The article presents a study on neurobiological mechanisms underlying key learning processes during social exchanges that shape behavior through interactions with other individuals. It reveals that social learning in terms of social preferences, behavioral actions and neural activity is shaped by short positive social interactions. Event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging studies of social reinforcement in non-human primates and humans is also presented.
