Abstract

The article discusses the two common options for dealing with a cataract in the setting of vitreoretinal disease. Topics discussed include the sequential surgery as the first option where the vitreoretinal surgeon performs the vitrectomy and repairs the retinal disease, its advantage of being the most convenient option for the vitreoretinal surgeon and simultaneous surgery as the second option where the cataract is removed at the same time when the vitreoretinal disease is addressed.
