The article investigates the role of the federal government in providing quality education in the U.S. By establishing the Teacher Corps program, the government's ultimate goal is to give everybody the opportunity to benefit from quality education by providing specialized teachers training, particularly for inservice educators. There is a need for the federal government and the educational community to work cooperatively in order to meet the challenge of enhancing teacher education in the country.
