Abstract

The article presents a study concerning the grade level of online patient education materials (PEMs) on parathyroid surgery. The researchers identified 30 web-based articles that tackled parathyroid surgery and found that the online PEMs were written above the recommended sixth-grade reading level. They also believed that the improvement in the readability of PEM could likely play a role in the promotion of better health education and compliance.
