The article presents a case study of a 38-week term newborn born via vaginal delivery to a previously healthy 24-year-old mother. It discusses the treatment with ceftriaxone and vancomycin without resolution of her fever. It mentions another case of a newborn at 39 weeks gestational age delivered via urgent caesarian section secondary to non-reassuring fetal heart tones to a 21-year old primigravid mother.
