Phthalocyanines with an 18 π-electron conjugated structure have intrinsic nonlinear optical response, but their agglomeration in solution and films is a bottleneck toward their optical limiting device processing. Herein, we develop three sp3-hybridized carbon bridge polyphthalocyanine porous organic frameworks (Pc-POFs) with an enhanced nonlinear absorption effect and optical limiting properties. The strong covalent bond linked porous structures in Pc-POFs could improve their optical limiting properties by inhibiting the relaxation of the molecule and increasing their excited state absorption. Moreover, the Sn-Pc-POF which introduces a Sn metal ion in the phthalocyanine center, exhibited an optical limiting threshold of 0.37 J cm−2 at 532 nm nanosecond laser, which is highly competitive in comparison with the state-of-the-art 2D optical limiting materials such as graphene and layered transition metal dichalcogenides. Two hybrid compounds, namely [CuI4(3atrz)4][PMoVI11MoVO40] (1) and [CuI6(3atrz)6][PMo12O40]2 (2), were synthesized through hydrothermal reactions of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (3atrz), phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) and appropriate copper salts. Crystal structure analysis reveals that compound 1 contains one-dimensional Cu-3atrz chains. The unit of compound 2 contains a double calyx[3]arene-shaped hexamer, which is composed of six two-coordinated CuI atoms and six 3atrz ligands. Both compounds 1 and 2 present a three-dimensional hybrid structure, which is built by the self-assembly of Cu-3atrz clusters and Keggin-type PMA units. The resulting hybrid compounds can act as highly efficient heterogeneous catalysts for the selective oxidation of olefins with molecular oxygen as the oxidant in the presence of a trace amount of tert-butyl hydroperoxide (t-BuOOH). Their excellent catalytic properties can be mainly attributed to the existence of stabilized CuI complexes with an appropriate chemical environment and a spacious structure, which can interact with t-BuOOH to form catalytic sites for the direct activation of O2. This work demonstrates that the hybrid compounds assembled from copper-3atrz complexes and phosphomolybdic acid may have great potential in molecular O2-mediated catalytic oxidation reactions, which can certainly build a platform for deep insight into the biologically relevant catalytic oxidation processes. An efficient and selective hydrogenation of benzonitrile to benzylamine has been accomplished over a Pd/γ-Al2O3 catalyst, without any additives, in a trickle-bed reactor. Some unique features involving both a gas–liquid phase reaction and a gas phase reaction were found for the hydrogenation of benzonitrile, due to the application of the trickle-bed reactor. A comparison of the catalytic performances clearly showed that there was more excellent mass transmission and more substantial back-mixing restriction in the trickle-bed reactor than in the batch reactor. As a result, Pd/γ-Al2O3 exhibited a higher activity and benzylamine selectivity for the hydrogenation of benzonitrile, generating benzylamine in a yield of ∼86%. Furthermore, a long-term stability test of up to 120 h was conducted on Pd/γ-Al2O3 for the hydrogenation of benzonitrile, with no significant loss of activity, exhibiting its potential in industrial application.
