Two-dimensional calcium terephthalate flakes with a thickness of 100–300 nm have been synthesized via adjusting the water : ethanol volume ratio in the solvothermal method. As anodes for sodium-ion batteries, 2D sheet electrodes possess fast kinetics and thus display superior cycling capacity and high-rate capability (195 mA h g−1 at 1000 mA g−1). A palladium-catalyzed three component cascade S-transfer reaction of acetylinic oximes with aryl halides using readily available Na2S2O3 as an odorless sulfenylation reagent under aerobic conditions in ionic liquids was described. The present protocol features environmental friendliness, good functional group compatibility, odorless sulfenylation reagents, without any ligand or additive, and excellent atom and step economy. Remarkably, this cascade procedure will be bringing about further late-stage modification for the construction of structurally complex isoxazole scaffolds in synthetic and pharmaceutical chemistry. Prussian blue coupled with zinc oxide has been synthesized via a facial heat treatment process. As a cathode for sodium ion batteries, the PB coupled with ZnO delivers an excellent rate performance, retaining 86.2 mA h g−1 at 10 A g−1 and a high reversible capacity of 89.9 mA h g−1 at 0.2 A g−1 after 500 cycles. The design of efficient and cheap electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) plays a key role for renewable energy technologies such as fuel cells and metal–air batteries. Using a simple and effective route, electronically conductive acetylene black (AB) was deliberately introduced into Fe3O4/HCS-600 with enough ORR active sites to be used as an ORR catalyst. The good homogenization of the electron conductor AB and the high intimate contact of Fe3O4/HCS-600 and AB in the composite catalyst provide the possibility of facile electron accessibility. The resulting composite catalyst exhibited a high and stable electrocatalytic activity for the ORR, which is better than Fe3O4/HCS-600 or AB alone. Nanostructured KxNayMnFe(CN)6 (x + y≤ 2) has been synthesized via a facile co-precipitation method. As a cathode, KNMF-3 presents a highly reversible capacity of 133.3 mA h g−1 at 20 mA g−1 as well as an excellent rate capacity of 92.0 mA h g−1 at 600 mA g−1. A promising Ca doping approach was reported to improve the durability and electrocatalytic OER activity of the perovskite Pr0.5Ba0.5CoO3−δ (PBC). Compared to the pristine PBC, the electrocatalytic activity of Ca-doped Pr0.5Ba0.3Ca0.2CoO3−δ perovskite was increased by ca. 90%. We report the discovery of a promising NDM-1 inhibitor, ebselen, through a cell-based screening approach. Enzymatic kinetic study and ESI-MS analysis suggested that ebselen could bind to NDM-1 by forming a S–Se bond with the Cys221 residue at the active site, thereby exhibiting a new inhibition mechanism with broad spectrum inhibitory potential. A novel strategy has been established to assemble a series of single ( Z )- or ( E )-1 H -isoindole derivatives through selectively and sequentially activating carbon-nitrogen triple bonds in a multicomponent system containing various nucleophilic and electrophilic sites. The reaction provides efficient access to structurally unique fluorophores with aggregation-induced emission characteristics.
