The features of clinical use of gallium alloys "Galloy" and "Metallodent-c" were compared with amalgam "Dispersalloy". Gallium materials, offered as an alternative for amalgams, are comfortable for use and more plastic. They moisten walls of cavity better, become hand faster and keep their form very well. Gallium materials are brought into prepared cavity easier and processed faster then amalgams. There is no need in maintenance of strict sanitary rules are necessary while using of amalgams.

The authors assess clinical efficacy and possibility of using finely dispersed copper alloy for CMTA amalgam in dentistry. They compare their results with the data of clinical trials of tableted cooper amalgam TMAC-01 which is commercially manufactured at present. CMTA cooper amalgam was found preferable to TMAC-01 amalgam at all stages of carious process compensation in children due to its better strength, increased color stability, and corrosion resistance. This material is recommended for pedodontics for filling carious cavities of the first, second, and fifth class in deciduous molars.

The author presents the results of physicochemical trials and preliminary clinical assessment of modified copper amalgam, carried out to master the optimal method for its preparation. The optimal conditions for the preparation of a filling from modified copper amalgam consist in mixing 0.42 +/- 0.02 g of the alloy powder and 0.3 g of mercury within 25-35 sec. Clinical trials have demonstrated the advantages of this modification vs. the filling manufactured in this country previously, this recommending it for practical pedodontics.
