This work analyzes the management of agroecosystems in Haiti, mainly in Haut-Limbé, from a social, economic, and cultural perspective. This region is characterized by traditional agriculture divided into agroecological zones and by a plurality of agricultural crops and typical products. It covers 23.95 km2 with a predominance of relief of mountains and has its own agricultural, social, and cultural characteristics. Thus, interviews were conducted with 30 family farmers to distinguish at which level the social and economic life and the historical and cultural dynamics of the families have influences on the agroecosystems. The agricultural plots of the heads of families were located and measured using the GPS geolocation software Map Ruler (Android). The mapping tool (QGIS 3.10) was used to capture geographic data. We observed that farmers still maintain the agricultural practices of their ancestors for the management of agroecosystems, yet due to lack of support (technical assistance, agricultural bank, irrigation, unavailability of labor) their effort is insufficient to increase their output and keep a balanced means of production.
