Psychologists want to know what works in therapy, what specific factor benefits the individual, and how to improve the quality of therapy outcomes. According to this aim, empirically supported treatments were developed in 2005 and "Evidence-Based Practice" was put forward. Routine Outcome Measure (ROM) is a feedback system which rooted in Evidence-Based Practice. The aim of the current study is to provide information about the ROM method by making a scoping review. EKUAL, PubMed and Scopus databases were scanned. As a result of the screening, 44 studies in the mental health literature that provided information about ROM were included in the study. The findings obtained from 44 studies were evaluated under 6 main headings: Stages of ROM, advantages of ROM, disadvantages of ROM and obstacles to its use, efficacy of ROM, digitalization of ROM and suggestions for the development of ROM. It can be said that ROM is a promising method in terms of improving the quality of therapies. It is expected that studies on ROM and regular use of ROM in therapies will increase in the future

Death anxiety has been proposed to be a transdiagnostic construct underlying the development and maintenance of numerous psychopathological conditions. The relationship between death anxiety and mental disorders has been largely studied in specific disorders. On the other hand, it has been suggested that interventions to transdiagnostic components such as death anxiety have the potential to increase therapy efficacy for many psychological disorders. Accordingly, the aim of the study was to identify studies examined relationships between death anxiety and various mental disorders and outline measurement methods for evaluating death anxiety. Of the 933 references identified at Web of Science, Google Scholar, PubMed and APA databases, 17 articles met inclusion criteria. In the studies, the relationship between death anxiety and psychopathology and the measurement tools used to evaluate death anxiety were examined. Studies included in this review have examined the role of death anxiety in various psychological disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder. Overall, results suggested that there is a clear association between death anxiety and psychopathology, symptom severity, number of psychiatric medications and hospitalizations, depression and anxiety. Furthermore, Templer’s Death Anxiety Scale was most widely used scale for measuring death anxiety. The findings indicate that death anxiety may be an important risk factor in the development or maintaining of many psychological disorders and it is significant to include death anxiety in the treatment of mental disorders in which death anxiety may play a role.

Emotion regulation is a transdiagnostic concept which has been frequently studied in the field of psychological health. Although these empirical studies in the relevant literature revealed important findings, it has also been currently mentioned that emotion regulation is mostly studied with certain tools having some limitations but it is not a uniform subject, and there are some contextual factors in emotion regulation which has been considered as having determinative role. In this sense, when we say emotion regulation now, we can refer several contextual factors such as relevant situation/event, emotion that is regulated, interpersonal conditions, spontaneous emergence of emotion regulation strategies, co-occurrence of various regulation methods, efficacy of the strategies and specific time frame of regulation. In this article, it is aimed to first describe emotion regulation which is frequently mentioned in national and international literature, and then, to review recent empirical research findings and to question limitations of traditional approaches toward emotion regulation by examining some salient contextual factors and finally, to present some relevant suggestions based on current approaches.

By considering the etiological similarities of depression and anxiety disorders with high lifetime coexistence rates, recent research has introduced a transdiagnostic approach applicable to a range of emotional disorders with these common features. This paper reviews empirical studies examining the effects of transdiagnostic intervention programs on depression and anxiety disorders. The literature search identified 18 randomized controlled and 12 non-randomized studies. These were examined in terms of their sample characteristics, methodological approaches, and findings. Overall, the reviewed transdiagnostic psychological intervention programs treat various anxiety disorders and depression effectively. In cases where anxiety and depressive symptoms are comorbid, the transdiagnostic approach has significant advantages over diagnosis-specific protocols. Future studies should investigate the effect of the transdiagnostic approach in different diagnostic groups compared to diagnosis-specific treatments. In Turkey specifically, it is important to investigate the effectiveness of transdiagnostic interventions and potential clinical and economic advantages compared to diagnostic specific protocols.

Cognitive behavioral therapy, consisting of exposure and response prevention and cognitive restructring, is still one of the most effective treatments for obsessive compulsive disorder. However, some patients do not fully benefit from the treatment. This condition results in more search for novel approaches that can contribute to effectiveness of standard treatments. In this regard, the use of technology-based methods in recent researches is noteworthy. Cognitive bias modification is one of these current efforts of technology-based methods. Cognitive bias modification involves computerized tasks designed to modify some cognitive biases such as attention and interpretation associated with psychopathology, particularly anxiety disorders. Researches have generally demonstrated that cognitive bias modification can be effective way to alter cognitive biases and to reduce anxiety symptoms. In recent years, there have been also some studies to investigate the potential effects of cognitive bias modification for obsessive compulsive disorder. Although more researches with larger clinical samples are warranted, there is emerging evidence for efficacy of cognitive bias modification for obsessive compulsive disorder as well. Beside, some studies suggest that cognitive bias modification can be used as a supplementary technique to standart cognitive behavioral therapy for obsessive compulsive disorder. Accordingly, the aim of this article is to review the limited number of empirical studies, particularly focusing on the effects of cognitive bias modification on obsessive compulsive symptoms and mechanisms of action underlying these effects.

The Experience Sampling Method (ESM), which makes possible to make momentary assessment during daily life by using portable devices and applications, has been actively used in clinical psychology research along with accelerating technological developments in recent years. The use of this method might be highly functional in some problems characterized with fluctuating symptom severity such as anxiety disorders. Because it is aimed to investigate the current literature findings about the use of this method in research on anxiety disorders and to make inferences about main study findings in this systematic review, current empirical studies particularly on anxiety disorder symptoms performed with the ESM were screened and examined. Taking the recent DSM-5 revisions into account, specific keywords were determined and scanned in 4 different databases (Web of Science, ProQuest, PsycINFO and PubMed). Following the screening processes, 14 articles that matched with inclusion criteria were involved in the present study. Firstly, it is seen that those studies were performed by using ESM generally included the adults and female participants and assessments with experience sampling measurements by electronic devices took 9 days in avarage. Moreover, it is also observed that among the different categories of psychological disorders, were evalutions on momentary affect changes, post-event processing and rumination that were usually studied. In sum, it is considered that ESM is a functional method that can be used in the field of scientific research, and it may be beneficial that recognizing and extending the utilization of this method.

In recent years, the number of smart phone applications developed for physical and mental health has been rapidly increasing. The rapid growth in the use of smart phone applications provides an alternative and supportive option for the treatment of mental illnesses. The aim of this systematic review is to investigate the effectiveness of mobile applications related to mental health by using randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Within the scope of the study, English articles published in several databases were searched using specific terms. Twelve eligible studies fulfilling the research criteria were evaluated in terms of contents, sampling, study method and findings of the applications. The findings of the current studies revealed that mobile applications are generally effective in reducing the symptoms of the mental illness and feasibility and usability of smart phone applications were reported by participants.
