Un diagnostic a identifié les premiers vestiges archéologiques du château fort du Vaudreuil et des indices de la forteresse du Xe siècle. Une partie du mur d’enceinte et une porte du XIIe siècle correspondent aux travaux commandés par Henri Ier Beauclerc. Au XIIIe siècle, la porte est modifiée et l’enceinte est flanquée de tours à contreforts. A survey has identified the first archaeological remains of the Vaudreuil castle and some relics from the 10th century fortress. A portion of the curtain wall and a door dating back to the 12th century correspond to the work commissioned by Henry I of England. In the 13th century, the door was changed and the enclosure was flanked by towers that served as buttresses.
