We report an unusual case of ocular trauma, its diagnosis and treatment. Twenty-six-year-old male victim of an unspecified orbital trauma during military training. The ocular exam revealed a disruption of the ocular bulb, edema, bruise and presence of a darkened tissue on the left orbital region. Computed tomography showed a cylindrical foreign body measuring 5x3 cm, with lateral grooves and fracture of medial wall, floor and roof of the orbit. After the excision of the foreign body and reconstruction of the orbital cavity with titanium mesh the patient evolved satisfactorily with programming for adaptation of ocular prosthesis.
