Law constitutes a device that serves the purpose of naturalizing the existing social order. This is because the cycle of protests observed since October 2019 in Chile, insofar as it was oriented to produce changes in the social order, puts pressure on the Law. Hence, it is possible to expect that the representations of political protest produced from the legal field during this cycle operate in diverse and opposing senses. In order to investigate the understanding of these meanings and to know how they are confronted, a judicial process oriented to the punishment of actions developed in the framework of these protests is examined. This type of analysis is relevant because what is debated in court has an impact on the discussion and definition of the content of the political rights of citizens. El derecho constituye un dispositivo que sirve a efectos de naturalizar el orden social existente, es por ello que el ciclo de protestas observadas desde octubre de 2019 en Chile, en tanto se orienta a producir cambios en el orden social, tensiona lo jurídico. De ahí, es posible esperar que las representaciones de la protesta política que se producen desde el campo jurídico durante este ciclo operen en sentidos diversos y contrapuestos. Para indagar en la comprensión de estos significados y conocer cómo se enfrentan, se examina un proceso judicial orientado al castigo de acciones desarrolladas en el marco de las protestas ocurridas en Chile en 2019. El examen de este tipo de antecedentes resulta relevante por cuanto lo que se debate en sede judicial incide en la discusión y definición del contenido de los derechos políticos de la ciudadanía, más allá de lo estrictamente judicial. La investigación propuesta constituye un aporte a la comprensión sociojurídica de la representación de la protesta, un derecho inscrito en el corazón de la democracia.

El presente artículo es un estudio de corte cuantitativo de los comentarios generados y publicados por usuarios el 8 y 9 de marzo en la plataforma YouTube sobre la marcha #8M en Ciudad de México del 8 de marzo de 2020. Su propósito es conocer qué tipo de temáticas, discusiones y percepciones giran en torno a una de las más concurridas manifestaciones feministas en contra de la violencia de género y la impunidad ante una creciente ola de feminicidios en México. Asimismo, presenta una discusión sobre las potencialidades y riesgos de YouTube para el ciberfeminismo y la protesta a partir de los comentarios generados por los usuarios. Los resultados muestran un espacio en el que se manifiestan una fuerte misoginia, una alta incomprensión del feminismo y la imposibilidad de una conversación productiva y dialógica.

En este ensayo, se propone responder las preguntas: .como y en que condiciones los actores sociales se convierten en ciudadanos? y .como funciona el principio de ciudadania entre distintos colectivos?. A traves de una metodologia cualitativa y etnografica centrada en los relatos de sesenta dirigentes vecinales en una comuna de Chile, se propone una lectura de 1) la ciudadania como una serie de vinculos entre la sociedad y el Estado en que se intitulan cotidianamente sentidos en torno a la inclusion y exclusion social, los cuales son puestos en juego en contactos cara a cara a traves de recursos, habilidades y capacidades diferencialmente distribuidos; y 2) los vinculos sociopoliticos mas alla de la distincion absoluta entre actores clientelares y contestatarios para analizar sus similitudes y diferencias.

This essay tries to answer the following questions: how and under what conditions do social actors become citizens? And how does the principle of citizenship work among different groups? Through a qualitative and ethnographic methodology focused on the stories of sixty neighborhood leaders in a Chilean commune, we propose 1) citizenship as a series of links between society and the State, in which meanings are daily constructed around social inclusion and exclusion, which are brought into play in face-to-face contacts through differentially distributed resources, skills and capacities; 2) sociopolitical ties beyond the absolute distinction between clientelist and contestatory actors to analyze their similarities and differences. For decades, Cajamarca has housed one of the most productive gold mines in the world. Between 1992, when the operations of the Yanacocha deposits began, until 2011, when the most important expansion project of the operating company was suspended, extractive activities have been a source of controversy. Only between 2004 and 2011 three conflicts reached national relevance in Cajamarca: Quilish (2004), Combayo (2006) and Minas Conga (2011). This continuum allows analyzing different types of «responses» --especially from rural areas-- to mining. The article proposes that the peasant responses have been oriented to the negotiation of benefits that compensate the affectation of natural resources and allow the localities to accede, albeit in an indirect and limited way, to the profits produced by the industry. However, when the agreements reached with the company are not met or the population perceives that the impact on the means of subsistence is greater than the benefits received, incentives are generated for political mobilization. In this context, different coalitions had emerged between rural villages and urban organizations that, though ephemeral in organizational terms, promoted mobilizations against Yanacocha's expansion projects with remarkable effectiveness.
