Persons with severe neuromuscular diseases have lost the ability to communicate verbally and in writing. The use of classic peripherals to try to facilitate communication, it is impossible due to diseases such as muscular dystrophy, paralysis, Friedreich's ataxia and disorders of the spine causing in the bodies of the people who suffer this diseases, effects such as spasticity, spasms, poor coordination, restricted movement and loss of muscle strength. The augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), is a complementary option or total replacement speech, allowing break the communication and interaction barrier of these people with society. In this article, the development of a virtual system keyboard it shows as a method using an acoustic event to select the desired character and a group similar to the keyboard of a classic cell phone to optimize system efficiency. In recent years the teaching based on an active role of the learner has given promising results, which has led to an increased interest in it. As a result of this, a plethora of researches have focused on developing methods and tools by which the learner can actively participate in his/her learning process. Recently, one of the alternatives which has sparked great interest within the academic community is educational robotics. Its applications cover a broad spectrum of the educational levels of the person, i.e., from kindergarten through advanced graduate levels at university. This article illustrates some of the main approaches to this research field and among them is mentioned the robotic swarm TEAC²H-RI (Technology, Engineering And sCience eduCation through Human-Robot Interaction). It was developed at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and is the result of an interdisciplinary work of Computer Science and Control, Electronic and Mechanic Engineering.
