Using Kierkegaard's Works of Love, I advocate a theory of interpretation as a conversation with the dead, of the same sort Kierkegaard was practicing in the last discourse of his book. I do not mean reading the works of dead white European males, but looking at things from the perspective of the grave where, as Kierkegaard says, we are all equal before God. I will maintain that the creative conflict of interpretations arises from the ambiguity of this conversation, from the difficulty we have in making out just what the dead are saying, which I will relate to what Derrida calls the absolute "secret." Whence the Derridean idea that only as "hauntology" is hermeneutics possible. I insert the interpretation of religious faith within this hauntological hermeneutical framework.

En reponse a la question de l'oubli de l'etre chez Saint Thomas et Heidegger, l'A. rejette l'idee d'une autodeconstruction de la metaphysique thomiste et montre que la doctrine du non-possum renforce au contraire le mystere de l'etre divin.

Associant a l'idee de post-modernite l'espoir d'une post-secularisation, l'A. defend un programme catholique postmoderne, a travers l'exemple de l'echec du dialogue entre catholiques modernes et catholiques postmodernes aux Etats-Unis.

Dans ce commentaire de l'etude Le postmodernisme et la tradition catholique de Ken Schmitz, l'A. commence par exprimer son admiration sur l'analyse qui y est proposee de la philosophie moderne. Puis il donne son approche personnelle et comment elle a evolue au cours des vingt dernieres annees : le lien entre le catholicisme et le postmodernisme est a chercher dans la redecouverte de la tradition augustinienne du coeur, oubliee par la tradition catholique, qui est sous-jacente aux penseurs postmodernistes qui, comme Derrida, s'inspirent de l'oeuvre de Levinas.

L'A. developpe une hermeneutique de l'historicite chretienne qui permette a la raison philosophique de mesurer la temporalite et l'historialite de ce qui est appele le royaume de Dieu dans l'Ancien Testament
