This paper reviews the status of Geodiapria and its nominotypical and only included species G. longiceps. Geodiapria was previously understood to be very similar to, and doubtfully separated from the genus Basalys. We use integrative taxonomy (morphology, DNA-barcoding, phylogenetic tree building) to show that the valid name for what was G. longiceps Kieffer, 1911 is now Basalys rufocinctus (Kiefer, 1911) and that Geodiapria is consequently a junior synonym of Basalys syn. nov. The following taxa are new synonyms of B. rufocinctus: Loxotropa longiceps Wasmann, 1909, syn. nov., G. longiceps Kieffer, 1911, syn. nov., L. rufosignata Kieffer, 1911, syn. nov. A new genus of the braconid subfamily Cardiochilinae, Ophiclypeus gen. nov., is described and illustrated based on three new species: O. chiangmaiensis Kang, sp. nov. type species (type locality: Chiang Mai, Thailand), O. dvaravati Ghafouri Moghaddam, Quicke & Butcher, sp. nov. In this paper, a new species of Entedon Dalman, E. flavifemur sp. nov. is described from Tibet and three species, E. albifemur Kamijo, E. crassiscapus Erdös, and E. nomizonis Kamijo are reported from China for the first time. Background: Citizen science is a research approach that involves collaboration between professional scientists and non-professional volunteers. The utilisation of recent online citizen-science platforms (e.g. social networking services) has greatly revolutionised the accessibility of biodiversity data by providing opportunities for connecting professional and citizen scientists worldwide. Meteorus stellatus Fujie, Shimizu & Maeto, 2021 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Euphorinae) has been recorded from the Oriental Islands of Japan and known to be a gregarious endoparasitoid of two macro-sized sphingid moths of Macroglossum, Ma. passalus (Drury) and Ma. pyrrhosticta Butler. It constructs characteristic star-shaped communal cocoons, suspended by a long cable. Although M. stellatus has been reported only from the Oriental Islands of Japan, the authors recognise its occurrence and ecological data from Taiwan and the Palaearctic Island of Japan through posts on online citizen-science groups about Taiwanese Insects on Facebook and an article on a Japanese citizen-scientist's website. New information: Through collaboration between professional and citizen scientists via social media (Facebook groups) and websites, the following new biodiversity and ecological data associated with M. stellatus are provided: 1. Meteorus stellatus is recorded for the first time from Taiwan and the Palaearctic Region (Yakushima Is., Japan). 2. Cechetra minor (Butler, 1875), Hippotion celerio (Linnaeus, 1758) and Macroglossum sitiene (Walker, 1856) (Lepidoptera, Sphingidae) are recorded for the first time as hosts of M. stellatus and two of which (C. minor and H. celerio) represent the first genus-level host records for M. stellatus. 3. Mesochorus sp. (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae), indeterminate species of Pteromalidae and Trichogrammatidae (Hymenoptera), are recognised as hyperparasitoid wasps of M. stellatus. 4. Parapolybia varia (Fabricius, 1787) (Hymenoptera, Vespidae) is reported as a predator of pendulous communal cocoons of M. stellatus. The nature of suspended large-sized communal cocoons of M. stellatus and the importance and limitations of digital occurrence data and online citizen science are briefly discussed. A new species of Proaphelinoides Girault, Proaphelinoideshuangi Chen & Jiang, sp. nov. , is reported from China. A key to all species of the genus is provided. A new species, Euurobracon bhaskarai Quicke, sp. nov., from West Java, Indonesia, is described, illustrated and differentiated from other members of the genus. It is closely related to the type species of the genus, E. yokahamae Dalla Torre, 1898, which is known from China, India, Japan, Laos, South Korea and Thailand. Euurobracon yokahamae is redescribed and illustrated for comparative purposes. The two species are separable mainly on colouration, but differ markedly based on their mitochondrial gene sequences (cytochrome c oxidase I, cytochrome b and 16S rDNA). The slower-evolving nuclear 28S rDNA and elongation factor 1-alpha did not differentiate E. bhaskarai sp. nov. from E. yokahamae, but consistently split Euurobracon into two species groups. Parasitoid wasps are known to be among the most abundant and species-rich on Earth and thus considered an ecologically important group of arthropods. Braconid wasps play a key role in regulating the populations of Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and Diptera. However, the biology and taxonomy of numerous parasitoid species remain poorly known. In Mexico, only 17 species of the subfamily Cheloninae have been described. A new species of Pseudophanerotoma Zettel, 1990 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae), P. huichol sp. nov., is described from Nayarit, Mexico. Two new species belonging to the varius group of Coccophagus, C. breviclavulus sp. nov. and C. perlucidus sp. nov., are described from Xishuangbanna Rainforest (China, Yunnan). Coccophagus anchoroides (Huang) and C. yunnana Wang, Huang & Polaszek are recorded. A tentative key to world species of this group is provided. Species of the genus Foenobethylus Kieffer, 1913 are parasitoids wasps rarely collected and are only found in the Oriental region. In this study, based on both morphological and molecular evidence, we describe three new species from China: F. robusta Li & Chen, sp. nov., F. xinglongsensis Wang & Chen, sp. nov., and F. yunkaishanensis Chen & Luo, sp. nov. An updated key to species of the genus is provided. The highly polyphagous and invasive brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (Stål) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), has become a significant insect pest in North America since its detection in 1996. It was first documented in northern Utah in 2012 and reports of urban nuisance problems and plant damage have since increased. Biological control is the preferred solution to managing H. halys in North America and other invaded regions due to its alignment with integrated pest management and sustainable practices. Native and non-native biological control agents, namely parasitoid wasps, have been assessed for efficacy. Trissolcus japonicus (Ashmead) (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) is an effective egg parasitoid of H. halys in its native range of southeast Asia and has recently been documented parasitising H. halys eggs in North America and Europe. Field surveys for native and exotic egg parasitoids using wild (in situ) and lab-reared H. halys egg masses were conducted in suburban and agricultural sites in northern Utah from June to September 2017–2019. Seven native wasp species in the families Eupelmidae and Scelionidae were discovered guarding H. halys eggs and adult wasps from five of these species completed emergence. Native species had low mean rates of adult emergence from wild (0.5–3.7%) and lab-reared (0–0.4%) egg masses. In 2019, an adventive population of T. japonicus was discovered for the first time in Utah, emerging from 21 of the 106 wild H. halys egg masses found that year, and none from lab-reared eggs. All T. japonicus emerged from egg masses collected on Catalpa speciosa (Warder). Our results support other studies that have observed biological control of H. halys from T. japonicus and improved parasitoid wasp detection with wild as compared to lab-reared H. halys egg masses.

Schoenlandella Cameron, 1905 is the second largest genus of Cardiochilinae. Most members are recorded from the Old World, with a small number of species in the New World. Herein, the New World species of Schoenlandella are revised based on morphological data. This work entails a description of a new species: S. montserratensis Kang, sp. nov. and potential lepidopteran host information of the new species associated with bitter gourds on the Caribbean Island of Montserrat. Schoenlandella diaphaniae (Marsh, 1986) and S. gloriosa Mercado & Wharton, 2003 are re-described, and a key to species of New World Schoenlandella is provided. For the first time in 21 years, a new genus of cardiochiline braconid wasp, Orientocardiochiles Kang & Long, gen. nov. (type species Orientocardiochiles joeburrowi Kang, sp. nov.), is discovered and described. This genus represents the ninth genus in the Oriental region. Two new species (O. joeburrowi Kang, sp. nov. and O. nigrofasciatus Long, sp. nov.) are described and illustrated, and a key to species of the genus, with detailed images, is added. Diagnostic characters of the new genus are analyzed and compared with several other cardiochiline genera to allow the genus to key out properly using an existing generic treatment. The scientific names validated by this paper and morphological data obtained from this project will be utilized and tested in the upcoming genus-level revision of the subfamily based on combined morphological and molecular data. The parasitoid wasp Clistopyga melanoptera Castillo, Sääksjärvi & Bordera, 2016 was described recently and was known only from the type locality, Cusco, Peru. Here we provide a first record of this species for Brazil, at Manaus, 1700 km from the type locality. A distribution map, images and morphological variations are provided.

Polysphinctine wasps of the genus Hymenoepimecis act as koinobiont ectoparasitoids of orb-weaver spiders. Hymenoepimecis japi is already known to parasitize the tetragnathid spider Leucauge roseosignata. Here, we record the dome-weaver spider Mecynogea biggiba as a second host for H. japi, as well as the behavioral manipulations induced by the parasitoid. We found that H. japi alters the web construction behavior of M. biggiba, resulting in a complex three-dimensional cocoon web. This modified web differs from that of L. roseosignata, which is a simpler structure composed of a few support threads. Our finds add to the literature the first case of a Hymenoepimecis species parasitizing spiders of two distinct families. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We provide a list of the Pimplinae from the Estação Ecológica dos Caetetus, São Paulo state, Brazil. A total of 286 specimens belonging to 17 species in 10 genera were collected from December 2002 to May 2004. Pimpla and Neotheronia were the most abundant genera with 45% and 10% specimens respectively. Fourteen species of Pimplinae were recorded for the first time from São Paulo state and 3 of them, Neotheronia charli, N. cherfasi and N. lizzae, were recorded for the first time from Brazil. The Thai fauna of eleven agathidine genera, i.e., Biroia, Braunsia, Camptothlipsis, Coccygidium, Cremnops, Cremnoptoides, Disophrys, Earinus, Gyrochus, Lytopylus, and Troticus, are revised. 25 species are treated, 20 of which are found in Thailand and five that are likely to occur there. Six new species are described, i.e., Braunsia chaweewanae, Camptothlipsis annemariae, Camptothlipsis sheilae, Coccygidium mastigion, Coccygidium phaeoscapos, and Cremnoptoides yui. The following new synonomies are proposed: Isopronotum seminigripenne Enderlein, Isopronotum seminigripenne Enderlein, Isoptronotum seminigripenne rufescens, Enderlein Isopronotum tricolor Enderlein, Biroia soror Achterberg and Long, are all synonymized with Biroia fuscicornis (Cameron 1903). Braunsia pumatica van Achterberg and Long is synonymized with Braunsia fumipennis (Cameron 1899). Braunsia devriesi van Achterberg and Long is synonymized with Braunsia smithii (Dalla Torre 1898). Cremnops malayensis Bhat and Agathis nigritarsus Cameron 1899 are synonymized with Cremnops desertor (Linneaus 1758). Disophrys macilifera van Achterberg and Long is synonymized with Disophrys strigata Enderlein 1920. Disophrys guymanhi van Achterberg and Long is synonymized with Disophrys subfaciata (Brullé, 1846). Agathis burmensis (Bhat & Gupta, 1977) is synonymized with Lytophylus ebulus (Nixon 1950). Disophrys ornatipennis Cameron 1905 is transferred to Gyrochus ornatipennis (Cameron 1905) n. comb. Agathis flavipennis Brullé is transferred to Gyrochus flavipennis (Brullé 1846) n. comb. Troticus melanopterous Cameron is removed from the genus Cremnops and reinstated in Troticus. We describe Genaemirum phagocossorum Rousse, Broad & van Noort, sp. n., a new ichneumonine parasitoid wasp reared from Eucalyptus nitens logs infested by the cossid moth Coryphodema tristis, which is considered a major pest of forestry and food crops in South Africa. This is the first plausible host association for the genus, and fits with the host association predictions of Heinrich. Two further undescribed species were found in the collections of the Natural History Museum in London and are described as Genaemirum phacochoerus Broad, Rousse & van Noort, sp. n. and Genaemirum fumosum Broad, Rousse & van Noort, sp. n. The genus Paracyphononyx Gribodo, 1884 (Pompilidae) contains species that act as koinobiont parasitoids of cursorial spiders. Here, we record a new parasitism interaction involving the pompilid wasp Paracyphononyx scapulatus (Bréthes) and the hunter spider Trochosa sp. (Lycosidae), and we describe how the wasp develops on the spider. This study contributes new information about the interaction between koinobiont ectoparasitoid wasps and spiders, which probably arose independently in different groups of wasps. Bethylidae are cosmopolitan wasps, with about 100 valid genera and about 2,600 valid species around the world. This study aimed to determine the genera of Bethylidae occurring in Central African Republic. The specimens were collected at three sites using three collecting methods. A total of 1,924 specimens were obtained and 18 genera recorded: Apenesia, Cephalonomia, Dissomphalus, Epyris, Goniozus, Holepyris, Laelius, Pararhabdepyris, Parascleroderma, Plastanoxus, Pristocera, Protisobrachium, Pseudisobrachium, Sulcomesitius, Trachepyris, Trichiscus, Tuberepyris and Zimankos.
