Abstract

Chaucer's Knight's Tale is a story of chivalry and of romance, a tale of two captive knights Palamon and Arcite who fall in love with the same maiden, with disastrous results. Besides being royal cousins, Palamon and Arcite have strengthened their responsibility to each other by swearing an oath of brotherhood.
