- Abstract
This study aims at revealing the views of school principals about the women school principals. Descriptive survey model was used in the study. Sample of the study consisted of 101 school principals. The scale consisting of 20 questions developed by the researchers was used in order to collec tthe data required for the research. It was tested by using t-test whether the views of school principals differ according to two categorical variables such as their gender, branch and graduated school. Whether or not there was any difference according to school type and seniority characteristics from the views of school principals was tested with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Arithmetic mean and standard deviation values were also given in the analysis of the data.It is seen that school principals participated in survey generally have little participation in the negative items that mean women can not fulfill their administrative roles. Participants do not think that women school principals have an emotional structure. It is also understood that they do not agree with the idea of women school principals are more emotionally close to the events, are not cool enough at the time of any crisis and often avoid of being an administrator. It can be said that women need encouraging, emboldening, perhaps positive discrimination for administration. Therefore, women staff should be seen as potential administrators and necessary opportunities for their progresss hould be provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
