Abstract

The article focuses on the issues regarding the General Medical Council (GMC) guidance on confidentiality that caused consternation amongst occupational medical personnel in Great Britain. It states that occupational physicians were concerned that the implications of the guidance could lead to the end of occupational medicine. It notes that among these concerns is the statement that doctors should show the patient and give a copy of any report for employment and insurance purposes.
