The article presents a study which examined patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis based on the result of QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-Tube procedure to assess the frequency of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) and the host immune reactivity. Patients who received biological treatment were selected based on age and gender, presence of comorbidities and other therapeutic protocols given to them. An analysis of interferon-γ release after biological therapy is also performed.

We report the clinical features and pathological findings in 23 patients with idiopathic trachyonychia (twenty-nail dystrophy). Clinically, the nail changes in the majority of patients consisted of the typical 'sandpapered' appearance, with a rough, lustreless nail plate. In some, however, the nail plate abnormality was less severe, with numerous small, superficial pits, which imparted a shiny appearance to the surface of the nail. Histology of nail biopsy specimens showed spongiotic changes in 19 patients, psoriasiform features in three, and features of lichen planus in one patient. The mean follow-up of these patients was 2 years, during which time none developed alopecia areata or mucocutaneous lesions. Idiopathic trachyonychia is therefore a consequence of several inflammatory disorders, which produce a disturbance of nail matrix kinetics. Over recent decades, much progress has been made towards psoriasis management.[[1]] Along with traditional systemic therapies (methotrexate, ciclosporin A, acitretin), the introduction of monoclonal antibodies such as anti-tumour necrosis factor drugs has allowed achievement of 75% reduction in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI75).[[1]] Innovative targets are constantly being investigated. Given that an add-on therapy with MTX had not yielded any relevant improvement in psoriasis, we discontinued the existing therapy for all four patients and initiated treatment with secukinumab (Table). Perianal streptococcal dermatitis is an uncommon superficial cutaneous infection of the perianal area almost exclusively described in children. We report here tour adult cases. Beta-huernolytic streptococcus group A was detected in the perianal areas of all the patients. Systemic erythromycin gave complete resolution. The incidence of perianal streptococcal dermatitis in adults is probably underestimated, arid culture from the affected area should always be performed in patients with persistent perianal erythema. The article presents a case study of a 37-year-old white man diagnosed with a benign neoplasm (BN) located on the tip of his nose. The patient's job as a photographer contributed to the analysis of localized argyria which results from cutaneous exposure to silver. It also notes that the distribution of the pigmentation is atypical, wherein it was spread over the tip of the nose and there was an accentuation of the greyish pigmentation in the ostia of the hair follicle infundibula.
