Abstract

We present an external-cavity-diode-laser for quantum sensor applications based on distributed feedback diode laser with resonant feedback from an external cavity. The intrinsic linewidth is 31 Hz. Design, micro-integration concept and experimental results are shown.

Abstract

We report efficient and robust Kerr-lens mode-locking of single-mode and tapered diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF lasers by using gain-matched output couplers. Sub-15-fs pulses were generated with peak powers above 60-kW and optical-to-optical conversion efficiencies up to 21%.

Abstract

We present highly-efficient tunable blue generation by intracavity frequency doubling of a low-cost diode-pumped Cr:LiCAF laser. Continuous-wave blue powers as high as 95 mW and tuning from 375 nm to 433 nm were realized.

Abstract

A mode-locked Yb:Ca4YO(BO3)3 laser delivering pulses as short as 35 fs at 1055 nm is demonstrated. The oscillator is pumped by a two-section distributed Bragg-reflector tapered diode-laser and mode-locked by a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror.

Abstract

We report on the realization of narrow linewidth high power distributed bragg reflector (DBR) lasers. For devices with a front facet reflectivity R f = 30% we obtain a minmum intrinsic linewidth of 12 kHz and a total linewidth of 147 kHz at an output power of 130mW (measurement time = 100 µs). For R f = 1% we report an an intrinsic linewidth of less than 100 kHz and a total linewidth of 1202 kHz at an output power of 1W.

Abstract

Green picosecond pulses with peak powers of more than 4W are generated by second harmonic generation in bulk PPLN. These power levels exceed all previous electrically triggerable green picosecond sources by an order of magnitude.

We report on passive mode locking of an Yb-doped lanthanum scandium borate laser. Pulse durations as short as 58 fs and 67 fs were obtained applying a Ti:sapphire- and a diode-laser pump source, respectively.

Abstract

Diffusion bonding of the strongly anisotropic Yb:KY(WO4)2and KY(WO4)2crystals was successfully demonstrated. Efficient continuous-wave laser operation with slope efficiencies as high as 70% and 811 mW output power was obtained.
