In-situ monitoring of femtosecond point-by-point written Fiber Bragg Gratings embedding in a ceramic material deposited by plasma-spraying was realized. High temperature measurements were successfully performed on the additively manufactured specimen up to 400°C.

In this paper, we propose a comparison of fiber in-line Fabry-Pérot pressure sensors with different structure. The modeling and simulation of pressure sensor with different diaphragm and cavity shape is made. The sensor temperature response up to 900°C is presented. Pressure measurement up to 70bar of four different sensors are demonstrated.

We experimentally demonstrate the amplification of ultrashort pulses up to µJ level at 1053nm in an all-polarization maintaining FOPCPA system. This high energy level originates from a parametric process in a specially designed hybrid fiber.

Dynamic temperature monitoring along a stainless steel specimen additively manufactured by selective laser melting was performed using point-by-point written femtosecond Fiber Bragg Gratings packaged in a metallic capillary.

A Fabry-Pérot interferometer and Fiber Bragg Grating based fiber optic pressure sensor for the measurement of temperature (up to 900 °C, at room pressure) and pressure (up to 90 bar, at room temperature) is proposed.

In this work, we demonstrate and evaluate a new design of micro-structured core erbium-doped few-mode fiber to be used as optical amplifier in the context of mode-division multiplexing. This concept is proposed so as to better control the distribution of the Er3+ ions in the core area, thus permitting to adjust the overall differential modal gains between the different signal modes. The design presented here consists of 19 erbium-doped inclusions embedded in a pedestal geometry guiding 10 modes in the C-band. It has been optimized numerically so as to reach the equalized amplification of all the signal modes. The fiber has been realized and combined with custom-made dual-wavelength mode multiplexers based on multi-plane light conversion to shape the signal and pump beams. Amplification properties have finally been evaluated experimentally.

We report on the experimental influence of filter shape on the dynamic of an all-fiber Mamyshev oscillator. Significant variation of output pulse energy and various regimes (harmonic mode-locking, multipulses) are observed.

All-optical wavelength conversion of dual-polarization signals over 9.6 nm in C+L-band is demonstrated in a twin-core highly nonlinear fibre for the first time. Conversion efficiencies between -1 dB and -8.5 dB for both cores are obtained simultaneously.

We present the experimental investigation of timing jitter and relative intensity noise of a Mamyshev ring oscillator operating in the fundamental mode-lock regime. We find that both timing jitter and intensity noise spectra are correlated to the output optical power with noise increase close to the loss of the mode-locking. In addition, we have investigated the dependence of the spectral filters wavelength separation on both timing jitter and intensity noise showing a severe degradation with filters overlapping.

We present a narrow-bandwidth (167 pm) few-nanosecond fiber laser based on tapered fiber amplification and phase modulation to mitigate stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). We compare the use of chirped diode seeding and standard sinusoidal phase modulation. Below SBS appearance threshold, output temporal profiles can be accurately tailored. Typical results for flat-top profiles include 170 kW peak-power (for 3 ns duration) and 1.25 mJ pulse energy (for 10 ns duration).
