The winter of 2022/23 has seen a huge increase in energy prices in the UK, as in many other countries in the world. We developed a survey to assess energy use practices during this winter. The survey was sent as a postal letter to 12,001 households on 02/02/2023. The letter contained in addition to the survey copy a weblink where householders could fill in the survey online. A reminder was sent 24/03/2023 with no additional paper copy included. The sample consisted of those ~12K households who form the SERL participant base (https://beta.ukdataservice.ac.uk/datacatalogue/studies/study?id=8666#!/resources). For all participants, SERL holds half-hourly smart meter data, both gas and electricity where available).
