A recent study conducted at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts has identified a novel gene, FAM222A, that plays a key role in endothelial biology and angiogenesis. The study found that FAM222A is regulated by BRD4, a protein involved in transcriptional responses induced by pathogenic stimuli. The researchers used RNA-Seq data to analyze the effects of BET inhibition on endothelial cells and found that silencing FAM222A decreased cellular proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis, while overexpression had the opposite effects.
