Background: Monitoring the adherence of pregnant women to taking iron supplements indicates controlling the appropriateness of taking a certain number of supplements. This increases the odds of effective iron absorption; a process that occurs by consuming at least 30 iron pills a month to prevent gestational anemia. This study aimed to determine the effects of monitoring pregnant women's compliance in taking up iron supplements through an Android application in Jambi City, Indonesia. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental single group study with a pre-test-post-test design. The study subjects included 50 pregnant women in their third trimester referring to 3 maternity Hospitals in Jambi City, Indonesia, in 2020. Initial data were obtained through Hemoglobin (Hb) measurements before being given a monitoring application and subsequent Hb level checks after giving the application. The obtained data were analyzed by t-test and Mann-Whitney U test in SPSS v. 16. A significance level of 5% was considered. Results: The results obtained in the initial examination indicated that the minimum Hb level was equal to 7.3 g/dL and the maximum level was measured as 11.2 g/dL. After the intervention, the Hb level increased to a minimum of 7.6 g/dL and a maximum of 12.2 g/dL. The Mann-Whitney U test data suggested a significant difference in the degree of compliance of pregnant women with iron supplementation (P=0.010). Conclusion: Monitoring through the Android application increased pregnant women's compliance with taking iron supplements and presented a linear impact on increasing their Hb level. Objectives: Nausea is one of the most important symptoms of patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study aims to determine the effects of aromatherapy with sour lemon on nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: A total of 50 patients undergoing chemotherapy were randomly assigned to experimental and placebo (control) groups. The two groups completed the visual analogue scale for nausea before and the first to the fourth week after starting the intervention. The intervention was performed during chemotherapy. Using a dropper, a paper towel was saturated with 3 drops of sour lemon essential oil; however, for the control group, 3 mL of water as a placebo was spread on a paper towel. The intervention in the experimental and control groups was performed once a week for 4 weeks during weekly chemotherapy sessions. Results: At the beginning of the study, no significant difference was observed between the mean score of nausea in the two groups (P>0.05). The first to the fourth week after starting the intervention, significant differences were observed between the mean score of nausea in the two groups (P<0.05). The results of the repeated measures analysis of variance indicated that the mean score of nausea changed over time in the experimental group, indicating a gradual decrease in the mean score of nausea (P<0.05). Objectives: Violence against women is a global public health problem. Although there has been much research done on violence against women, there are few studies that provide the current scientific production. Methods: In this study, bibliometric analysis has been used to evaluate the 1984 documents from 1986 to 2020 based on the Scopus database. These documents were analyzed quantitatively by the Bibliometric R Package and the VOS viewer software. In addition, the 20 top-cited papers were analyzed qualitatively. Results: The research findings show that the United States is a leader in this field with the most highly cited articles and also the greatest number of publications followed by the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. A total of 1984 documents were collected from the Scopus database and were analyzed in the Bibliometric R Research Package and the VOSviewer software. The results demonstrated that the average citations per year for each document were 23.39% and the annual scientific production growth rate was 16.86%. The keywords analysis indicates that most articles focus on "sexual violence", "sexual assault", "intimate partner violence", "violence against women", "sexual abuse", "domestic violence", "child sexual abuse", "prevention", and "rape." Sources such as the "Journal of Interpersonal Violence", "Journal of Violence Against Woman", "Journal of Violence and Victims", "Psychology of Women Quarterly", "Journal of Adolescent Health", "Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology", "American Journal of Public Health", "Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology", and "American Journal of Public Health", and "The Lancet" are the top most productive in this field. Background: Dysphagia is a common complication in patients with stroke. Although the research on acupuncture treatment of dysphagia has stepped up, the results are still inconsistent. In this review, we intend to answer the potential of acupuncture in treating dysphagia in stroke patients and which acupuncture points are the most promising for treating dysphagia. Methods: We used PRISMA (the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis) 2020 guidelines in conducting this review. A literature search was performed in four databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, Cochrane, and Willey online library) to find eligible randomized controlled studies that assessed the effect of acupuncture in post-stroke dysphagia. The search time is from 2010 to 2022. Study quality was assessed using the critical appraisal skills program (CASP), and the risk of bias was evaluated by the RoB software, version 2 (risk-of-bias tool). The data were analyzed thematically. Results: A systematic electronic search identified 1409 publications through forward and backward searching of relevant papers. The full-text screening was conducted on 777 articles. A total of 681 articles failed to meet eligibility criteria at this stage, and only 6 articles were finally eligible for further analysis. The results showed that compared with rehabilitation, acupuncture significantly improved dysphagia in post-stroke patients. Gallbladder (GB) 20 is often used as an acupoint. In addition, the frequency and duration of treatment also contributed to a more significant increase in dysphagia improvement. Purpose: This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis centered on recent advancements in injury prevention for female athletes. Methods: The study employed Excel, VOSviewer, and the bibliometric R-package tools to analyze and evaluate relevant records obtained from the Web of Science (WOS) database, using a reliable search methodology. Results: From the WOS database, a collection of 10 560 scientific records was acquired using specific keywords, covering the period between 2010 and 2023. These records were subjected to content analysis, revealing the prevalent themes in this research area. Noteworthy topics included risk, risk factors, prevention, women, exercise, physical activity, epidemiology, injuries, performance, injury, strength, and health. The investigation also indicated that the journals "American journal of sports medicine" and "journal of athletic training" demonstrated the highest level of activity in this field. Regarding research productivity, developed countries, such as the United States and Canada stood out as the most prolific contributors. Moreover, the study recognized Gregory D Myer as the most active author in this area. Conclusion: The convergence of injury prevention in female athletes continues to be a subject of significant research attention. This study highlights that the bulk of the literature on this subject originates from researchers in developed countries. However, it is crucial to recognize that a substantial segment of the global population, particularly in developing nations, lacks sufficient representation in research related to early life psychology concerning exercise and physical activity. Purpose: One of the most significant contributors to lower extremity degeneration alterations and its effects on balance and sports performance is dynamic knee valgus (DKV) as a faulty movement pattern. Different exercise interventions have been conducted to improve DKV. Extensive research and meta-objective analysis were conducted to assess how exercise interventions affected people with lower extremity functional indicators of DKV. Methods: The electronic databases Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), PubMed, Google Scholar, and Iranian databases SID and Magiran were systematically searched from inception to September 2021. Only full-text articles published in English/Persian peer-reviewed journals that met this study criterion were tracked. Two researchers evaluated the methodological quality of research findings separately, employing the Downs and Black Checklist. After collecting significant data from eligible studies, the results were integrated by applying a random-effects meta-analysis approach. Results: The final systematic review and meta-analysis comprised seven of the 3470 papers deemed potentially relevant. The outcome illustrates that different exercise interventions may be effective in improving dynamic balance (SD=0.93 degrees, 95%CI: 0.54-1.32, P<0.001) and functional performance (Hedge's g=1.695, 95% CI=1.22-2.17, Z=6.99, P<0.001) in 250 DKV participants. Conclusion: Exercise interventions appear to be an effective method to enhance dynamic balance and functional performance in individuals experiencing DKV; nevertheless, these results should be regarded as preliminary due to the limited number of studies and their limitations. Objective Nowadays, organizations and institutions evaluate their performance to ensure that they are taking the right steps towards their goals and missions. In this regard, universities and research institutes assess their success in achieving their goals by analyzing their scientific outputs and productions. This study aims to investigate the scientific productions and collaborations of the authors affiliated with the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWRS) in Scopus database in comparison with five medical universities. Materials & Methods This study, using scientometric techniques, was conducted on June 5, 2021. The information about scientific productions of the USWRS and other five universities of Golestan University of Medical Sciences, Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, Semnan University of Medical Sciences, Hamedan University of Medical Sciences, Zanjan University of Medical Sciences were identified were extracted from the Scopus database and then converted into scalable format in Sci2 software. The output was then plotted in VOSviewer software. Results The mean number of authors for the USWRS in each article was 9, and the highest scientific collaborations was with the authors from United States, United Kingdom and Sweden. The authors for the USWRS also had a significant co-authorship with each other. According to the national ranking, this university was ranked 23 lower than Hamedan University of Medical Sciences and Golestan University of Medical Sciences. In terms of the number of published papers, it was in the second place after Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. The level of international cooperation of this university was more than other compared universities. Conclusion It seems that the USWRS's scientific policy has been successful in increasing the scientific productions. Objectives: Accurate scientific planning and societal macro policies require reviewing and evaluating research output. Scientometrics offers a valuable approach for assessing the activity of journals that publish a majority of scientific productions. This study aims to analyze the scientific activity of the Iranian Rehabilitation Journal (IRJ) by examining its publication history in the Scopus database. Methods: This bibliometric analysis adopts a scientometrics approach and includes all documents published in IRJ indexed in the Scopus database. Data collection and analysis were performed using VOSviewer and Excel software. Results: IRJ has been active since 2003, initially publishing seven articles in the Scopus database. The journal boasts an H-index 11 and has produced 701 documents over 20 years. The citation score for the journal in 2022 was approximately 0.6. The University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences had the highest number of affiliated articles (n=395). The most productive author was “Dadkhah” with 42 documents; the most cited author was “Masah”. Most documents are articles written in English, and the most frequently used keyword is “Rehabilitation”. Discussion: This study offers an overview of the status of IRJ, indicating an increasing trend in the number of documents published and citations received since its establishment. Objective Postoperative rehabilitation protocols, such as immobilization and non-weight-bearing periods during the acute phase after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery vary depending on the surgeon or the institution and lack clear standardization. Weight bearing (WB) after ACL reconstruction (ACLR) is critical. This study compares the results of WB immediately after surgery and partial WB with a brace after ACLR. Materials & Methods In this randomized clinical trial, the block random sampling method was used to select 84 patients who were divided into two groups. Group 1 was allowed to have full WB after surgery and Group 2 was asked to use braces after surgery, and they were divided into partial WB for one month and then full WB. Meanwhile, demographic information was recorded. The Lachman test, anterior knee pain, and kneeling pain before and one month after the surgery were also recorded. Knee function was evaluated using the international knee documentation committee, knee injury and osteoarthritis out-come score, and Lysholm scales before surgery and 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery. The data were analyzed using the SPSS software, version 20, and the Fisher exact test, the chi-square test, the Friedman test, and repeated measures analysis of variance. Results Most of the patients were men under 30 years of age. There was no statistically significant difference in the demographic information of the patients in the two groups. Kneeling pain, anterior knee pain, and the Lachman test did not differ between the two groups one month after the surgery. There was no difference between the two groups in the scores using the international knee documentation committee, knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score, and Lysholm score in the 6-month follow-up. All the examined indicators in each group improved over time. Objective Auditory processing disorder (APD) tests, based on the deviation of results from standard benchmarks, can distinguish children suspected of having APD. Some of these tests directly relate to the ability to discriminate sound pitch, while others may be indirectly affected. Accordingly, this study investigates the impact of pitch discrimination-based rehabilitation on diagnostic indices of APD tests. Materials & Methods In this study, we selected 19 children suspected of APD who were identified based on tests of pitch pattern, dichotic digits, and monaural selective auditory attention as the intervention group. These children received pitch discrimination-based training, for about three months, two to three sessions a week, each session up to 1 h. After completing the rehabilitation phases, diagnostic tests were administered again. We also selected 26 children with similar diagnostic criteria for APD as the control group. No intervention was applied to this group, and after a comparable period to the intervention group, diagnostic tests were re-administered. The results before and after the interventions were compared within the intervention group and with the 26 children in the control group. Results The rehabilitation showed significant improvements in the pitch pattern and monaural selective auditory attention tests. In the monaural selective auditory attention test, significant improvements were observed in both ears (P=0.001). In the pitch pattern test, effective improvements were also observed for both ears (P=0.001). The effects were such that nearly 37% of children suspected of APD, based on the diagnostic criteria used in the study, no longer met the criteria for this disorder. Hence, if the same tests are re-administered to them, these children will be diagnosed as having no auditory processing disorder. Conclusion Discrimination-based rehabilitation impacts the results of APD tests. Accordingly, some children who are classified as suspected auditory processing disorder with such tests, are removed from this subgroup after the intervention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective Lower limb deformity in children with cerebral palsy (CP) is a common musculoskeletal problem and planovalgus is the most prevalent, characterized by talus median subluxation, calcaneal valgus, and supinated forefoot. According to studies, one issue in orthopedics and pathology is the accurate diagnosis and proper treatment of planovalgus deformity in children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy, which has attracted researchers’ attention. Accordingly, the present study investigates the effect of planovalgus deformity on the motor performance and balance of these children. Materials & Methods This cross-sectional study employed a descriptive-analytical design. The convenient sampling method was used among children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy, diagnosed with unilateral planovalgus, who were referred to the clinics of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (Nezam Mafi) and occupational therapy clinics from September 2022 to February 2023 in Tehran City, Iran. Meanwhile, all participants were willing to cooperate in this research. A total of 27 participants were evaluated by an occupational therapist based on the specified criteria and gross motor function classification system (GMFCS), which included the assessments of balance, muscle strength, range of motion, and pain. Data analysis was done using the SPSS software, version 16. Results The results revealed a statistically significant difference between the mean range of motion of ankle dorsiflexion and knee extension between the two limbs (P<0.001). The mean muscle strength of the quadriceps and ankle plantar flexors indicated a statistically significant difference in the affected limb (P<0.001). Additionally, the mean displacement of the center of pressure of the foot also demonstrated a statistically significant difference regarding topographical involvement (P<0.001). Conclusion Planovalgus deformity is one of the most common ankle deformities, which is of great concern for children with cerebral palsy. The results obtained from the assessments of the child’s balance and motor function demonstrated the importance of assessment strategies and early interventions to achieve better rehabilitation outcomes for children with CP and planovalgus deformity. Objective Patient-centered care is the cornerstone of the healthcare system’s priorities. Attaining this goal necessitates a comprehensive understanding of patients’ encounters within the healthcare system to identify areas for quality improvement. To achieve this, healthcare providers and regulators require dependable, cost-effective, and user-friendly tools to assess and report the quality of patients’ healthcare experiences as part of ongoing service quality audits. The Waterloo Wilfrid Laurier University rehabilitation patient experience instrument (WatLX) is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring patients’ experiences in outpatient rehabilitation services. Accordingly, this study explores the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the WatLX in Persian-speaking people receiving outpatient rehabilitation services. Materials & Methods In this descriptive methodological study, we enrolled 115 adults aged 18 and above, possessing a suitable cognitive level, who had undergone at least one program of musculoskeletal, neurological, stroke, speech, and language rehabilitation services on an outpatient basis. The research targeted 10 centers and clinics specializing in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, strategically selected across five geographical areas of Tehran (North, South, East, West, and Center) in the year 2023, utilizing an available sampling method. The participants were asked to complete the following three questionnaires: WatLX, abbreviated mental test, and the Medrisk instrument for measuring patient satisfaction with physical therapy care. Additionally, participants’ background information was collected. The Persian-translated questionnaire was examined for face and content validity using the Lavashe method. The convergent validity was established through comparison with the Medrisk questionnaire. The Cronbach α value was computed to evaluate the internal consistency, while the test re-test reliability involved 39 subjects completing the questionnaire again 15 days after the initial test, with calculating the intraclass correlation coefficient. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software, version 23. Results The questionnaire underwent rigorous scrutiny for content validity by experts in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, rehabilitation management, and statistics. The results revealed strong internal consistency (Cronbach α=0.802), high test re-test reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient=0.974), and satisfactory convergent validity, demonstrated by the significant Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.503 with the Medrisk questionnaire. Conclusion The Persian version of the WatLX tool exhibits commendable psychometric properties, making it a reliable instrument for assessing the experiences of Persian-speaking Iranian patients in outpatient rehabilitation services. Objective Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are one of dentists’ most common occupational health problems. Human error is considered one of the critical factors of medical error. Musculoskeletal abnormality due to inappropriate work postures and mental workload are two important causes of human error in dental operations. Hence, this study investigates dentists’ mental workload and the incidence of skeletal-muscular disorders. Materials & Methods A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in Shahid Shukri Dental Hospital in 2021. The sampling was done via the targeted sampling method and 42 individuals were included in the study. The NASA task load index and the Nordic questionnaire were used to collect the data. Data analysis was done using the SPSS software, version 26, at the significance level of 0.05. Results The average percentage of disorders were as follows: Neck area=30.1%, left shoulder=11.76%, right shoulder=13.74%, right elbow=9.23%, left elbow=6.56%, right wrist=28%, left-hand wrist=25.06%, upper back area=20.1%, waist=13.8%, hip and thigh=17.1%, knee=26% and ankle=23.46%. Age and work experience had a significant relationship with the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (P<0.05). The effort component with a Mean±SD of 74.95±22.16 received the highest score and discouragement with a Mean±SD of 49.92±26 got the lowest score compared to other components. The central sterilization department, with a mean of 67.41±24.86, exhibited a higher mental workload than other departments. In contrast, the admission department, with a mean of 50.72±26.59, reported a lower mental workload than other cases. Conclusion Musculoskeletal disorders are related to workload and work capacity. Creating suitable working conditions, providing more training programs to employees, and strengthening their mental workload capacity can help prevent occupational injuries in the workplace. Objective Autism is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders. It causes problems in social cognition, communication, and understanding of self and others’ feelings, and has a negative effect on the quality of a person’s life. The present study determines the effectiveness of the Cogniplus cognitive training program on the social cognition (theory of mind (ToM) of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Materials & Methods In a semi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test design, and a control group with a two-month follow-up, 65 children (44 male and 21 female) from 6 to 11 years old with ASD were selected based on the convenience sampling method from individuals referred to one of autism rehabilitation centers in Shahr-e-Ray City, Iran. They were assessed by the autism spectrum screening questionnaire (ASSQ). Overall, 50 children (33 male and 17 female) with a score of 19 and above on the autism spectrum screening questionnaire were diagnosed with high-functioning autism. They entered into the study according to the inclusion criteria as follows: having speech ability, the absence of motor or intellectual disability, and visual and hearing impairments. Meanwhile, they were matched based on their age. They were randomly and equally assigned to two experimental and control groups. The parents completed the ToM test. The experimental group participated individually in 20 sessions (twice a week, 30 min per session), in the Cogniplus cognitive training program, but the control group only received mainstream services (occupational therapy, speech therapy, art therapy, and music therapy). The parents completed the ToM test in the last session and two months follow-up. The data were analyzed by the correlation analysis, analysis of regression, and generalized estimating equations in the SPSS software, version 27. Results The results of generalized estimating equations analysis showed that the Cogniplus cognitive training program improved social cognition (total, first level, and second level of ToM). Meanwhile, the β coefficient showed that 2.9, 3.08, and 0.96 of the variations, respectively, in the ToM levels as the first, the second, and the total, in children with ASD who received Cogniplus cognitive training program. Also, the variations lasted after a two-month follow-up. Conclusion Considering the positive effect of the Cogniplus cognitive training program on social cognition, the use of the Cogniplus cognitive training program can solve the need for therapists who have new cognitive insight into training. Objectives: This study assesses the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of physiotherapists regarding non-specific chronic low back pain (NSCLBP) and explores their impact on treatment selection, ultimately enhancing quality outcomes. Methods: A total of 107 participants were involved in the study. The questionnaire comprised three sections: Demographic information, evaluation of participants' pain beliefs and attitudes using the pain attitudes and beliefs scale for physiotherapists scale and frequently employed treatment selection and plans for managing NSCLBP. The questionnaire was distributed via e-mail, WhatsApp and social media platforms using Google Forms. Results: Responses were gathered from 107 physiotherapists in India through the Google Form. Treatment orientation revealed 43.4% biomedical and 30.7% bio-psychosocial approaches. Objectives: This study assesses the frequency of depression, anxiety, and stress in formal and informal caregivers of autistic children in Karachi City, Pakistan. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among caregivers of autistic children in specified centers in Karachi City, Pakistan. There were 255 participants out of which 111 were formal caregivers and 144 were informal caregivers. Depression, anxiety, and stress scale (DASS) was used to collect the data. The chi-square test was used to determine the relationship between the frequency of depression anxiety and stress among the two groups. Results: A total of 76.3% of informal caregivers were suffering from mild depression, 59.3% were moderately depressed, and 76.5% were severely depressed (P<0.01). Similarly, 72.4% had mild anxiety, 68.2% were moderately anxious, and 50.5% were severely anxious (P<0.01). In addition, 75.0% demonstrated mild, 71.1% moderate, 85.7% severe, and 95.0% extremely severe stress (P<0.01). However, there were no significant levels of depression, anxiety, and stress found among formal caregivers. Discussion: Depression, anxiety and stress were more commonly present in parents of autistic children (informal caregivers) as compared to formal caregivers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: This study examines the impacts of health-related quality of life (QoL) on children who suffer from cerebral palsy, in addition to sociodemographic characteristics and other aspects. Methods: Children who suffer from cerebral palsy (CP) who were referred to a Rehabilitation and Rheumatology Clinic in Bagdad, Iraq, were the subjects of a cross-sectional research. The primary data were gathered from parents and kids via a questionnaire. The CP module for The pediatric QoL inventory 3.0 in Arabic was used. The period of August 2022 to February 2023 was used for gathering the data. Researchers evaluated participants using the body mass index (BMI) and the gross motor function classification system. Data analysis was done using SPSS software, version 26 and involved calculating Mean±SD, reporting descriptive statistics, and testing random distribution assumptions. Reliability was assessed via the Cronbach α coefficient and interference analysis, with a considerable level set at P≤0.05. Results: This research enrolled 139 children of which 55.7% were male and the mean age was 5.7 years. The greatest age group was 5 years (51.1%), 59.7% of children were categorized in levels (III, IV and V) and the majority had a low QoL. Objectives: Painful trigger points (PTP) may be caused or exacerbated by many factors, including abnormal spinal posture. This study compares PTP in the shoulder and scapular areas of mildly kyphotic subjects versus subjects with a normal spine among physiotherapy (PT) students enrolled at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz City, Iran. Methods: A total of 60 PT students, 30 with mild kyphosis and 30 with a normal spine, were randomly and voluntarily recruited. The data collection was planned based on the subjects' spinal posture, shoulder and scapular pain levels, and the intensity of pain evoked in response to pressure. The spinal posture was assessed using a flexible ruler, while the trigger points were evaluated as described previously by Travell and Simon. A digital pressure algometer assessed the subjects' pain thresholds, and the pain levels were quantified using a visual analog scale (VAS). Results: The data indicated significant differences between the mildly kyphotic subjects and individuals with a normal thoracic spine posture concerning their trigger points, pain scales, and pressure thresholds that caused pain. Despite the significant differences between both groups for their latent trigger points, the mean scores for the active trigger points were not significantly different. Discussion: There were more trigger points in students with mild kyphosis than in subjects with a normal spine posture. Meanwhile, mild thoracic kyphosis, likely from imbalanced paraspinal muscles, may be linked to the development and or severity of trigger point pain in mildly kyphotic students. Objectives: Considering the high prevalence of neck pain among dental professionals, as well as its adverse effects on the work activities and quality of life of dentists, this study investigates the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in dental students in addition to the relationship between the severity of neck pain and the ability to perform work. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 108 senior dental students and residents participated. The data were collected through four questionnaires, including body map, neck pain and disability scale, neck disability index and work ability index. The data were analyzed through the SPSS software, version 25. Meanwhile, a P<0.05 was considered a significance level. Results: In this study, 85 out of 180 individuals (87.7%) experienced at least one musculoskeletal disorder. The most reported pain was in the neck (45.4%), back (36.1%), and right shoulder (31.5%), respectively. There was a relatively positive and significant relationship between neck pain intensity and inability to perform daily work (R=0.717, P≤0.01). Also, there was a reverse and significant relationship between neck pain intensity and the ability to work (R=0.384, P≤0.01). Discussion: Musculoskeletal disorders are high among dental students and residents in universities of Tehran City, Iran. Meanwhile, neck pain is the most common disorder. Objectives: The present study aims to address the psychological motivations behind social media use, focusing on its under-explored regulatory function in the context of coping strategies and emotional regulation among teachers. This exploratory research explores the relationship between social media engagement and its impact on educators' stress management and emotional regulation mechanisms. Methods: To investigate this relationship, the study utilized two key instruments: The coping inventory for stressful situations and the Italian version of the difficulties in emotion regulation scale. These tools were administered to a sample of 214 Italian teachers, predominantly female (90.7%), with ages ranging from 25 to 65 years (Mean±SD 47.19±9.02 years). The study employed correlation analysis to assess the associations between social media use in addition to various coping and emotional regulation strategies. Results: The correlation analysis revealed a nuanced relationship between the usage of certain social media platforms and a higher inclination toward a problem-oriented coping style, alongside a decreased sense of a lack of negative emotional control. Accordingly, while social media can serve as a tool for problem-oriented coping, it may also hinder the ability to disengage from negative emotional states. Discussion: The results of this study shed light on the potential of social media as a resource and a challenge in the emotional and professional lives of teachers. By identifying specific coping strategies that are positively and negatively associated with social media use, the research points toward possible interventions that could mitigate the adverse effects of social media. This could include developing targeted support mechanisms to enhance teachers' ability to manage stress and regulate emotions effectively, thereby optimizing their use of social media in a way that supports their psychological well-being. Objectives: The high prevalence of borderline personality disorder, along with comorbid psychiatric disorders and impulsive reactions (suicide attempts, self-mutilation, substance use, and impulsive behaviors) increase the need for effective psychological interventions. In this study, the effectiveness of dialectical behavior skills training based on the Soler method and family education with individual therapies are compared in this group of patients. Methods: In this single-blind case study, eight cases were selected through a targeted sampling method based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The participants were divided into two groups: Intervention individually and individual intervention with family education. Both group members and the family members of the second group received dialectical behavior skills training based on the Soler model. The participants completed the borderline personality inventory, self-harm inventory, and Barratt impulsivity scale in four stages: At the beginning of the sessions, in the middle of the treatment, at the end of the treatment, and three months after treatment. Results: The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, Friedman test, and Mann-Whitney U test. The results indicate the effectiveness of the dialectical behavior skills training method based on the Soler model in reducing symptoms of borderline personality disorder and selfmutilation, as well as emotion regulation improvement at the significant level of P=0.05. Discussion: This treatment is recommended as an effective and short-term method for controlling symptoms of borderline personality disorder. Objectives: Since December 2019, COVID-19 spread worldwide. Patients with COVID-19 are at high hazard for dysphagia. This study investigates the incidence of dysphagia in COVID-19 patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and identifies predictors of dysphagia in COVID-19 patients. Methods: This prospective study analyzed 100 COVID-19 patients admitted to the ICU of Firoozgar Hospital in Tehran City, Iran. The demographic and clinical features of the eligible patients were collected. Dysphagia and cognition were evaluated according to the Persian version of functional oral intake (FOIS-P) status and the Rancho Los Amigos scale (RLAS). The qualitative variables are described in frequency and percentages and the quantitative variables are illustrated by Mean±SD. Also, univariate and multivariate cox regression was performed to predict possible relations between demographic and clinical variables with dysphagia. Results: A total of 100 COVID-19 patients (43.3±13.3 years, 55% were men) who were admitted to the ICUs were appraised by speech and language pathologists. Meanwhile, 70% of the subjects had at least one comorbidity, with the most common ones being diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Also, 74% of patients were on invasive mechanical ventilation (60% through endotracheal tube and 40% through tracheostomy). In addition, 57% of patients presented dysphagia. Age (odd ratio (OR)=1.127; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.019%, 1.247%; P=0.02) and level of consciousness (OR=0.393; 95% CI, 0.178%, 0.868%; P=0.021) were predictors of dysphagia. Discussion: Dysphagia was prevalent among COVID-19 patients predicted by age and level of consciousness. Objectives: Cerebral palsy (CP) can cause motor, sensory, cognitive, and communicative problems and poor feeding performances in children. Feeding problems could be lifethreatening and negatively affect cognitive and physical growth. This study investigates the frequency of response to oral motor skills, the frequency and severity of feeding problems, and the relationship between age and oral motor skills with feeding problems in children with CP aged 2 to 7 years. Methods: This was an observational and cross-sectional study. The participants were 60 children (26 girls and 34 boys) with CP with a mean age of 4.76±1.71 years. The screening tool for eating problems and oral motor assessment scale assessed participants' feeding and oral motor skills. The Spearman test determined the correlation between age and oral motor dysfunctions with feeding problems. Results: The present study revealed that 80% of participants indicated feeding problems in the screening tool of the eating problems test. Problems with feeding skills (51.5%) were the most frequent. Furthermore, the most frequent response of participants to "closing the lips while feeding with a spoon" was 46.7%, and "sucking with straw," equaled 55.0%," which was passive. For other items, the most frequent response of the examinees was "functional." Finally, the results showed no significant correlation (P<0.05) between age and mean scores of frequency and severity of feeding problems. A significant negative correlation was found between mean scores of oral motor skill with frequency (P<0.001, r=-0.476) and severity (P=0.001, r=-0.424) of feeding problems. Discussion: The majority of children with CP have problems with feeding and oral motor skills. Objectives: The development of effective connections between nurses and parents depends heavily on nurses' empathy. Parenting strategies and attitudes have an impact on the emotional connection between parents and children in a variety of scenarios. Accordingly, this descriptive correlation study evaluates the level of empathy and investigates the relationship between parenting styles and the empathy of nurses. Methods: A purposive (non-probability) sample of 180 nurses was recruited in the current study and selected from four teaching hospitals in Kerbala City, Iraq, according to specific criteria. A pilot study was used to assess the questionnaire's reliability, and a panel of (17) experts was used to determine the questionnaire's content validity. The data were collected through interviews using two scales, namely the parental authority questionnaire, and the Jefferson scale of empathy physician/health professions. The data were investigated and interpreted using the SPSS software, version 22. Numbers and percentages were used to illustrate the quantitative qualities. The Spearmen coefficient was applied to evaluate the relationships between the study variables. The significance level was considered a P=0.05. Results: Nurses have a low level of empathy. There are significant correlations between the father's and mother's parenting styles (authoritative, permissive, and authoritarian dimensions) and empathy. In addition, there is a substantial association between nurses' empathy and job desire. Discussion: Nurse empathy is vital for building strong connections with parents. Parenting styles affect the parent-child emotional bond in various situations. The study on parental rearing patterns and empathy among nurses at teaching hospitals revealed that nurses who have low empathy levels and parenting styles significantly relate to empathy. Nurses' empathy also impacts their job satisfaction. The study recommends adopting the authoritative parenting style to enhance empathy. Awareness programs through various media should educate parents about positive and negative parenting styles and their effects on children's futures. By promoting empathy and supportive parenting, parents can nurture empathetic and well-adjusted individuals. Objectives: Fatigue leads to an increase in joint restoration errors because of nervous system fatigue and a lack of understanding of joint position and imbalance that may be due to the changes in walking patterns and excessive pressure on bones and soft tissue structures, which may ultimately lead to injuries in climbers. Accordingly, this study investigates the effect of fatigue on the restoration error of the knee and ankle joint angles. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study. A total of 35 mountaineers aged 20-35 years were selected by the non-random sampling method. This research was conducted on September 10, 2022, at the Tochal Climbing Rout in Velenjak, Tehran City, Iran. The tests were taken before and after a mountaineering program for a distance of 8 km at an average speed. The position sense of knee and ankle joints was evaluated using the Mobimed, which is a type of electrogoniometer. The normal distribution of the data was statistically analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and the data were analyzed using the paired t-test. The SPSS software, version 24, was used for all statistical operations (P≤0.05). Results: The findings showed that fatigue causes errors and significant changes in the restoration of knee and ankle joint angles and 30° (P=0.003), 45° (P=0.004), 60° (P=0.007), dorsiflexion of 10° (P=0.009) and plantar flexion of 20° (P=0.001), the restoration and sense of position is disturbed, which shows that fatigue is effective in understanding the state of the joints. Discussion: Fatigue increases the error of restoration of the knee and ankle joint angles, which can reduce the optimal performance of the muscles around the joints by reducing the person's understanding of the angles and the sense of the joint position. Objectives: Hand function impairment causes limitations in activities of daily living among stroke survivors. Dexteria app therapy is a game-based therapy with the use of a touchscreen gadget that involves various hand movements. This study evaluates the effect of Dexteria app therapy on hand function in sub-acute stroke survivors. Methods: This study included 26 subacute stroke survivors, randomly allocated into 2 groups as follows: Group A (n=13) received conventional hand therapy while group B (n=13) received Dexteria app therapy. Both groups received 21 sixty-min therapy sessions. Gross hand function and fine manipulative hand function were assessed using the Brunnstrom hand recovery voluntary control grades and the Jebsen hand function test, respectively. Results: Inter-group comparison using the Wilcoxon rank sum test of the mean difference between groups A and B showed a significant difference in the Brunnstrom hand recovery voluntary control grades Z value which equaled -3.272 with P=0.001 and Jebsen hand function test Z=-3.0 and P=0.002. Objectives: Diabetic foot syndrome is becoming increasingly common in India with a prevalence ranging from 24.9% to 49%. Diabetic foot syndrome patients have an increased likelihood of developing ulcers in their feet. Accordingly, this study evaluates the influence of photobiomodulation on altered plantar pressure distribution and ankle biomechanics in individuals with diabetic foot syndrome. Methods: A total of 20 diabetic foot syndrome patients with an absence of 10 g monofilament in one out of six sites at the plantar surface of feet, a biothesiometer for vibration perception threshold of >20 V, and diminished or absent ankle reflexes were included. The evaluation of ankle biomechanics was performed by SIMI motion analysis. In addition, the plantar pressure distribution was measured by the WinTrack pressure platform at baseline and the end of 10 sessions. They were treated with scanning mode on the foot plantar surface and probe laser at the popliteal fossa region for three sessions per week, for ten sessions. Results: Plantar pressure parameters were significantly improved (P<0.01) and ankle biomechanics (P<0.01) after the intervention, respectively, except for no significant difference in the total contact area and ankle midstance kinematics. Objective Adolescents with visual impairments have less opportunity to adapt emotionally to the environment and, as a result, experience more social and academic problems. One of the most critical needs of adolescence is maintaining emotional balance while confronting the stressful factors of puberty and environmental expectations. As visual impairment adversely influences adolescents' emotional maturity, helping teenagers adapt to challenging conditions is one of the main goals of a social and educational system. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on the emotional maturity of female adolescents with visual impairment. Materials & Methods The current quasi-experimental study employed a pre-test and post-test and a follow-up design with a control group. A total of 82 females aged 14 to 18 from an educational community special for visually impaired individuals were assessed using the emotional maturity scale (EMS) in the academic year 2020-2021. Among the 33 volunteers who scored 180 and above in the EMS, 28 individuals were selected according to the inclusion criteria and matched based on their age and educational level via convenience sampling. All participants were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (14 individuals each). The experimental group attended 10 therapeutic sessions and received acceptance and commitment group therapy for two months (twice a week, 60 minutes per session). However, the control group only participated in the educational community's make-up empowering programs (including lessons curriculum plans and music training). All participants completed the EMS after the last intervention session and then 8 weeks later as a follow-up. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene test, M. Box test, multivariate analysis of covariance, and dependent t-test by SPSS software, version 22. Results The results of the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene test, and M. Box test confirmed the normality of the distribution of scores, the homogeneity of variances, and the homogeneity of line slope, respectively. The results of multivariate analysis of covariance indicated that attendance of the experimental group in the acceptance and commitment group therapy sessions has led to a significant increase (P<0.05) in emotional maturity scores and its components: emotional stability, emotional progression, social adjustment, personality integration, and independence. Also, the ACT program changed the experimental group's emotional maturity and components as follows: 90%, 69%, 59%, 55%, 92%, and 68% for emotional stability, emotional progression, social adjustment, personality integration, and independence, respectively. In addition, the results of the dependent t-test to compare the emotional maturity of the experimental group in post-test and follow-up stages indicated that the effect of the group therapy has remained on emotional maturity and its areas even 8 weeks later (P<0.05). Objective This study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the "resilience assessment questionnaire" in patients with multiple sclerosis. Materials & Methods The statistical population of the present study included all multiple sclerosis patients living in Tehran City in 2022. Of them, 250 people were selected through available sampling. The participants completed the questionnaires of Gromis et al. resilience and the hospital anxiety and depression scales. The validity of the questionnaire was investigated using the formal, content, construct, and predictor methods. Also, the reliability of the test was checked through the Cronbach α method and retesting. Data analysis was done using SPSS software, version 26. Results The face validity was confirmed by checking the content and solving the appearance problems. The content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed after correcting the questions. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the resilience questionnaire includes 5 components: Emotional and cognitive strategies, physical activity and diet, family and friends support, peer support, and spirituality. Also, the Cronbach α values of these components were 0.88, 0.79, 0.62, 0.76, 0.50, and 0.89, respectively. The eigenvalues of these components explained 47.49% of the variance. There was a significant relationship between the resilience and anxiety/depression questionnaire components. The correlation value between the first and second stages confirmed the retest validity of the resilience questionnaire. Conclusion The Persian version of the "multiple sclerosis resilience" scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing resilience features in Iranian MS patients, which can be used in policymaking and research studies. Objective Communication skills have a principal function and value in health and treatment. These skills are essential for child experts, resulting in the clients' cooperation, satisfaction, and correct diagnosis. This study aims to design a scale to evaluate the communication skills of health center experts in children's developmental tests. Materials & Methods The research community consisted of experts from health centers in Iran universities of medical sciences. The samples were recruited by purpose-based sampling. This group of experts was used in health centers due to the training of selected experts to perform the developmental Bayley test. First, the evaluation concepts were determined and discussed through a literature review and focused group discussion sessions with 10 experts; the experts were asked to express their opinions and suggestions regarding compiling communication items using the Delphi method. Suggested comments were collected and coded, and the study scale was designed. Then, the psychometric characteristics of the scale were determined with the participation of 16 experts through quantitative content validity and face validity. The scale's reliability was determined through the test re-test with a 2-week interval, the agreement coefficient in observations was compared between raters and the reference rater, and internal consistency was done. Quantitative data analysis was done in SPSS software, version 22. Results In this study, the communication skills scale was designed with 30 items: 13 for communication with children, 6 for communication with parents, and 11 for general items. The lowest content validity index value was related to one item in the communication with the children section. The rest of the items had acceptable validity. The Cronbach α value was 0.81 in communication with the children, 0.82 in communication with the parents, and 0.76 in the general section. The reliability level was 0.83, and the intracluster correlation coefficient was 0.77 in communication with a child, 0.88 in communication with parents, and 0.81 in general. The kappa coefficient for agreement between reference observer and other observers was above 0.7 in 5 cases and less than 0.4 in 2 cases. Objective Insurance deductions are among the most important causes of hospital resource waste. Insurance deductions cause financial problems for hospitals and create tension between insurance organizations and hospitals. This study, done by the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, investigates the reasons for deductions of inpatient bills covered by Social Security Insurance in Rofeideh Rehabilitation Hospital Materials & Methods The study was conducted cross-sectionally on 776 cases admitted to Rofeidah Rehabilitation Hospital in 2021. All invoices for inpatient services sent to Social Security Insurance were reviewed using the census method. To collect data, invoices sent to Social Security, inpatient records and checklists, and a 31-question questionnaire of Mohammadkhani et al. were used. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive (frequency and percentage) and analytical statistics (the Spearman correlation coefficient) in SPSS software, version 23. Results According to the findings, the highest frequency of inpatient prescriptions was related to November 2021 (7.48%). The most frequent deductions of inpatients' bills were related to medicine and consumables to the amount of 310815448 Rails and surgeon's fees in 187728448 Rails. Also, the most common reasons were requesting a surcharge and wrong coding. In this study, there was a significant relationship between the documentation of nurses and doctors and the amount of deductions (P<0.0001). Conclusion Multiple causes affect the reduction of insurance deductions. Purpose: Shin splints are a common injury in the world of sports, causing pain along the inner edge of the tibial and impacting an athlete's performance and well-being. The study aims to examine how kinesio taping application affects pain, postural control, and plantar pressure parameters in athletes with shin splints. Methods: A placebo-controlled trial design was used, with 32 athletes with shin splints randomly assigned to either the kinesio taping group (KT=16) or the placebo group (PC=16). The KT group received kinesio tape with 75% tension applied to the affected shin, while the PC group received the same application without tension. Before and after the taping intervention, pain levels, postural control, and plantar pressure parameters were evaluated. Conclusion: These results suggest that kinesio tape can relieve pain in the short term and enhance postural control and plantar pressure distribution in athletes with shin splints. Purpose: The purpose of this research was to compare the effect of video games, training with catalogs, and face-to-face training of the FIFA +11 warm-up program on the level of acceptance and belief of football players. Methods: The current semi-experimental research was done on 240 male players and coaches present in the premier soccer league of Khorasan Province who were randomly divided into four groups: 11+ face-to-face exercises, catalog, video games, and control (60 people in each group). Electronic questionnaires on acceptance and knowledge were filled by players and coaches. Then, the subjects of the training groups performed the exercises in three 15-minute sessions per week for eight weeks. Kruskal-Wallis test and marginal mean were used to check differences between the groups. Results: After eight weeks of training, there was a significant difference in the knowledge and awareness of the players between the four groups (P<0.05). Also, the marginal average test results showed that the effect of these exercises on the level of knowledge and awareness of the players was greater in the face-to-face group than in other groups. Also, 33.3% of the players considered these exercises to be boring and 23.7% of the players considered the limitation of time to do other exercises and soccer skills as one of the factors that prevent them from doing the exercise. Conclusion: Football players had low levels of knowledge and awareness of 11+ exercises, which increased after eight weeks of 11+ exercises using face-to-face exercises, catalogs, and videos. Purpose: Intensive military training courses are among the programs and specialties of the police force. Musculoskeletal disorders in the military are one of the vital factors that keep people away from courses and shorten their service life. This research aims to measure the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in newly arrived students in the pre-service training course of the police force using the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center (OSTRC) questionnaire. Methods: For this purpose, 124 soldiers with a mean age of 20.7 years, a mean height of 178.5 cm, a mean weight of 72.9 kg, and a mean activity per week for 3 hours and 19 minutes in one of the training barracks affiliated to the Tehran Police Force and were selected and completed the OSTRC questionnaire every month for 6 months. The research design of this study is epidemiology and the results are presented descriptively. Results: The results of the research related to prevalence measurement on a monthly mean showed that ankles at 2.8%, knees at 2.2%, and waist at 1.8% respectively have the highest prevalence rates among soldiers. Also, among the harmful factors, the parade had the largest share with 22.5% and during 6 months, the second month had the highest number of injuries, and the sixth month had the lowest number of injuries. In terms of participation in exercises, 86.6% of soldiers participated in practical classes without any physical injuries during the six months. A total of 9.1% of the soldiers could not perform optimally and properly despite their full attendance in the practical classes due to physical injuries and finally, 3.8% of the participants, despite attending the practical classes, had to leave the class halfway due to the severity of the injury. Conclusion: What is clear is that the most affected areas are the central area and the lower limbs, and the spine of the back, head, neck, and upper limbs were not among the most damaged areas. Finally, it seems that the prevalence rate among the soldiers in training courses is acceptable and close to the average of global statistics. However, it is required to take preventive measures as well as plan to add classes and specialized exercises to strengthen physical fitness and specialized exercises related to improving the conditions of damaged areas. Purpose: Pronation in the foot is a normal rolling movement occurring at the subtalar joint during running. The human foot, as the primary interface with our environment, presents morphological and postural changes following prolonged running. This study aims to identify running mechanics while training on the sand in runners with pronated feet. Methods: Thirty runners with pronated feet were in the control group, and 30 runners with pronated feet were in the experimental group. An experimental group conducted an 8-week corrective exercise program, while a control group did not exercise. A force plate was included to collect ground reaction forces in the walkway. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) with repeated measures test was conducted to identify the presence of an interaction between the within-and between-subject factors on the dependent variables. The significance level was set at P<0.05. Results: The experimental group displayed lower first peak vertical ground reaction force (P=0.026), peak mediolateral ground reaction force (P=0.000), anterior-posterior impulse (P=0.032), loading rate (P=0.004) and a larger last peak vertical ground reaction force (P=0.000) during training on the sand. Irrespective of the group under consideration, a lower first peak mediolateral ground reaction force (P=0.000), peak positive free moment amplitude (P=0.001), and a larger last peak mediolateral ground reaction force (P=0.003) observed in the post-test compared to the pre-test. Background: Gastrointestinal bleeding is one of the emergencies that all therapeutic measures should be performed effectively and efficiently in a short time. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of an educational program on the improvement of nurses' knowledge, performance, and response time in the care of patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding in the Emergency Department. Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a single group pre-test and post-test design and was conducted at the Emergency Room of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, India. A total of 20 nurses working in the Emergency Room were recruited through enumeration. Also, 35 events before and 35 events after the intervention were observed. The educational program was implemented through face-to-face lecture-cum discussion in six 30-minute sessions and groups of 3 to 4 nurses over three days. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to measure nurses' knowledge regarding upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and their performance and response time were observed and calculated through a checklist. The data were described and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the paired t-test, the Kruskal-Wallis H test, and the Mann-Whitney U test in SPSS software, version 20. The significance level was set at P=0.05. Results: A noticeable improvement in the scores of knowledge and performance and a significant decrease in the nurses' response time were observed (P<0.001). Also, there was a significant relationship between the knowledge score and the work experience of nurses in the Emergency Department (P=0.018). Conclusion: Periodic evaluation of nurses' performance in the care and treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleeding emergencies through observation and checklist is recommended. Background: Although patients› self-report is the gold standard for pain, many patients admitted to the intensive care units are unable to communicate and express their pain. Accordingly, the nurse must have special abilities to diagnose and manage pain in such conditions. This study assesses nurses' knowledge, attitude, and performance regarding pain management of non-verbal critically ill adult patients in intensive care units. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from February to May 2020 among nurses working in four national referral hospitals in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The study sample included 202 intensive care unit nurses who were recruited by the census. The data was collected using pre-validated questionnaires, including the knowledge and attitudes survey regarding pain tools, and a performance tool by Eunkyoung. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test, one sample t-test, and Spearman correlation coefficient in the SPSS software, version 20. The significance level was set at P<0.05. Results: The mean knowledge and attitude score was 13.26±2.75, indicating inadequate knowledge and negative attitude. The mean performance score was 2.08±0.16, indicating low performance. No significant relationship was detected between nurses' knowledge and attitude and their performance according to the t-test (t=2.84, P=0.09) and the Spearman correlation coefficient (r=0.12, P=0.102). Meanwhile, no significant relationships were found between the nurses' knowledge, attitude, and performance and their demographic characteristics. Conclusion: Planning to increase knowledge and improve the attitude and performance of ICU nurses for better pain management of non-verbal patients is necessary. Background: Hospital-acquired infections are recognized as a major risk factor in healthcare settings. Hand hygiene as the first stage of infection control plays an important role in reducing these infections. This study assesses the knowledge, attitudes, and practice regarding hand hygiene among nurses in intensive care units (ICUs) of Basrah City and Dhi Qar City, Iraq. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study targeted 231 ICU nursing staff working in hospitals of Al-Basra and Dhi-Qar in Iraq in 2022. The subjects were recruited through the census. To assess the nurses' hand hygiene knowledge, attitude, and practice, electronic questionnaires were administered via WhatsApp. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (absolute and relative frequency, Mean±SD) and inferential statistics (independent t-test, chisquare test, and Fisher test). The data analysis was performed using the SPSS software, version 22. Meanwhile, a significance level of <0.05 was considered for all statistical tests. Results: The mean scores (ranges) of nurses' hand hygiene knowledge, attitude, and practice were 4.74±1.82 (1-10), 77.25±7.89 (55-95), and 49.80±12.23 (21-70), respectively. There was a significant relationship between hand hygiene knowledge and gender, with female nurses' knowledge being higher compared to male nurses (P=0.03). Furthermore, nurses with less than 5 years of practical experience in the ICU had a higher mean score of attitudes toward hand hygiene compared to nurses with 5-10 years of practical experience (P=0.015). Additionally, nurses with less than 5 years of experience in the ICU showed a higher mean score of hand hygiene practice compared to nurses with more than 10 years of practical experience (P=0.028). Conclusion: According to the findings, the knowledge, attitude, and practice of ICU nurses about hand hygiene were inappropriate. Background: Treatment satisfaction is one of the main factors of assessing care quality in patients with chronic diseases. Some factors may influence treatment satisfaction and improve or impair clinical outcomes. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fear of hypoglycemia and satisfaction with treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes treated with oral antidiabetic drugs. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in one of the hospitals of Qazvin Province, Iran, in 2021. The research sample was 390 patients with type 2 diabetes who used oral antidiabetic drugs, selected through convenience sampling. The data were collected using the hypoglycemic fear survey (HFS) and the diabetes medication satisfaction (DiabMedSat) questionnaire. Then, the obtained data were analyzed using the independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression in SPSS software, version 26. Statistical significance was set at P<0.05. Results: Patients' Mean±SD age was 53.4±11.49 years, and most (57.4%) were female. Treatment satisfaction score was lower in females (β=-0.12, P<0.007) and patients with diabetes complications (β=-0.138, P<0.005). Patients with college education had higher treatment satisfaction (β=0.173, P<0.001). Patients with very severe (β=-0.29, P<0.001) or severe hypoglycemia (β=-0.157, P<0.034) experienced lower treatment satisfaction than those with mild hypoglycemia. Low treatment satisfaction scores were associated with fear of hypoglycemia (β=-0.39, P<0.001). Conclusion: In this study, fear of hypoglycemia was associated with a decreased level of satisfaction with treatment. As a consequence, patients with type 2 diabetes must be assessed for hypoglycemia fears and their adverse effects. Also, to prevent complications caused by not taking antihyperglycemic drugs, nursing managers and clinical nurses are recommended to prepare appropriate programs to implement psychological interventions to reduce the fear of hypoglycemia. Background: The large number of mildly disabled elderly people in China has resulted in the occupation of a large amount of public social resources. They have also imposed a serious social burden on the society. This study predicts that changes in the level coefficients of physical functioning, motor participation, and external environment are associated with quality of life (QoL) among the elderly with mild disabilities in nursing homes. Methods: A simulation model was created using the system dynamics method. Meanwhile, a 50-day simulation was used to predict the subsequent changes in the level of QoL of the elderly. This study was completed in the nursing homes of Chengdu, China, using random sampling and 85 elderly subjects participated to obtain the primary data. The data were analyzed using the Vensim software. Results: The results showed that the level of physical functioning (pain value of 0.241, autonomy of 0.163, and chronic disease of 0.192), the level of motor participation (education value of 0.186, and rehabilitation partner of 0.21), and the level of external environment (medical care value of 0.26, and rehabilitation environment value of 0.184) lead to subsequent changes in the level of QoL of mildly disabled elderly in nursing homes in 30 days. Conclusion: Considering the results of this simulation study, changes in the level of physical functioning, exercise participation, and external environment could forecast the QoL of mildly disabled elderly in the nursing homes of Chania, China. Background: The high prevalence and associated costs of chronic diseases have challenged global community health. The use of information and communication technology offers patients and healthcare providers the ability to respond to healthcare needs. This study develops an information and communication technology use scale for patients with chronic diseases and evaluates its psychometric properties. Methods: This exploratory sequential mixed-method study was conducted in Kashan City, Iran from September 2020 to July 2021. In the qualitative phase, 18 patients with chronic conditions were recruited via the purposeful sampling method. The initial pool of 33 items was extracted in this phase. Psychometric evaluation of the scale was examined through face, content, and construct validity. The internal consistency of the scale was assessed with the Cronbach a and its stability was examined by the test re-test. To evaluate the scale's construct validity, a crosssectional study was performed with 300 patients referring to hospital wards and private centers that provide services to patients with chronic diseases. A sequential sampling method was used to select the subjects. The exploratory factor analysis was performed using principal component analysis and the varimax rotation method in the SPSS software, version 16. Results: The initial version of the scale consisted of 33 items. A total of 6 items were removed in the face and content validity evaluation phase. Factor analysis with the removal of 4 items resulted in the extraction of 4 factors that explained 67.45% of the variance in the total scale score. The Cronbach a coefficient and intra-class correlation coefficient were estimated at 0.93 and 0.88, respectively. Conclusion: The scale developed in this study is a valid and reliable tool for measuring formation and communication technology use (including its dimensions) in patients with chronic diseases. Background: Adolescence is a high-risk period. Teenagers experience risky behaviors in this period, including using abusive drugs and addiction. Meanwhile, sufficient awareness helps a person to interpret and analyze health-threatening factors. This study aimed to determine the relationship between health literacy and susceptibility to addiction in adolescents living in the western part of Tehran City, Iran. Methods: This descriptive-correlational study was performed on 265 senior high school students in the western part of Tehran in 2021. The subjects were recruited by cluster random sampling. The study data were collected online using the addiction susceptibility questionnaire and health literacy measure for adolescents. The obtained data were sorted by frequency distribution, Mean±SD and analyzed utilizing the Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t-test, and analysis of variance in SPSS software, version 16. The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: Most study subjects (56.4%) were female. Their Mean±SD score of health literacy was 65.31±21.15. Among the subscales of health literacy, "calculation", with a Mean±SD score of 68.96±35.89, and "utilization", with 61.29±25.05, had the highest and lowest mean scores, respectively. The Mean±SD score of addiction susceptibility was 25.3±30.05, and among its subscales, "showing off" with a mean score of 33.09±32.64 and "family dissatisfaction" with 19.75±35.47 had the highest and lowest mean scores, respectively. Health literacy and its dimensions had a negative correlation with addiction susceptibility (P<0.001). Conclusion: According to the findings, it is recommended to use appropriate strategies to increase adolescent health literacy by health service providers, school officials, school health nurses, and teachers.
