Abstract

Researchers used antibiotic chloramphenicol as a model drug to explore prodrug stimulation through antibodies. According to the conformational variation between substrate and product, the antibody-catalyzed reaction was developed to avoid product inhibition and improve turnover. Only the antibody hydrolytically stimulates the monoestor used, which can be an appropriate prodrug because of its resistance to the action of bacterial hydrolytic enzymes.
