The article provides an account of the competition results for the Pacific Coast college football teams during the 1970-1971 season. Challenges and disappointments are met with the defeat of the University of Southern California (USC) four times, the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) seven times, and the emergence of a conflict with the governors of the college sport. Pacific Coast football teams USC and UCLA were always included in the nation's top five teams, with USC always finishing either at first, second or third from 1967-1969.
