Multilayer piezocomposite transducers are widely used in many applications where broad bandwidth is required for tracking and detection purposes. However, it is difficult to operate these multilayer transducers efficiently under frequencies of 100 kHz. Therefore, this work presents the modeling and optimization of a five-layer piezocomposite transducer with ten variables of nonuniform layer thicknesses and different volume fractions by exploiting the strength of the genetic algorithm (GA) with a one-dimensional model (ODM). The ODM executes matrix manipulation by resolving wave equations and produces mechanical output in the form of pressure and electrical impedance. The product of gain and bandwidth is the required function to be maximized in this multi-objective and multivariate optimization problem, which is a challenging task having ten variables. Converting it into the minimization problem, the reciprocal of the gain-bandwidth product is considered. The total thickness is adjusted to keep the central frequency at approximately 50–60 kHz. Piezocomposite transducers with three active materials, PZT5h, PZT4d, PMN-PT, and CY1301 polymer, as passive materials were designed, simulated, and statistically evaluated. The results show significant improvement in gain bandwidth compared to previous existing techniques.

The objective of this paper is to present a novel design of intelligent neuro-supervised networks (INSNs) in order to study the dynamics of a mathematical model for Parkinson’s disease illness (PDI), governed with three differential classes to represent the rhythms of brain electrical activity measurements at different locations in the cerebral cortex. The proposed INSNs are constructed by exploiting the knacks of multilayer structure neural networks back-propagated with the Levenberg–Marquardt (LM) and Bayesian regularization (BR) optimization approaches. The reference data for the grids of input and the target samples of INSNs were formulated with a reliable numerical solver via the Adams method for sundry scenarios of PDI models by way of variation of sensor locations in order to measure the impact of the rhythms of brain electrical activity. The designed INSNs for both backpropagation procedures were implemented on created datasets segmented arbitrarily into training, testing, and validation samples by optimization of mean squared error based fitness function. Comparison of outcomes on the basis of exhaustive simulations of proposed INSNs via both LM and BR methodologies was conducted with reference solutions of PDI models by means of learning curves on MSE, adaptive control parameters of algorithms, absolute error, histogram error plots, and regression index. The outcomes endorse the efficacy of both INSNs solvers for different scenarios in PDI models, but the accuracy of the BR-based method is relatively superior, albeit at the cost of slightly more computations.

Swarm-based metaheuristics have shown significant progress in solving different complex optimization problems, including the parameter identification of linear, as well as nonlinear, systems. Nonlinear systems are inherently stiff and difficult to optimize and, thus, require special attention to effectively estimate their parameters. This study investigates the parameter identification of an input nonlinear autoregressive exogenous (IN-ARX) model through swarm intelligence knacks of the nonlinear marine predators’ algorithm (NMPA). A detailed comparative analysis of the NMPA with other recently introduced metaheuristics, such as Aquila optimizer, prairie dog optimization, reptile search algorithm, sine cosine algorithm, and whale optimization algorithm, established the superiority of the proposed scheme in terms of accurate, robust, and convergent performances for different noise and generation variations. The statistics generated through multiple autonomous executions represent box and whisker plots, along with the Wilcoxon rank-sum test, further confirming the reliability and stability of the NMPA for parameter estimation of IN-ARX systems.

In this article, a chaotic computing paradigm is investigated for the parameter estimation of the autoregressive exogenous (ARX) model by exploiting the optimization knacks of an improved chaotic grey wolf optimizer (ICGWO). The identification problem is formulated by defining a mean square error-based fitness function between true and estimated responses of the ARX system. The decision parameters of the ARX model are calculated by ICGWO for various populations, generations, and noise levels. The comparative performance analyses with standard counterparts indicate the worth of the ICGWO for ARX model identification, while the statistical analyses endorse the efficacy of the proposed chaotic scheme in terms of accuracy, robustness, and reliability.

A recommender system not only “gains users’ confidence” but also helps them in other ways, such as reducing their time spent and effort. To gain users’ confidence, one of the main goals of recommender systems in an e-commerce industry is to estimate the users’ interest by tracking the users’ transactional behavior to provide a fast and highly related set of top recommendations out of thousands of products. The standard ranking-based models, i.e., the denoising auto-encoder (DAE) and collaborative denoising auto-encoder (CDAE), exploit positive-only feedback without utilizing the ratings’ ranks for the full set of observed ratings. To confirm the rank of observed ratings (either low or high), a confidence value for each rating is required. Hence, an improved, confidence-integrated DAE is proposed to enhance the performance of the standard DAE for solving recommender systems problems. The correctness of the proposed method is authenticated using two standard MovieLens datasets such as ML-1M and ML-100K. The proposed study acts as a vital contribution for the design of an efficient, robust, and accurate algorithm by learning prominent latent features used for fast and accurate recommendations. The proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by achieving improved P@10, R@10, NDCG@10, and MAP scores.

Piezoelectric actuated models are promising high-performance precision positioning devices used for broad applications in the field of precision machines and nano/micro manufacturing. Piezoelectric actuators involve a nonlinear complex hysteresis that may cause degradation in performance. These hysteresis effects of piezoelectric actuators are mathematically represented as a second-order system using the Dahl hysteresis model. In this paper, artificial intelligence-based neurocomputing feedforward and backpropagation networks of the Levenberg–Marquardt method (LMM-NNs) and Bayesian Regularization method (BRM-NNs) are exploited to examine the numerical behavior of the Dahl hysteresis model representing a piezoelectric actuator, and the Adams numerical scheme is used to create datasets for various cases. The generated datasets were used as input target values to the neural network to obtain approximated solutions and optimize the values by using backpropagation neural networks of LMM-NNs and BRM-NNs. The performance analysis of LMM-NNs and BRM-NNs of the Dahl hysteresis model of the piezoelectric actuator is validated through convergence curves and accuracy measures via mean squared error and regression analysis.

The mathematical modelling and optimization of nonlinear problems arising in diversified engineering applications is an area of great interest. The Hammerstein structure is widely used in the modelling of various nonlinear processes found in a range of applications. This study investigates the parameter optimization of the nonlinear Hammerstein model using the abilities of the marine predator algorithm (MPA) and the key term separation technique. MPA is a population-based metaheuristic inspired by the behavior of predators for catching prey, and utilizes Brownian/Levy movement for predicting the optimal interaction between predator and prey. A detailed analysis of MPA is conducted to verify the accurate and robust behavior of the optimization scheme for nonlinear Hammerstein model identification.

The objective of this study is to examine numerical evaluations of the mosquito dispersal mathematical system (MDMS) in a heterogeneous atmosphere through artificial intelligence (AI) techniques via Bayesian regularization neural networks (BSR-NNs). The MDMS is constructed with six classes, i.e., eggs, larvae, pupae, host, resting mosquito, and ovipositional site densities-based ODEs system. The computing BSR-NNs scheme is applied for three different performances using the data of training, testing and verification, which is divided as 75%, 15%, 10% with twelve hidden neurons. The result comparisons are provided to check the authenticity of the designed AI method portrayed by the BSR-NNs. The AI based BSR-NNs procedure is executed to reduce the mean square error (MSE) for the MDMS. The achieved performances are also presented to validate the efficiency of BSR-NNs scheme using the process of MSE, correlation, error histograms and regression.

Nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithms have gained great attention over the last decade due to their potential for finding optimal solutions to different optimization problems. In this study, a metaheuristic based on the dwarf mongoose optimization algorithm (DMOA) is presented for the parameter estimation of an autoregressive exogenous (ARX) model. In the DMOA, the set of candidate solutions were stochastically created and improved using only one tuning parameter. The performance of the DMOA for ARX identification was deeply investigated in terms of its convergence speed, estimation accuracy, robustness and reliability. Furthermore, comparative analyses with other recent state-of-the-art metaheuristics based on Aquila Optimizer, the Sine Cosine Algorithm, the Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm and the Reptile Search algorithm—using a nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test—endorsed the consistent, accurate performance of the proposed metaheuristic for ARX identification.

In this paper, a defused decision boundary which renders misclassification issues due to the presence of cross-pairs is investigated. Cross-pairs retain cumulative attributes of both classes and misguide the classifier due to the defused data samples’ nature. To tackle the problem of the defused data, a Tomek Links technique targets the cross-pair majority class and is removed, which results in an affine-segregated decision boundary. In order to cope with a Theft Case scenario, theft data is ascertained and synthesized randomly by using six theft data variants. Theft data variants are benign class appertaining data samples which are modified and manipulated to synthesize malicious samples. Furthermore, a K-means minority oversampling technique is used to tackle the class imbalance issue. In addition, to enhance the detection of the classifier, abstract features are engineered using a stochastic feature engineering mechanism. Moreover, to carry out affine training of the model, balanced data are inputted in order to mitigate class imbalance issues. An integrated hybrid model consisting of Bi-Directional Gated Recurrent Units and Bi-Directional Long-Term Short-Term Memory classifies the consumers, efficiently. Afterwards, robustness performance of the model is verified using an attack vector which is subjected to intervene in the model’s efficiency and integrity. However, the proposed model performs efficiently on such unseen attack vectors.

In recent decades, fractional order calculus has become an important mathematical tool for effectively solving complex problems through better modeling with the introduction of fractional differential/integral operators; fractional order swarming heuristics are also introduced and applied for better performance in different optimization tasks. This study investigates the nonlinear system identification problem of the input nonlinear control autoregressive (IN-CAR) model through the novel implementation of fractional order particle swarm optimization (FO-PSO) heuristics; further, the key term separation technique (KTST) is introduced in the FO-PSO to solve the over-parameterization issue involved in the parameter estimation of the IN-CAR model. The proposed KTST-based FO-PSO, i.e., KTST-FOPSO accurately estimates the parameters of an unknown IN-CAR system with robust performance in cases of different noise scenarios. The performance of the KTST-FOPSO is investigated exhaustively for different fractional orders as well as in comparison with the standard counterpart. The results of statistical indices through Monte Carlo simulations endorse the reliability and stability of the KTST-FOPSO for IN-CAR identification.

Swarm intelligence-based metaheuristic algorithms have attracted the attention of the research community and have been exploited for effectively solving different optimization problems of engineering, science, and technology. This paper considers the parameter estimation of the control autoregressive (CAR) model by applying a novel swarm intelligence-based optimization algorithm called the Aquila optimizer (AO). The parameter tuning of AO is performed statistically on different generations and population sizes. The performance of the AO is investigated statistically in various noise levels for the parameters with the best tuning. The robustness and reliability of the AO are carefully examined under various scenarios for CAR identification. The experimental results indicate that the AO is accurate, convergent, and robust for parameter estimation of CAR systems. The comparison of the AO heuristics with recent state of the art counterparts through nonparametric statistical tests established the efficacy of the proposed scheme for CAR estimation.

The efficient parameter estimation of harmonics is required to effectively design filters to mitigate their adverse effects on the power quality of electrical systems. In this study, a fractional order swarming optimization technique is proposed for the parameter estimation of harmonics normally present in industrial loads. The proposed fractional order particle swarm optimization (FOPSO) effectively estimates the amplitude and phase parameters corresponding to the first, third, fifth, seventh and eleventh harmonics. The performance of the FOPSO was evaluated for ten fractional orders with noiseless and noisy scenarios. The robustness efficiency of the proposed FOPSO was analyzed by considering different levels of additive white Gaussian noise in the harmonic signal. Monte Carlo simulations confirmed the reliability of the FOPSO for a lower fractional order (λ = 0.1) with a faster convergence rate and no divergent run compared to other fractional orders as well as to standard PSO (λ = 1).

The aim of this work is to design a stochastic framework to solve the fractional-order differential model based on the breast cancer progression during the immune-chemotherapeutic treatment phase, including certain control parameters such as anti-cancer medications, ketogenic diet and immune boosters. The developed model considers tumor density progression throughout chemotherapy treatment, as well as an immune response during normal cell–tumor cell interaction. This study’s subject seems to be to demonstrate the implications and significance of the fractional-order breast cancer mathematical model. The goal of these studies is to improve accuracy in the breast cancer model by employing fractional derivatives. This study also includes an integer, nonlinear mathematical system with immune-chemotherapeutic treatment impacts. The mathematical system divides the fractional-order breast cancer mathematical model among four manifestations: normal cell population (N), tumor cells (T), immune response class (I), and estrogen compartment (E), i.e., (NTIE). The fractional-order NTIE mathematical system is still not published previously, nor has it ever been addressed employing the stochastic solvers’ strength. To solve a fractional-order NTIE mathematical system, stochastic solvers based on the Levenberg–Marquardt backpropagation scheme (LMBS) and neural networks (NNs), namely, LMBNNs, are been constructed. To solve the fractional-order NTIE mathematical model, three cases with varying values for this same fractional order have been supplied. The statistics used to offer the numerical solutions of the fractional-order NTIE mathematical model are divided as follows: 75% in training, 15% in testing, and 10% in the authorization. The acquired numerical findings were compared using the reference solutions to determine the accuracy of the LMBNNs using Adams–Bashforth–Moulton. The numerical performances employing error histograms (EHs), state transitions (STs), regression, correlation, including mean square error (MSE) have been further supplied to authenticate overall capability, competence, validity, consistency, as well as exactness of such LMBNNs.

The theme of this study is to present the impacts and importance of the fractional order derivatives of the susceptible, infected and quarantine (SIQ) model based on the coronavirus with the lockdown effects. The purpose of these investigations is to achieve more accuracy with the use of fractional derivatives in the SIQ model. The integer, nonlinear mathematical SIQ system with the lockdown effects is also provided in this study. The lockdown effects are categorized into the dynamics of the susceptible, infective and quarantine, generally known as SIQ mathematical system. The fractional order SIQ mathematical system has never been presented before, nor solved by using the strength of the stochastic solvers. The stochastic solvers based on the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation scheme (LMBS) along with the neural networks (NNs), i.e., LMBS-NNs have been implemented to solve the fractional order SIQ mathematical system. Three cases using different values of the fractional order have been provided to solve the fractional order SIQ mathematical model. The data to present the numerical solutions of the fractional order SIQ mathematical model is selected as 80% for training and 10% for both testing and validation. For the correctness of the LMBS-NNs, the obtained numerical results have been compared with the reference solutions through the Adams–Bashforth–Moulton based numerical solver. In order to authenticate the competence, consistency, validity, capability and exactness of the LMB-NNs, the numerical performances using the state transitions (STs), regression, correlation, mean square error (MSE) and error histograms (EHs) are also provided.

The knacks of evolutionary and swarm computing paradigms have been exploited to solve complex engineering and applied science problems, including parameter estimation for nonlinear systems. The population-based computational heuristics applied for parameter identification of nonlinear systems estimate the redundant parameters due to an overparameterization problem. The aim of this study was to exploit the key term separation (KTS) principle-based identification model with adaptive evolutionary computing to overcome the overparameterization issue. The parameter estimation of Hammerstein control autoregressive (HC-AR) systems was conducted through integration of the KTS idea with the global optimization efficacy of genetic algorithms (GAs). The proposed approach effectively estimated the actual parameters of the HC-AR system for noiseless as well as noisy scenarios. The simulation results verified the accuracy, convergence, and robustness of the proposed scheme. While consistent accuracy and reliability of the designed approach was validated through statistical assessments on multiple independent trials.

In this study, a novel design of a second kind of nonlinear Lane–Emden prediction differential singular model (NLE-PDSM) is presented. The numerical solutions of this model were investigated via a neuro-evolution computing intelligent solver using artificial neural networks (ANNs) optimized by global and local search genetic algorithms (GAs) and the active-set method (ASM), i.e., ANN-GAASM. The novel NLE-PDSM was derived from the standard LE and the PDSM along with the details of singular points, prediction terms and shape factors. The modeling strength of ANN was implemented to create a merit function based on the second kind of NLE-PDSM using the mean squared error, and optimization was performed through the GAASM. The corroboration, validation and excellence of the ANN-GAASM for three distinct problems were established through relative studies from exact solutions on the basis of stability, convergence and robustness. Furthermore, explanations through statistical investigations confirmed the worth of the proposed scheme.

In this presented communication, a novel design of intelligent Bayesian regularization backpropagation networks (IBRBNs) based on stochastic numerical computing is presented. The dynamics of peristaltic motion of a third-grade fluid in a planar channel is examined by IBRBNs using multilayer structure modeling competency of neural networks trained with efficient optimization ability of Bayesian regularization method. The reference dataset used as inputs and targets parameters of IBRBN has been obtained via the state-of-the-art Adams numerical method. The data of solution dynamics is created for multiple scenarios of the peristaltic transport model by varying the volume flow rate, material parametric of a third-grade fluid model, wave amplitude, and inclination angles. The designed integrated IBRBNs are constructed by exploiting training, testing, and validation operations at each epoch via optimization of a figure of merit on mean square error sense. Exhaustive simulation of IBRBNs with comparison on mean square error, histograms, and regression index substantiated the precision, stability, and reliability to solve the peristaltic transport model.

The purpose of the current investigation is to find the numerical solutions of the novel fractional order pantograph singular system (FOPSS) using the applications of Meyer wavelets as a neural network. The FOPSS is presented using the standard form of the Lane–Emden equation and the detailed discussions of the singularity, shape factor terms along with the fractional order forms. The numerical discussions of the FOPSS are described based on the fractional Meyer wavelets (FMWs) as a neural network (NN) with the optimization procedures of global/local search procedures of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and interior-point algorithm (IPA), i.e., FMWs-NN-PSOIPA. The FMWs-NN strength is pragmatic and forms a merit function based on the differential system and the initial conditions of the FOPSS. The merit function is optimized, using the integrated capability of PSOIPA. The perfection, verification and substantiation of the FOPSS using the FMWs is pragmatic for three cases through relative investigations from the true results in terms of stability and convergence. Additionally, the statics’ descriptions further authorize the presentation of the FMWs-NN-PSOIPA in terms of reliability and accuracy.

Most real-time systems are nonlinear in nature, and their optimization is very difficult due to inherit stiffness and complex system representation. The computational intelligent algorithms of evolutionary computing paradigm (ECP) effectively solve various complex, nonlinear optimization problems. The differential evolution algorithm (DEA) is one of the most important approaches in ECP, which outperforms other standard approaches in terms of accuracy and convergence performance. In this study, a novel application of a recently proposed variant of DEA, the so-called, maximum-likelihood-based, adaptive, differential evolution algorithm (ADEA), is investigated for the identification of nonlinear Hammerstein output error (HOE) systems that are widely used to model different nonlinear processes of engineering and applied sciences. The performance of the ADEA is evaluated by taking polynomial- and sigmoidal-type nonlinearities in two case studies of HOE systems. Moreover, the robustness of the proposed scheme is examined for different noise levels. Reliability and consistent accuracy are assessed through multiple independent trials of the scheme. The convergence, accuracy, robustness and reliability of the ADEA are carefully examined for HOE identification in comparison with the standard counterpart of the DEA. The ADEA achieves the fitness values of 1.43 × 10−8 and 3.46 × 10−9 for a population size of 80 and 100, respectively, in the HOE system identification problem of case study 1 for a 0.01 nose level, while the respective fitness values in the case of DEA are 1.43 × 10−6 and 3.46 × 10−7. The ADEA is more statistically consistent but less complex when compared to the DEA due to the extra operations involved in introducing the adaptiveness during the mutation and crossover. The current study may consider the approach of effective nonlinear system identification as a step further in developing ECP-based computational intelligence.

Recently, a quasi-fractional order gradient descent (QFGD) algorithm was proposed and successfully applied to solve system identification problem. The QFGD suffers from the overparameterization problem and results in estimating the redundant parameters instead of identifying only the actual parameters of the system. This study develops a novel hierarchical QFDS (HQFGD) algorithm by introducing the concepts of hierarchical identification principle and key term separation idea. The proposed HQFGD is effectively applied to solve the parameter estimation problem of input nonlinear autoregressive with exogeneous noise (INARX) system. A detailed investigation about the performance of HQFGD is conducted under different disturbance conditions considering different fractional orders and learning rate variations. The simulation results validate the better performance of the HQFGD over the standard counterpart in terms of estimation accuracy, convergence speed and robustness.

The designed fractional order Stuxnet, the virus model, is analyzed to investigate the spread of the virus in the regime of isolated industrial networks environment by bridging the air-gap between the traditional and the critical control network infrastructures. Removable storage devices are commonly used to exploit the vulnerability of individual nodes, as well as the associated networks, by transferring data and viruses in the isolated industrial control system. A mathematical model of an arbitrary order system is constructed and analyzed numerically to depict the control mechanism. A local and global stability analysis of the system is performed on the equilibrium points derived for the value of α = 1. To understand the depth of fractional model behavior, numerical simulations are carried out for the distinct order of the fractional derivative system, and the results show that fractional order models provide rich dynamics by means of fast transient and super-slow evolution of the model’s steady-state behavior, which are seldom perceived in integer-order counterparts.

The aim of this work is to present the numerical results of the influenza disease nonlinear system using the feed forward artificial neural networks (ANNs) along with the optimization of the combination of global and local search schemes. The genetic algorithm (GA) and active-set method (ASM), i.e., GA-ASM, are implemented as global and local search schemes. The mathematical nonlinear influenza disease system is dependent of four classes, susceptible S(u), infected I(u), recovered R(u) and cross-immune individuals C(u). For the solutions of these classes based on influenza disease system, the design of an objective function is presented using these differential system equations and its corresponding initial conditions. The optimization of this objective function is using the hybrid computing combination of GA-ASM for solving all classes of the influenza disease nonlinear system. The obtained numerical results will be compared by the Adams numerical results to check the authenticity of the designed ANN-GA-ASM. In addition, the designed approach through statistical based operators shows the consistency and stability for solving the influenza disease nonlinear system.

In this study, the numerical computation heuristic of the environmental and economic system using the artificial neural networks (ANNs) structure together with the capabilities of the heuristic global search genetic algorithm (GA) and the quick local search interior-point algorithm (IPA), i.e., ANN-GA-IPA. The environmental and economic system is dependent of three categories, execution cost of control standards and new technical diagnostics elimination costs of emergencies values and the competence of the system of industrial elements. These three elements form a nonlinear differential environmental and economic system. The optimization of an error-based objective function is performed using the differential environmental and economic system and its initial conditions. The aim of this work is to solve the case study singular model involving the Neumann–Robin, Dirichlet, and Neumann boundary conditions using a novel computing framework that is based on the artificial neural network (ANN), global search genetic algorithm (GA), and local search sequential quadratic programming method (SQPM), i.e., ANN-GA-SQPM. The inspiration to present this numerical framework comes through the objective of introducing a reliable structure that associates the operative ANNs features using the optimization procedures of soft computing to deal with such stimulating systems. Four different problems that are based on the singular equations involving Neumann–Robin, Dirichlet, and Neumann boundary conditions have been occupied to scrutinize the robustness, stability, and proficiency of the designed ANN-GA-SQPM. The proposed results through ANN-GA-SQPM have been compared with the exact results to check the efficiency of the scheme through the statistical performances for taking fifty independent trials. Moreover, the study of the neuron analysis based on three and 15 neurons is also performed to check the authenticity of the proposed ANN-GA-SQPM.

In this study, an application of deep learning-based neural computing is proposed for efficient real-time state estimation of the Markov chain underwater maneuvering object. The designed intelligent strategy is exploiting the strength of nonlinear autoregressive with an exogenous input (NARX) network model, which has the capability for estimating the dynamics of the systems that follow the discrete-time Markov chain. Nonlinear Bayesian filtering techniques are often applied for underwater maneuvering state estimation applications by following state-space methodology. The robustness and precision of NARX neural network are efficiently investigated for accurate state prediction of the passive Markov chain highly maneuvering underwater target. A continuous coordinated turning trajectory of an underwater maneuvering object is modeled for analyzing the performance of the neural computing paradigm. State estimation modeling is developed in the context of bearings only tracking technology in which the efficiency of the NARX neural network is investigated for ideal and complex ocean environments. Real-time position and velocity of maneuvering object are computed for five different cases by varying standard deviations of white Gaussian measured noise. Sufficient Monte Carlo simulation results validate the competence of NARX neural computing over conventional generalized pseudo-Bayesian filtering algorithms like an interacting multiple model extended Kalman filter and an interacting multiple model unscented Kalman filter.

In this work, a new heuristic computing design is presented with an artificial intelligence approach to exploit the models with feed-forward (FF) Gudermannian neural networks (GNN) accomplished with global search capability of genetic algorithms (GA) combined with local convergence aptitude of active-set method (ASM), i.e., FF-GNN-GAASM to solve the second kind of Lane–Emden nonlinear singular models (LE-NSM). The proposed method based on the computing intelligent Gudermannian kernel is incorporated with the hidden layer configuration of FF-GNN models of differential operatives of the LE-NSM, which are arbitrarily associated with presenting an error-based objective function that is used to optimize by the hybrid heuristics of GAASM. Three LE-NSM-based examples are numerically solved to authenticate the effectiveness, accurateness, and efficiency of the suggested FF-GNN-GAASM. The reliability of the scheme via statistical valuations is verified in order to authenticate the stability, accuracy, and convergence.

The current study aims to design an integrated numerical computing-based scheme by applying the Levenberg–Marquardt backpropagation (LMB) neural network to solve the nonlinear susceptible (S), infected (I) and recovered (R) (SIR) system of differential equations, representing the spreading of infection along with its treatment. The solutions of both the categories of spreading infection and its treatment are presented by taking six different cases of SIR models using the designed LMB neural network. A reference dataset of the designed LMB neural network is established with the Adam numerical scheme for each case of the spreading infection and its treatment. The approximate outcomes of the SIR system based on the spreading infection and its treatment are presented in the training, authentication and testing procedures to adapt the neural network by reducing the mean square error (MSE) function using the LMB. Studies based on the proportional performance and inquiries based on correlation, error histograms, regression and MSE results establish the efficiency, correctness and effectiveness of the proposed LMB neural network scheme.

In this study, an intelligent computing paradigm built on a nonlinear autoregressive exogenous (NARX) feedback neural network model with the strength of deep learning is presented for accurate state estimation of an underwater passive target. In underwater scenarios, real-time motion parameters of passive objects are usually extracted with nonlinear filtering techniques. In filtering algorithms, nonlinear passive measurements are associated with linear kinetics of the target, governing by state space methodology. To improve tracking accuracy, effective feature estimation and minimizing position error of dynamic passive objects, the strength of NARX based supervised learning is exploited. Dynamic artificial neural networks, which contain tapped delay lines, are suitable for predicting the future state of the underwater passive object. Neural networks-based intelligence computing is effectively applied for estimating the real-time actual state of a passive moving object, which follows a semi-curved path. Performance analysis of NARX based neural networks is evaluated for six different scenarios of standard deviation of white Gaussian measurement noise by following bearings only tracking phenomena. Root mean square error between estimated and real position of the passive target in rectangular coordinates is computed for evaluating the worth of the proposed NARX feedback neural network scheme. The Monte Carlo simulations are conducted and the results certify the capability of the intelligence computing over conventional nonlinear filtering algorithms such as spherical radial cubature Kalman filter and unscented Kalman filter for given state estimation model.

The present study aims to design stochastic intelligent computational heuristics for the numerical treatment of a nonlinear SITR system representing the dynamics of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The mathematical SITR system using fractal parameters for COVID-19 dynamics is divided into four classes; that is, susceptible (S), infected (I), treatment (T), and recovered (R). The comprehensive details of each class along with the explanation of every parameter are provided, and the dynamics of novel COVID-19 are represented by calculating the solution of the mathematical SITR system using feed-forward artificial neural networks (FF-ANNs) trained with global search genetic algorithms (GAs) and speedy fine tuning by sequential quadratic programming (SQP)—that is, an FF-ANN-GASQP scheme. In the proposed FF-ANN-GASQP method, the objective function is formulated in the mean squared error sense using the approximate differential mapping of FF-ANNs for the SITR model, and learning of the networks is proficiently conducted with the integrated capabilities of GA and SQP. The correctness, stability, and potential of the proposed FF-ANN-GASQP scheme for the four different cases are established through comparative assessment study from the results of numerical computing with Adams solver for single as well as multiple autonomous trials. The results of statistical evaluations further authenticate the convergence and prospective accuracy of the FF-ANN-GASQP method.

Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) is the vital concern of network operators in the planning and management of electrical systems to reduce the real and reactive losses of the transmission and distribution system in order to augment the overall efficiency of the electrical network. The principle objective of the ORPD problem is to explore the best setting of decision variables such as rating of the shunt capacitors, output voltage of the generators and tap setting of the transformers in order to diminish the line loss, and improve the voltage profile index (VPI) and operating cost minimization of standard electrical systems while keeping the variables within the allowable limits. This research study demonstrates a compelling transformative approach for resolving ORPD problems faced by the operators through exploiting the strength of the meta-heuristic optimization model based on a new fractional swarming strategy, namely fractional order (FO)–particle swarm optimization (PSO), with consideration of the entropy metric in the velocity update mechanism. To perceive ORPD for standard 30 and 57-bus networks, the complex nonlinear objective functions, including minimization of the system, VPI improvement and operating cost minimization, are constructed with emphasis on efficacy enhancement of the overall electrical system. Assessment of the results show that the proposed FO-PSO with entropy metric performs better than the other state of the art algorithms by means of improvement in VPI, operating cost and line loss minimization. The statistical outcomes in terms of quantile–quantile illustrations, probability plots, cumulative distribution function, box plots, histograms and minimum fitness evaluation in a set of autonomous trials validate the capability of the proposed optimization scheme and exhibit sufficiency and also vigor in resolving ORPD problems.

In this paper, an application of spherical radial cubature Bayesian filtering and smoothing algorithms is presented to solve a typical underwater bearings only passive target tracking problem effectively. Generally, passive target tracking problems in the ocean environment are represented with the state-space model having linear system dynamics merged with nonlinear passive measurements, and the system is analyzed with nonlinear filtering algorithms. In the present scheme, an application of spherical radial cubature Bayesian filtering and smoothing is efficiently investigated for accurate state estimation of a far-field moving target in complex ocean environments. The nonlinear model of a Kalman filter based on a Spherical Radial Cubature Kalman Filter (SRCKF) and discrete-time Kalman smoother known as a Spherical Radial Cubature Rauch−Tung−Striebel (SRCRTS) smoother are applied for tracking the semi-curved and curved trajectory of a moving object. The worth of spherical radial cubature Bayesian filtering and smoothing algorithms is validated by comparing with a conventional Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) and an Unscented Rauch−Tung−Striebel (URTS) smoother. Performance analysis of these techniques is performed for white Gaussian measured noise variations, which is a significant factor in passive target tracking, while the Bearings Only Tracking (BOT) technology is used for modeling of a passive target tracking framework. Simulations based experiments are executed for obtaining least Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) among a true and estimated position of a moving target at every time instant in Cartesian coordinates. Numerical results endorsed the validation of SRCKF and SRCRTS smoothers with better convergence and accuracy rates than that of UKF and URTS for each scenario of passive target tracking problem.

In this research work, bio-inspired computational heuristic algorithms (BCHAs) integrated with active-set algorithms (ASA) were designed to study integrated economics load dispatch problems with valve point effects involving stochastic wind power. These BCHAs are developed through variants of genetic algorithms based on a different set of routines for reproduction operators in order to make exploration and exploitation in the entire search space for finding the global optima, while the ASA is used for rapid local refinements of the results. The designed schemes are estimated on different load dispatch systems consisting of a combination of thermal generating units and wind power plants with and without valve point loading effects. The accuracy, convergence, robustness and complexity of the proposed schemes has been examined through comparative studies based on a sufficiently large number of independent trails and their statistical observations in terms of different performance indices.
