In the ultra-low temperature environment, the material properties of the bearing change, which puts forward higher requirements for the dynamic performance of the bearing cage. The bearings operating in ultra-low temperature environments commonly use solid lubricants. This study first focused on measuring the traction coefficients of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) solid lubricant in a nitrogen atmosphere, and the Gupta fitting model is constructed to derive the traction equation. Subsequently, the dynamic differential equation of angular contact ball bearings was established, and the stability of the bearing cage in a nitrogen environment was simulated and analyzed based on the dynamic model. The accuracy of the simulation model was verified through comparison. The results show that less than 10% of errors exist between the experimental data and the traction curve fitted by the Gupta model, and the stability of the cage is closely related to operating parameters and bearing structure parameters. Cage stability increases with axial load but decreases with radial load. The cage stability is optimal when the radial internal clearance of the bearing is approximately 0.06 mm. When other conditions remain unchanged and the ratio of the cage pocket hole gap to the cage guide surface gap is 0.2, the cage stability is the best. The research results will provide a foundation for the design and application of solid-lubricated angular contact ball bearings in ultra-low temperature environments.

Avian reovirus (ARV) is the primary pathogen responsible for viral arthritis. In this study, 2340 samples with suspected viral arthritis were collected from 2019 to 2020 in 16 provinces of China to investigate the prevalence of ARV in China and to characterize the molecular genetic evolution of epidemic strains. From 113 samples analyzed by RT-PCR, 46 strains of avian reovirus were successfully isolated and identified. The genetic evolution of the σC gene showed that 46 strains were distributed in 1–5 branches, with the largest number of strains in branches 1 and 2. The σC gene homology among the strains was low, with approximately 62% homology in branches 4 and 5 and about 55% in the remaining branches. The strains circulating during the ARV epidemic in different provinces were distributed in different branches. The SPF chickens were immunized with inactivated vaccines containing strains from branches 1 and 4 to analyze the cross-immune protection elicited by different branches of ARV strains. A challenge protection test was performed using strains in branches 1, 2, 4, and 5. Our results showed that inactivated vaccines containing strains from branches 1 and 4 could fully protect from strains in branches 1, 4, and 5. The results of this study revealed the genetic diversity among the endemic strains of ARV in China from 2019 to 2020. Each genotype strain elicited partial cross-protection, providing a scientific basis for the prevention and control of ARV.

To solve the problem of difficult hazelnut harvesting in mountainous areas of Liaoning, China, a small pneumatic hazelnut harvesting machine was designed, which can realize negative pressure when picking up hazelnut mixtures and positive pressure when cleaning impurities. The key structure and parameters of the harvesting machine were determined by constructing a mechanical model of the whole machine and combining theoretical analysis and operational requirements. To explore the harvesting machine scavenging performance, Liaoning hazelnut No. 3 with a moisture content of 7.47% was used as the experimental object. Firstly, the terminal velocity of hazelnuts and fallen leaves was measured using a material suspension velocity test bench. Secondly, the gas–solid two-phase flow theory was applied comprehensively, and the motion state, particle distribution, and air flow field distribution of hazelnuts from the inlet to the outlet of the pneumatic conveying device were simulated and analyzed using the coupling of computational flow fluid dynamics method (CFD) and discrete element method (DEM) to evaluate the cleaning performance from the perspective of the net fruit rate of hazelnuts in the cleaning box. Finally, a Box–Behnken design experiment was conducted with the sieve plate angle, the distance of the sieve plate, and the air flow velocity as factors and the net fruit rate of hazelnuts as indicators to explore the influence of the three factors on the net fruit rate of hazelnuts. The parameter optimization module of Design-Expert software was used to obtain the optimal combination of parameters for the factors. The experimental results show that the test factors affecting the test index are the following: the air flow rate, the angle of the screen plate, and the distance of the screen plate. The best combination of parameters was an air flow velocity of 14.1 m∙s−1, a sieve plate angle of 55.7°, and a distance of the sieve plate of 33.2 mm. The net fruit rate of hazelnuts was 95.12%. The clearing performance was stable and can guarantee the requirements of hazelnut harvester operation, which provides a certain theoretical basis for the design of a nut harvester.

This study aimed to test the friction coefficient of cryogenic bearing lubrication materials. A ball-on-disc type friction tester was developed in our lab using air bearings that could simulate the movement of cryogenic bearings under sliding-rolling contact. The tester is equipped with a temperature-controlled chamber to provide a minimum −175 °C low-temperature environment. Using air bearings is an important technique to reduce the base friction of the tester measurement system and ensure the accuracy of the friction coefficient measurement. The friction coefficients of the Ag coating and the PTFE coating were measured at different sliding-rolling velocities on this tester, and the results showed that the friction coefficient curves agreed well with the Gupta sliding model. The developed tester will provide important data for the dynamic analysis and life evaluation of the cryogenic bearings.

Based on a dynamic analysis of rolling bearings, the equations for rocker arm full-type needle bearings were established by considering the traction coefficients of FVA-M reference lubricating oil, and then they were solved by the GSTIFF (Gear Stiff) integer algorithm with variable steps. The influence of working conditions on friction power consumption and the lubricant’s convective coefficients were investigated. Then, on the basis of the heat generation and heat transfer mechanisms, the frictional power consumption was used as the boundary condition of the bearings’ simulation model. Finally, temperature fields were calculated by the finite element method. The results showed that the overall value of frictional power consumption increased gradually with the increase in either the radial load or the rotation speed. The presence or absence of lubricating oil film in the contact area affected the heat conduction of the bearing, resulting in a temperature difference. Compared with the temperature of the radial load exerted on the bearing, the maximum temperature was more sensitive to the variations in the rotation speed. When running under the conditions of a fatigue life test, the steady-state temperature value of the bearing gradually decreased from the outer raceway to the needle roller and the outer ring surface, and then to the central shaft. The maximum temperature rise was 25.9 °C relative to the ambient temperature.

Stable organic free radicals are increasingly studied compounds due to the multiple and unusual properties imparted by the single electron(s). However, being paramagnetic, classical methods such as NMR spectroscopy can hardly be used due to relaxation and line broadening effects. EPR spectroscopy is thus better suited to get information about the immediate surroundings of the single electrons. EPR has enabled obtaining useful data in the context of host•guest chemistry, and a classical example is reported here for the stable (2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-oxo-piperidin-1-yl)oxyl or 4-oxo-TEMPO nitroxide (TEMPONE) inside the macrocycle host cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]). Generally and also observed here, a contraction of the spectrum is observed as a result of the reduced nitrogen coupling constant due to inclusion complexation in the hydrophobic cavity of the host. Simulations of EPR spectra allowed determining the corresponding binding constant pointing to a weaker affinity for CB[7], compared to TEMPO with CB[7]. We complement this work by the results of EPR spectroscopy of a biradical: bis-TEMPO-bis-ketal (bTbk) with cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]). Initial investigations pointed to very weak effects on the spectrum of the guest and incorrectly led us to conclude an absence of binding. However, simulations of EPR spectra combined with NMR data of reduced bTbk allowed showing inclusion complexation. EPR titrations were performed, and the corresponding binding constant was determined. 1H NMR spectra with reduced bTbk suggested a shuttle mechanism, at nearly one equivalent of CB[8], for which the host moves rapidly between two stations.
