Atherosclerosis is the main pathological basis of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Fufang Danshen Tablet (FDT) is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been clinically used to treat CVDs for more than 40 years. Nevertheless, owing to the complexity of the ingredients, the pharmacological mechanism of FDT in the treatment of CVDs has not been fully elucidated. In this study, an integrated strategy of UFLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS, network pharmacology, molecular biology, and transcriptomics was used to elucidate the mechanisms of action of FDT in the treatment of atherosclerosis. In total, 22 absorbed constituents were identified in rat serum after oral administration of FDT. In silico, network pharmacology studies have shown that FDT regulates four key biological functional modules for the treatment of atherosclerosis: oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, energy metabolism, and immune/inflammation. In animal experiments, FDT exerted protective effects against atherosclerosis by reducing the plaque area and lipid levels in ApoE−/− mice. Furthermore, we found that FDT inhibited inflammatory macrophage accumulation by regulating the expression of Selp and Ccl2, which are both involved in monocyte adhesion and migration. The inhibition of monocyte recruitment by FDT is a new perspective to elucidate the anti-atherosclerotic mechanism of FDT, which has not been adopted in previous studies on FDT. Summary generation is an important research direction in natural language processing. Aimed at the problems of redundant information processing difficulties and an inability to generate high-quality summaries from long text in existing summary generation models, BART is the backbone model, an N + 1 coarse–fine-grained multistage summary generation framework is constructed, and a multistage mixed-attention unsupervised keyword extraction summary generation model is proposed (multistage mixed-attention unsupervised keyword extraction for summary generation, MSMAUKE-SummN). In the N-coarse-grained summary generation stages, a sentence filtering layer (PureText) is constructed to remove redundant information in long text. A mixed-attention unsupervised approach is used to iteratively extract keywords, assisting summary inference and enriching the global semantic information of coarse-grained summaries. In the 1-fine-grained summary generation stage, a self-attentive keyword selection module (KeywordSelect) is designed to obtain keywords with higher weights and enhance the local semantic representation of fine-grained summaries. Tandem N-coarse-grained and 1-fine-grained summary generation stages are used to obtain long text summaries through a multistage generation approach. The experimental results show that the model improves the ROUGE-1, ROUGE-2, and ROUGE-L metrics by a minimum of 0.75%, 1.48%, and 1.25% over the HMNET, TextRank, HAT-BART, DDAMS, and SummN models on summarized datasets such as AMI, ICSI, and QMSum. Mapping functional zones for rural landscapes is the foundational work for rural land use planning and plays a very important role in the economic development and resource management utilization of rural areas. However, the traditional manual delineation of functional zone boundaries empirically in rural areas is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and lacks the consideration of spatial landscape patterns. The emergence of high-resolution remote sensing imagery and image segmentation has facilitated the analysis of ground landscape information and patterns, but there is still a lack of functional zone boundary mapping methods applicable to rural landscapes. To address this, we propose a functional zoning method called multiscale merging of landscape contextual and shape characteristics with heterogeneity indices (M2LHI) for mapping geographic boundaries for rural landscapes based on high-resolution remote sensing imagery. The landscape contextual features were first constructed based on the geospatial distances of landscape types, and then, the dominance index and shape index were introduced to quantify the landscape heterogeneity by object-oriented image analysis. Then, the automated merging of adjacent landscape units based on the thresholds of the landscape heterogeneity indices was performed to map the initial zones. The final rural functional zones were defined based on the main function in the zone. The study was carried out in three typical rural landscapes (hilly countryside, flat countryside, and grassland countryside) located in Fujian, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia, China, and the freely available Gaofen-2 (GF-2) satellite imagery was used as the data source. We compared the boundaries of mapped functional zones and reference functional zones, and the matching and inclusion ratios of the final functional zones mapped in each case were bigger than 78%, indicating that the M2LHI method has a high ability to map the functional spatial patterns. The overall accuracies of mapping functional zones with different functions were 95.9%, 89.0%, and 92.1% for the respective cases. The results demonstrated that the M2LHI method effectively quantifies landscape heterogeneity and accurately delineates functional zones with different landscape patterns. To promote the bone repair ability of drug-loaded scaffolds, poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/graphene oxide (GO)/Salvianolic acid B (Sal-B)/aspirin (ASA) dual drug-loaded biomimetic composite scaffolds were prepared. The results showed that the addition of these two drugs delayed the gel formation of the composite system, but a biomimetic nanofiber structure could still be obtained by extending the gel time. The addition of Sal-B increased the hydrophilicity of the scaffold, while an increase in ASA reduced the porosity. Dual drug-loaded scaffolds had good haemocompatibility and synergically promoted the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells and enhanced alkaline phosphatase activity. Sustained-release experiments of the two drugs showed that the presence of ASA slowed the cumulative release of Sal-B, while Sal-B promoted the release of ASA. Kinetic modeling showed that the release of both drugs conforms to the Korsmeyer–Peppas model, but Sal-B conforms to the Fick diffusion mechanism and ASA follows Fick diffusion and carrier swelling/dissolution. Seashore paspalum (Paspalum vaginatum Swartz) is a perennial warm-season turfgrass which is known for its superb salinity tolerance. Compared to bermudagrass, seashore paspalum exhibited the adverse character of faster vertical growth, wider leaf, weak cold-, drought- and disease-resistance. In this study, we aimed to improve these unfavorable traits of seashore paspalum through the strategy of callus irradiation. The results showed that 2108 regenerated plants were obtained following the method of the seashore paspalum calluses irradiated by 60Co-γ rays (dose: 60 Gy, dose rate: 1 Gy/min). Morphological traits were measured combining with cluster analysis on the regenerated plants to select mutant lines with short leaves (A24 and A82) and thin leaves (A24, A83, and A120) as well as dwarfism (B73, B28, B3, A29, and B74). In addition, we found various mutant characters such as greenish leaf sheath (A69 and A71), soft leaf (B77, B17, and B110), and strong erectness (B5 and B9) under continuous observation. Through the comprehensive tolerance analysis following the index of survive rate, relative water content, leaf electrolyte leakage, MDA content; photochemical efficiency and leaf wilting coefficient, three drought-tolerant lines (A55, B72, and B44) and one cold-tolerant line (B59) were screened. This research proved that callus irradiation is an effective way to create new seashore paspalum germplasm, which provides valuable materials for accelerating the breeding process of seashore paspalum and further excavating the molecular regulatory mechanisms of these traits in turfgrass. Naringin is a dietary flavonoid glycoside with broad bioactivities, and it has been found to undergo extensive microbial metabolism in human gut. Microbial metabolites are believed to play an important role in the overall bioactivity of naringin. However, knowledge is scarce about its microbial metabolism in laboratory rats, which are the most commonly used animal model for naringin-related biomedical studies. Herein, we profiled the microbial metabolism of naringin in rat by an in vitro anaerobic fermentation combined with LC-MS/MS methods. A total of 35 microbial metabolites were identified, and corresponding metabolic pathways were proposed. Naringin and its metabolites were further quantified in fermentation samples. Rhoifolin, neoeriocitrin, neohesperidin, naringenin, methylated naringin, and hydroxylated naringin were detected as the primary microbial metabolites. Moreover, antioxidant capacity assays suggested that fermentation-associated microbial metabolites exhibited higher antioxidant activity than original naringin. Cadmium (Cd) is a non-essential heavy metal and high concentrations in plants causes toxicity of their edible parts and acts as a carcinogen to humans and animals. Paspalum vaginatum is widely cultivating as turfgrass due to its higher abiotic stress tolerance ability. However, there is no clear evidence to elucidate the mechanism for heavy metal tolerance, including Cd. In this study, an RNA sequencing technique was employed to investigate the key genes associated with Cd stress tolerance and accumulation in P. vaginatum. The results revealed that antioxidant enzyme activities catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione S-transferase GST) were significantly higher at 24 h than in other treatments. A total of 6820 (4457/2363, up-/down-regulated), 14,038 (9894/4144, up-/down-regulated) and 17,327 (7956/9371, up-/down-regulated) differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the Cd1 vs. Cd0, Cd4 vs. Cd0, and Cd24 vs. Cd0, respectively, were identified. The GO analysis and the KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that DEGs participated in many significant pathways in response to Cd stress. The response to abiotic stimulus, the metal transport mechanism, glutathione metabolism, and the consistency of transcription factor activity were among the most enriched pathways. The validation of gene expression by qRT-PCR results showed that heavy metal transporters and signaling response genes were significantly enriched with increasing sampling intervals, presenting consistency to the transcriptome data. Furthermore, over-expression of PvSnRK2.7 can positively regulate Cd-tolerance in Arabidopsis. In conclusion, our results provided a novel molecular mechanism of the Cd stress tolerance of P. vaginatum and will lay the foundation for target breeding of Cd tolerance in turfgrass. Aerogel materials are used in various fields, but there is a shortage of aerogel materials with an excellent combination of mechanical properties, thermal stability, and easy preparation. In this study, polyimide aerogel materials with superior mechanical properties, thermal stability, and low thermal conductivity were prepared by forming a double-gel system in the liquid phase. The amino-modified gel, prepared by coating SiO2 nano-microspheres with GO through a modified sol-gel method (SiO2@GO-NH2), was subsequently homogeneously dispersed with PAA wet gel in water to form a double-gel system. The construction of a double-gel system enabled the PI aerogel to shape a unique honeycomb porous structure and a multi-layered interface of PI/SiO2/GO. The final obtained PI aerogel possessed effective thermal conductivity (0.0309 W/m·K) and a high specific modulus (46.19 m2/s2). In addition, the high thermal stability (543.80 °C in Ar atmosphere) and the ability to retain properties under heat treatment proved its durability in high thermal environments. The hydrophobicity (131.55°) proves its resistance to water from the environment. The excellent performance of this PI aerogel and its durability in thermal working environments make it possible to be applied in varied industrial and research fields, such as construction and energy, where heat and thermal insulation are required. The self-restacking of graphene nanosheets inevitably compromises the electrochemical performance of conventional graphene-based materials. Herein, to solve this problem, we prepared a new type of three-dimensional porous aerogel with partially unzipped multiwalled carbon nanotubes inserted into graphene nanosheets via a reduction-reaction-induced self-assembly process. In the resulting aerogels, the inner carbon nanotubes (CNTs) tightly attach to the unzipped outer graphene nanoribbons (GNRs), which bridge with the graphene nanosheets. These interconnections bring them excellent electrical contact; the CNTs act as spacers to prevent the restacking of adjacent graphene nanosheets, and the abundant interconnected pores in the aerogels provide large channels for charge transfer. Accordingly, the aerogels exhibit a specific capacitance of 348.4 Fg−1 at a scan rate of 5 mVs−1, with capacitance retention remaining at 89.7% at a current density of 2 Ag−1 after 5000 cycles. Naringin is a dietary flavonoid glycoside with multiple bioactivities. It has been involved in numerous metabolism and excretion studies, and its metabolic properties are clear. However, information concerning the excretion profile of its original metabolites are still scarce, and few methods for simultaneous determination of multiple original metabolites of naringin in biological samples have been reported so far. In this study, a rapid and sensitive method for simultaneous determination of ten flavonoid metabolites of naringin in rat urine was developed with an UHPLC-Q-Trap-MS/MS system. One-step protein precipitation method with acetonitrile was used to extract analytes. A rapid chromatographic separation within 11 min was performed on an ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 column (2.1 mm × 50 mm, 1.7 μm) using gradient elution with a mobile phase of water and methanol, both with 0.1% formic acid (v/v). MS/MS detection was conducted in negative ion mode and multiple reactions monitoring scanning mode. The analytical method was fully validated and successfully applied to monitor the excretion profiles of naringin in rat urine. Quantitative results revealed the visible individual difference and low urinary recovery of flavonoid metabolites in the excretion of naringin, which may be helpful for further study to understand the in vivo behavior and action mechanism of naringin. Elymus sibiricus L. is an important cold-season grass with excellent cold and drought tolerance, good palatability, and nutrition. Flowering time is a key trait that affects forage and seed yield. Development of EST-SSR (expressed sequence tag simple sequence repeat) markers based on flowering genes contributes to the improvement of flowering traits. In the study, we detected 155 candidate genes related to flowering traits from 10,591 unigenes via transcriptome sequencing in early- and late-flowering genotypes. These candidate genes were mainly involved in the photoperiodic pathway, vernalization pathway, central integrator, and gibberellin pathway. A total of 125 candidate gene-based EST-SSRs were developed. Further, 15 polymorphic EST-SSRs closely associated to 13 candidate genes were used for genetic diversity and population structure analysis among 20 E. sibiricus accessions, including two contrasting panels (early-flowering and late-flowering). Among them, primer 28366, designed from heading date 3a (HD3a), effectively distinguished early- and late-flowering genotypes using a specifically amplified band of 175 bp. The polymorphic information content (PIC) value ranged from 0.12 to 0.48, with an average of 0.25. The unweighted pair group method analysis (UPGMA) cluster and structure analysis showed that the 20 E. sibiricus genotypes with similar flowering times tended to group together. Naringenin, a flavonoid compound which exists abundantly in Citrus fruits, is proven to possess excellent antitussive and expectorant effects. However, the clinical applications of naringenin are restricted by its poor solubility and low local concentration by oral administration. The aim of the present study is to prepare a naringenin-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (naringenin-HPβCD) inclusion as an inhalation solution for pulmonary delivery. The naringenin-HPβCD inclusion was characterized by phase solubility study, XRD, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR), and two-dimensional rotating frame Overhauser effect spectroscopy (2D ROESY). The in vitro permeability of the inclusion was evaluated on Calu-3 cells and the pharmacokinetic profile of pulmonary delivery was investigated in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Based on the linear model of phase solubility study, the relationship between naringenin and HPβCD was identified as AL type with a 1:1 stoichiometry. XRD, DSC, and NMR studies indicated that the entire naringenin molecule is encapsulated into the cavity of HPβCD. HPβCD could increase the concentration of naringenin in the epithelium-lining fluid (ELF) of Calu-3 cells and act as a sustained release system for naringenin. The pharmacokinetic profile of naringenin-HPβCD inclusion showed rapid response and higher local concentration by pulmonary delivery. In conclusion, pulmonary delivery of naringenin-HPβCD inclusion is a promising formulation strategy, which could provide a new possibility for the clinical application of naringenin. Ganpu tea is an emerging tea drink produced from Pu-erh tea and the pericarp of Citrus reticulate Chachi (GCP). Recently, it has been increasingly favored by consumers due to the potential health effects and special taste. However, information concerning its chemical profile and biological activities is scarce. In this work, a total of 92 constituents were identified in hot-water extracts of Ganpu tea with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole-time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). Moreover, the antioxidative and gut microbiota modulatory properties of Ganpu tea were investigated in rats after long-term dietary consumption. Ganpu tea and GCP could significantly enhance the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) by 13.4% (p < 0.05) and 15.1% (p < 0.01), as well as the activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) by 16.3% (p < 0.01) and 20.5% (p < 0.01), respectively. Both showed better antioxidant capacities than Pu-erh tea. Ganpu tea increased the abundance of Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, and Lactococcus, suggesting the potential of Ganpu tea in modulating the gut microbiota to benefit human health. Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) composites containing carbon fiber (CF) or polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)-grafted carbon fiber (PMMA-g-CF) were prepared by melt compounding. The rheology, non-isothermal crystallization behavior, and mechanical and thermal properties of pure PET, PET/CF and PET/PMMA-g-CF composites were investigated. The results show that the addition of CF or PMMA-g-CF significantly increases the storage modulus (G′), loss modulus (G″), and complex viscosity (η*) of the composites at low frequency. The Cole-Cole plots confirm that the surface modification of CF leads to a better interaction between the CF and PET, and then decreases the heterogeneity of the polymeric systems, which is confirmed by the SEM observation on the tensile fracture surface of the composites. Non-isothermal crystallization analysis shows that the CF or PMMA-g-CF could serve as nucleation agent to accelerate the crystallization rate of the composites, and the effect of PMMA-g-CF is stronger than that of CF. The result is further confirmed by the analysis of the crystallization activation energy for all composites calculated by the Flynn-Wall-Ozawa method. Moreover, the tensile and impact strength and the thermal stability of the composites are improved by CF, while the incorporation of PMMA-g-CF further enhances the tensile and impact strength and thermal stability. Citri reticulatae pericarpium (CRP), the dried pericarps of Citrus reticulata Blanco and its cultivars, has been widely used in drugs and foods in China for centuries. In this study, an accurate and feasible analytical method based on HS-SPME-GC-MS coupled with multivariate statistical analyses was developed to comprehensively compare volatile compounds of pericarps derived from Citrus reticulata “Chachi” (“Guangchenpi” in Chinese, GCP) and other cultivars of Citrus reticulata Blanco (“Chenpi” in Chinese, CP). Principal component analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and orthogonal partial least-squares-discrimination analysis were performed to extract meaningful attributes from volatile profiles based on GC-MS data. Results indicated that samples from GCP and CP could easily be differentiated, and seven potential chemical markers were screened for the quality control of CRP. Although Aurantii Fructus (AF) and Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (AFI) are both the fruits of the same rutaceae plant at different stages of growth, they exert similar yet distinct clinical effects. The chemical composition is crucial for quality control as well as therapeutic application. To address this concern, it is significant to evaluate the similarities and differences of the constituents in both AF and AFI. The extract of AF and AFI were comprehensively analyzed by ultra fast liquid chromatography-photodiode array detector-triple-time of flight-tandem mass spectrometry (UFLC-DAD-Triple TOF-MS/MS). Among the 40 compounds detected, 19 metabolites were detected in both the AF and AFI; whereas 13 compounds were only detected in AF and five constituents were exclusively detected in AFI. In particular, even in AFI, three compounds were only identified in AFI (Citrus aurantium’ L. and its cultivar). Among the 18 compounds confirmed by standard database, 13 compounds were reported in AF and AFI for the first time. Furthermore, the distinction was also revealed by the content of naringin, hesperidin, neohesperidin, and synephrine. The study directly contributed to the similarities and differences of AF and AFI. Exocarpium Citri grandis (ECG) is an important Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for the treatment of cough and phlegm, and the flavonoids contained were considered the main effective components. To date, the systematic chemical profiling of these flavonoids and derived in vivo metabolites in human have not been well investigated. ECG was extracted using boiling water and then provided to volunteers for oral administration. Following the ingestion, urine samples were collected from volunteers over 48 h. The extract and urine samples were analyzed using ultra-fast liquid chromatography/quadrupole-time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UFLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) system to screen and identify flavonoids and derived in vivo metabolites. A total of 18 flavonoids were identified in the ECG extract, and 20 metabolites, mainly glucuronide and sulfate conjugates, were screened in urine samples collected post consumption. The overall excretion of naringenin metabolites corresponded to 5.45% of intake and occurred mainly within 4–12 h after the ingestion. Meanwhile, another 29 phenolic catabolites were detected in urine. Obtained data revealed that flavonoids were abundant in the ECG extract, and these components underwent extensive phase II metabolism in humans.
