From the perspective of optimization, most of the current mainstream remote sensing data fusion methods are based on traditional mathematical optimization or single objective optimization. The former requires manual parameter tuning and easily falls into local optimum. Although the latter can overcome the shortcomings of traditional methods, the single optimization objective makes it unable to combine the advantages of multiple models, which may lead to distortion of the fused image. To address the problems of missing multi-model combination and parameters needing to be set manually in the existing methods, a pansharpening method based on multi-model collaboration and multi-objective optimization is proposed, called MMCMOO. In the proposed new method, the multi-spectral image fusion problem is transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem. Different evolutionary strategies are used to design a variety of population generation mechanisms, and a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is used to optimize the two proposed target models, so as to obtain the best pansharpening quality. The experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to the traditional methods and single objective methods in terms of visual comparison and quantitative analysis on our datasets. The power sector is one of the major CO2-emitting industries in China. It is also the first key emissions control industry included in China's national carbon trading market established in 2021. Therefore, based on the data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2015 to 2022, this study analyzes the impact of the national carbon market policy on the carbon emissions of the power industry based on the generalized Difference-in-Difference (DID) model. Based on the method of text analysis, this paper constructs the carbon market policy intensity index of each region and incorporates it into the DID model. Empirical analysis finds that the national carbon market policy can significantly inhibit the carbon emissions of the power industry. However, the heterogeneity analysis of 30 provinces and cities shows that the national carbon market policy has a significant impact on the regions that already have a carbon pilot, but not on the non-pilot regions. Therefore, this paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the national carbon market policy in the power industry emissions control, and also exposes the heterogeneity between regions, providing an important empirical basis for the inclusion of other energy-intensive industries. Deep networks-based models have achieved excellent performances in various applications for extracting discriminative feature representations by convolutional neural networks (CNN) or recurrent neural networks (RNN). However, CNN or RNN may not work when handling data without temporal/spatial structures. Therefore, finding a new technique to extract features instead of CNN or RNN is a necessity. Gradient Boosted Decision Trees (GBDT) can select the features with the largest information gain when building trees. In this paper, we propose an architecture based on the ensemble of decision trees and neural network (NN) for multiple machine learning tasks, e.g., classification, regression, and ranking. It can be regarded as an extension of the widely used deep-networks-based model, in which we use GBDT instead of CNN or RNN. This architecture consists of two main parts: (1) the decision forest layers, which focus on learning features from the input data, (2) the fully connected layers, which focus on distilling knowledge from the decision forest layers. Powered by these two parts, the proposed model could handle data without temporal/spatial structures. This model can be efficiently trained by stochastic gradient descent via back-propagation. In this paper, we ponder a kind of discrete-time fractional-order complex-valued fuzzy BAM neural network. Firstly, in order to guarantee the quasi-projective synchronization of the considered networks, an original quantitative control strategy is designed. Next, by virtue of the relevant definitions and properties of the Mittag-Leffler function, we propose a novel discrete-time fractional-order Halanay inequality, which is more efficient for disposing of the discrete-time fractional-order models with time delays. Then, based on the new lemma, fractional-order h-difference theory, and comparison principle, we obtain some easy-to-verify synchronization criteria in terms of algebraic inequalities. This study examined the impact of green mergers and acquisitions (green M&As) on corporate environmental performance. Applying the Differences-in-Differences (DID) model to a sample of Chinese heavy-polluting-industry companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2010 to 2022, our study results show that the adoption of green M&As by the listed Chinese heavy polluters can lower corporate environmental capital expenditure and significantly improve corporate environmental performance. Meanwhile, the positive effects of green M&As on environmental performance are also found to be stronger for state-owned enterprises, young enterprises, and enterprises located in areas with low financial investments in energy efficiency and environmental protection, according to a heterogeneity study conducted for this paper. The analysis of mediating effects shows that the green M&A of heavily polluting firms will have a catalytic effect on the improvement of firms' environmental performance by promoting their green technological innovation and, in turn, their environmental performance. Furthermore, the moderating effect analysis demonstrates that the quality of the firm's internal controls and the CEO's prior environmental experience are both factors that can support the beneficial impact of green M&A on the enhancement of the firm's environmental performance. This paper enriches the theoretical research system of green M&A and green investment driving mechanisms, and at the same time provides empirical support and strategic reference for the green strategy decision of heavy-polluting enterprises. This paper introduces the concept of equivalence operators based on overlap and grouping functions where the associativity property is not strongly required. Overlap functions and grouping functions are weaker than positive and continuous t-norms and t-conorms, respectively. Therefore, these equivalence operators do not necessarily satisfy certain properties, such as associativity and the neutrality principle. In this paper, two models of fuzzy equivalence operators are obtained by the composition of overlap functions, grouping functions and fuzzy negations. Their main properties are also studied. As an ecological factor of wetland ecosystems, dew condenses frequently and in large amounts. In the process of marsh wetland restoration, the differences in water depth and plant types in different restoration years may affect dew condensation and evaporation. In this study, by monitoring dew in natural marshes, unrestored marshes (farmlands), and marshes restored 15, 10, and 5 years ago in the plant growth period of 2022 in the Sanjiang Plain, China, it was found that the "cold and wet effect" of marshes was conducive to dew condensation and could prolong the evaporation time of dew. In the process of marsh restoration, the number of dew days increased from 106 days (farmland) to 122 days (15-year marsh restoration), and the duration increased from 791.1 ± 90.3 min (farmland) to 869.4 ± 100.5 min (15-year marsh restoration). The dew intensity increased from 0.06 ± 0.02 mm (farmland) to 0.13 ± 0.04 mm (15-year marsh restoration), and the annual dew amount increased from 35.10 mm/y (farmland) to 44.86 mm/y (15-year marsh restoration). The number of dew days and the duration were similar to those of natural marshes after 15 years of restoration. SO42−, Ca2+, NH4+ and NO3− were the main ions of dew in marsh in each restoration year and farmland. There was no significant difference in the ion concentration (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, NH4+, F−, Cl−, NO2−, and SO42−) of natural marsh dew compared with that 15 years after restoration (p > 0.05), except for NO3−. The marsh restored after 15 years had basically restored the characteristics of natural marsh in terms of the quality and quantity of dew. Baseflow is a stable part of streamflow and the main component of streamflow during the dry season. Baseflow plays an important role in the water cycle, and in ecological environment protection of the Yellow River basin (YRB). Taking the Zuli, Kuye, and Tuwei basins, and the Jingle sub-basin as examples, the baseflow was separated using a recursive digital filtering method. The intra-annual, inter-annual, and chronological characteristics of baseflow and the baseflow index (BFI) were analyzed, and driving factors were analyzed from the perspective of climate-change and human-impact factors. The results showed that: (1) The annual baseflow of the basins mainly declined, trending downward in all four test basins, while the BFI increased in two of the basins and remained nearly constant in the other two basins; however, the distributions of baseflow and the BFI were more uniform. (2) The intra-annual patterns for baseflow and the BFI showed changes between earlier and later periods. (3) Precipitation and soil and water conservation measures were the primary driving forces of baseflow change in the basins. The influence of the former weakened while the latter strengthened, and coal mining in the Kuye River and Tuwei River basins also influenced baseflow significantly. (4) When the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) < 0.375, the BFI of test watersheds gradually decreased with the increase in the NDVI. When 0.375 < NDVI < 0.65, the BFI of the basins gradually increased with the increase in the NDVI and the underlying surface continued to improve. As urbanization continues to advance globally, the issue of "urban ailments" has become increasingly prominent. To promptly identify problems arising from urban development, it is crucial to investigate not only the quality of human habitats at the city and regional scales but also the micro-level living environments. Indeed, studying residential living conditions enables the specific problems within urban planning to be unearthed, facilitating timely adjustments for the improvement of urban habitation. However, a precise and objective methodology for accurately measuring the quality of residential living environments is still lacking. In recent years, the urban renewal concept has proven to be proactive in enhancing the living environment quality of residential areas. In this study, we focus on residential areas within Hangzhou's Binjiang District, China, and integrate diverse datasets including real estate websites, digital mapping platforms, remote sensing imagery, points of interest (POIs), and land-use planning data. By examining and analyzing the urban renewal concept, we establish a comprehensive set of evaluation indicators for the living environment quality in residential areas, including five aspects: residential and environmental factors; transportation and communication; education and culture; lifestyle and leisure; and healthcare and well-being. Subsequently, a holistic assessment of the Binjiang District is conducted. Our research findings demonstrate that in the context of urban renewal, the proposed living environment quality evaluation method, based on multi-source data, exhibits significantly higher practicality and effectiveness. The residential environment in Binjiang District exhibits a spatial pattern with higher quality in the northern regions and lower quality in the southern regions. Across different dimensional layers, the residential and environmental quality shows a higher trend along the river areas and a lower trend in the internal areas, as well as higher quality in newly developed sections compared to older ones. The transportation and communication quality exhibits a decreasing trend radiating from multiple core areas. In other dimensions, there is a concentration of high-quality residential areas in the administrative vicinity and surrounding Binjiang University Town. Hotspot analysis further substantiates a significant spatial correlation between the quality of the living environment and the degree of agglomeration, highlighting a positive relationship between the two factors. In order to realize the safe transportation of liquefied ethane pipeline in the Oilfield of China, it is necessary to fully study the process of pipeline replacement, operation and shutdown. The accurate calculation of physical property parameters and critical parameters is the basis of studying the gas-liquid two-phase flow and heat and mass transfer process of liquefied ethane in the pipeline. In this paper, different equations of states (EOSs) were used to predict the physical properties (such as density, dew point and dynamic viscosity) of ethane or ethane mixture, and the predicted results were compared with the corresponding experimental data from the literature. The prediction performance of different EOSs were evaluated by using two evaluation indicators, including average absolute deviation (AAD) and average relative deviation (ARD). The results showed that the PR-Peneloux EOS has the best performance for predicting the density of CH4-C2H6-N2 mixture with an ARD value of 4.46%; for predicting the dew point, the BWRS EOS exhibits the superior performance with an ARD value of 0.58%; and for predicting dynamic viscosity, the SuperTRAPP formula has the smallest calculation error, with an ARD value of 1.33%. Considering the comparison results of the calculation accuracy of density, dew point and dynamic viscosity of ethane or ethane mixture by using different EOSs, PR-Peneloux EOS was recommended to calculate the phase characteristics in the process of ethane pipeline replacement operation. Implementing real-time prediction and warning systems is an effective approach for mitigating flash flood disasters. However, there is still a challenge in improving the accuracy and reliability of flood prediction models. This study develops a hydrological prediction model named SCE-GUH, which combines the Shuffled Complex Evolution-University of Arizona optimization algorithm with the general unit hydrograph routing method. Our aims were to investigate the applicability of the general unit hydrograph in runoff calculations and its performance in predicting flash flood events. Furthermore, we examined the influence of parameter variations in the general unit hydrograph on flood simulations and conducted a comparative analysis with the conventional Nash unit hydrograph. The research findings demonstrate that the utilization of the general unit hydrograph method can considerably decrease computational errors and enhance prediction accuracy. The flood peak detection rate was found to be 100% in all four study watersheds. The average Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency coefficients were 0.83, 0.83, 0.84, and 0.87, while the corresponding coefficients of determination were 0.86, 0.85, 0.86, and 0.94, and the absolute errors of peak present time were 0.19 h, 0.40 h, 0.91 h, and 0.82 h, respectively. Moreover, the utilization of the general unit hydrograph method was found to significantly reduce the peak-to-current time difference, thereby enhancing simulation accuracy. Parameter variations have a substantial influence on peak flow characteristics. The SCE-GUH model, which incorporates the topographic and geomorphological features of the watershed along with the optimization algorithm, is capable of effectively characterizing the catchment properties of the watershed and offers valuable insights for enhancing the early warning and prediction of hydrological forecasting. In this paper, a Comprehensive Diagram Method (CDM) for a Multi-Layer Perceptron Neuron Network (MLPNN) is proposed to realize natural gas energy metering using temperature, pressure, and the speed of sound from an ultrasonic flowmeter. Training and testing of the MLPNN model were performed on the basis of 1003 real data points describing the compression factors (Z-factors) and calorific values of the three main components of natural gas in Sichuan province, China. Moreover, 20 days of real tests were conducted to verify the measurements' accuracy and the adaptability of the new intelligent method. Based on the values of the Mean Relative Errors and the Root Mean Square errors for the learning and test errors calculated on the basis of the actual data, the best-quality MLP 3-5-1 network for the metering of Z-factors and the new CDM methods for the metering of calorific values were experimentally selected. The Bayesian regularized MLPNN (BR-MLPNN) 3-5-1 network showed that the Z-factors of natural gas have a maximum relative error of −0.44%, and the new CDM method revealed calorific values with a maximum relative error of 1.90%. In addition, three local tests revealed that the maximum relative error of the daily cumulative amount of natural gas energy was 2.39%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Animal husbandry is a vital sector in China's agriculture sector, contributing to over one-third of its agricultural output, and more than 40% of farmers' income. However, this industry is vulnerable to risks arising from production and operation, such as disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and market fluctuations. Livestock insurance can help mitigate these risks, but the lack of reliable data on shed environments has hindered its effectiveness. The objective of this study is to propose a livestock shed environmental regulatory platform that utilizes blockchain and the Internet of Things to ensure data authenticity, real-time monitoring, and transparency in the regulatory process. The platform also automates the insurance process, reducing costs and improving efficiency. The proposed platform employs blockchain to ensure data authenticity and devices to monitor and collect real-time environmental data. It also utilizes smart contracts to automate the insurance process, from negotiating and signing contracts to making insurance claims. The system's design rationale, architecture, and implementation are detailed. The proposed platform has been implemented and currently manages over 300,000 livestock animals with more than 350,000 insurance contracts signed. The use of blockchain and the Internet of Things has ensured data authenticity, real-time monitoring, and transparency in the regulatory process, while the automation of the insurance process has reduced costs and improved efficiency. The proposed livestock shed environmental regulatory platform has the potential to improve the effectiveness of livestock insurance in China by addressing the critical issue of data reliability. The use of blockchain and the Internet of Things has enabled real-time monitoring, data authenticity, and transparency in the regulatory process, while the automation of the insurance process has improved efficiency and reduced costs. As the saline-alkali paddy area continues to grow, the nutrient (e.g., nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)) runoff loss is becoming more serious in the world. The N-fertilizer application affects the nutrient runoff loss risk in paddy. Selecting suitable fertilizer types to reduce nutrient loss is beneficial to agricultural sustainability. However, the effects of N-fertilizer application in saline-alkali paddy are not clear. This study measured the N and P concentration of surface water in saline-alkali paddy, using various N—fertilizer treatments (i.e., urea (U), urea with urease—nitrification inhibitors (UI), organic–inorganic compound fertilizer (OCF), carbon—based slow—release fertilizer (CSF), and no N fertilization (CK)). Based on the structural equation model, both phosphate (PO43−-P) and total−P (TP) concentrations had a positive influence on total-N (TN) concentration regardless of N−fertilizer types applied. Potential risks of ammonia—N (NH4+—N) and nitrate—N (NO3−—N) runoff losses were reduced in UI treatment, but the TN and TP losses were increased. At the panicle-initiation fertilizer stage, the NO3−−N, TN, and TP concentrations in CSF and OCF treatments were lower than U. The CSF application can control the TP runoff loss risk during the rice-growing season. UI should not be suggested for the control of nutrient runoff loss in saline-alkali paddy. Dextranase is widely used in sugar production, drug synthesis, material preparation, and biotechnology, among other fields. The immobilization of dextranase using nanomaterials in order to make it reusable, is a hot research topic. In this study, the immobilization of purified dextranase was performed using different nanomaterials. The best results were obtained when dextranase was immobilized on titanium dioxide (TiO2), and a particle size of 30 nm was achieved. The optimum immobilization conditions were pH 7.0, temperature 25 °C, time 1 h, and immobilization agent TiO2. The immobilized materials were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and field emission gun scanning electron microscopy. The optimum temperature and pH of the immobilized dextranase were 30 °C and 7.5, respectively. The activity of the immobilized dextranase was >50% even after 7 times of reuse, and 58% of the enzyme was active even after 7 days of storage at 25 °C, indicating the reproducibility of the immobilized enzyme. The adsorption of dextranase by TiO2 nanoparticles exhibited secondary reaction kinetics. Compared with free dextranase, the hydrolysates of the immobilized dextranase were significantly different, and consisted mainly of isomaltotriose and isomaltotetraose. Dew is a part of the water cycle of ecosystems and is a source of water and humidity. The climate characteristics of the frost-free period in Northeast China are suitable for dew condensation, and dew is an important factor of water balance in this area. Northeast China is among the most significant warming areas in China, with an obvious "warm and dry" climate trend, which may affect dew condensation. To determine the dew amounts in different ecosystems in Northeast China and the influence of climate change on these amounts, dew condensation in farmland (corn), wetland (Carex lasiocarpa) and urban ecosystems (Syringa oblata Lindl.) was monitored during the growing period (May to October) from 2005 to 2021. The results showed that the annual average number of dew days was 132.8 in a wetland in Fujin, 122.9 in a farmland in Lishu and 118.1 in an urban area in Changchun. The daily dew intensity in the three ecosystems was lowest in May and highest in July and August. The average daily dew intensity was higher in the wetland (0.125 ± 0.069 mm) than the farmland (0.061 ± 0.026 mm) and urban area (0.028 ± 0.009 mm). The annual dew amount was also highest in the wetland (44.09 ± 7.51 mm) compared to the farmland (34.46 ± 3.54 mm) and much higher than that in the urban ecosystem (25.32 ± 3.29 mm). The annual dew in the farmland, wetland and urban ecosystems accounted for 7.92 ± 2.76%, 14.98 ± 5.93% and 6.71 ± 2.66% of the rainfall in the same period, respectively. The results indicated that dew was an important source of water and that wetlands had greater dew deposition than farmlands and urban areas. Considering the climate data during the dew condensation period from 1957 to 2021, the annual dew amount showed a decreasing trend of −0.40 mm/10a (p < 0.05) in Changchun. However, under the joint influence of relative humidity (RH) and wind speed (V), the impact of climate change on dew condensation was not obvious. This paper presents a compact two-dimensional varifocal-scanning imaging device, with the capability of continuously variable focal length and a large scanning range, actuated by artificial muscle material. The varifocal function is realized by the principle of laterally shifting cubic phase masks and the scanning function is achieved by the principle of the decentered lens. One remarkable feature of these two principles is that both are based on the lateral displacements perpendicular to the optical axis. Artificial muscle material is emerging as a good choice of soft actuators capable of high strain, high efficiency, fast response speed, and light weight. Inspired by the artificial muscle, the dielectric elastomer is used as an actuator and produces the lateral displacements of the Alvarez lenses and the decentered lenses. A two-dimensional varifocal scanning imaging device prototype was established and validated through experiments to verify the feasibility of the proposed varifocal-scanning device. The results showed that the focal length variation of the proposed varifocal scanning device is up to 4.65 times higher (31.6 mm/6.8 mm), and the maximum scanning angle was 26.4°. The rise and fall times were 110 ms and 185 ms, respectively. Under the digital revolution that spawned in recent years, AI support is raised in the context of urban design and governance as it aims to match the operation of the urban developing process. It offers more chances for ensuring equality in public participation and empowerment, with the possibility of projection and computation of integrated social, cultural, and physical spaces. Therefore, this research explored how scenario simulation of social attributes and social interaction dimensions can be incorporated into digital twin city research and development, which is seen as a problem to be addressed in the refinement and planning of future digital platforms and management in terms of decision-making. To achieve the research aim, this paper examined the evolution of social governance state and strain decision models, built a simulation method for the evolution of complex systems of social governance driven by the fusion of data and knowledge, and proposed a system response to residents' ubiquitous perception and ubiquitous participation. The findings can help inspire the application of computational decision-making support in urban governance, and enhance the internal drive for comprehensive and sustainable urban regeneration. High-intensity interval training (HIIT), a new type of exercise, can effectively prevent the progression of metabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of HIIT on liver inflammation and metabolic disorders in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD) combined with streptozotocin (STZ) and to explore the possible mechanisms of macrophage polarization and mitochondrial dynamics. Our results showed that HIIT can increase fatty acid oxidation-related gene (PPARα, CPT1α, and ACOX1) mRNA levels and decrease adipogenesis-related gene (PPARγ) mRNA levels to improve liver metabolism in T2DM mice. The improvement of lipid metabolism disorder may occur through increasing liver mitochondrial biosynthesis-related genes (PGC-1α and TFAM) and restoring mitochondrial dynamics-related gene (MFN2 and DRP1) mRNA levels. HIIT can also reduce the mRNA levels of liver inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-6, and MCP-1) in T2DM mice. The reduction in liver inflammation may occur through reducing the expression of total macrophage marker (F4/80) and M1 macrophage marker (CD86) mRNA and protein and increasing the expression of M2 macrophage marker (CD163, CD206, and Arg1) mRNA and protein in the liver. HIIT can also increase the expression of insulin signaling pathway (IRS1, PI3K, and AKT) mRNA and protein in the liver of T2DM mice, which may be related to the improvements in liver inflammation and lipid metabolism. In conclusion, these results suggested that 8 weeks of HIIT can improve inflammation and lipid metabolism disorders in the liver of type 2 diabetes mellitus mice, macrophage M1/M2 polarization, and mitochondrial dynamics may be involved in this process. Marinated vegetables are traditional cold dishes with a long history and special flavor in the Chinese deli market. However, the traditional thermal-and-soaking (TS) procedure often results in unreproducible flavor quality properties of marinated vegetables and waste of brine and time in production. A novel green and sustainable technique, high-pressure processing (HPP), has caught the attention of the food industry. In this study, the effects of HPP and TS treatment on the visual, flavor, textural, and microbiological qualities of Chinese marinated lotus root slices were investigated. Compared to the TS products, lighter color, more varieties of volatile compounds, and crunchier texture were detected in the HPP products. Throughout the 4 °C, 25 °C, and 45 °C shelf life challenges, the HPP products retained their original color and crunchiness better than the TS ones, whereas no significant differences were found in total viable counts (TVCs) in the first half of the shelf lives. The Arrhenius model under the first-order reaction of TVC deterioration showed a good fit to the shelf life of the HPP marinated lotus root slices. In this paper, we devise a system for architectural simulations that considers the volumetric and three-dimensional properties or the energy sources involved in the energy exchanges within or around edifices and built or urban spaces. The advances are based in optics theory evolving from the assumptions presented in the book The Photic Field by P. H. Moon and D. E. Spencer, with added improvements suggested by D. DiLaura. Such procedure is deftly performed by means of solving complex integral equations, which were unavailable until recently and originate in the research developed by the authors. This experimental software is called DianaX. The advantages of this new system allow for a clearer visualization of the performance of buildings in terms of radiated energy. Reductions in the amounts of used energy can be achieved precisely by means of the design process of the software, which can be considered in some respects as a Design Tool. With this tool, the analysis of heritage building paradigms is feasible as it assesses the potential of new foreseen projects taking into account new artificial lighting devices that deviate from the conventional linear or point approach in the domain. The main finding demonstrated is the feasibility and appropriateness of this method to address the problems posed. Dew is an important water input and promotes plant growth. Dew condenses on plant leaves at night, and a portion of this dew returns to the atmosphere through evaporation. The amount of dew that evaporates is not equal to the amount of condensation; however, the dew evaporation process has not received enough attention. By monitoring the dew condensation and evaporation processes associated with four typical shrubs (Syringa, Hemiptelea, Buxus, and Cornus) in northeast China, we found that dew condensation started approximately 30 min after sunset, finished approximately 30 min before sunrise, and then turned to the evaporation phase. Dew had completely depleted approximately 4 h after sunrise. The dew evaporation period was negatively correlated with the wind speed (p < 0.01) and positively correlated with temperature, solar radiation, and relative humidity (RH) (p < 0.01). The average evaporation periods of Syringa, Buxus, Cornus, and Hemiptelea were 282 ± 21 min, 255 ± 26 min, 242 ± 22 min, and 229 ± 17 min, respectively. The daily evaporation amounts in May and September reached the minimum and maximum values, respectively, and the evaporation intensity of dew was positively correlated with RH (p < 0.01). There was no significant difference in the daily evaporation amounts of Syringa, Hemiptelea, Buxus, or Cornus (p > 0.05), and the annual evaporation amounts of these four plants were 17.05 mm/y, 16.38 mm/y, 21.94 mm/y, and 16.15 mm/y, respectively. The microstructure of leaves affected both the rate and amount of evaporation. Dew evaporated faster on hydrophilic leaves, and leaves with high trichome and stomatal densities had lower proportions of the dew evaporation amount to the condensation amount. The proportions of the dew evaporation amount to the condensation amount derived for Syringa, Hemiptelea, Buxus, and Cornus were 60.38%, 46.07%, 57.24%, and 52.81%, respectively. This study supplements our understanding of dew evaporation amounts, providing information that was missing in the near-surface hydrological cycle and aiding in the assessment of the ecological significance of dew to plants. Intestinal diseases are mainly caused by a decrease in the relative abundance of probiotics and an increase in the number of pathogenic bacteria due to dysbiosis of the intestinal flora. High degree polymerization isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO) can promote probiotic metabolism and proliferation. In this study, the dextranase (PsDex1711) gene of marine bacterial Pseudarthrobacter sp. RN22 was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The optimal pH and temperature of the dextranase were 6.0 and 30 °C, respectively, showing the highest stability at 20 °C. The dextran T70 could be hydrolyzed to produce IMO3, IMO4, IMO5, and IMO6 with a high degree of polymerization. The hydrolysate of 1 mg/mL could significantly promote the growth of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium after 12 h culture and the formation of biofilms by 58.2%. The hydrolysates could promote the proliferation of probiotics. Furthermore, the IC50 of scavenging rate of DPPH, hydroxyl radical, and superoxide anion was less than 20 mg/mL. Artificial intelligence-assisted security is an important field of research in relation to information security. One of the most important tasks is to distinguish between normal and abnormal network traffic (such as malicious or sudden traffic). Traffic data are usually extremely unbalanced, and this seriously hinders the detection of outliers. Therefore, the identification of outliers in unbalanced datasets has become a key issue. To help solve this challenge, there is increasing interest in focusing on one-class classification methods that train models based on the samples of a single given class. In this paper, long short-term memory (LSTM) is introduced into one-class classification, and one-class LSTM (OC-LSTM) is proposed based on the traditional one-class support vector machine (OC-SVM). In contrast with other hybrid deep learning methods based on auto-encoders, the proposed method is an end-to-end training network that uses a loss function such as the OC-SVM optimization objective for model training. A comprehensive experiment on three large complex network traffic datasets showed that this method is superior to the traditional shallow method and the most advanced deep method. Furthermore, the proposed method can provide an effective reference for anomaly detection research in the field of network security, especially for the application of one-class classification. Efficient and durable catalysts are crucial for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The discovery of the high OER catalytic activity in Ni12P5 has attracted a great deal of attention recently. Herein, the microscopic mechanism of OER on the surface of Ni12P5 is studied using density functional theory calculations (DFT) and ab initio molecular dynamics simulation (AIMD). Our results demonstrate that the H2O molecule is preferentially adsorbed on the P atom instead of on the Ni atom, indicating that the nonmetallic P atom is the active site of the OER reaction. AIMD simulations show that the dissociation of H from the H2O molecule takes place in steps; the hydrogen bond changes from Oa-H⋯Ob to Oa⋯H-Ob, then the hydrogen bond breaks and an H+ is dissociated. In the OER reaction on nickel phosphides, the rate-determining step is the formation of the OOH group and the overpotential of Ni12P5 is the lowest, thus showing enhanced catalytic activity over other nickel phosphides. Moreover, we found that the charge of Ni and P sites has a linear relationship with the adsorption energy of OH and O, which can be utilized to optimize the OER catalyst. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this article is to disclose the strenuous efforts of László Hudec in China and Antonin Raymond in Japan and India to create a modern architectural stance by heralding an incipient space syntax. At the turn of the 19th century, for dynastic, political and economic reasons, Eastern Asia had very little modern architecture. It is a surprising fact that, out of happenstance, two European architects, Antonin Raymond and László Hudec, had to intervene to remedy this situation, to the point of becoming 20th century icons in Japan and China. Their fruitful careers spanned over thirty years and included locations like Tamil Nadu and the Philippines. The oriental territories were not an easy ground for the bold architectural achievements that they produced. Despite faraway strangeness and uncountable personal losses, in revolutions and wars, which eventually forced them both to leave for the United States of America and never to return, they were successful in the manner of establishing a broad avenue for modern Asian architecture which is still recognizable today thanks to their systematic approach. However, theirs is an endangered heritage and the intention of this article is to offer a just remembrance of the way in which such actions could be performed, how they predated by many years a syntactic approach to architectural composition and why their legacy should be preserved. Obtaining overlap/grouping functions from a given pair of overlap/grouping functions is an important method of generating overlap/grouping functions, which can be viewed as a binary operation on the set of overlap/grouping functions. In this paper, firstly, we studied closures of overlap/grouping functions w.r.t. ⊛-composition. In addition, then, we show that these compositions are order preserving. Recycling and gradient utilization (GU) of new energy vehicle (NEV) power batteries plays a significant role in promoting the sustainable development of the economy, society and environment in the context of China's NEV power battery retirement tide. In this paper, the battery recycling subjects and GU subjects were regarded as members in an alliance, and an evolutionary game model of competition and cooperation between the two types of subjects was established. Evolution conditions and paths of the stable cooperation modes between these two were explored. Suggestions were proposed to avoid entering a state of deadlock and promote the alliance to achieve the "win-win" cooperation mode of effective resource recovery and environmental sustainability. The results revealed four types of certain situations, two types of uncertain situations, and one type of deadlock situation for the evolution of alliance cooperation. The factors of the market environment are evident in not only changing the evolution paths and steady-states of the alliance but also in breaking the evolution deadlock. However, the sensitivity of the members in the alliance to different types of parameters varies greatly. It is difficult for the government to guide the formation of an ideal steady-state of cooperation or break the deadlock of evolution by a single strategy, such as subsidies or supervision. The combination of subsidy-and-supervision or phased regulation should be adopted. Only increasing subsidies is likely to weaken the function of the market and have a counterproductive effect. Plant leaf surface moisture is a frequent meteorological phenomenon that has complicated sources. As such, the determination of whether surface moisture is the input water or only the redistribution of water in the soil–plant–atmosphere ecosystem is of great importance. In this study, δ18O and δD characteristic values of dew, guttation, and soil waters in Buxus sinica var. parvifolia M. Cheng were monitored during the frost-free period (June–September 2017) in Changchun, China, to differentiate the hydraulic relationship among atmospheric vapor, rainwater, soil, dew, and guttation waters and quantitatively distinguish the leaf surface moisture on the canopy and bottom of plants. The water vapor sources of the leaf surface moisture on plants' canopy and bottom were quantitatively verified in accordance with isotope fractionation and mass conservation principles. Results demonstrated that leaf surface moisture, atmospheric vapor, soil water, and dew were closely related. Leaf surface moisture was mainly the condensation of dew. The sources of canopy and bottom leaf surface moisture were basically the same. The proportions of canopy moisture from plant guttation, atmospheric vapor, and soil water were 2.4%–2.5%, 79.8%–92.4%, and 5.1%–17.8%, respectively. By comparison, the proportions of bottom leaf surface moisture were 0.6%–1.4%, 80.0%–93.0%, and 6.4%–18.6%, respectively. Leaf surface moisture is an important water input in urban systems. Moreover, the characteristic values of stable hydrogen and oxygen isotopes of urban dew are supplemented, and the transformation of atmospheric vapor, rainwater, and soil and dew waters is revealed. This paper examines the daily return series of four main indices, including Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SSE), Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index (SZSE), Shanghai Shenzhen 300 Index (SHSE-SZSE300), and CSI Smallcap 500 index (CSI500) in Chinese stock market from 2000 to 2018 by multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA). The series of the daily return of the indices exhibit significant multifractal properties on the whole time scale and SZSE has the highest multifractal properties among the four indices, indicating the lowest market efficiency. The multifractal properties of four indices are due to long-range correlation and fat-tail characteristics of the non-Gaussian probability density function, and these two factors have different effects on the multifractality of four indices. This paper aims to compare the multifractility degrees of the four indices in three sub-samples divided by the 2015 stock market crash and to discuss its effects on efficiency of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock market in each sub-sample. Meanwhile, we study the effect of the 2015 stock market crash on market efficiency from the statistical and fractal perspectives, which has theoretical and practical significance in the application of Effective Market Hypothesis (EMH) in China's stock market, and it thereby affects the healthy and sustainability of the market. The results also provide important implications for further study on the dynamic mechanism and efficiency in stock market and they are relevant to portfolio managers and policy makers in a number of ways to maintain the sustainable development of China's capital market and economy. Lanthanum sulfadiazine (LaSD) was synthesized from sulfadiazine and lanthanum nitrate using water as solvent under alkaline conditions, and was used as a novel rare earth thermal stabilizer to stabilize poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). The structure of LaSD was characterized by elemental analysis (EA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermo- gravimetric analysis (TGA). The influence of lanthanum sulfadiazine with calcium stearate (CaSt2) and epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO) on stabilizing PVC was studied by using the Congo red test, oven discoloration test, UV-vis spectroscopy and thermal decomposition kinetics. The results showed that the addition of LaSD as a thermal stabilizer can significantly improve the initial whiteness and long-term stability of PVC. In addition, the synergies between LaSD, ESBO, and CaSt2 can provide outstanding improvement in the long-term thermal stability of PVC. When the ratio of LaSD/ESBO/CaSt2 is 1.8/0.6/0.6, its thermal stability time is 2193 s which is the best state for stabilizing PVC. Furthermore, comparing the reaction energy (Ea) and the variations in the conjugate double bond concentration in PVC samples, the order of thermal stability of PVC was PVC/LaSD/ESBO/CaSt2 > PVC/LaSD/ESBO > PVC/LaSD. The thermal stability mechanism of LaSD on PVC was studied by the AgCl precipitation method and FTIR spectrum. Zinc orotate (ZnOr2), which is a new kind of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) stabilizer, is prepared in this work through the precipitation method, and its impact on the thermal stability of PVC is measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TG), Congo red test, and discoloration test. The results exhibit that the thermal stability of PVC is positively enhanced after the addition of ZnOr2. In contrast with a commercial thermal stabilizer, zinc stearate (ZnSt2), a noteworthy improvement was observed that ZnOr2 could postpone the "zinc burning" of PVC. This is principally ascribed to the Or anion in the structure of ZnOr2 being able to absorb the HCl released by PVC, and to supersede unstable chlorine atoms in the structure of PVC. In addition, blending ZnOr2 with calcium stearate (CaSt2) in diverse mass ratios can significantly accelerate the thermal stability of PVC. Optimum performance was achieved with a CaSt2:ZnOr2 ratio of 1.8:1.2. Moreover, an outstanding synergistic effect can be observed when CaSt2/ZnOr2 is coupled with other commercial auxiliary stabilizers. The initial color and long-term stability of PVC including CaSt2/ZnOr2 is significantly increased when pentaerythritol (PER) is added, while dibenzoylmethane (DBM) can only improve its long-term thermal stability. A series of mesocosm-scale horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetlands (HSSF-CWs) were established. In Experiment 1, four artificial aeration (AA) modes, including pre-aeration at 24 h before the input of influent water (PA), aeration at 6 h (6AA) and 12 h (12AA) after the input of influent water and non-aeration (NA), were tested to obtain an optimal aeration mode for chemical oxygen demand (CODCr) and nitrogen removal. The results showed that aeration after the input of influent water could improve the removal efficiencies of CODCr and ammonia-nitrogen (NH4⁺-N), but lead to an accumulation of nitrate-nitrogen (NO3−-N). The above observation demonstrated that a single aeration cannot create an ideal alternation of aerobic and anaerobic conditions for simultaneous nitrification and denitrification. Therefore, HSSF-CWs with intermittent aeration (IA), after the input of influent water and NA were established to evaluate the combined effects of IA and influent COD/N ratios on pollutant removal in Experiment 2. The HSSF-CW with IA exhibited a better performance in CODCr and nitrogen removal compared to HSSF-CW with NA. The highest removal percentages of CODCr (90.1%), NH4+-N (99.8%) and total nitrogen (TN, 99.5%) were achieved at a COD/N ratio of 9.3 in HSSF-CW with IA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper constructs a theoretical model to analyze the effect of macroprudential policies (MPPs) on bank risk-taking. We collect a data set of 231 commercial banks in China to empirically test whether macroprudential tools, including countercyclical capital buffers, reserve requirements, and caps on loan-to-value, can affect bank risk-taking behaviors by using the dynamic unbalanced panel system generalized method of moment (SYS-GMM). The results provide further evidence on the important role of MPPs in maintaining financial stability, which helps mitigate financial system vulnerabilities. Bank risk-taking will be decreased with the strengthening of macroprudential supervision, which greatly benefits the resilience and the sustainability of bank sector. Moreover, the credit cycle has a magnifying role on MPPs' effect on bank risk-taking. Reducing risks in bank loans requires a further slowing of credit growth, which is necessary to ensure sustainable growth in a bank system, or more ambitiously, to smooth financial booms and busts. Catalytic ozonation processes (COPs) are an emerging technology for wastewater treatments. NaZSM-5 zeolites in three different SiO2/Al2O3 ratios (31, 45, and 120) and their metallic oxides loaded samples were compared for COP of nitrobenzene solution. NaZSM-5(120) showed high total organic carbon (TOC) removals (70.2–74.0%) by adsorption relative to NaZSM-5(45) (0.4–0.6%) at various initial pH conditions. NaZSM-5(31) was obtained by NaOH treatment of NaZSM-5(45) and displayed 20.9–23.8% of TOC removals by adsorption. In COPs, the different ZSM-5 zeolites exhibited various TOC removals and different reaction pathways. COP-NaZSM-5(120) showed high TOC removals compared to COP-NaZSM-5(45) and COP-NaZSM-5(31). The repeated uses of zeolites in COPs were performed to understand the reaction pathways and contribution of adsorption versus ozonation (i.e., catalytic oxidation and/or direct ozonation). Both adsorption and direct ozonation in COP-NaZSM-5(120) contributed TOC removal for the first use, whereas direct ozonation and •OH mediated oxidation dominated the process for eight repeated uses. Direct ozonation and •OH-mediated oxidation controlled the COP-NaZSM-5(45) process for the first and eight repeated uses. Adsorption and direct ozonation governed the COP-NaZSM-5(31) process for the first use, whereas the direct ozonation dominated it for eight repeated uses. In COPs, NaZSM-5(120) and NaZSM-5(45) showed the catalytic activity, whereas NaZSM-5(31) displayed negligible catalytic activity. The high catalytic activity of NaZSM-5(120) may be due to more Si-O bonds on zeolite surfaces. The results revealed that loading of Mg oxide on ZSM-5 zeolites can increase catalytic activity in COPs. In this paper, we compared the transfection efficiency and cytotoxicity of methylglycol-chitosan (MG-CS) and diethylaminoethyl-chitosan (DEAE-CSI and DEAE-CSII with degrees of substitution of 1.2 and 0.57, respectively) to that of Lipofectamine (used as a reference transfection vector). MG-CS contains quaternary amines to improve DNA binding, whereas the DEAE-CS exhibits pH buffering capability that would ostensibly enhance transfection efficiency by promoting endosomal escape. Gel retardation assays showed that both DEAE-CS and MG-CS bound to DNA at a polysaccharide:DNA mass ratio of 2:1. In Calu-3 cells, the DNA transfection activity was significantly better with MG-CS than with DEAE-CS, and the efficiency improved with increasing polysaccharide:DNA ratios. By contrast, the efficiency of DEAE-CSI and DEAE-CSII was independent of the polysaccharide:DNA ratio. Conversely, in the transfection-recalcitrant JAWSII cells, both Lipofectamine and MG-CS showed significantly lower DNA transfection activity than in Calu-3 cells, whereas the efficiency of DEAE-CSI and DEAE-CSII was similar in both cell lines. The toxicity of DEAE-CS increased with increasing concentrations of the polymer and its degree of substitution, whereas MG-CS demonstrated negligible cytotoxicity, even at the highest concentration studied. High-intensity interval training (HIIT), a new type of exercise, can effectively prevent the progression of metabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of HIIT on liver inflammation and metabolic disorders in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD) combined with streptozotocin (STZ) and to explore the possible mechanisms of macrophage polarization and mitochondrial dynamics. Our results showed that HIIT can increase fatty acid oxidation-related gene (PPARα, CPT1α, and ACOX1) mRNA levels and decrease adipogenesis-related gene (PPARγ) mRNA levels to improve liver metabolism in T2DM mice. The improvement of lipid metabolism disorder may occur through increasing liver mitochondrial biosynthesis-related genes (PGC-1α and TFAM) and restoring mitochondrial dynamics-related gene (MFN2 and DRP1) mRNA levels. HIIT can also reduce the mRNA levels of liver inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-6, and MCP-1) in T2DM mice. The reduction in liver inflammation may occur through reducing the expression of total macrophage marker (F4/80) and M1 macrophage marker (CD86) mRNA and protein and increasing the expression of M2 macrophage marker (CD163, CD206, and Arg1) mRNA and protein in the liver. HIIT can also increase the expression of insulin signaling pathway (IRS1, PI3K, and AKT) mRNA and protein in the liver of T2DM mice, which may be related to the improvements in liver inflammation and lipid metabolism. In conclusion, these results suggested that 8 weeks of HIIT can improve inflammation and lipid metabolism disorders in the liver of type 2 diabetes mellitus mice, macrophage M1/M2 polarization, and mitochondrial dynamics may be involved in this process.

Intranasal delivery of DNA vaccines has become a popular research area recently. It offers some distinguished advantages over parenteral and other routes of vaccine administration. Nasal mucosa as site of vaccine administration can stimulate respiratory mucosal immunity by interacting with the nasopharyngeal-associated lymphoid tissues (NALT). Different kinds of DNA vaccines are investigated to provide protection against respiratory infectious diseases including tuberculosis, coronavirus, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) etc. DNA vaccines have several attractive development potential, such as producing cross-protection towards different virus subtypes, enabling the possibility of mass manufacture in a relatively short time and a better safety profile. The biggest obstacle to DNA vaccines is low immunogenicity. One of the approaches to enhance the efficacy of DNA vaccine is to improve DNA delivery efficiency. This review provides insight on the development of intranasal DNA vaccine for respiratory infections, with special attention paid to the strategies to improve the delivery of DNA vaccines using non-viral delivery agents.

Irregular precipitation associated with global climate change had been causing various problems in urban regions. Besides the runoff due to rainfall in summer, the snowmelt runoff in early spring could also play an important role in deteriorating the water quality of the receiving waters. Due to global climate change, the snowfall has increased gradually in individual regions, and snowstorms occur more frequently, which leads to an enhancement of snowmelt runoff flow during the melting seasons. What is more, rivers just awaking from freezing constitute a frail ecosystem, with poor self-purification capacity, however, the urban snowmelt runoff could carry diverse pollutants accumulated during the winter, such as coal and/or gas combustion products, snowmelting agents, automotive exhaust and so on, which seriously threaten the receiving water quality. Nevertheless, most of the research focused on the rainfall runoff in rainy seasons, and the study on snowmelt runoff is still a neglected field in many countries and regions. In conclusion, due to the considerable water quantity and the worrisome water quality, snowmelt runoff in urban regions with large impervious surface areas should be listed among the important targets in urban nonpoint source pollution management and control.
