Gout is one of the most painful diseases in the world. Accurate classification of gout is crucial for diagnosis and treatment which can potentially save lives. However, the current methods for classifying gout periods have demonstrated poor performance and have received little attention. This is due to a significant data imbalance problem that affects the learning attention for the majority and minority classes. To overcome this problem, a resampling method called ENaNSMOTE-Tomek link is proposed. It uses extended natural neighbors to generate samples that fall within the minority class and then applies the Tomek link technique to eliminate instances that contribute to noise. The model combines the ensemble 'bagging' technique with the proposed resampling technique to improve the quality of generated samples. The performance of individual classifiers and hybrid models on an imbalanced gout dataset taken from the electronic medical records of a hospital is evaluated. The results of the classification demonstrate that the proposed strategy is more accurate than some imbalanced gout diagnosis techniques, with an accuracy of 80.87% and an AUC of 87.10%. Over the past few decades, micro liquid dispensing technology has been widely used in biology, chemistry, material and environmental sciences due to its efficacy in processing multiple samples. For practical applications, precise and effective droplet generation is very important. Despite numerous droplet generation methods, the implementation of droplet-on-demand still faces challenges concerning system complexity, precision, cost, and robustness. In this work, a novel on-demand contacting droplet generation method incorporated with model-based feedback control with an image processing unit as a sensor was proposed. By studying droplet identification using image processing techniques, the model of droplet formation was simplified. Then model-based feedback control was implemented using volumes of dispensed samples as sensing signals by tuning related parameters adaptively to resist disturbances. The proposed method was integrated and applied to a homebuilt automated micro liquid dispensing system with droplets ranging from 20 nanoliter to 200 nanoliter. The experimental results demonstrated a high degree of accuracy and precision. Additionally, the proposed system's practical utility was evaluated by analyzing mutations in genes associated with sensorineural hearing loss, verifying its effectiveness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Myocardial infarction is a type of heart disease marked by rapid progression and high mortality. In this paper, a novel intelligent recognition algorithm of multiple myocardial infarctions using a bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) neural network classification was proposed. This algorithm was based on morphological feature extraction, which can greatly improve the diagnostic efficiency of doctors for different kinds of myocardial infarction diseases. The algorithm includes noise reduction and beat segmentation of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) database. According to the medical diagnosis guide, the distance feature of the whole waveform and the amplitude feature of the branch lead waveform are extracted. According to the extracted features, the long short-term memory network (LSTM) and the BiLSTM neural networks are built to classify and recognize heartbeats. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the morphological feature + BiLSTM algorithm in MI detection is 99.4%. At the same time, among the six common myocardial infarction diseases, the location and recognition rate of the culprit vessel is high. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, and F1 score parameters all reach more than 98.4%, and the kappa coefficient also reaches 0.983, while the overall accuracy reaches 98.6%. The accuracy of this algorithm is improved by at least 1% compared with that of other existing algorithms. Thus, this study exhibits a very important clinical application value. This paper proposes and implements a lightweight, "real-time" localization system (SORLA) with artificial landmarks (reflectors), which only uses LiDAR data for the laser odometer compensation in the case of high-speed or sharp-turning. Theoretically, due to the feature-matching mechanism of the LiDAR, locations of multiple reflectors and the reflector layout are not limited by geometrical relation. A series of algorithms is implemented to find and track the features of the environment, such as the reflector localization method, the motion compensation technique, and the reflector matching optimization algorithm. The reflector extraction algorithm is used to identify the reflector candidates and estimates the precise center locations of the reflectors from 2D LiDAR data. The motion compensation algorithm predicts the potential velocity, location, and angle of the robot without odometer errors. Finally, the matching optimization algorithm searches the reflector combinations for the best matching score, which ensures that the correct reflector combination could be found during the high-speed movement and fast turning. All those mechanisms guarantee the algorithm's precision and robustness in the high speed and noisy background. Our experimental results show that the SORLA algorithm has an average localization error of 6.45 mm at a speed of 0.4 m/s, and 9.87 mm at 4.2 m/s, and still works well with the angular velocity of 1.4 rad/s at a sharp turn. The recovery mechanism in the algorithm could handle the failure cases of reflector occlusion, and the long-term stability test of 72 h firmly proves the algorithm's robustness. This work shows that the strategy used in the SORLA algorithm is feasible for industry-level navigation with high precision and a promising alternative solution for SLAM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
