Driven by strong winds, huge ocean waves can cause devastating destruction to coastal regions during harsh weather events. There is growing evidence showing that extreme waves can occur in both shallow and deep waters. To protect the coast against the destructive power of huge waves, coastal protection facilities, such as seawalls, are often built along the coast. The integrity and stability of these coastal protection facilities are essential to the safety of coastal regions. Since huge waves are often accompanied by strong winds in real ocean environments, to fill the knowledge gap left by previous relevant studies, this study numerically investigates the hydrodynamic loads and overtopping of a coastal seawall model on a sloped beach under the coupled impact of an extreme wave group and wind. The influences of several main factors are considered, such as water depth, wind speed, and significant wave height. The research results reveal that strong wind can greatly increase the average overtopping rate and enhance the hydrodynamic loads exerted by the extreme wave group on the seawall. Background Malnutrition is a common and critical problem that influences outcome in cancer patients. Body composition reflects a patient's metabolic profile and physiologic reserves, which might be the true determinant of prognosis. In the present study, which aimed to identify valuable new prognostic indicators, we investigated the association between computed tomography--quantified body composition and short-term outcomes after gastrectomy for gastric cancer. Methods Skeletal muscle index, mean muscle attenuation, and ratio of visceral-to-subcutaneous adipose tissue area (VSR) were calculated from preoperative computed tomography images. Low skeletal muscle index, low mean muscle attenuation, and high vsr were respectively termed "sarcopenia," "myosteatosis," and "visceral obesity." The association of body composition with postoperative complications and serum markers of nutrition and inflammation after radical gastrectomy were analyzed. Results The overall complication rate was significantly higher in the sarcopenia (62.5% vs. 27.3%, p = 0.001) and myosteatosis groups (38.2% vs. 4%, p = 0.002). Patients with visceral obesity had a higher incidence of inflammatory complications (20.3% vs. 6.5%, p = 0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that sarcopenia (p = 0.013), myosteatosis (p = 0.017), and low serum retinol-binding protein (p = 0.019) were independent risk factors for overall complications. Compared with control subjects, patients with sarcopenia had lower postoperative levels of serum retinol-binding protein (p = 0.007), and patients with visceral obesity had higher levels of C-reactive protein (p = 0.026). Conclusions Sarcopenia, myosteatosis, and visceral obesity were significantly associated with increased rates of postoperative complications and affected the postoperative nutrition and inflammation status of patients with gastric cancer. Background Two ongoing prospective randomized trials are evaluating whether omitting axillary lymph node dissection (alnd) in patients with breast cancer (bca) and sentinel lymph node (sln) macrometastases undergoing mastectomy is safe. Determining predictive risk factors for non-sln metastases and developing a model to predict the probability of those patients having non-sln metastases is also important. Methods This retrospective study enrolled 396 patients with bca and 1-2 slns with macrometastases who underwent alnd and mastectomy between January 2012 and December 2016. Factors influencing the non-sln metastases were determined, and a predictive nomogram was formulated. Performance of the nomogram was evaluated by its area under the curve (auc). Results We developed a predictive nomogram with an auc of 0.81 (cross-validation 95% confidence interval: 0.75 to 0.86) that included 4 factors (tumour size, histologic grade, and number of negative slns and axillary lymph nodes on imaging). Conclusions Our predictive nomogram assesses the risk of non-sln metastases in patients with bca and 1-2 sln macrometastases undergoing mastectomy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nowadays, metamaterial absorbers still suffer from limited bandwidth, poor bandwidth scalability, and insufficient modulation depth. In order to solve this series of problems, we propose a metamaterial absorber based on graphene, VO 2 , gallium silver sulfide, and gold-silver alloy composites with dual-control modulation of temperature and electric field. Then we further investigate the optical switching performance of this absorber in this work. Our proposed metamaterial absorber has the advantages of broad absorption bandwidth, sufficient modulation depth, and good bandwidth scalability all together. Unlike the single inspired layer of previous designs, we innovatively adopted a multi-layer excitation structure, which can realize the purpose of absorption and bandwidth width regulation by a variety of means. Combined with the finite element analysis method, our proposed metamaterial absorber has excellent bandwidth scalability, which can be tuned from 2.7 THz bandwidth to 12.1 THz bandwidth by external electrothermal excitation. Meanwhile, the metamaterial absorber can also dynamically modulate the absorption from 3.8% to 99.8% at a wide incidence angle over the entire range of polarization angles, suggesting important potential applications in the field of optical switching in the terahertz range.

Considering the dilemma of obtaining economic and high-performance composites based on non-polar and main-chain-saturated ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM), we proposed an effective and universal filler modification and nanocomposite preparation method. Specifically, the montmorillonite (MMT) surface was coated with polydopamine (PDA) to obtain DMMT, which was confirmed by XRD, XPS, FTIR, and TGA. After compounding DMMT gel with the solid EPDM via the gel compounding method, a silane coupling agent, vinyltrimethoxysilane, was introduced to construct covalent interactions between rubber and filler. Compared with the unmodified MMT filler EPDM, the EPDM/DMMT nanocomposite showed much fewer filler aggregates in the matrix. The highest tensile strength of the composites reached 6.5 MPa with 10 phr DMMT, almost 200% higher than that of pure EPDM.

Maize is a significant food and feed product, and abiotic stress significantly impacts its growth and development. Arabidopsis Toxicosa en Levadura ( ATL ), a member of the RING-H2 E3 subfamily, modulates various physiological processes and stress responses in Arabidopsis . However, the role of ATL in maize remains unexplored. In this study, we systematically identified the genes encoding ATL in the maize genome. The results showed that the maize ATL family consists of 77 members, all predicted to be located in the cell membrane and cytoplasm, with a highly conserved RING domain. Tissue-specific expression analysis revealed that the expression levels of ATL family genes were significantly different in different tissues. Examination of the abiotic stress data revealed that the expression levels of ATL genes fluctuated significantly under different stress conditions. To further understand the biological functions of maize ATL family genes under high-temperature stress, we studied the high-temperature phenotypes of the maize ZmATL family gene ZmATL10 and its homologous gene AtATL27 in Arabidopsis . The results showed that overexpression of the ZmATL10 and AtATL27 genes enhanced resistance to high-temperature stress.

LiDAR sensors have been shown to generate data with various common corruptions, which seriously affect their applications in 3D vision tasks, particularly object detection. At the same time, it has been demonstrated that traditional defense strategies, including adversarial training, are prone to suffering from gradient confusion during training. Moreover, they can only improve their robustness against specific types of data corruption. In this work, we propose LiDARPure, which leverages the powerful generation ability of diffusion models to purify corruption in the LiDAR scene data. By dividing the entire scene into voxels to facilitate the processes of diffusion and reverse diffusion, LiDARPure overcomes challenges induced from adversarial training, such as sparse point clouds in large-scale LiDAR data and gradient confusion. In addition, we utilize the latent geometric features of a scene as a condition to assist the generation of diffusion models. Detailed experiments show that LiDARPure can effectively purify 19 common types of LiDAR data corruption. Further evaluation results demonstrate that it can improve the average precision of 3D object detectors to an extent of 20% in the face of data corruption, much higher than existing defence strategies.

Consumer perception of beef is heavily influenced by overall meat quality, a critical factor in the cattle industry. Genomics has the potential to improve important beef quality traits and identify genetic markers and causal variants associated with these traits through genomic selection (GS) and genome-wide association studies (GWAS) approaches. Transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics provide insights into underlying genetic mechanisms by identifying differentially expressed genes, proteins, and metabolic pathways linked to quality traits, complementing GWAS data. Leveraging these functional genomics techniques can optimize beef cattle breeding for enhanced quality traits to meet high-quality beef demand. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of applications of omics technologies in uncovering functional variants underlying beef quality complexities. By highlighting the latest findings from GWAS, GS, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies, this work seeks to serve as a valuable resource for fostering a deeper understanding of the complex relationships between genetics, gene expression, protein dynamics, and metabolic pathways in shaping beef quality.

Salmonella Typhimurium ( S. Typhimurium) contamination poses a significant challenge to breeder egg hatchability and chick health, necessitating the exploration of alternative disinfection methods. This study investigates the potential of phage vB_SPuM_SP02 (SP02) as a novel disinfectant for breeder eggs contaminated with S. Typhimurium SM022. Phage SP02 was isolated from poultry farm effluent and characterized for morphology, biological properties, and genome properties. Experimental groups of specific pathogen-free (SPF) eggs were treated with Salmonella and phage SP02, and efficacy was assessed through hatching rates, chick survival, weight, Salmonella load, immune organ indices, and intestinal flora. Phage treatment effectively eradicated Salmonella contamination on eggshells within 12 h, resulting in increased hatching and survival rates compared to controls. Furthermore, phage treatment mitigated weight loss and tissue Salmonella load in chicks without causing immune organ damage while reducing Salmonella spp. abundance in the intestinal tract. This study demonstrates the potential of phage SP02 as an eco-friendly and efficient disinfectant for S . Typhimurium-contaminated breeder eggs, offering promising prospects for practical application in poultry production.

Licorice ( Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch), a significant traditional Chinese herbal medicine, has been extensively utilized in China to treat various ailments. Natural bioactive coumarins, glycycoumarin, glycyrin, and 3- O -methylglycyrol, were isolated from licorice, and they exhibited various pharmacological properties. In this report, we have accomplished the total synthesis of glycycoumarin, glycyrin, and 3- O -methylglycyrol in 5-7 linear steps from commercially available 2,4,6-trihydroxybenzaldehyde with yields of 12.3-21.2%. Additionally, their anti-inflammatory activities were studied and compared. Glycycoumarin, glycyrin, and 3- O -methylglycyrol exhibited different levels of anti-inflammatory activities, with glycyrin being the most potent. Mechanistic studies indicated that glycyrin exerted its anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the activation of TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β, making it a potential anti-inflammatory lead compound for further optimization and discovery of new agents.

The diagnosis of faults in wind turbine gearboxes based on signal processing represents a significant area of research within the field of wind power generation. This paper presents an intelligent fault diagnosis method based on ensemble-refined composite multiscale fluctuation-based reverse dispersion entropy (ERCMFRDE) for a wind turbine gearbox vibration signal that is nonstationary and nonlinear and for noise problems. Firstly, improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (ICEEMDAN) and stationary wavelet transform (SWT) are adopted for signal decomposition, noise reduction, and restructuring of gearbox signals. Secondly, we extend the single coarse-graining processing method of refined composite multiscale fluctuation-based reverse dispersion entropy (RCMFRDE) to the multiorder moment coarse-grained processing method, extracting mixed fault feature sets for denoised signals. Finally, the diagnostic results are obtained based on the least squares support vector machine (LSSVM). The dataset collected during the gearbox fault simulation on the experimental platform is employed as the research object, and the experiments are conducted using the method proposed in this paper. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective and reliable approach for accurately diagnosing gearbox faults, exhibiting high diagnostic accuracy and a robust performance.

The use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) in natural killer (NK) cells for cancer therapy is gaining momentum, marking a significant shift in cancer treatment. This review aims to explore the potential of CAR-NK cell therapy in cancer immunotherapy, providing a fresh perspective. It discusses the innovative approaches in CAR-NK cell design and engineering, particularly targeting refractory or recurrent cancers. By comparing CAR-NK cells with traditional therapies, the review highlights their unique ability to tackle tumor heterogeneity and immune system suppression. Additionally, it explains how novel cytokines and receptors can enhance CAR-NK cell efficacy, specificity, and functionality. This review underscores the advantages of CAR-NK cells, including reduced toxicity, lower cost, and broader accessibility compared to CAR-T cells, along with their potential in treating both blood cancers and solid tumors.

A passively Q-switched Er:YAP laser of 2.7 µm, utilizing Au-doped CsPbI 3 quantum dots (QDs) as a saturable absorber (SA), was realized. It was operated stably with a minimum pulse width of 185 ns and a maximum repetition rate of 480 kHz. The maximum pulse energy and the maximum peak power were 0.6 μJ and 2.9 W, respectively, in the Q-switched operation. The results show that the CsPbI 3 QDs SA exhibits remarkable laser modulation properties at ~3 μm.

This paper presents a study of the flammability and thermal decomposition products of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy resin (GFRER) with the addition of cardanol-based phosphorus-containing benzoxazine monomer (CBz) and graphene and their combinations in different proportions (up to 20 wt.%). The addition of CBz alone or in combination with graphene resulted in an increase in the limiting oxygen index (LOI) and self-extinguishing in the UL-94 HB test. The flame-retardant samples had better tensile mechanical properties than the sample without additives. The differential mass-spectrometric thermal analysis (DMSTA) of the thermal decomposition products of GFRER without additives and with the addition of CBz and graphene was carried out. CBz addition promoted the thermal decomposition of high-molecular-weight products of epoxy resin decomposition in the condensed phase and at the same time decreased the time of release of low-molecular-weight thermal decomposition products into the gas phase. Graphene addition resulted in an increase in the relative intensities of high-molecular-mass peaks compared to GFRER without additives.

As of 31 October 2023, there have been 771,795,258 confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally. Developing simple, portable, and reliable testing devices has become increasingly important. This paper presents a point-of-care testing (POCT) device for COVID-19 based on the dual-excitation fluorescence RT-LAMP method, which is derived from the principles of RT-LAMP-based COVID-19 detection kits available in the market. The key design solutions of the device were simulated and modeled. Key performance metrics such as detection repeatability and linearity were validated. Comparative experiments with the RT-qPCR detection method were conducted to verify the accuracy and reliability of the device. Additionally, the device's detection sensitivity and accuracy were assessed. Experimental results show that the repeatability coefficient of variation (CV) value is ≤0.09%; the linearity R 2 for the FAM channel is 0.9977 and that for the HEX channel is 0.9899; it exhibits good anti-interference performance, with negligible cross-channel interference; the temperature stability is ±0.062 °C, the temperature accuracy is less than 0.2 °C, and there is no significant temperature overshoot during the heating process. Compared with the real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) instrument, the positive agreement rate is 100% and the negative agreement rate is 95.0%. This research provides a foundational basis for the development of equipment for the prevention of infectious diseases and clinical diagnostics.

A functionalized ethylene-vinyl-alcohol (EVOH) nanofibrous membrane (NFM) was fabricated via co-electrospinning H 4 SiW 12 O 40 (SiW 12 ) and EVOH first, and then grafting citric acid (CCA) on the electrospun SiW 12 @EVOH NFM. Characterization with FT-IR, EDX, and XPS confirmed that CCA was introduced to the surface of SiW 12 @EVOH NFM and the Keggin structure of SiW 12 was maintained well in the composite fibers. Due to a number of carboxyl groups introduced by CCA, the as-prepared SiW 12 @EVOH-CCA NFM can form a high number of hydrogen bonds with CR, and thus can be used to selectively absorb congo red (CR) in aqueous solutions. More importantly, the CR enriched in the NFM can be rapidly degraded via photocatalysis. SiW 12 in the NFM acted as a photocatalyst, and the hydroxyl groups in the NFM acted as an electron donor to accelerate the photodegradation rate of CR. Meanwhile, the SiW 12 @EVOH-CCA NFM was regenerated and then exhibited a relatively stable adsorption capacity in five cycles of filtration-regeneration. The bifunctional nanofibrous membrane filter showed potential for use in the thorough purification of dye wastewater.

The incidence of liver diseases is high worldwide. Many factors can cause liver fibrosis, which in turn can lead to liver cirrhosis and even liver cancer. Due to the shortage of donor organs, immunosuppression, and other factors, only a few patients are able to undergo liver transplantation. Therefore, how to construct a bioartificial liver that can be transplanted has become a global research hotspot. With the rapid development of three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, researchers have tried to use various 3D bioprinting technologies to construct bioartificial livers in vitro. In terms of the choice of bioinks, liver decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) has many advantages over other materials for cell-laden hydrogel in 3D bioprinting. This review mainly summarizes the acquisition of liver dECM and its application in liver 3D bioprinting as a bioink with respect to availability, printability, and biocompatibility in many aspects and puts forward the current challenges and prospects.

Polymer matrix solid buoyancy materials (PSBMs) have the advantages of low density, high strength, low cost, and low water absorption, and they are widely used in marine engineering fields. How to improve the performance of PSBMs further and adapt them to harsh marine environments has become a hot topic in current research. This paper provides a comprehensive summary of PSBM, detailing both the preparation methodologies and properties of single-component and multi-component PSBM. In this paper, relevant research is systematically summarized from two dimensions of matrix and filler, and the application of thermosetting resin and thermoplastic resin as a matrix in PSBM is introduced in detail, and the corresponding research on fillers such as hollow glass microspheres, fly ash, hollow ceramic spheres and hollow polymer microspheres are expounded. This paper aims to summarize the latest advancements in PSBM research, thereby providing insights into the current state of the field and guiding future investigations.

The potential applications of stretchable strain sensors in wearable electronics have garnered significant attention. However, developing susceptible stretchable strain sensors for practical applications still poses a considerable challenge. The present study introduces a stretchable strain sensor that utilizes silver nanowires (AgNWs) embedded into a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate. The AgNWs have high flexibility and electrical conductivity. A stretchable AgNW/Pat-PDMS conductive film was prepared by arranging nanowires on the surface of PDMS using a simple rod coating method. Depending on the orientation angle, the overlap area between nanowires varies, resulting in different levels of separation under a given strain. Due to the separation of the nanowire and the change in current path geometry, the variation in strain resistance of the sensor can be primarily attributed to these factors. Therefore, precision in strain regulation can be adjusted by altering the angle θ (0°, 60°, or 90°) of the nanowire. At the same time, the stability of the AgNW/Pattern-PDMS (AgNW/Pat-PDMS) conductive film application was verified by preparing a sandwich structure PDMS/AgNW/Pat-PDMS stretchable strain sensor. The sensor exhibited high sensitivity within the operating sensing range (gauge factor (GF) of 15 within ~120% strain), superior durability (20,000 bending cycles and 5000 stretching cycles), and excellent response toward bending.

Effectively utilizing deep red to near-infrared (DR-NIR) phosphors to achieve the optimal performance of NIR phosphor-converted white LEDs (DR-NIR pc-wLEDs) is currently a research hotspot. In this study, an optical model of DR-NIR pc-wLEDs with virtual multilayer fluorescent films was established based on the Monte Carlo ray-tracing method. Different gradient distributions of the particles were assigned within the fluorescent film to explore their impact on the optical performance of pc-LEDs. The results show that, for the case with single-type particles, distributing more DR-NIR particles far from the blue LED chip increased the overall radiant power. The distribution of more DR-NIR particles near the chip increased the conversion ratio from blue to DR-NIR light. The ratio of the 707 nm fluorescence emission intensity to the 450 nm excitation light intensity increased from 1:0.51 to 1:0.28. For multiple-type particles, changes in the gradient distribution resulted in dual-nature changes, leading to a deterioration in the color rendering index and an increase in the correlated color temperature, while also improving the DR-NIR band ratio. The reabsorption caused by the partial overlap between the excitation band of the DR-NIR particles and the emission band of the other particles enhanced the radiant power at 707 nm. Distributing DR-NIR phosphor particles closer to the chip effectively amplified this effect. The proposed model and its results provide a solution for the forward design of particle distributions in fluorescent films to improve the luminous performance of DR-NIR pc-wLEDs.

Tetracycline (TC) contamination in water is one of the key issues in global environmental protection, and traditional water treatment methods are difficult to remove antibiotic pollutants.Therefore, efficient and environmentally friendly treatment technologies are urgently needed. In this study, activated persulfate (PS) using a biochar-loaded nano zero-valent iron (BC-nZVI) advanced oxidation system was used to investigate the degradation effect, influencing factors, and mechanism of TC. BC-nZVI was prepared using the liquid-phase reduction method, and its structure and properties were analyzed by various characterization means. The results showed that nZVI was uniformly distributed on the surface or in the pores of BC, forming a stable complex. Degradation experiments showed that the BC-nZVI/PS system could degrade TC up to 99.57% under optimal conditions. The experiments under different conditions revealed that the iron-carbon ratio, dosing amount, PS concentration, and pH value all affected the degradation efficiency. Free radical burst and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) experiments confirmed the dominant roles of hydroxyl and sulfate radicals in the degradation process, and LC-MS experiments revealed the multi-step reaction process of TC degradation. This study provides a scientific basis for the efficient treatment of TC pollution in water.

The conservation biology field underscores the importance of understanding genetic diversity and gene flow within plant populations and the factors that influence them. This study employs Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) molecular markers to investigate the genetic diversity of the endangered plant species Saussurea involucrata , offering a theoretical foundation for its conservation efforts. Utilizing sequencing results to screen SSR loci, we designed and scrutinized 18 polymorphic microsatellite primers across 112 samples from 11 populations in the Bayinbuluke region. Our findings reveal high genetic diversity (I = 0.837, He = 0.470) and substantial gene flow (Nm = 1.390) among S. involucrata populations (China, Xinjiang), potentially attributed to efficient pollen and seed dispersal mechanisms. Principal Coordinate Analysis (PCoA) indicates a lack of distinct genetic structuring within the Bayinbuluke populations. The cluster analysis using STRUCTURE reflected the genetic structure of S. involucrata to a certain extent compared with PCoA. The results showed that all samples were divided into four groups. To safeguard this species, we advocate for the in situ conservation of all S. involucrata populations in the area. The SSR markers developed in this study provide a valuable resource for future genetic research on S. involucrata .

(1) Background: Laizhou Bay is an important aquaculture area in the north of China. Oplegnathus punctatus is one of the species with high economic benefits. In recent years, the water environment of Laizhou Bay has reached a mild eutrophication level, while microorganisms are an important group between the environment and species. In this study, we evaluated alterations in environmental elements, microbial populations, and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) along with their interconnections during Oplegnathus punctatus net culture. (2) Methods: A total of 142 samples from various water layers were gathered for metagenome assembly analysis. Mariculture increases the abundance of microorganisms in this culture area and makes the microbial community structure more complex. The change had more significant effects on sediment than on seawater. (3) Results: Certain populations of cyanobacteria and Candidatus Micrarchaecta in seawater, and Actinobacteria and Thaumarchaeota in sediments showed high abundance in the mariculture area. Antibiotic resistance genes in sediments were more sensitive to various environmental factors, especially oxygen solubility and salinity. (4) Conclusions: These findings highlight the complex and dynamic nature of microorganism-environment-ARG interactions, characterized by regional specificity and providing insights for a more rational use of marine resources.

Chronic stress has become a major problem that endangers people's physical and mental health. Studies have shown that chronic stress impairs female reproduction. However, the related mechanism is not fully understood. P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) is involved in a variety of pathological changes induced by chronic stress. Whether P2X7R is involved in the effect of chronic stress on female reproduction has not been studied. In this study, we established a chronic restraint stress mouse model and chronic cold stress mouse model. We found that the number of corpora lutea was significantly reduced in the two chronic stress models. The number of corpora lutea indirectly reflects the ovulation, suggesting that chronic stress influences ovulation. P2X7R expression was significantly increased in ovaries of the two chronic stress models. A superovulation experiment showed that P2X7R inhibitor A-438079 HCL partially rescued the ovulation rate of the two chronic stress models. Further studies showed that activation of P2X7R signaling inhibited the cumulus expansion and promoted the expression of NPPC in granulosa cells, one key negative factor of cumulus expansion. Moreover, sirius red staining showed that the ovarian fibrosis was increased in the two chronic stress models. For the fibrosis-related factors, TGF-β1 was increased and MMP2 was decreased. In vitro studies also showed that activation of P2X7R signaling upregulated the expression of TGF-β1 and downregulated the expression of MMP2 in granulosa cells. In conclusion, P2X7R expression was increased in the ovaries of the chronic restraint-stress and chronic cold-stress mouse models. Activation of P2X7R signaling promoted NPPC expression and cumulus expansion disorder, which contributed to the abnormal ovulation of the chronic stress model. Activation of P2X7R signaling is also associated with the ovarian fibrosis changes in the chronic stress model.

In order to address the 'capacity crisis' caused by the narrow bandwidth of the current C band and the demand for wide-spectrum sensing sources and tunable fiber lasers, a broadband luminescence covering the C + L bands using Er 3+ /Yb 3+ co-doped fluorotellurite glass fiber is investigated in this paper. The optimal doping concentrations in the glass host were determined based on the intensity, lifetime, and full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the fluorescence centered at 1.5 µm, which were found to be 1.5 mol% Er 2 O 3 and 3 mol% Yb 2 O 3 . We also systematically investigated this in terms of optical absorption spectra, absorption and emission cross-sections, gain coefficients, Judd-Ofelt parameters, and up-conversion fluorescence. The energy transfer (ET) mechanism between the high concentrations of Er 3+ and Yb 3+ was summarized. In addition, a step-indexed fiber was prepared based on these fluorotellurite glasses, and a wide bandwidth of ~112.5 nm (covering the C + L bands from 1505.1 to 1617.6 nm) at 3 dB for the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) spectra has been observed at a fiber length of 0.57 m, which is the widest bandwidth among all the reports based on tellurite glass. Therefore, this kind of Er 3+ /Yb 3+ co-doped fluorotellurite glass fiber has great potential for developing broadband C + L band amplifiers, ultra-wide fiber sources for sensing, and tunable fiber lasers.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are prevalent knee injures, particularly among active individuals. Accurate and timely diagnosis is essential for determining the optimal treatment strategy and assessing patient prognosis. Various previous studies have demonstrated the successful application of deep learning techniques in the field of medical image analysis. This study aimed to develop a deep learning model for detecting ACL tears in knee magnetic resonance Imaging (MRI) to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. The proposed model consists of three main modules: a Dual-Scale Data Augmentation module (DDA) to enrich the training data on both the spatial and layer scales; a selective group attention module (SG) to capture relationships across the layer, channel, and space scales; and a fusion module to explore the inter-relationships among various perspectives to achieve the final classification. To ensure a fair comparison, the study utilized a public dataset from MRNet, comprising knee MRI scans from 1250 exams, with a focus on three distinct views: axial, coronal, and sagittal. The experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed model, termed SGNET, in ACL tear detection compared with other comparison models, achieving an accuracy of 0.9250, a sensitivity of 0.9259, a specificity of 0.9242, and an AUC of 0.9747.

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a plant disease caused by various species of the Fusarium fungus. One of the major concerns associated with Fusarium spp. is their ability to produce mycotoxins. Mycotoxin contamination in small grain cereals is a risk to human and animal health and leads to major economic losses. A reliable site-specific precise Fusarium spp. infection early warning model is, therefore, needed to ensure food and feed safety by the early detection of contamination hotspots, enabling effective and efficient fungicide applications, and providing FHB prevention management advice. Such precision farming techniques contribute to environmentally friendly production and sustainable agriculture. This study developed a predictive model, Sága, for on-site FHB detection in wheat using imaging spectroscopy and deep learning. Data were collected from an experimental field in 2021 including (1) an experimental field inoculated with Fusarium spp. (52.5 m × 3 m) and (2) a control field (52.5 m × 3 m) not inoculated with Fusarium spp. and sprayed with fungicides. Imaging spectroscopy data (hyperspectral images) were collected from both the experimental and control fields with the ground truth of Fusarium -infected ear and healthy ear, respectively. Deep learning approaches (pretrained YOLOv5 and DeepMAC on Global Wheat Head Detection (GWHD) dataset) were used to segment wheat ears and XGBoost was used to analyze the hyperspectral information related to the wheat ears and make predictions of Fusarium -infected wheat ear and healthy wheat ear. The results showed that deep learning methods can automatically detect and segment the ears of wheat by applying pretrained models. The predictive model can accurately detect infected areas in a wheat field, achieving mean accuracy and F1 scores exceeding 89%. The proposed model, Sága, could facilitate the early detection of Fusarium spp. to increase the fungicide use efficiency and limit mycotoxin contamination.

Outcomes are poor in patients with advanced or relapsed Ewing sarcoma (EWS) and current treatments have significant short- and long-term side effects. New, less toxic and more effective treatments are urgently needed. MER proto-oncogene tyrosine kinase (MERTK) promotes tumor cell survival, metastasis, and resistance to cytotoxic and targeted therapies in a variety of cancers. MERTK was ubiquitously expressed in five EWS cell lines and five patient samples. Moreover, data from CRISPR-based library screens indicated that EWS cell lines are particularly dependent on MERTK. Treatment with MRX-2843, a first-in-class, MERTK-selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor currently in clinical trials, decreased the phosphorylation of MERTK and downstream signaling in a dose-dependent manner in A673 and TC106 cells and provided potent anti-tumor activity against all five EWS cell lines, with IC 50 values ranging from 178 to 297 nM. Inhibition of MERTK correlated with anti-tumor activity, suggesting MERTK inhibition as a therapeutic mechanism of MRX-2843. Combined treatment with MRX-2843 and BCL-2 inhibitors venetoclax or navitoclax provided enhanced therapeutic activity compared to single agents. These data highlight MERTK as a promising therapeutic target in EWS and provide rationale for the development of MRX-2843 for the treatment of EWS, especially in combination with BCL-2 inhibitors.

Background: Periplocae Cortex (PC), Acanthopanacis Cortex (AC), and Lycii Cortex (LC), as traditional Chinese medicines, are all dried root bark, presented in a roll, light and brittle, easy to break, have a fragrant scent, etc. Due to their similar appearances, it is tough to distinguish them, and they are often confused and adulterated in markets and clinical applications. To realize the identification and quality control of three herbs, in this paper, Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Quadrupole Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry Expression (UHPLC-QTOF-MS E ) combined with chemometric analysis was used to explore the different chemical compositions. Methods: LC, AC, and PC were analyzed by UHPLC-QTOF-MS E , and the quantized MS data combined with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) were used to explore the different chemical compositions with Variable Importance Projection (VIP) > 1.0. Further, the different chemical compositions were identified according to the chemical standard substances, related literature, and databases. Results: AC, PC, and LC can be obviously distinguished in PCA and PLS-DA analysis with the VIP of 2661 ions > 1.0. We preliminarily identified 17 differential chemical constituents in AC, PC, and LC with significant differences ( p < 0.01) and VIP > 1.0; for example, Lycium B and Periploside H2 are LC and PC's proprietary ingredients, respectively, and 2-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde, Periplocoside C, and 3,5-Di-O-caffeoylquinic acid are the shared components of the three herbs. Conclusions: UHPLC-QTOF-MS E combined with chemometric analysis is conducive to exploring the differential chemical compositions of three herbs. Moreover, the proprietary ingredients, Lycium B (LC) and Periploside H2 (PC), are beneficial in strengthening the quality control of AC, PC, and LC. In addition, limits on the content of shared components can be set to enhance the quality control of LC, PC, and AC.

The Ylistrum japonicum is a commercially valuable scallop known for its long-distance swimming abilities. Despite its economic importance, genetic and genomic research on this species is limited. This study presents the first complete mitochondrial genome of Y . japonicum . The mitochondrial genome is 19,475 bp long and encompasses 13 protein-coding genes, three ribosomal RNA genes, and 23 transfer RNA genes. Two distinct phylogenetic analyses were used to explore the phylogenetic position of the Y . japonicum within the family Pectinidae. Based on one mitochondrial phylogenetic analysis by selecting 15 Pectinidae species and additional outgroup taxa and one single gene phylogenetic analysis by 16S rRNA, two phylogenetic trees were constructed to provide clearer insights into the evolutionary placement of Y . japonicum within the family Pectinidae. Our analysis reveals that Ylistrum is a basal lineage to the Pectininae clade, distinct from its previously assigned tribe, Amusiini. This study offers critical insights into the genetic makeup and evolutionary history of Y . japonicum , enhancing our knowledge of this economically vital species.

The complete mitochondrial genome has been extensively utilized in studies related to phylogenetics, offering valuable perspectives on evolutionary relationships. The mitochondrial genome of the fine-eyed plateau loach, Triplophysa microphthalma , has not attracted much attention, although this species is endemic to China. In this study, we characterized the mitochondrial genome of T. microphthalma and reassessed the classification status of its genus. The complete mitochondrial genome of T. microphthalma was 16,591 bp and contained thirty-seven genes, including thirteen protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and twenty-two transfer RNA genes (tRNAs). All but one of the thirteen PCGs had the regular start codon ATG; the gene cox1 started with GTG. Six PCGs had incomplete stop codons (T--). These thirteen PCGs are thought to have evolved under purifying selection, and the mitogenome shared a high degree of similarity with the genomes of species within the genus Leptobotia . All tRNA genes exhibited the standard clover-shaped structure, with the exception of the trnS1 gene, which lacked a DHU stem. A phylogenetic analysis indicated that T. microphthalma was more closely related to species within the genus Triplophysa than to those in Barbatula . The present study contributes valuable genomic information for T. microphthalma , and offers new perspectives on the phylogenetic relationships among species of Triplophysa and Barbatula . The findings also provide essential data that can inform the management and conservation strategies for T. microphthalma and other species of Triplophysa and Barbatula .

Allergies are one of the diseases whose incidence rates have increased in recent years due to the greenhouse effect and extreme climate change. Therefore, the development of new antiallergic drugs has attracted the interest of researchers in chemistry and pharmacy fields. Dicoumarin is a coumarin derivative with various biological activities, but its antiallergic activity has not been evaluated. In this study, 14 different dicoumarin derivatives were synthesized by diethylamine-catalyzed condensation reactions of 4-hydroxycoumarin with 14 different aldehydes, and they were identified on the basis of their spectral data. The dicoumarin derivatives were subjected to studies on the degranulation of rat basophilic leukemia cells (RBL-2H3 cells) and mouse bone-marrow-derived mast cells (mBMMCs), and some of them showed good inhibitory effects on the degranulation of the two types of mast cells, demonstrating their good antiallergic activity. This study presents a new method of developing new antiallergic drugs.

Longitudinal corrugated tubes (LCTs) exhibit stable platform force under axial compression but have low specific energy absorption. Conversely, circumferential corrugated tubes (CCTs) offer higher specific energy absorption but with unstable platform force. To overcome these limitations, this paper introduces a novel bi-directional corrugated tube (BCT) that amalgamates the strengths of both the CCT and LCT while mitigating their weaknesses. The BCT is formed by rolling a bi-directional corrugated structure into a circular tubular form. Numerical simulations of the BCT closely align with experimental results. The study further examines the influence of discrete parameters on the BCT's performance through simulations and identifies the tube's optimal design using the integral entropy TOPSIS method. A full factorial experimental approach is then employed to investigate the impact of radial amplitude, axial amplitude, and neutral surface diameter on the crushing behavior of the BCT, comparing it with the CCT and LCT. The results reveal that increasing Ai enhances the axial resistance of the structure, while increasing Aj reduces the buckling effect, resulting in a higher specific energy absorption and lower ultimate load capacity for the BCT compared to the CCT and LCT. A simultaneous multi-objective optimization of the CCT, LCT, and BCT confirms that the BCT offers superior specific energy absorption and ultimate load capacity. The optimal configuration parameters for the BCT have been determined, providing significant insights for practical applications in crashworthiness engineering.

The operational parameters of plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) significantly impact spraying effectiveness, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. This paper conducted a full factorial experiment with varying flight speeds, heights, and nozzle flow rates to collect parameter space data. Using the Kriging surrogate model, we characterized this parameter space and subsequently optimized the average deposition rate and coefficient of variation by employing a variable crossover (mutation) probability multi-objective genetic algorithm. In the obtained Pareto front, the average sedimentation rate is no less than 46%, with a maximum of 56.08%, and the CV coefficient is no more than 13.91%, with a minimum of only 8.42%. These optimized parameters enhance both the average deposition rate and spraying uniformity compared to experimental data. By employing these optimized parameters in practical applications, a balance between the maximum average deposition rate and minimum coefficient of variation can be achieved during UAV spraying, thereby reducing pesticide usage, promoting sustainable agriculture, and mitigating instances of missed spraying and re-spraying.

The application of carbon fiber in cement matrix has some disadvantages, such as poor dispersion and poor interfacial adhesion. In order to improve the interaction between carbon fiber and cement matrix and improve the properties of cement-based composites, carbon fiber was modified by electrophoretic deposition of nano-graphene oxide (GO). In this paper, the effects of doping CF into the cement matrix before and after GO modification are studied comparatively in terms of electrical conductivity, electrothermal warming effect, and pressure-sensitive properties of the cement matrix. It was found that the GO-modified CF reduces both the electrical resistivity of cementitious composites and the required level of fiber incorporation compared to CF. The percolation threshold is 0.7 wt% for CF and 0.5 wt% for GO-CF. The GO-modified CF is more effective than CF as a conductive filler to enhance the electrothermal warming performance of the cement matrix. When the GO-CF doping rate is 0.5%, the specimen temperature increases most rapidly, and the temperature rise value reaches a maximum of up to 30.45 °C, which is twice that of the CF group. When the fiber content is 0.7%, the pressure sensitivity of the sample was the best. When the fiber content is 0.5%, GO-CF can improve the pressure sensitivity of cement mortar specimens, and increase the resistance change rate of the cement mortar specimens by 5.7%.

Bupleurum is a kind of medicinal plant that has made a great contribution to human health because of the presence of bioactive metabolites: Bupleurum saikosaponins and flavonoids. Despite their importance, it has been a challenge to visually characterize the spatial distribution of these metabolites in situ within the plant tissue, which is essential for assessing the quality of Bupleurum . The development of a new technology to identify and evaluate the quality of medicinal plants is therefore necessary. Here, the spatial distribution and quality characteristics of metabolites of three Bupleurum species: Bupleurum smithii (BS), Bupleurum marginatum var. stenophyllum (BM), and Bupleurum chinense (BC) were characterized by Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI). Twenty-nine metabolites, including saikosaponins, non-saikosaponins, and compounds from the saikosaponin synthesis pathway, were characterized. Some of these were successfully localized and visualized in the transverse section of roots. In these Bupleurum species, twelve saikosaponins, five non-saikosaponins, and five saikosaponin synthesis pathway compounds were detected. Twenty-two major influencing components, which exhibit higher ion intensities in higher quality samples, were identified as potential quality markers of Bupleurum . The final outcome indicates that BC has superior quality compared to BS and BM. MALDI-MSI has effectively distinguished the quality of these Bupleurum species, providing an intuitive and effective marker for the quality control of medicinal plants.

Geopolymer foam concrete (GFC), an emerging thermal insulation material known for its environmentally friendly and low-carbon attributes, has gained prominence for its use in bolstering building energy efficiency. A critical challenge in GFC production is foam destabilization by the alkaline environment in which foam is supersaturated with salt. In this study, GFC was prepared by using triterpene saponin (TS), sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS), and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as blowing agents, with fly ash as the precursor and calcium carbide slag (CA) combined with Glauber's salt (GS, Na 2 SO 4 ≥ 99%) as the activator. The effect of GFC on mechanical properties was analyzed by examining its fluidity, pore structure, dry density, and compressive strength. The results show that TS has a stable liquid film capable of adapting to the adverse effects of salt supersaturation and alkaline environments. TS is highly stable in the GFC matrix, and so the corresponding pore size is small, and the connectivity is low in the hardened GFC. In addition, the hydration products of GFC exhibit different morphologies depending on the surfactant used. TS has better water retention due to hydrogen bonding, which facilitates the hydration process.

Sonosensitizers play a crucial role in the efficacy of sonodynamic antitumor therapy (SDT) and sonodynamic antimicrobial chemotherapy (SACT), highlighting the necessity for the development of new compounds with good sonodynamic activity. In this study, three novel 3-substituted ciprofloxacin derivatives (CIPD1, CIPD2, and CIPD3) were designed and synthesized. Their sonodynamic activities were evaluated by assessing the damage to bovine serum albumin (BSA) and Escherichia coli ( E. coli ). Furthermore, the potential mechanism underlying their sonodynamic damage activities was investigated by detecting reactive oxygen species (ROS) under ultrasound irradiation (US). The results demonstrated that all three derivatives exhibited enhanced sonodynamic damage to BSA and E. coli under US, with CIPD1 and CIPD2 showing superior effectiveness compared to CIP. Both the concentrations of derivatives and the duration of ultrasound irradiation were found to significantly impact their sonodynamic effects. All three CIP derivates could be activated to produce ROS following ultrasound irradiation, primarily consisting of 1 O 2 and ·OH. The levels of ROS production were positively correlated with their sonodynamic activities, potentially explaining the mechanism underlying their sonodynamic damage activities.

Titanium (Ti) is generally considered as an ideal bipolar plate (BPP) material because of its excellent corrosion resistance, good machinability and lightweight nature. However, the easy-passivation property, which leads to increased interfacial contact resistance (ICR) and subsequently decreased cell performance, limits its large-scale commercial application in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). In this paper, we proposed a NiTi alloy prepared by suction casting as a promising bipolar plate for PEMFCs. This NiTi alloy exhibits significantly decreased ICR values (16.8 mΩ cm 2 at 1.4 MPa) compared with pure Ti (88.6 mΩ cm 2 at 1.4 MPa), along with enhanced corrosion resistance compared with pure nickel (Ni). The superior corrosion resistance of NiTi alloy is accredited to the nobler open circuit potential and corrosion potential, coupled with low corrosion current densities and passive current densities. The improved ICR can be interpreted by the existence of high-proportioned metallic Ni in the passive film, which contributes to the reduced capacitance characteristic of the passive film (compared with Ti) and enhances charge conduction. This work provides a feasible option to ameliorate BPP material that may have desirable corrosion resistance and ICR.

Solar energy, as a clean and renewable energy source, holds significant promise for addressing water shortages. Utilizing solar energy for water evaporation is seen as an effective solution in this regard. While many existing interfacial photothermal water evaporation systems rely on nanoparticles or graphene as photothermal or support materials, this study introduced polydopamine (PDA) as a photothermal material due to its environmental friendliness and excellent photon absorption characteristics that closely match the solar spectrum. Polystyrene (PS) was also introduced as a support material for its porous structure and density similar to water, enabling it to float on water. The resulting PS-PDA composite porous structure solar evaporator exhibited a photothermal conversion efficiency comparable to nanoparticles (over 75%), yet with lower production costs and minimal environmental impact. This innovative approach offers a scalable solution for water-scarce regions, providing a cost-effective and efficient means to address water scarcity. The use of PDA and PS in this context highlights the potential for utilizing common materials in novel ways to meet pressing environmental challenges.

Anomala Samouelle, 1819 is one of the specious genera of Coleoptera, with over 1000 known species, and includes some of the most destructive pests of crops or forests. Morphological convergence is a common phenomenon within this genus, making the identification of closely related species very difficult. To explore the phylogenetic placement of Anomalini and provide a basis for the classification and identification of Anomala , we comparatively analyzed the complete mitogenome of three Anomala species ( A. exoleta , A. perplexa diana, and A. praecoxalis ). Based on all accessible mitogenome data, we performed comparative mitochondrial genomics analysis of this genus and reconstructed the phylogenetic relationships of Scarabaeidae based on two datasets (protein-coding genes and amino acids) and two methods (Bayesian approach and maximum likelihood). The phylogenetic relationships found in this study highly support that the groups of Aphodiinae, Cetoniinae, Dynastinae, Rutelinae and Scarabaeinae are monophyletic. Interestingly, the phylogenetic clustering relationship was highly consistent with the Scarabaeidae diet, indicating that the herbivorous species and dung-eating species are clustered separately. The phylogenetic tree showed that the subfamily Melolonthinae and the genus Anomala are not monophyletic, suggesting that these two groups should be further revised with more data.

Obesity-related ciliopathies, as a group of ciliopathies including Alström Syndrome and Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, exhibit distinct genetic and phenotypic variability. The understanding of these diseases is highly significant for understanding the functions of primary cilia in the human body, particularly regarding the relationship between obesity and primary cilia. The diagnosis of these diseases primarily relies on clinical presentation and genetic testing. However, there is a significant lack of research on biomarkers to elucidate the variability in clinical manifestations, disease progression, prognosis, and treatment responses. Through an extensive literature review, the paper focuses on obesity-related ciliopathies, reviewing the advancements in the field and highlighting the potential roles of biomarkers in the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and prognosis of these diseases.

The development of fluorescent molecular imprinting sensors for direct, rapid, and sensitive detection of small organic molecules in aqueous systems has always presented a significant challenge in the field of detection. In this study, we successfully prepared a hydrophilic colloidal molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) using a one-pot approach that incorporated polyglycerol methacrylate (PGMMA-TTC), a hydrophilic macromolecular chain transfer agent, to mediate reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer precipitation polymerization (RAFTPP). To simplify the polymerization process while achieving ratiometric fluorescence detection, red fluorescent CdTe quantum dots (QDs) and green fluorescent nitrobenzodiazole (NBD) were introduced as fluorophores (with NBD serving as an enhancer to the template and QDs being inert). This strategy effectively eliminated background noise and significantly improved detection accuracy. Uniform-sized MIP microspheres with high surface hydrophilicity and incorporated ratiometric fluorescent labels were successfully synthesized. In aqueous systems, the hydrophilic ratio fluorescent MIP exhibited a linear response range from 0 to 25 μM for the template molecule 2,4-D with a detection limit of 0.13 μM. These results demonstrate that the ratiometric fluorescent MIP possesses excellent recognition characteristics and selectivity towards 2,4-D, thus, making it suitable for selective detection of trace amounts of pesticide 2,4-D in aqueous systems.

A method of sequential spraying of polyvinyl alcohol with carbon quantum dots (PVA@CDs) aqueous suspension and SiO 2 aqueous suspension is proposed to rapidly prepare multicolor dual-mode anti-counterfeiting labels. With the optimization of the concentration (15%) of colloidal microspheres in the SiO 2 aqueous suspension as well as the spraying process parameters (spray distance of 10 cm, spray duration of 3 s, and assembly temperature of 20 °C), different-sized SiO 2 microspheres (168 nm, 228 nm, and 263 nm) were utilized to rapidly assemble red, green, and blue photonic crystals. Furthermore, the tunable fluorescence emission of carbon quantum dots endows the labels with yellow, green, and blue fluorescence. The constructed dual-mode labeling was used to develop an anti-counterfeiting code with dual-channel information storage capabilities and also to create dual-mode multicolor anti-counterfeiting labels on various packaging substrates. This work provides a novel solution for anti-counterfeiting packaging and information storage.

Photocatalytic H 2 evolution has been regarded as a promising technology to alleviate the energy crisis. Designing graphitic carbon nitride materials with a large surface area, short diffusion paths for electrons, and more exposed reactive sites are beneficial for hydrogen evolution. In this study, a facile method was proposed to dope P into a graphitic carbon nitride framework by calcining melamine with 2-aminoethylphosphonic acid. Meanwhile, PCN nanosheets (PCNSs) were obtained through a thermal exfoliation strategy. Under visible light, the PCNS sample displayed a hydrogen evolution rate of 700 μmol·g -1 ·h -1 , which was 43.8-fold higher than that of pure g-C 3 N 4 . In addition, the PCNS photocatalyst also displayed good photostability for four consecutive cycles, with a total reaction time of 12 h. Its outstanding photocatalytic performance was attributed to the higher surface area exposing more reactive sites and the enlarged band edge for photoreduction potentials. This work provides a facile strategy to regulate catalytic structures, which may attract great research interest in the field of catalysis.

The low delamination tendency and high damage tolerance of three-dimensional (3D) braided composites highlight their significant potential in handling defects. To enhance the engineering potential of three-dimensional four-directional (3D4d) braided composites and assess the failure mode of hole defects, this study introduces a series of 3D4d braided composites with prefabricated holes, studying their compressive properties and failure mechanisms through experimental and finite element methods. Digital image correlation (DIC) was used to monitor the compressive strain on the surface of materials. Scanning acoustic microscope (SAM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the longitudinal compression failure mode inside the material. A macroscopic model is established, and the porous materials are predicted by using the general braided composite material prediction theory. While reducing the forecast cost, the error is also controlled within 21%. The analysis of failure mechanisms elucidates the damage extension mode, and the porous damage tolerance ability aligns closely with the bearing mode of braided material structure. Different braiding angles will lead to different bearing modes of materials. Under longitudinal compression, the average strength loss of 15° specimens is 38.21%, and that of 30° specimens is 8.1%. The larger the braided angle, the stronger the porous damage tolerance. Different types of prefabricated holes will also affect their mechanical properties and damage tolerance.

Low-light images are prevalent in intelligent monitoring and many other applications, with low brightness hindering further processing. Although low-light image enhancement can reduce the influence of such problems, current methods often involve a complex network structure or many iterations, which are not conducive to their efficiency. This paper proposes a Zero-Reference Camera Response Network using a camera response model to achieve efficient enhancement for arbitrary low-light images. A double-layer parameter-generating network with a streamlined structure is established to extract the exposure ratio K from the radiation map, which is obtained by inverting the input through a camera response function. Then, K is used as the parameter of a brightness transformation function for one transformation on the low-light image to realize enhancement. In addition, a contrast-preserving brightness loss and an edge-preserving smoothness loss are designed without the requirement for references from the dataset. Both can further retain some key information in the inputs to improve precision. The enhancement is simplified and can reach more than twice the speed of similar methods. Extensive experiments on several LLIE datasets and the DARK FACE face detection dataset fully demonstrate our method's advantages, both subjectively and objectively.
