Paddy field leveling is an essential step before rice transplanting. During the operation of a paddy field grader, a common issue is the wrapping of rice straw around the blades, resulting in a low rice straw burial rate. This study focused on analyzing the operating parameters of a disc spring–tooth-combined paddy field grader. A soil–straw mechanism simulation model was created using EDEM 2021 software to simulate the field operation status. Firstly, the single-factor test was carried out, with the working speed, the working depth of the disc cutter roller, and the rotation speed of the cutter roller as the factors and the straw-buried rate (SBR) and the machine forward resistance (MFR) as the test indexes, and the parameter range was optimized. The parameters were optimized by the response surface method (RSM) and machine learning algorithms. The results indicated that the genetic algorithm–back propagation (GA-BP) neural network outperformed other optimization models in terms of prediction accuracy and stability. By utilizing the GA-BP regression model and RSM model for regression fitting, two sets of optimal parameter combinations were obtained. Verification experiments were carried out using two sets of parameter combinations. Taking the average of the experimental results, the simulation results showed that the straw burial rate was 93.47% and the forward resistance was 6487 N for the parameter combinations of RSM, and the straw burial rate was 94.86% and the forward resistance was 6352 N for the parameter combinations of GA-BP; the field experiments showed that the straw burial rate was 92.86% and the forward resistance was 6518 N for the parameter combinations of RSM, and the straw burial rate was 95.17% and the forward resistance was 6249 N for the parameter combinations of GA-BP. The results demonstrated that the GA-BP prediction model exhibited better predictive capabilities compared to the traditional RSM, providing more accurate predictions of the paddy field grader's field operation performance. Safe and efficient recycling of industrially generated machined chips is a high-priority technological issue. In this study, the effect of SiC particles (SiCp) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of SiCp/AZ91D composites is systematically analyzed, and the reinforcement mechanism of SiCp on composites is investigated. Different contents of SiCp/AZ91D composites are fabricated by solid-state synthesis. The results show that the incorporation of SiCp refined the grains of SiCp/AZ91D composites, which is related to the uniform distribution of SiCp at the grain boundaries. The strong bonding of SiCp with the AZ91D matrix inhibited the generation and extension of cracks, which led to the simultaneous increase in the yield strength (YS) and elongation (EL) of the SiCp/AZ91D composites. The mechanical properties of the 3 wt.% SiCp/AZ91D composites are the most superior, with an average grain size, Vickers hardness, ultimate tensile strength (UTS), YS, and EL of 6.69 ± 4.48 μm, 89.5 ± 2.5 HV, 341 ± 11 MPa, 172 ± 8 MPa, and 4.43 ± 0.18%, respectively. The reinforcement mechanisms of SiCp/AZ91D composites are mainly grain refinement and dislocation strengthening. Solid-state synthesis is an effective method for recycling magnesium alloy chips. Sea ice motion (SIM) plays a crucial role in setting the distribution of the ice cover in the Arctic. Limited by images' spatial resolution and tracking algorithms, challenges exist in obtaining coastal sea ice motion (SIM) based on passive microwave satellite sensors. In this study, we developed a method based on random forest (RF) models to obtain Arctic SIM in winter by incorporating wind field and coastal geographic location information. These random forest models were trained using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) SIM data. Our results show good consistency with SIM data retrieved from satellite imagery and buoy observations. With respect to the SAR data, compared with SIM estimated with RF model training using reanalysis surface wind, the results by additional coastal information input had a lower root mean square error (RMSE) and a higher correlation coefficient by 31% and 14% relative improvement, respectively. The latter SIM result also showed a better performance for magnitude, especially within 100 km of the coastline in the north of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. In addition, the influence of coastline on SIM is quantified through variable importance calculation, at 22% and 28% importance of all RF variables for east and north SIM components, respectively. Elymus dahucirus is an essential plant for ecological restoration in fragile ecological areas and mining area restoration. As lawn grass, it can quickly cover soil and prevent soil erosion, so it is commonly used as a pioneer grass for lawn greening and slope protection. In recent years, with the development of mineral resources, Qinghai–Tibet Plateau soil is facing the threat of heavy metal cadmium (Cd) pollution. E. dahuricus can host the filamentous fungus Epichloë bromicola. To make better use of the advantages that Epichloë bring to host plants to alleviate heavy metal pollution in soil, plant growth and antioxidant capacity effects on E. bromicola infected (E+) and uninfected (E−) E. dahuricus were determined under Cd stress. During Cd treatment, plant growth was decreased by Cd stress, while E+ plants exhibited equal or better growth compared to E− plants. Cd treatment induces a proline and antioxidant enzyme burst in infected plants, while malondialdehyde (MDA) increases. E. bromicola improved plant growth and antioxidant capacity. Simple Summary: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) ranks seventh among malignant tumors worldwide, with an estimated 500,000 new cases annually. Despite the development of early diagnosis technology, there are still 60% of patients already in the middle–late stages when they were first diagnosed with HNSCC. Despite advances in multidisciplinary synthetic therapy, the overall survival rate remains low, with a five-year survival rate of less than 50%. Thus, it is urgently needed to search for novel early diagnosis biomarkers and therapy targets. In this study, we revealed the role of SOX2-OT in HNSCC progression and metastasis by binding with ILF3, which may serve as a therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker to improve the early diagnosis and overall survival of HNSCC. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is involved in the progression of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The molecular mechanism of lncRNA SOX2-OT in HNSCC remains unclear. Therefore, we aimed to elucidate the oncogenic role of SOX2-OT in HNSCC. QRT-PCR analysis was performed in 61 pairs of HNSCC cancer tissues, adjacent normal tissues, and 68 plasma samples confirmed that lncRNA SOX2-OT was overexpressed in cancer tissues and plasma samples, which served as a poor prognostic factor for HNSCC. The FISH assay demonstrated that SOX2-OT was localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of HNSCC cell lines. Further, the cell function assay confirmed that SOX2-OT promoted cell proliferation and metastasis in vitro and in vivo. RNA pulldown and RIP assay results revealed that SOX2-OT bonds with ILF3 in HNSCC, and the rescue assay confirmed that SOX2-OT played an oncogenic role depending on ILF3 protein expression. Ingenuity pathway analysis and Western blotting indicated that SOX2-OT regulated HNSCC progression by promoting STAT3 phosphorylation and modulating the crosstalk between STAT3 and TGF-β signaling. These results reveal evidence for the role of SOX2-OT in HNSCC progression and metastasis by binding to ILF3, which may serve as a therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in HNSCC. This study investigated the implementation and effectiveness of a national plan for a digital competence training program (DCTP) aimed at Chinese teachers. A relational content analysis was performed using policy documents, observations, and assessments to identify four DCTP implementation stages. Local educational departments and training institutes were afforded a moderate degree of autonomy to organize training activities. A t-test indicated disparities in the effectiveness of training between privately funded and publicly funded institutes, with the latter demonstrating stronger assessment outcomes in certain subject areas. The study examined the advantages and disadvantages of this implementation process, proposing collaborative efforts between privately funded and publicly funded training institutions. The urban heat island effect poses a growing threat to human society, especially in densely populated and developed megacities. With the introduction of the Local Climate Zones (LCZ) framework, new perspectives and findings have been brought to urban heat island studies. This study investigated the cooling effect of vegetation and albedo on the surface urban heat island (SUHI) in the classification system of LCZ during different seasons, using three Chinese megacities as case study areas. Single-factor linear regression and Pearson's correlation coefficient were applied to analyze the seasonal cooling effect of both albedo and the NDVI on the SUHI within different LCZs. The results show that (1) the variability of the SUHI is reflected in its dominance and intensity within certain LCZs in different cities and in the efficiency of cooling factors; (2) the cooling effect of vegetation is dominant in each season, and the cooling effect produced by albedo within specific seasons can be differentiated by LCZs. Establishing appropriate inter-organizational partnership in disaster response is of great help to the improvement of disaster relief performance. However, the selection of proper disaster response organizations for government agencies to build partnerships among the numerous relief organizations remains to be addressed. To fill the gap, this paper adopted a complex network modeling method to explain the formation mechanism of inter-organizational partnership in disaster response. Then, based on a numerical simulation method, the paper compared different inter-organizational partnering strategies, and explored the optimal inter-organizational partnering strategy in the disaster response process. Results demonstrate that the optimal partnering strategy is contingent on disaster response conditions, with accurate disaster information and abundant relief materials to choose the material difference principle, and vague disaster information to choose the organizational influence principle. At the same time, frequent information communication and material cooperation allocation can be transformed into low-frequency information communication and government-led material allocation. This study provides practical guidance for disaster relief organizations to choose inter-organizational partnering strategies, and enriches the disaster organization management theory. Simple Summary: Rates of early-onset colorectal cancer (eoCRC), defined as <50 years of age at diagnosis, have increased. Nearly one-quarter of cases of eoCRC may be associated with a germline pathogenic variant (PGV) resulting in a hereditary cancer syndrome. In the present study, we reviewed patients with a history of colorectal cancer who were referred to medical genetics at our institution to better understand the prevalence and spectrum of PGVs in both patients with eoCRC as well as with average-onset CRC (aoCRC). We found that approximately one in four patients with eoCRC had a PGV, which included 8.3% with Lynch syndrome. In patients with aoCRC, similar rates of detection of PGVs were seen. In both groups, approximately one-third of patients referred to medical genetics did not undergo genetic testing. This study reinforces the importance for patients with CRC to undergo genetic testing, especially those with eoCRC. Over the past 20 years, rates of early-onset colorectal cancer (eoCRC), defined as <50 years of age at diagnosis, have increased, with 16–25% associated with a pathogenic germline variant (PGV) resulting in a hereditary cancer syndrome. In the present study, we sought to further characterize PGVs observed in patients with eoCRC. We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with a history of CRC referred for genetic counseling at Mayo Clinic Rochester between April 2019 and April 2022. Three hundred and three CRC patients were referred to medical genetics, including 124 with a history of eoCRC. Only 84 patients (68%) with eoCRC referred for genetic counseling completed genetic testing, with an average of 48 genes evaluated. PGVs were identified in 27.4% with eoCRC, including 8.3% with Lynch syndrome (LS). Other detected PGVs known to increase the risk of CRC included MUTYH (4.8%), CHEK2 (3.6%), APC, BMPR1A, and TP53 (1.3% each). Among those with aoCRC, 109 patients (61%) completed genetic testing, among which 88% had either a dMMR tumor, personal history of an additional LS malignancy, or family history of LS malignancy, with PGVs detected in 23% of patients. After the residual film recycling machine recovers the film, some small pieces of the film will remain on the surface of the field. To solve the problem of collecting small pieces of film, it is necessary to develop a piece of intelligent picking equipment. The detection of small pieces of film is the first problem to be solved. This study proposes a method of an object detection algorithm fusing multi-scale features (MFFM Faster R-CNN) based on improved Faster R-CNN. Based on the Faster R-CNN model, the feature pyramid network is added to solve the problem of multiscale change of residual film. The convolution block attention module is introduced to enhance the feature extraction ability of the model. The Soft-NMS algorithm is used instead of the NMS algorithm to improve the detection accuracy of the model in the RPN network. The experimental results show that the model is able to effectively detect surface residual film in complex environments, with an AP of 83.45%, F1-score of 0.89, and average detection time of 248.36 ms. The model is compared with SSD and YOLOv5 under the same experimental environment and parameters, and it is found that the model not only ensures high-precision detection but also ensures real-time detection. Social responsibility strategies are indispensable for the sustainable development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Nonetheless, the application of social responsibility (SR) policies in such mega infrastructure projects remains a pressing concern since a number of barriers impede the effective integration of SR practices. Therefore, this paper seeks to identify these barriers and determine the interrelationships among them. A list of barriers was first identified from a literature review and expert consultation. Subsequently, a survey was designed to collect experts' views on the interrelations among these barriers. The Fuzzy DEMATEL method was employed to analyze these barriers' causal relationships and interdependencies. Subsequently, the ISM approach was used to develop a hierarchical structure and establish the driving and dependence relationships among them. The classification of barriers, based on driving power and dependence power, was accomplished using the MICMAC analysis. The results reveal that barriers such as "The diverse institutions, cultures, and social conditions among BRI countries", "Lack of robust social responsibility laws and regulations in the host countries", "Lack of stringent and legally binding BRI policies and guidelines governing social responsibility", "The diverse environmental and social frameworks and standards among BRI countries", "The diverse international, national, and private funds for BRI projects", and "Lack of customer awareness and knowledge of CSR" are the most critical barriers and have the greatest influence on social responsibility implementation. Identifying these key barriers and their interrelationships will assist decision-makers, policymakers, and other stakeholders involved in BRI mega infrastructure projects in minimizing or overcoming them, hence increasing the chances of successfully integrating social responsibility practices within these projects. Sea ice thickness (SIT) presents comprehensive information on Arctic sea ice changes and their role in the climate system. However, our understanding of SIT is limited by a scarcity of observations and inaccurate model simulations. Based on simultaneous parameter optimization with a micro genetic algorithm, the North Atlantic/Arctic Ocean–Sea Ice Model (NAOSIM) has already demonstrated advantages in Arctic sea ice simulations. However, its performance in simulating pan-Arctic SITs remains unclear. In this study, a further evaluation of Arctic SITs from NAOSIM was conducted based on a comparison with satellite and in situ observations. Generally, NAOSIM can reproduce the annual cycle and downward trend in the sea ice volume. However, deficiencies can still be found in the simulation of SIT spatial patterns. NAOSIM overestimates the SIT of thinner ice (<1.5 m) in the Beaufort Sea, underestimates the SIT of thick ice (>1.5 m) in the central Arctic and is unable to capture the upward trend in the SIT in the north of the Canadian Archipelago as well as to reproduce the intensity of the observed SIT variability. In terms of SIT simulation, NAOSIM performs better as the time approaches the optimization window (2000–2012). Vegetation and fire archives of the late Holocene are essential for understanding the importance of natural and anthropogenic forcings on past and future vegetation successions as well as climate changes. Here we present a 1640-year record of vegetation and fire history of the Lake Haixihai catchment in northwestern Yunnan, southwest China. Pollen and charcoal analyses as well as XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis of lacustrine sediments from Lake Haixihai were employed to reveal its regional vegetation, forest fire, and soil erosion intensity changes over the last 1640 years. The results show their significant changes attributed to both climatic conditions and human activities: The lake catchment witnessed the densest forests (including pine and hemlock forests, and evergreen broadleaved forests) and the weakest soil erosion of the last 1640 years as well as relatively frequent forest fires at 380–880 AD, when vegetation succession, forest fire, and soil erosion were mainly driven by natural forcings, i.e., climatic conditions. A significant and abrupt drop in forest density, minor changes in abundance of forest components, and gradually strengthening soil erosion occurred at the transition from 880 to 1040 AD, when anthropogenic forcings such as the development of agriculture and systematic deforestation gradually became dominant ones driving vegetation succession and soil erosion. After this transition, forest density and soil erosion intensity never returned to the level before 880 AD, implying that the modern landscape in the lake catchment was already established approximately at as early as ca. 1040 AD. No significant changes in forest component and density as well as forest fire and soil erosion occurred until 1940 AD. The most frequent forest fires, the strongest soil erosion, and low forest density after 1940 AD might be attributed partially to climatic conditions and partially to extensive deforestation around 1960 AD. Sugarcane leaf blight (SLB), a major fungal leaf disease of sugarcane (Saccharum spp.), has been attributed to Stagonospora tainanensis. In December 2020 and May 2021, signs of leaf blight were observed on sugarcane in the fields of Chongzuo City, in the Guangxi Province of China. Lesions on the leaves were characterized by yellow or dark red spots in the center. Fungal species were isolated, purified and subjected to pathogenicity evaluation on the sugarcane plants. An isolate that caused symptoms the same as those observed in the field was initially identified as S. tainanensis (Leptosphaeria taiwanensis, perfect state) based on its morphological characteristics both of asexual and sexual stages. Dark brown and nearly spherical pycnidia with conidia of long ellipsoidal, hyaline, one to four cells and 29.27 to 54.39 μm long and 9.03 to 16.12 μm wide were found on corn meal agar medium. Ascomata with asci of cylindrical to clavate, a short stipe and eight spores slightly constricted at the septum, with the size of the spore ranging from 36 to 44 μm long and 8.5 to 12 μm wide, were formed on the sugarcane-leaf-decoction saccharose agar medium. The identity of the species was further confirmed by rDNA ITS and TEF-1α sequencing. The optimal temperature for mycelial growth was 25 °C and the optimal pH was 6.0. The pathogen grew well in a medium with oats as the carbon source and yeast extract as the nitrogen source, but poorly in a medium with urea as the nitrogen source. This study is the first to identify the sugarcane leaf blight pathogen in Guangxi, and the first publication describing the biological characterization of S. tainanensis. The occurrence of sugarcane leaf blight should alert sugarcane breeders and plant pathologists to consider integrating control of this potentially important disease into the agenda of their breeding and disease control programs. Fidelity mechanics is formalized as a framework for investigating critical phenomena in quantum many-body systems. Fidelity temperature is introduced for quantifying quantum fluctuations, which, together with fidelity entropy and fidelity internal energy, constitute three basic state functions in fidelity mechanics, thus enabling us to formulate analogues of the four thermodynamic laws and Landauer's principle at zero temperature. Fidelity flows, which are irreversible, are defined and may be interpreted as an alternative form of renormalization group flows. Thus, fidelity mechanics offers a means to characterize both stable and unstable fixed points: divergent fidelity temperature for unstable fixed points and zero-fidelity temperature and (locally) maximal fidelity entropy for stable fixed points. In addition, fidelity entropy behaves differently at an unstable fixed point for topological phase transitions and at a stable fixed point for topological quantum states of matter. A detailed analysis of fidelity mechanical-state functions is presented for six fundamental models—the quantum spin- 1 / 2 XY model, the transverse-field quantum Ising model in a longitudinal field, the quantum spin- 1 / 2 XYZ model, the quantum spin- 1 / 2 XXZ model in a magnetic field, the quantum spin-1 XYZ model, and the spin- 1 / 2 Kitaev model on a honeycomb lattice for illustrative purposes. To address trade-off and membrane-fouling challenges during the development of nanofiltration membranes, a thin-film composite membrane was prepared on the basis of interfacial polymerization regulated by adjusting the capsaicin-derived self-polymer poly N-(2-hydroxy-5-(methylthio) benzyl) acrylamide (PHMTBA) on the polysulfone substrate in this study. Through the self-polymerization of the monomer HMTBA with varied contents, microwave-assisted technology was employed to develop a variety of PHMTBAs. It was discovered that PHMTBA is involved in the interfacial polymerization process. Piperazine and PHMTBA competed for the reaction with trimesoyl chloride, resulting in a flatter and looser membrane surface. The PHMTBA-modified membrane presented a typical double-layer structure: a thicker support layer and a thinner active layer. The addition of PHMTBA to membranes improved their hydrophilicity and negative charge density. As a result, the PHMTBA-modified membrane showed dependable separation performance (water flux of 159.5 L m−2 h−1 and rejection of 99.02% for Na2SO4) as well as enhanced anti-fouling properties (flux recovery ratio of more than 100% with bovine serum albumin-fouling and antibacterial efficiency of 93.7% against Escherichia coli). The performance of the prepared membranes was superior to that of most other modified TFC NF membranes previously reported in the literature. While titanium(Ti) implants have been extensively used in orthopaedic and dental applications, the intrinsic bioinertness of untreated Ti surface usually results in insufficient osseointegration irrespective of the excellent biocompatibility and mechanical properties of it. In this study, we prepared surface modified Ti substrates in which silicon (Si) was doped into the titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotubes on Ti surface using plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) technology. Compared to TiO2 nanotubes and Ti alone, Si-doped TiO2 nanotubes significantly enhanced the expression of genes related to osteogenic differentiation, including Col-I, ALP, Runx2, OCN, and OPN, in mouse pre-osteoblastic MC3T3-E1 cells and deposition of mineral matrix. In vivo, the pull-out mechanical tests after two weeks of implantation in rat femur showed that Si-doped TiO2 nanotubes improved implant fixation strength by 18% and 54% compared to TiO2-NT and Ti implants, respectively. Together, findings from this study indicate that Si-doped TiO2 nanotubes promoted the osteogenic differentiation of osteoblastic cells and improved bone-Ti integration. Large-scale crop mapping is essential for agricultural management. Phenological variation often exists in the same crop due to different climatic regions or practice management, resulting in current classification models requiring sufficient training samples from different regions. However, the cost of sample collection is more time-consuming, costly, and labor-intensive, so it is necessary to develop automatic crop mapping models that require only a few samples and can be extended to a large area. In this study, a new white bolls index (WBI) based on the unique canopy of cotton at the bolls opening stage was proposed, which can characterize the intensity of bolls opening. The value of WBI will increase as the opening of the bolls increases. As a result, the white bolls index can be used to detect cotton automatically from other crops. Four study areas in different regions were used to evaluate the WBI performance. The overall accuracy (OA) for the four study sites was more than 82%. Graph learning is an effective dimensionality reduction (DR) manner to analyze the intrinsic properties of high dimensional data, it has been widely used in the fields of DR for hyperspectral image (HSI) data, but they ignore the collaborative relationship between sample pairs. In this paper, a novel supervised spectral DR method called local constrained manifold structure collaborative preserving embedding (LMSCPE) was proposed for HSI classification. At first, a novel local constrained collaborative representation (CR) model is designed based on the CR theory, which can obtain more effective collaborative coefficients to characterize the relationship between samples pairs. Then, an intraclass collaborative graph and an interclass collaborative graph are constructed to enhance the intraclass compactness and the interclass separability, and a local neighborhood graph is constructed to preserve the local neighborhood structure of HSI. Finally, an optimal objective function is designed to obtain a discriminant projection matrix, and the discriminative features of various land cover types can be obtained. LMSCPE can characterize the collaborative relationship between sample pairs and explore the intrinsic geometric structure in HSI. Tungsten oxide-based materials have drawn huge attention for their versatile uses to construct various energy storage devices. Particularly, their electrochromic devices and optically-changing devices are intensively studied in terms of energy-saving. Furthermore, based on close connections in the forms of device structure and working mechanisms between these two main applications, bifunctional devices of tungsten oxide-based materials with energy storage and optical change came into our view, and when solar cells are integrated, multifunctional devices are accessible. In this article, we have reviewed the latest developments of tungsten oxide-based nanostructured materials in various kinds of applications, and our focus falls on their energy-related uses, especially supercapacitors, lithium ion batteries, electrochromic devices, and their bifunctional and multifunctional devices. Additionally, other applications such as photochromic devices, sensors, and photocatalysts of tungsten oxide-based materials have also been mentioned. In vitro models of the liver have a good simulation of the micro-liquid environment inside the human liver and the communication between cell tissues, which provides an important research tool for drug research and liver disease treatment. In this paper, we designed a 3D liver chip and real-time monitoring system based on microfluidic technology. The in vitro model of the liver on the chip was established by the three-dimensional microfluidic chip pipeline and the corresponding microwell array. Meanwhile, the culture medium is continuously injected on the chip, and the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and near-infrared spectroscopy of the liver chip are recorded and analyzed from day one to day five. When the 3D cultured liver chip in vitro model reached a certain period and stabilized, paracetamol with varying gradients of concentration was applied to the cultured cells for drug resistance testing. The experimental results show that the liver chip and its monitoring system designed in this paper can maintain 100% cell viability of hepatocytes in vitro for a long time. Furthermore, it can meet the requirements of measurement technologies such as electrical impedance measurement and near-infrared spectroscopy in real-time, providing a stable culture platform for the further study of organ chips. Alkaloids produced by endophytic fungi can have an important influence on agricultural ecology, and can often be affected by climatic factors. At present, there are no studies that have assessed the relationship between alkaloid production and elevation or climatic factors in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. To address this knowledge gap, we explored ergot alkaloid and peramine production in Epichloë-infected (E+) Elymus tangutorum collected from the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau and assessed the relationship between the concentration of these alkaloids and elevation. The effects of temperature and precipitation on these relationships were also investigated. The concentrations of ergonovine, ergine, and peramine ranged from 0.47–0.84, 0.35–1.72 and 9.18–13.00 µg·g−1, respectively. Fitted cubic regression curves describing an arc-pattern across the elevational series were statistically significant for ergine and peramine concentrations. The elevational trend in peramine concentration was linked to mean daily temperature, while the ergine elevational trend was linked to mean precipitation. Our results provide a new understanding of the climatic factors that influence the alkaloid production of endophytic fungi at different elevations in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. Based on high resolution satellite observations of sea surface temperature (SST), warm filaments near the Kuroshio around the Luzon Strait were systematically identified. These filaments extend an average length of about 200 km from the Kuroshio. The occurrence and features of the warm filaments are highly associated with both mesoscale eddies and the intensity of the SST gradient of the Kuroshio. Warm filaments are formed by heat advection from the warm Kuroshio into the colder interior Pacific Ocean by anticyclonic eddies (∼58%), cyclonic eddies (∼10%), and the dipole eddies (∼16%). The large temperature gradient near the Batanes Islands may also contribute to the high frequency of warm filaments in their vicinity. Soil salinization is a major soil health issue globally. Over the past 40 years, extreme weather and increasing human activity have profoundly changed the spatial distribution of land use and water resources across seven oases in southern Xinjiang, China. However, knowledge of the spatial distribution of soil salinization in this region has not been updated since a land survey in the 1970s to 1980s (the harmonized world soil database, HWSD) due to scarce observational data. Now, given the uncertainty raised by near future climate change, it is important to develop quick, reliable and accurate estimates of soil salinity at larger scales for a better manage strategy to the local fragile ecosystem that with limited land and water resources. This study collected electromagnetic induction (EMI) readings near surface soil to update on the spatial distribution and changes of water and salt in the region and to map apparent electrical conductivity (ECa, mS·m−1), in four coil configurations: vertical dipole in 1.50 m (ECav01) and 0.75 m (ECav05), so as the horizontal dipole in 0.75 m (ECah01) and 0.37 m (ECah05), then all the ECa coil configurations were modeled with random forest algorithm. The validation results showed an R2 range of 0.77–0.84 and an RMSE range of 115.17–142.76 mS·m−1. The validation accuracy of deep ECa dipole (ECah01, ECav05, and ECav01) was greater than that of shallow ECa (ECah05), as the former integrated a thicker portion of the subsurface. The range of EC spatial variability that can be explained by ECa is 0.19–0.36 (farmland, mean value is 0.28), grassland is 0.16–0.49 (shrub/grassland, mean value is 0.34), and bare land is 0.28–0.70 (bare land, mean value is 0.56). Among them, ECav01 has the best predictive ability. As the depth increased, the influence of soil-related variables decreased, and the contribution of climate-related variables increased. The main factor affecting ECa variation was climate-related variables, followed by vegetation-related variables and soil-related variables. Scatter plot show ECa was significantly correlated with ECe_HWSD_030 (0–30 cm, r = 0.482, p < 0.01) and ECe_HWSD_30100 (30–100 cm, r = 0.556, p < 0.01). The predicted spatial ECa maps were similar to the ECe values from HWSD, but also implies that the distribution of soil water and salt has undergone tremendous changes since 1980s. The study demonstrates that EMI data provide a reliable and cost-effective tool for obtaining high-resolution soil maps that can be used for better land evaluation and soil improvement at larger scales. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have reshaped therapeutic strategies for cancer patients. The development of ICI for early stage colorectal cancer is accompanied by specific challenges: (i) the selection of patients who are likely to benefit from these treatments, i.e., patients with tumors harboring predictive factors of efficacy of ICI, such as microsatellite instability and/or mismatch repair deficiency (MSI/dMMR), or other potential parameters (increased T cell infiltration using Immunoscore® or others, high tumor mutational burden, POLE mutation), (ii) the selection of patients at risk of disease recurrence (poor prognostic features), and (iii) the choice of an accurate clinical trial methodological framework. In this review, we will discuss the ins and outs of clinical research of ICI for early stage MSI/dMMR CC patients in adjuvant and neoadjuvant settings. Tungsten oxide (WO3) is widely used as a functional material for "smart windows" due to its excellent electrochromic properties, however it is difficult to overcome the conflict between its optical modulation and cyclic stability. In this work, WO3 thin films with different crystal structures were prepared by DC reactive magnetron sputtering method. The effects of substrate temperature on the structure, composition, and electrochromic properties of WO3 films were investigated. The results show that the crystallinity of the WO3 film increases with increasing deposition temperature, indicating that temperature plays an important role in controlling the structure of the WO3 film. For WO3 thin films formed at a substrate temperature of 573 K, the film is in an amorphous state to a crystalline transition state. From X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, the thin film showed a weak WO3 crystallization peak, which was in the composite structure of amorphous and nanocrystalline. Which has the best electrochromic properties, with modulation amplitude of 73.1% and bleached state with a coloration efficiency of 42.9 cm2/C at a wavelength of 550 nm. CuCrO2 is one of the most promising p-type transparent conductive oxide (TCO) materials. Its electrical properties can be considerably improved by Mg doping. In this work, Cr-deficient CuCrO2 thin films were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering based on 5 at.% Mg doping. The influence of Cr deficiency on the film's optoelectronic properties was investigated. As the film's composition varied, CuO impurity phases appeared in the film. The mixed valency of Cu+/Cu2+ led to an enhancement of the hybridization between the Cu3d and O2p orbitals, which further reduced the localization of the holes by oxygen. As a result, the carrier concentration significantly improved. However, since the impurity phase of CuO introduced more grain boundaries in Cu[Cr0.95−xMg0.05]O2, impeding the transport of the carrier and incident light in the film, the carrier mobility and the film's transmittance reduced accordingly. Cu2O thin film has been widely studied due to its intrinsic p-type conductivity. It can be used as p-type transparent conductive electrode or hole transport layer in various potential applications. However, its intrinsic p-type conductivity is very limited, which needs to be optimized by introducing acceptor defects. In this work, the electrical properties of the Cu2O films was improved through introducing interstitial oxygen in the films those were deposited via direct current sputtering assisted by oxygen ion beam. The results show that with oxygen ion beam current increase, the carrier concentration effectively improves. However, with more interstitial oxygen introduced, the film's crystallinity significantly reduces, as well as the carrier mobility decreases. Meanwhile, all of the Cu2O films present moderate transmittance in the visible region (400–800 nm), but ideal transmittance in the near infrared (NIR) light region (800–2500 nm). When compared with the strong reflection of the n-type transparent conductive film to the near infrared light, the Cu2O film is transparent conductive in NIR region, which expands its application in the fabrication of NIR electrical devices. Hyperspectral remote sensing images (HSIs) have a higher spectral resolution compared to multispectral remote sensing images, providing the possibility for more reasonable and effective analysis and processing of spectral data. However, rich spectral information usually comes at the expense of low spatial resolution owing to the physical limitations of sensors, which brings difficulties for identifying and analyzing targets in HSIs. In the super-resolution (SR) field, many methods have been focusing on the restoration of the spatial information while ignoring the spectral aspect. To better restore the spectral information in the HSI SR field, a novel super-resolution (SR) method was proposed in this study. Firstly, we innovatively used three-dimensional (3D) convolution based on SRGAN (Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network) structure to not only exploit the spatial features but also preserve spectral properties in the process of SR. Moreover, we used the attention mechanism to deal with the multiply features from the 3D convolution layers, and we enhanced the output of our model by improving the content of the generator's loss function. The experimental results indicate that the 3DASRGAN (3D Attention-based Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network) is both visually quantitatively better than the comparison methods, which proves that the 3DASRGAN model can reconstruct high-resolution HSIs with high efficiency. In a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC), the right alliance can help manufacturers better manufacture green products and make more profits. Choosing the most suitable alliance partner is also critical for manufacturers. In regard to product greenness and recycling competition, this paper considers the CLSC comprised of a dominant manufacturer, a retailer, and a third-party recycler. Based on the Stackelberg game and equilibrium analysis, we discuss the optimal supply chain decision-making under four different models. Then, in order to ensure supply chain (SC) members' enthusiasm to participate in the alliance, we design a profit distribution method to distribute the total profit to SC members. The results show that manufacturer's optimal alliance decision is related to the degree of recycling competition. When less than the threshold, C alliance(the manufacturer make an alliance with the retailer and the third-party recycler at the same time) is optimal, otherwise, MR alliance(the manufacturer and the retailer make an alliance) is more beneficial for the manufacturer. In this paper, a novel method that utilizes the fractional correlation-based algorithm and the B-spline curve fitting-based algorithm is proposed to extract the complementary features for detecting the operating states of appliances. The identification of appliance operating states is one of the key parts for nonintrusive load monitoring (NILM). Considering the individual spurious emissions generated because of nonlinear components in each electronic device, the spurious emissions from the power cord can be picked up to solve the problem of data storage. Five types of common household appliances are considered in this study. The fractional correlation-based algorithm and B-spline curve fitting-based algorithm are used to extract two groups of complementary features from the spurious emissions of those five types of appliances. The experimental results show that the feature vectors extracted using the proposed method are obviously distinguishable. In addition, the features extracted show a good long-time stability, which is verified through a five-day experiment. Finally, based on support vector machine (SVM) and Dempster–Shafer (D-S) evidence theory, the identification accuracy reaches 85.5% using a combining classifier incorporated with the features extracted from the proposed methods. Sensible heat exchange has important consequences for urban meteorology and related applications. Directional radiometric surface temperatures of urban canopies observed by remote sensing platforms have the potential to inform estimations of urban sensible heat flux. An imaging radiometer viewing the surface from nadir cannot capture the complete urban surface temperature, which is defined as the mean surface temperature over all urban facets in three dimensions, which includes building wall surface temperatures and requires an estimation of urban sensible heat flux. In this study, a numerical microclimate model, Temperatures of Urban Facets in 3-D (TUF-3D), was used to model sensible heat flux as well as radiometric and complete surface temperatures. Model data were applied to parameterize an effective resistance for the calculation of urban sensible heat flux from the radiometric (nadir view) surface temperature. The results showed that sensible heat flux was overestimated during daytime when the radiometric surface temperature was used without the effective resistance that accounts for the impact of wall surface temperature on heat flux. The rapid development in deep learning and computer vision has introduced new opportunities and paradigms for building extraction from remote sensing images. In this paper, we propose a novel fully convolutional network (FCN), in which a spatial residual inception (SRI) module is proposed to capture and aggregate multi-scale contexts for semantic understanding by successively fusing multi-level features. The proposed SRI-Net is capable of accurately detecting large buildings that might be easily omitted while retaining global morphological characteristics and local details. On the other hand, to improve computational efficiency, depthwise separable convolutions and convolution factorization are introduced to significantly decrease the number of model parameters. The proposed model is evaluated on the Inria Aerial Image Labeling Dataset and the Wuhan University (WHU) Aerial Building Dataset. The experimental results show that the proposed methods exhibit significant improvements compared with several state-of-the-art FCNs, including SegNet, U-Net, RefineNet, and DeepLab v3+. Metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is a heterogeneous disease that can evoke discordant responses to therapy among different lesions in individual patients. The Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) criteria do not take into consideration response heterogeneity. We explored and developed lesion-based measurement response criteria to evaluate their prognostic effect on overall survival (OS)., Patients and Methods: Patients enrolled in 17 first-line clinical trials, who had mCRC with ≥ 2 lesions at baseline, and a restaging scan by 12 weeks were included. For each patient, lesions were categorized as a progressing lesion (PL: > 20% increase in the longest diameter (LD)), responding lesion (RL: > 30% decrease in LD), or stable lesion (SL: neither PL nor RL) based on the 12-week scan. Lesion-based response criteria were defined for each patient as follows: PL only, SL only, RL only, and varied responses (mixture of RL, SL, and PL). Lesion-based response criteria and OS were correlated using stratified multivariable Cox models. The concordance between OS and classifications was measured using the C statistic., Results: Among 10,551 patients with mCRC from 17 first-line studies, varied responses were noted in 51.6% of patients, among whom, 3.3% had RL/PL at 12 weeks. Among patients with RL/SL, 52% had stable disease (SD) by RECIST 1.1, and they had a longer OS (median OS (mOS) = 19.9 months) than those with SL only (mOS = 16.8 months, HR (95% CI) = 0.81 (0.76, 0.85), p < 0.001), although a shorter OS than those with RL only (mOS = 25.8 months, HR (95% CI) = 1.42 (1.32, 1.53), p < 0.001). Among patients with SL/PL, 74% had SD by RECIST 1.1, and they had a longer OS (mOS = 9.0 months) than those with PL only (mOS = 8.0 months, HR (95% CI) = 0.75 (0.57, 0.98), p = 0.040), yet a shorter OS than those with SL only (mOS = 16.8 months, HR (95% CI) = 1.98 (1.80, 2.18), p < 0.001). These associations were consistent across treatment regimen subgroups. The lesion-based response criteria showed slightly higher concordance than RECIST 1.1, although it was not statistically significant., Conclusion: Varied responses at first restaging are common among patients receiving first-line therapy for mCRC. Our lesion-based measurement criteria allowed for better mortality discrimination, which could potentially be informative for treatment decision-making and influence patient outcomes.

Magnetic tunnel junction nanopillar with interfacial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA-MTJ) becomes a promising candidate to build up spin transfer torque magnetic random access memory (STT-MRAM) for the next generation of non-volatile memory as it features low spin transfer switching current, fast speed, high scalability, and easy integration into conventional complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) circuits. However, this device suffers from a number of failure issues, such as large process variation and tunneling barrier breakdown. The large process variation is an intrinsic issue for PMA-MTJ as it is based on the interfacial effects between ultra-thin films with few layers of atoms; the tunneling barrier breakdown is due to the requirement of an ultra-thin tunneling barrier (e.g., <1 nm) to reduce the resistance area for the spin transfer torque switching in the nanopillar. These failure issues limit the research and development of STT-MRAM to widely achieve commercial products. In this paper, we give a full analysis of failure mechanisms for PMA-MTJ and present some eventual solutions from device fabrication to system level integration to optimize the failure issues.

In this study, immobilized COX-2 was successfully constructed through glutaraldehyde-mediated covalent coupling on functional silica gel microspheres. The optimum conditions, properties, and morphological characteristics of the immobilized COX-2 were investigated. The optimal immobilization process was as follows: about 0.02 g of aminated silica gel microspheres was activated by 0.25% GA solution for 6 h and mixed with 5 U of free recombinant COX-2 solution. Then, the mixture was shaken for 8 h at 20 °C. Results showed that the immobilized COX-2 produced by this method exhibited excellent biocatalytic activity, equivalent to that of free COX-2 under the test conditions employed. The best biocatalytic activity of immobilized COX-2 appeared at pH 8.0 and still maintained at about 84% (RSD < 7.39%, n = 3) at pH 10.0. For temperature tolerance, immobilized COX-2 exhibited its maximum biocatalytic activity at 40 °C and about 68% (RSD < 6.99%, n = 3) of the activity was maintained at 60 °C. The immobilized COX-2 retained over 85% (RSD < 7.26%, n = 3) of its initial biocatalytic activity after five cycles, and after 10 days storage, the catalytic activity of immobilized COX-2 still maintained at about 95% (RSD < 3.08%, n = 3). These characteristics ensured the convenient use of the immobilized COX-2 and reduced its production cost.

Nucleobase and nucleoside compounds exist widely in various organisms. An often occurring problem in the discovery of new bioactive compounds from natural products is reisolation of known nucleobase and nucleoside compounds. To resolve this problem, a capillary electrophoresis-high resolution mass spectrometry (CE-HR-MS) method providing both rapid separation and accurate mass full-scan MS data was developed for the first time to screen and dereplicate known nucleobase and nucleoside compounds in crude extracts of natural products. Instrumental parameters were optimized to obtain optimum conditions for CE separation and electrospray ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-TOF/MS) detection. The proposed method was verified to be precise, reproducible, and sensitive. Using this method, known nucleobase and nucleoside compounds in different marine medicinal organisms including Syngnathus acus Linnaeus; Hippocampus japonicus Kaup and Anthopleura lanthogrammica Berkly were successfully observed and identified. This work demonstrates that CE-HR-MS combined with an accurate mass database may be used as a powerful tool for dereplicating known nucleobase and nucleoside compounds in different types of natural products. Rapid dereplication of known nucleobase and nucleoside compounds allows researchers to focus on other leads with greater potential to yield new substances.

Micheliolide (MCL) derivatives with etherification or esterification of the hydroxyl group at the C4 position were synthesized and evaluated for their activities against different acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) cell lines. These derivatives demonstrated comparable activities against AML cell lines HL-60 and doxorubicin resistant cell line HL-60/A. As to multi-drug resistant AML progenitor cells KG-1a, MCL and some of its derivatives maintained significant activities, and only 1.1-2.7 fold activity reductions were observed when compared with the activities against HL-60, while doxorubicin showed 20-fold activity reduction. Our study demonstrated that the C4 hydroxyl group of MCL might not only be a suitable position for structural modifications, but also be a starting point for the design of appropriate molecular probes to explore the specific targets in the progenitor cell line KG-1a.
