Background/Objectives: Physical trauma may cause long-term disabilities. The importance of place of residence in the return to work after injuries is little researched. The primary aims of this study were to describe return to work or school (RTW) at 6 and 12 months after moderate to severe traumatic injury and to investigate demographic and injury-related predictors for RTW with an initial focus on geographic centrality of residency. The secondary aim was to investigate the association between RTW and functioning. Methods: A prospective cohort study conducted at two Norwegian trauma centres. Inclusion criteria: age 18 to 70 years, at least a two-day hospital stay and a New Injury Severity Score > 9. Information about centrality, demographics, injuries, and return to work were collected. Associations between possible predictors and RTW were assessed using binary logistic regression. Results: Of the 223 participants, 68% had returned to work after 6 months and 77% after 12 months. Twelve-month RTW was 89% after thorax/abdomen injuries, 78% after extremity/spine injuries and 73% after head injuries. More central residency was a significant predictor for RTW in univariable but only within the extremity/spine injury subgroup in multivariable analysis. Negative factors were age, having a blue-collar job, number of injuries and rehabilitation complexity. Function 12 months post-injury was associated with RTW in the multivariable model. Conclusions: RTW after one year was high in all major trauma groups. Demographic and injury-related factors were more important predictors of RTW than centrality of residency. This study aimed to compare and evaluate the accuracy of the Demirjian (DE) and the London Atlas (LAE) dental age estimation methods in a Saudi population sample. This retrospective cross-sectional study used digital radiographs from electronic health records in three different dental institutes. In total, 357 male and 354 female (ages 5–15 years) digital orthopantomograms were selected for age estimation. The mean difference between the chronological age (CA) and age estimation method among males and females was 0.03 ± 0.34 and 0.00 ± 0.34, respectively, for LAE and 0.55 ± 0.84 and 0.76 ± 0.51, respectively, for DE. The mean difference between the LAE and DE methods among males and females was 0.52 ± 0.89 and −0.76 ± 0.57, respectively. No statistically significant difference between CA and LAE was found in either males (p = 0.079) or females (p = 0.872). A statistically significant difference was found between CA and DE in both genders (p < 0.001). A statistically significant difference was found between the LAE and DE groups (p < 0.001) in both genders. An overestimation of dental age was observed with DE compared with that in CA. LAE showed higher accuracy than CA, with no clinically significant difference. Although the difference between the LAE and DE methods was insignificant, the LAE method proved to be more accurate. The aging population requires cutting-edge approaches to geriatric care, with digital health technologies playing a crucial part in meeting the challenging demands of healthcare. Current approaches frequently fall short of the goal of providing comprehensive, real-time monitoring and merging contextually complex information for use in the treatment of patients. This paper addresses these limitations by integrating the innovative approaches within the RO-SmartAgeing system and the NeuroPredict platform to boost geriatric-care outcomes. It emphasizes the multifaceted design and development processes of these digital health solutions, emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach and a meticulous choice of decision-making tools. This paper presents the inclusion of decision-making tools, namely the Medical Blackbox and Gaitband, into the RO-SmartAgeing system and the NeuroPredict platform; these tools have been developed for the purpose of gathering complex physiological data and allow for in-depth evaluations of gait patterns and vital health parameters in elderly individuals. The present research emphasizes major breakthroughs in sensing technology and decision-making capabilities, illustrating the manner in which these tools enhance patient outcomes by providing timely, data-driven insights. The results demonstrate that these tailored decision-making tools significantly improve patient outcomes, underscoring the need for such ongoing improvements able to address digital health solutions tailored to the dynamic demands of an increasingly aging population. With the increasing aging of the global population, the efficiency and accuracy of the elderly monitoring system become crucial. In this paper, a sensor layout optimization method, the Fusion Genetic Gray Wolf Optimization (FGGWO) algorithm, is proposed which utilizes the global search capability of Genetic Algorithm (GA) and the local search capability of Gray Wolf Optimization algorithm (GWO) to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the sensor layout in elderly monitoring systems. It does so by optimizing the indoor infrared sensor layout in the elderly monitoring system to improve the efficiency and coverage of the sensor layout in the elderly monitoring system. Test results show that the FGGWO algorithm is superior to the single optimization algorithm in monitoring coverage, accuracy, and system efficiency. In addition, the algorithm is able to effectively avoid the local optimum problem commonly found in traditional methods and to reduce the number of sensors used, while maintaining high monitoring accuracy. The flexibility and adaptability of the algorithm bode well for its potential application in a wide range of intelligent surveillance scenarios. Future research will explore how deep learning techniques can be integrated into the FGGWO algorithm to further enhance the system's adaptive and real-time response capabilities. Background/Objectives: Chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) is a common disease of growing significance due to the increasing use of antithrombotic drugs and population aging. There exists conflicting observational evidence that previous treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors reduces the rate of cSDH recurrence. This study assesses the hypothesis that ACE inhibitors may affect recurrence rates by altering hematoma membrane formation. Methods: All patients with chronic subdural hematoma who were operated upon in a single university hospital between 2015 and 2020 were considered for inclusion. Hematomas were classified according to their structural appearance in computed tomography (CT) imaging into one of eight subtypes. Patients' own medication, prior to hospitalization for cSDH treatment, was noted, and the use of ACI-inhibitors was identified. Results: Of the included 398 patients, 142 (35.9%) were treated with ACE inhibitors before admission for cSDH treatment. Of these, 115 patients (81.0%) received ramipril, 13 received patients lisinopril (11.3%), and 11 patients (9.6%) received enalapril. Reflecting cardiovascular comorbidity, patients on ACE inhibitors were more often simultaneously treated with antithrombotics (63.4% vs. 42.6%; p ≤ 0.001). Hematomas with homogenous hypodense (OR 11.739, 95%CI 2.570 to 53.612; p = 0.001), homogenous isodense (OR 12.204, 95%CI 2.669 to 55.798; p < 0.001), and homogenous hyperdense (OR 9.472, 95%CI 1.718 to 52.217; p < 0.001) architectures, as well as the prior use of ACE inhibitors (OR 2.026, 95%CI 1.214 to 3.384; p = 0.007), were independently associated with cSDH recurrence. Conclusions: Once corrected for hematoma architecture, type of surgery, and use of antithrombotic medication, preoperative use of ACE inhibitors was associated with a twofold increase in the likelihood of hematoma recurrence. The objective of this study has been to diagnose the demographic situation of older people in municipalities that belong to the Polish National Cittaslow Network, and to assess their potential for developing a local silver economy. The study covered all 36 municipalities that compose the Polish National Cittaslow Network. The following research methods were employed: a critical review of the literature, analysis of secondary data, including strategic development planning documents, and quantitative methods, including a method of grouping objects on the basis of a synthetic variable. The study has demonstrated that nearly all Cittaslow municipalities experienced a decrease in population during the analyzed period, which coincided with a growing share of the non-working-age population. This attests to the ongoing process of population aging. A significant challenge that the analyzed municipalities faced was determined to be the growing demographic burden. Based on a synthetic indicator of the potential for silver economy development, the municipalities were divided into five classes: very high, high, medium, low, and very low potential. Interestingly, most of the municipalities are now distinguished as having medium, low, or very low potential for the development of the silver economy. The analysis presented in this article contributes to further research on factors and tools shaping a development policy that may influence the development of the silver economy in the Cittaslow municipalities of Poland and the world. Due to the increasing severity of aging populations in modern society, the accurate and timely identification of, and responses to, sudden abnormal behaviors of the elderly have become an urgent and important issue. In the current research on computer vision-based abnormal behavior recognition, most algorithms have shown poor generalization and recognition abilities in practical applications, as well as issues with recognizing single actions. To address these problems, an MSCS–DenseNet–LSTM model based on a multi-scale attention mechanism is proposed. This model integrates the MSCS (Multi-Scale Convolutional Structure) module into the initial convolutional layer of the DenseNet model to form a multi-scale convolution structure. It introduces the improved Inception X module into the Dense Block to form an Inception Dense structure, and gradually performs feature fusion through each Dense Block module. The CBAM attention mechanism module is added to the dual-layer LSTM to enhance the model's generalization ability while ensuring the accurate recognition of abnormal actions. Furthermore, to address the issue of single-action abnormal behavior datasets, the RGB image dataset RIDS (RGB image dataset) and the contour image dataset CIDS (contour image dataset) containing various abnormal behaviors were constructed. The experimental results validate that the proposed MSCS–DenseNet–LSTM model achieved an accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of 98.80%, 98.75%, and 98.82% on the two datasets, and 98.30%, 98.28%, and 98.38%, respectively. Background/Objectives: Understanding sex-based differences in cardiovascular outcomes is paramount to improving clinical outcomes. Surgery is an aggressive but effective therapy for ascending aortic aneurysm. We sought to determine if being a woman is a risk factor for long-term mortality after this surgery. We compared their life expectancy with a general population of the same age, sex, year, and region. Methods: We compared men and women undergoing AAA surgery at our institution from 2000 to 2019. After balancing the population with propensity score (PS) matching, we compared long-term mortality control with a Cox regression. We determined the RS using the Ederer II method and compared it to a healthy reference population of the same age, sex, and region. Results: From 2000 to 2019, 232 women and 506 men underwent ascending aortic aneurysm surgery. After a mean follow-up of 51.5 ± 34.5 months, sex was not an independent risk factor for long-term mortality in the multivariable analysis [HR: 0.68 (95% CI 0.43–1.07, p = 0.23)]. Matching by baseline characteristics, 196 pairs were analyzed with no differences regarding mortality in the Cox regression [HR: 1.11 (95% CI 0.65–1.9, p = 0.23)]. Men and women who survived the postoperative period presented a relative survival of 100.3% (95% CI 97.4–101%) and 100.3% (95% CI 98.9–101.1%), respectively, similar to the reference population without the disease. Conclusions: For patients undergoing AAA surgery, sex was not an independent predictor of mortality. Men and women who survived the postoperative period presented a similar life expectancy to that of the reference population (people free from the disease of the same age, sex, year, and region). The global population aging poses new challenges in allocating care facilities for the elderly. This demographic trend also influences economic development and the quality of urban life. However, current research focuses on the supply of elderly care facilities and primarily uses administrative divisions as a scale, resulting in low spatiotemporal sensitivity in evaluating the spatial equilibrium of elderly care facilities (SEECF). The relationship between the SEECF and economic development is not clear. In response to these problems, we proposed a spatial equilibrium model of elderly care facilities with high spatiotemporal sensitivity (SEM-HSTS) and explored the spatiotemporal associations between the SEECF and economic development. Considering the spatial accessibility rate of elderly care services (SARecs) and the spatiotemporal supply–demand ratio for elderly care services (STSDRecs), two types of supply–demand relationship factors were constructed. Then, a spatiotemporal accessibility of medical services (STAms) factor was obtained based on a modified two-step floating catchment area (M2SFCA) method. On this basis, the SEM-HSTS was constructed based on the theory of coordinated development. Further, a panel threshold model was employed to evaluate the influence relationships among population aging, SEECF, and gross domestic product (GDP) in different phases. Finally, spatial autocorrelation and Geodetector explored the spatial associations between SEECF and GDP across complex urban land use categories (ULUC). The experimental results at a 100-m grid scale showed that the SEM-HSTS exhibited higher spatiotemporal heterogeneity than the classical accessibility method, with elevated spatiotemporal sensitivity. Effectively identified various spatial imbalances, such as undersupply and resource waste. The panel model captured phased relationship changes, showing that SEECF had inhibitory and promotional effects on GDP in pre- and post-aging societies, with stronger effects as balance approached. Moreover, the combined interaction of ULUC and GDP had a more significant influence on SEECF than any individual factor, with GDP exerting a more significant influence. Multimorbidity refers to the presence of two or more chronic diseases and is associated with adverse outcomes for patients. Factors such as an ageing population have contributed to a rise in prevalence of multimorbidity globally; however, multimorbidity is often neglected in clinical guidelines. This is largely because patients with multimorbidity are systematically excluded from clinical trials. Accordingly, there is an urgent need to develop novel biomarkers and methods of prognostication for this cohort of patients. The hallmarks of ageing are now thought to potentiate the pathogenesis of multimorbidity. MicroRNAs are small, regulatory, noncoding RNAs which have been implicated in the pathogenesis and prognostication of numerous chronic diseases; there is a substantial body of evidence now implicating microRNA dysregulation with the different hallmarks of ageing in the aetiology of chronic diseases. This article proposes using the hallmarks of ageing as a framework to develop a panel of microRNAs to assess the prognostic burden of multimorbidity. This putative molecular morbidity score would have many potential applications, including assessing the efficacy of clinical interventions, informing clinical decision making and facilitating wider inclusion of patients with multimorbidity in clinical trials. In Japan, the number of power wheelchair users is increasing as the country becomes an aging society. This trend is expected to continue in the future. Electric wheelchairs currently on the market include (1) bar-handle-type power wheelchairs for older users and (2) joystick-type power wheelchairs that change direction by operating a joystick. When such electric wheelchairs are used outdoors, the problem is curb-climbing at the boundary between the roadway and the sidewalk. It would be difficult for a wheelchair with a small front wheel diameter of 200 mm to overcome a curb height of 50 mm. Therefore, users are forced to take a detour or drive on the street to avoid the curb step. One of the most effective ways to solve this problem is to increase the wheel diameter. However, larger wheels make it more difficult for users to get in and out of the wheelchair. In addition, there are problems such as an increased footprint when turning, which makes the wheelchairs difficult to use on narrow streets. In this paper, using a joystick-type six-wheel electric wheelchair as an example, we examined the mechanism by which an electric wheelchair can overcome curb climbing and consider improvements to the chassis with a method that does not rely on increasing the wheel diameter. The potential use of large language models (LLMs) in healthcare robotics can help address the significant demand put on healthcare systems around the world with respect to an aging demographic and a shortage of healthcare professionals. Even though LLMs have already been integrated into medicine to assist both clinicians and patients, the integration of LLMs within healthcare robots has not yet been explored for clinical settings. In this perspective paper, we investigate the groundbreaking developments in robotics and LLMs to uniquely identify the needed system requirements for designing health-specific LLM-based robots in terms of multi-modal communication through human–robot interactions (HRIs), semantic reasoning, and task planning. The growth in the prevalence of dementias is associated with a phenomenon that challenges the 21st century, population aging. Dementias require physical and mental effort on the part of caregivers, making it difficult to promote controlled and active care. This review aims to explore the usability and integration of wearable devices designed to measure the daily activities of elderly people with dementia. A survey was carried out in the following databases: LILACS, Science Direct and PubMed, between 2018 and 2024 and the methodologies as well as the selection criteria are briefly described. A total of 27 articles were included in the review that met the inclusion criteria and answered the research question. As the main conclusions, the various monitoring measurements and interaction aspects are critically important, demonstrating their significant contributions to controlled, adequate and active monitoring, despite the incomplete compliance with the key aspects which could guarantee solutions economically accessible to institutions or other organizations through the application of the design requirements. Future research should not only focus on the development wearable devices that follow the essential requirements but also on further studying the needs and adversities that elderly people with dementia face as a pillar for the development of a feasible device. In the current context of global resource constraints and sustainable development, the efficient utilization of resources in the Yellow River basin, as one of China's main economic regions, is particularly important. Based on the Super-SBM model with undesirable outputs, we analyze the spatial–temporal evolution of resource utilization efficiency in the Yellow River basin during 2000–2020 and investigate the impact of population aging on it using a fixed effects regression model and spatial Durbin model. The resource utilization efficiency has shown an overall upward trend in the Yellow River basin, which never realizes the DEA efficiency. There remains considerable room for efficiency improvement. There is an obvious spatial heterogeneity in resource utilization efficiency, presenting a spatial pattern of "leading downstream, intermediate midstream and lagging upstream". Resource utilization efficiency has a high redundancy rate in terms of environmental pollution output, water resource input, science and education input in the Yellow River basin. Currently, excessive resource consumption and excessive pollutant emissions are the main causes of efficiency loss. Population aging not only promotes regional resource utilization efficiency but also has a significant positive spatial spillover effect in neighboring regions. Population aging's impact shows heterogeneity, with a significant promoting impact on resource-based cities and other cities, while its promoting impact on provincial capital cities is not significant. The ageing of the population needs the automation of patient monitoring. The objective of this is twofold: to improve care and reduce costs. Frailty, as a state of increased vulnerability resulting from several diseases, can be seen as a pandemic for older people. One of the most common detection tests is gait speed. This article compares the gait speed measured outdoors using smartphones with that measured using manual tests conducted in medical centres. In the experiments, the walking speed was measured over a straight path of 80 m. Additionally, the speed was measured over 2.4 m in the middle of the path, given that this is the minimum distance used in medical frailty tests. To eliminate external factors, the participants were healthy individuals, the weather was good, and the path was flat and free of obstacles. The results obtained are promising. The measurements taken with common smartphones over a straight path of 80 m are within the same order of error as those observed in the manual tests conducted by practitioners. This research addresses the rapid aging phenomenon prevalent in Asian societies, which has led to a significant increase in elderly individuals relocating to nursing homes due to health-related issues. This trend has resulted in social isolation and loneliness among the elderly, contributing to physical and mental ailments such as hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, as highlighted by the World Health Organization (WHO). To mitigate these issues, the research proposes leveraging technology, specifically the integration of robotics, to alleviate the caregiver shortage and enhance human interaction for the elderly. The novel approach involves developing a social robot designed to bridge the gap between humans and machines, combining knowledge from embedded systems, robotics, and essential soft skills for effective interaction. The authors found that this technological solution holds promise in addressing the caregiver shortage and improving the well-being of elderly individuals by reducing their sense of isolation, fostering better mental and physical health outcomes, and potentially transforming the landscape of elderly care through innovative technological applications. The aging of the rural population is one of the important social problems facing China and the world. To provide strategic support for coping with the challenges brought by an aging society, this study examined the impact of aging of the rural population on agricultural green total factor productivity (AGTFP) and the mechanism of transmission between them, based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2000 to 2022. The results showed that, first, the aging of the rural population had a negative inhibitory effect on AGTFP, a conclusion that remained valid after a series of robustness tests. Second, the heterogeneity analysis showed that the aging of the rural population in western China had a significant negative impact on AGTFP, while the effect was less significant in eastern and central regions. The intensity of environmental regulation will increase the negative impact of an aging rural population on AGTFP. Third, the analysis of the mechanism showed that the aging of the rural population had a negative impact on AGTFP by inhibiting labor productivity, scientific research and innovation, and farmland transfer. In this study, we employ 'hidden workers' as a key concept to integrate the three vulnerable subgroups of aging workers: underemployed, unemployed, and discouraged workers. (1) Background: The challenges faced by underemployed, unemployed, and discouraged workers in the older population are complex. It would be beneficial to visualize the intellectual landscape of these three distinct groups in aging populations to understand which aspects have been highlighted by various disciplines and where gaps exist. (2) Method: Through a scientometric analysis of more than 50 years of research, this study identified the size, scope, and structure of knowledge on hidden workers in an aging population using 2831 articles collected from the Web of Science database in January 2024. (3) Results: Indeed, the multidisciplinary nature of hidden workers goes beyond welfare and labor economics and involves issues such as health, occupational science, behavior change, policy interventions, and circles around the keyword of unemployment. Keyword co-occurrence and co-citation analysis confirm that the spectrum of research on hidden workers is being carried out distinctly within distinct disciplines across the broader aging research horizon. (4) Conclusions: The relatively scattered and uneven intellectual, conceptual, and social landscape of research on hidden workers in aging populations evidently falls short of providing concerted policy recommendations for the population group. Architectural design and urban renewal that adapt to an ageing society and are localized are urgent needs around the world. On the other hand, the concept of grey space, which refers to transitional space and is an in-between concept, has been proposed since the 1980s, but few studies have further explored its hierarchy, fluidity, and relationship with regional characteristics. Therefore, this study hopes to use the fluidity of the grey space hierarchy to solve the problem of design that adapts to an ageing society and preserves regional characteristics. This study mainly focuses on the spatial characteristics of Beitou Heart Village, summarizes five grey space hierarchies and fluidity modes, and finally designs social housing for young and old cohabitation in a bottom-up manner based on them, restoring local unique neighborhood care and multi-ethnic communication methods. There are three innovations in this study: (1) defining the division method of the grey space hierarchy; (2) exploring the richness and scalability of the grey space hierarchy in terms of fluidity; (3) using the grey space hierarchy to achieve neighborhood care and multi-ethnic communication, making social housing for urban renewal more people-oriented and retaining spatial regional characteristics. This study gives the first data on the body and beak morphometric characteristics, age, and genetic structure of neon flying squid, a rarely caught cephalopod in the Adriatic Sea. We identified specimens as recently resurrected Ommastrephes caroli species using two mitochondrial markers, 16S ribosomal RNA gene and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene. Overall, 23 juveniles (3 females, 3 males, and 17 unsexed), with a dorsal mantle range of 65–152 mm, were caught in September 2020 in the waters of the Korčula Channel, island of Palagruža, and island of Jabuka, thus providing the most abundant sample of this species in the Mediterranean waters. The length–weight relationship showed an isometric growth. The results of the beak/length regressions suggest hood length is a useful characteristic for biomass estimation studies, as it showed a good linear fit to the dorsal mantle length. Statolith growth increments were easily visible and statolith microstructure analysis was successfully used to determine the age of 22 individuals. The estimated age ranged from 36 to 64 days (mean = 48 days). The back-calculation analysis showed that the squid hatched during July and August 2020, indicating that O. caroli spawns during the warmer, summertime period. Considering the size and age of the caught individuals, the Adriatic Sea could represent a potential feeding ground for this species. The genetic structure analyses indicate the existence of separate Atlantic and Mediterranean/Adriatic subclusters; however, this warrants further investigation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Demographic transition and environmental governance are the most prominent focal points of global concern in the 21st century. We quantitatively evaluate the distinct carbon emission impacts of the global demographic transition by regression models based on C–D production function. Our study highlights that while demographic transition boosts per capita economic growth, it adversely affects overall economic output and aggregate economic growth, highlighting significant reductions in carbon emissions as a result of these demographic changes. However, it has a negative contribution to overall economic output and economic growth. Meanwhile, demographic transition eventually reduces carbon emissions to some extent. The relationship between population urbanization and carbon emissions mainly conforms to an inverted U-shaped curve, while some of it does to a linear growth pattern. However, the relationship between population aging and carbon emissions mainly conforms to an inverted U-shaped pattern. Soccer is a sport with a high incidence of injuries. The most common injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee has undergone a sprain, strain, or partial or total rupture. Besides fitness factors (e.g., proprioception, balance and strength capabilities), a principal cause of ACL injuries is sport shoes and playing surfaces. Especially with the emergence of artificial surfaces (rubbers, turfs, concrete, asphalt, red turf), the ACL injuries dramatically increase. The cost of ACL injuries is high both in terms of career termination and in social and economic costs. Thus, it is necessary to understand the impact of sport shoes and playing surfaces on the ACL and how it can be mitigated. The present literature review followed the PRISMA methodology to identify the major biomechanical factors influencing the behavior of surfaces and shoes in relation to the ACL damage. Fifty-eight papers were identified. After reviewing the mechanism of injuries, we identified several distinct factors: type of outsole and mechanical arrangement of the outsoles; shear forces; characteristics of artificial turf surfaces; effect of weather on artificial surface aging and change in mechanical characteristics; outsole/ground interface; and the frictional, tractional and rotational forces in the pathogenesis of ACL injuries in soccer. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the cerebrovascular disease with the highest disability and mortality rates, causing severe damage to the health of patients and imposing a significant socioeconomic burden. Aging stands as a foremost risk factor for ICH, with a significant escalation in ICH incidence within the elderly demographic, highlighting a close association between ICH and aging. In recent years, with the acceleration of the "aging society" trend, exploring the intricate relationship between aging and ICH has become increasingly urgent and worthy of in-depth attention. We have summarized the characteristics of ICH in the elderly, reviewing how aging influences the onset and development of ICH by examining its etiology and the mechanisms of damage via ICH. Additionally, we explored the potential impacts of ICH on accelerated aging, including its effects on cognitive abilities, quality of life, and lifespan. Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are a diverse group of tumors with varying clinical behaviors. Their incidence has risen due to increased awareness, improved diagnostics, and aging populations. The 2019 World Health Organization classification emphasizes integrating radiology and histopathology to characterize NENs and create personalized treatment plans. Imaging methods like CT, MRI, and PET/CT are crucial for detection, staging, treatment planning, and monitoring, but each of them poses different interpretative challenges and none are immune to pitfalls. The syndrome of heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) makes up about half of the HF population. The HF mechanisms in these patients are varied and not fully understood. In addition, the term "diastolic HF" was switched to HFpEF because of difficulties in measuring the left ventricular (LV) diastolic performance. In the late stages, HFpEF carries a prognosis that is as bad as or worse than that of HFrEF. Hence, it is important to recognize LV diastolic impairment at an earlier stage so that the causal mechanisms, if any, can be treated to retard its progression. Despite the availability of numerous disease-modifying agents for HFrEF, there are hardly any available treatments for HFpEF. With our aging population, there will be an epidemic of HFpEF and hence this entity needs attention and respect. In this paper, we review the fundamental mechanisms of HFpEF, the physiology of LV filling and how LV diastolic function can be comprehensively measured. Thailand's rapid population aging and reliance on family-based long-term care requires research into disparities in family caregiver burden. Since the type of residence matters to the caregiving outcome, this research aimed to examine the difference in caregiver burden between residents of private housing estates and traditional village communities. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 1276 family caregivers of community-dwelling Thai older adults, in Chiang Mai province, Thailand. The caregiver burden was examined using the Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI), and the care recipients' dependency status was examined using Barthel's Activity of Daily Living (ADL). Descriptive analysis, multivariate analysis of variance test, and multiple logistic regression analysis were performed. Family caregivers living in a traditional village community were 1.607 times more likely to experience emotional burden (adj. OR 1.607, 95% CI: 1.049, 2.462) and 2.743 times more likely to experience overall caregiver burden (adj. OR: 1.163, 95% CI: 1.163, 6.471) compared to those in the private housing estate group. Our findings showed significant differences in caregiver burden based on residential area, contributing with insights to evidence-based policies, interventions, and programs to minimize disparities and promote family caregivers' health and well-being. Cartilage degeneration is a characteristic of osteoarthritis (OA), which is often observed in aging populations. This degeneration is due to the breakdown of articular cartilage (AC) mechanical and tribological properties primarily attributed to lubrication failure. Understanding the reasons behind these failures and identifying potential solutions could have significant economic and societal implications, ultimately enhancing quality of life. This review provides an overview of developments in the field of AC, focusing on its mechanical and tribological properties. The emphasis is on the role of lubrication in degraded AC, offering insights into its structure and function relationship. Further, it explores the fundamental connection between AC mechano-tribological properties and the advancement of its degradation and puts forth recommendations for strategies to boost its lubrication efficiency. The rapid growth of the elderly population is a major global demographic and social issue. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of pension plans and social security programmes for this population in developing countries, which has severe consequences for their quality of life and well-being. In this article, we aim to better understand the pension systems in developing country contexts such as Ghana, Pakistan, and Myanmar by reviewing official government materials (for example, pension reports) and the published literature to suggest relevant policy recommendations. We observed several policy implementation gaps and inequities in pension schemes for older people, specifically for informal and private sector workers. Considering the size of formal versus informal economies and the level of development index of each country, we suggest a wide variety of options for pension policies, financing, designing cash benefits, and pension payments to cover all older citizens. This article addresses the unmet needs of the elderly and their wider economic sustainability to ensure social justice and resource utilisation. Governments in developing countries should embrace and establish unique, inclusive, and friendly policies encompassing the informal sector to warrant older adults' functional and social well-being with dignity and honour. Syntheticdata generation methods are used to transform the original data into privacy-compliant synthetic copies (twin data). With our proposed approach, synthetic data can be simulated in the same size as the input data or in any size, and in the case of finite populations, even the entire population can be simulated. The proposed XGBoost-based method is compared with known model-based approaches to generate synthetic data using a complex survey data set. The XGBoost method shows strong performance, especially with synthetic categorical variables, and outperforms other tested methods. Furthermore, the structure and relationship between variables are well preserved. The tuning of the parameters is performed automatically by a modified k-fold cross-validation. If exact population margins are known, e.g., cross-tabulated population counts on age class, gender and region, the synthetic data must be calibrated to those known population margins. For this purpose, we have implemented a simulated annealing algorithm that is able to use multiple population margins simultaneously to post-calibrate a synthetic population. The algorithm is, thus, able to calibrate simulated population data containing cluster and individual information, e.g., about persons in households, at both person and household level. Purpose: To analyse the association of masticatory performance and oral health-related quality of life in a representative population of individuals residing in communities in Switzerland aged ≥ 45 years. Materials and Methods: In total, 100 subjects completed two dedicated and validated questionnaires on their demographic data and the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index. A mixing ability test was performed for assessing masticatory performance. The qualitative analysis of the test was performed by categorizing the images into five categories, while the quantitative analysis was performed via a validated custom-made software. Results: Sixty-six samples could be analysed. Participants younger than 65 years of age showed significantly less frequent chewing deficiencies (17%) compared to those 65 years and older (50%, p < 0.01). However, retired participants had chewing deficiencies significantly more frequently (8%) compared to workers (51%, p < 0.01). A statistically significant positive association of having chewing deficiency was found between employment status (p < 0.01) and the presence of restorations (p = 0.04), while GOHAI did not show any statistically significant association. Overall, the enrolled subjects displayed moderate chewing function. Masticatory performance was positively associated with the number of present restorations. Conclusions: The enrolled subjects residing in communities in Switzerland aged ≥ 45 years displayed moderate chewing function. Wrist injuries, driven by factors such as an aging population and the popularity of high-impact sports, have become increasingly prevalent. In response, this study focuses on developing a serious game for wrist injury rehabilitation within a virtual environment, aiming to enhance motivation and therapeutic adherence while highlighting the potential of virtual rehabilitation. Extensive literature research and the involvement of five experts during the game's design led to the creation of "WristBreakout", which successfully integrated 13 out of 15 recommended movements into gameplay. In addition, the technical feasibility of the VR headset "MetaQuest" within the domain of wrist rehabilitation was shown. A preliminary evaluation with six healthy participants showed positive results in terms of usability and acceptance (SUS average was 69; UES categories were between 3.97 and 4.77). Previous research predicts an increasing financial deficit in Algeria's PAYG retirement system, mainly due to rapid population aging, and parametric adjustments will be insufficient to alleviate this imbalance. Mitigating the effects of population aging will necessitate further intervention. In this work, we analyze how capping contributed salaries can help to mitigate the effects of population aging on the retirement system. Under generous Pay-As-You-Go schemes, promised pension payouts far exceed contributions. Thus, restricting contributions is expected to reduce the burden of future benefits by accepting lower contributions today, while directing public subsidies to low-income individuals. We simulate the future evolution of the financial balance of Algeria's retirement system under various contributable salary caps versus various scenarios of environmental evolution and potential parametric reform actions. With the aging of China's population, the problem of pension security has become more and more prominent, and whether delayed retirement can effectively alleviate the pension fund gap and ensure the sustainability of the pension fund has become the focus of social concern. This study predicts the income and expenditure of urban workers' basic pension insurance fund from 2021 to 2050 by constructing an actuarial model of pension insurance fund income and expenditure, and simulates the effect of delayed retirement policy. The prediction results show that under the existing system, the basic pension insurance fund for urban workers will have a shortfall for the first time in 2027, and the shortfall will expand year by year. Compared with the non-implementation of delayed retirement policy, the simulation of the implementation of a delayed retirement program delayed the emergence of the fund gap until 2029, and the forecast period of the pension fund gap significantly narrowed, indicating that delayed retirement policy has a certain positive impact on alleviating the pressure of pension payments, but delayed retirement cannot completely eliminate the pension fund gap. In view of this, this paper suggests that a progressive and flexible delayed retirement policy should be introduced as soon as possible to better adapt to the needs of different groups. At the same time, differentiated policies should be formulated for different groups of people and a pension incentive mechanism for delayed retirement should be set up to improve public acceptance of delayed retirement policy. In addition, delayed retirement policy should be combined with other measures, such as lowering the corporate contribution rate and enhancing the value-added capacity of the pension fund, so as to ensure the sustainability of the pension fund. Although China's grain production has reached nineteen consecutive harvests, the uncertainty of the current domestic and international environment has put more pressure on further increasing grain production in the future. For the past few years, agricultural socialization services have been crucial in boosting grain production and farmers' revenue by addressing the issue of land cultivation and farming methods. In this regard, the question of whether and how agricultural socialized services may resolve the present grain production conundrum is extremely practical. Therefore, the study employs the China Rural Revitalization Survey data of 3709 households. Based on the 2SLS model, stepwise regression method, and moderated effects model, it creatively takes into account a variety of agricultural production segments, investigates the mechanism of services on grain production from the standpoint of improved production efficiency and plot concentration, and further examines the effects of aging populations and regional variations in grain production areas. The study found the following: (1) The average proportion of grain production area of farmers in the sample is 49%, and 42% of farmers have purchased agricultural socialization services. (2) Agricultural socialization services can significantly promote farmers' grain cultivation behavior by facilitating connected transfers in and inhibiting connected transfers out to take advantage of plot concentration, and boosting the use of agricultural machines to enhance output efficiency. (3) The aging of the agricultural population will, to a certain extent, strengthen the promoting effect of agricultural socialization services on grain cultivation. Agricultural socialization services affect grain cultivation more in main grain-producing areas. Therefore, emphasizing the role of agricultural socialization services in accelerating the shift to moderate-scale operations, decreasing the non-grain component of the planting structure, and promoting the implementation of policies tailored to actual production needs are important steps to safeguard the production capacity of grain in different regions. COVID-19 vaccines represent effective public health measures in contrasting the pandemic worldwide. However, protection at the individual-level, which is of crucial importance from an occupational health perspective, is commonly assessed by a serological correlate of protection (CoP) for SARS-CoV-2, which has not yet been determined. The emergence of variants of concern (VOCs) that have shown high rates of breakthrough infections has further complicated the understanding of immune protection against infection. To define a potential serological correlate of protection induced by the COVID-19 vaccination, a systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to summarize the evidence concerning the binding antibody concentration corresponding to a protective effect. Eighteen and four studies were included in the qualitative and quantitative analyses, respectively. The protection against infection was shown for anti-receptor-binding domain (RBD) titers ranging from 154 to 168.2 binding antibody units (BAU)/mL during the pre-Omicron period, while ranging from 1235 to 3035 BAU/mL in the Omicron period. Pooling the results from the studies concerning anti-RBD and anti-Spike antibody titer, we found a mean of 1341.5 BAU/mL and 1400.1 BAU/mL, respectively. These findings suggest that although a fixed serological threshold corresponding to protection against different SARS-CoV-2 variants is not yet definable, higher binding antibody concentrations are associated with increased protective effects. China has fully become an aging society, and the scientific response to population aging has become a major task that the country must face in the future. Research on population aging in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration (CCUA) can provide a scientific basis for future population management in the CCUA. This paper applies spatial autocorrelation, geodetection, and other methods to analyze the temporal and spatial pattern of population aging and its driving factors in the CCUA from 2000 to 2020, taking districts (counties) as the basic unit and combining them with the spatial structure of the urban agglomeration. The results show that: ① in the time dimension, the population aging in CCUA has gone through the evolution process of "mild–moderate–heavy"; in the spatial dimension, the influence of the urban agglomeration's development planning axes on the spatial differentiation of the aging population has become more and more prominent. ② The aging level has a strong spatial correlation, and with time, the spatial correlation has changed from weak to strong, and the spatial difference has increased. The dual core city shows a typical spatial pattern of a decreasing aging level in the core area and an increasing aging level in the peripheral area, and the heavily aging area is spreading along the axis. ③ The overall aging speed is high, and the aging speeds of the core cities and node cities are lower than those of other regions. There is a clearer positive correlation between the aging level and the speed of aging, showing the characteristic of "the older the faster". ④ Endogenous factors such as the aging level and fertility level at the beginning of the period have a significant determining power on the change in the aging level, while exogenous factors such as the in-migration rate and the out-migration rate have a persistent determining power on the urban agglomerations and key areas (core cities, central cities, main axes of development, city belts, and dense urban areas). The concept of active aging has become central to the public debate in many Western countries, given the increasing aging of the population and the future challenges associated with it. This phenomenon is tightly intertwined with choices regarding the retirement period, which can be postponed for different reasons by individuals in a society. The purpose of this paper is to understand the personal and family characteristics that influence future choices about retirement date in Italy. Utilizing data provided by the Bank of Italy in the Survey on Household Income and Wealth (SHIW), a logistic regression is performed to observe the impact of different covariates on the hypothesized retirement date of individuals close to retirement, i.e., over the age of 50 who are still in working status. The results show that the decision to delay retirement has increased in recent years, and is influenced by personal (e.g., matrimonial status), work, and economic factors. The United Nations' 2022 World Population Prospects suggests the global population will reach 10 billion people in 2058 and will peak in 2086. Aggregated data do not account for regional and age-group realities, which draw a more pressing picture. We analyze the World Population Prospects 2022 data according to age groups and regions and show that population peaks are going to occur sooner in some regions of the world than others, and the working-age population will peak on average 10 to 20 years before the overall population peaks. Africa is the only world region expected to continue to experience significant population growth. The population will be increasingly made up of larger proportions of older ages than younger, thereby shifting the dependency ratio. Reflections on the implications of an aging and shrinking population on policy regarding fertility, aging, migration, urban planning and economic development are needed. Agricultural cropping structure is related to the quality of the agricultural supply system and is a key element of the structural reform of the agricultural supply side. Based on China's provincial panel data from 2000 to 2021, this paper empirically examines the impact and mechanism of rural population aging on the planting structure of food and cash crops by using a two-way fixed-effects model, which fills the gap in the research on the impact mechanism of the rural population aging on agricultural planting structure. The conclusions of the study show that: as the aging of the rural population deepens, the proportion of food crops planted will further increase, while the proportion of cash crops planted will decrease; agricultural mechanization will promote the further increase of the proportion of food crops planted while the proportion of cash crops planted will decrease in the deepening of the aging of rural population; the aging of the rural population has a more significant impact on the structure of agricultural planting in the eastern region and does not have a significant impact on the central and western provinces. Background: Distal surface caries (DSC) has been associated with partially erupted impacted third molars. The purpose of this study was to compare the rates of DSC between populations that had undergone different third molar management strategies. Methods: Radiographs that had been taken during routine examinations of 1012, 251 and 250 patients in Manchester, Bucharest and Amsterdam, respectively, were evaluated. The following parameters were assessed: the state of the distal surface in the second mandibular molar, loss of periodontal support, impaction type of the third molar, contact point localization, and patients' genders, ages and their cumulative history of dental health. Results: The rate of DSC in the second mandibular molar was 63.9%, 19.9% and 26.0% in the Manchester, Bucharest and Amsterdam populations, respectively. A loss of lamina dura of ≥2 mm, increased percentages of decayed, missing or filled teeth and male gender were risk factors in all three populations. All assessed parameters apart from the site of the mandible reached statistical significance in the Manchester sample (p < 0.001). The DSC rate was cumulative with increasing age in the Manchester population, in which third molars were strategically retained. Conclusions: The UK population, treated according to strict guidelines that limit the removal of third molars, had a statistically significant higher DSC prevalence rate (p < 0.001) than the Romanian or Dutch populations. Microalgae have been reported to be excellent producers of bioactive molecules. Lutein is a pigment reported to have various beneficial effects for humans, and especially for eye well-being. In the current review, we summarize various methods that have been developed to optimize its extraction and bioactivities reported for human health. Several protective effects have been reported for lutein, including antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and cardioprotective activity. This review also reports attempts to increase lutein production by microalgae by changing culturing parameters or by using pilot-scale systems. Genetic engineering lutein production is also discussed. Considering the increasing aging of the worldwide population will create an increased need for lutein, a viable economic and eco-sustainable method to produce lutein is needed to face this market demand. Demographic change in aging societies makes it urgent to ask how care can be understood as a social task. This is where the concept of caring communities comes in, which understands care as a task of many, indeed, of society as a whole, and aims to offer mutual care in communities. While the concept has been described in theory many times, empirical studies are rare. In pluralistic Western societies, the church as an institution is becoming less important while spirituality and spiritual needs are increasing in prominence. These processes of secularization run parallel to a growing interest in spirituality and an individualization of religion. Nonetheless, church congregations have always offered a place of mutual care and lived religion that functions as a network and social resource. So far, the role of spirituality in church-related caring communities has not been sufficiently addressed. In an exploratory qualitative study of three church-related caring communities in Germany, we focus on the target group of caring relatives, of whom we interviewed nine. The results show that church-related caring communities provide important spiritual resources and rely on the basis of shared values that are closely connected to Christian convictions. However, the different understandings of care and spirituality point to the relevance of discussing the often preliminary motives and values of care. Especially in plural societies, the discourse on plural values for mutual care is important and can form a basis for caring practices such as spiritual and pastoral care. Opportunities and places to discuss and debate different and shared values underlining care practices are necessary. Herein, we explored the overall association between metal mixtures and lung functions in populations of varying ages and the relationship among the associated components. The 2007–2012 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data of 4382 American participants was analyzed, and generalized linear, elastic net, quantile g–computation, and Bayesian kernel machine regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between exposure to the metal mixture and lung function at various ages. The results of barium exposure at distinct stages revealed that children and adolescents exhibited greater lung function changes than those in adults and the elderly. Additionally, compared with children and adolescents, cadmium– and arsenic–containing metabolites contributed to nonconductive lung function changes in adults and the elderly exposed to metal mixtures. The results showed that the effects of exposure to metal mixtures on lung function in children and adolescents were predominantly caused by lead and barium. This study proposes a discrete-time mathematical model to investigate the impact of selective harvesting on the dynamics of a population with age and sex structures. The model assumes that the birth rate depends on the sex ratio of the population and the number of breeding pairs. The growth rate is regulated by limiting juvenile survival, where an increase in population size decreases the survival of immature individuals. We consider the following selective proportional exploitation: harvesting of juveniles and harvesting of mature males. Depending on the values of population parameters, selective harvesting can lead to the stabilization of population dynamics by dampening oscillations or the emergence and amplification of fluctuations in population size. The model reveals multistability domains in which different dynamic modes coexist, and variations in initial conditions can lead to changes in dynamic modes. Depending on the values of the population parameters, the proposed models with harvest reveal the hydra effect, indicating an increase in the equilibrium abundance of the exploited group after reproduction but before harvesting, with an increase in the harvesting rate. Population is the main driver of land-system and environmental change. However, population is usually treated as a variable that only considers the population number, and multi-dimensional population structure is largely ignored. There has been a systematic transition of population structure in the past several decades, including changes in household structure, increasing aging populations, increasing divorce rates, and increasing human migration. All of these changes have direct or indirect impacts on land use and environmental issues. Here, taking China as an example and using statistical analysis, namely the Mann–Kendall trend test and a land-use-transition matrix, we examine the relationship between household dynamics and land-use change in China by examining changes in household structure and land-use changes in China between 1980 and 2020. The results show the following three groups of findings. (1) The number of households increased by 130.95% from 1980 to 2020, while the population only increased by 42.83%; the size of households decreased from 4.41 to 2.62 in China from 1982 to 2020; and the household dynamics varied from province to province, which is affected by urbanization rate and economic development. (2) Birth rates, divorce rates, population aging, and migration all affect household structure, which directly or indirectly affect changes in land-use systems. (3) The changes in China's land use are interlinked and interact with changes in household structure, which is evident in the increase in Residential land use and the abandonment of arable land. The rising household number increased the area of urban and rural settlement, leading to the fragmentation of cultivated land and the reduction of ecological land. To regulate land-use change for sustainable development, future land-use planning should take into account the effect of household dynamics and should reduce the negative effects of household dynamics on land systems and environmental change. Background: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of potentially inappropriate prescribing (PIP) and potential prescribing omissions (PPOs) and their association with ADR-related hospital admissions in patients aged ≥ 65 years admitted acutely to the hospital. Methods: Information on medications and morbidities was extracted from the Adverse Drug Reactions in an Ageing Population (ADAPT) cohort (N = 798: N = 361 ADR-related admissions; 437 non-ADR-related admissions). PIP and PPOs were assessed using Beers Criteria 2019 and STOPP/START version 2. Multivariable logistic regression (adjusted odds ratios (aOR), 95%CI) was used to examine the association between PIP, PPOs and ADR-related admissions, adjusting for covariates (age, gender, comorbidity, polypharmacy). Results: In total, 715 (90%; 95% CI 87–92%) patients had ≥1 Beers Criteria, 555 (70%; 95% CI 66–73%) had ≥ 1 STOPP criteria and 666 patients (83%; 95% CI 81–86%) had ≥ 1 START criteria. Being prescribed at least one Beers (aOR = 1.66, 95% CI = 1.00–2.77), or meeting STOPP (aOR = 1.07, 95% CI = 0.79–1.45) or START (aOR = 0.72; 95%CI = 0.50–1.06) criteria or the number of PIP/PPO criteria met was not significantly associated with ADR-related admissions. Patients prescribed certain drug classes (e.g., antiplatelet agents, diuretics) per individual PIP criteria were more likely to have an ADR-related admission. Background: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has become increasingly common in recent years, as studies have shown that it can be an effective treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) caused by large vessel occlusion (LVO). However, the efficacy of MT in the extended time window (6 to 24 h) is still uncertain. Our study aims to evaluate the outcomes of MT in the extended time window for AIS patients. Methods: We reviewed data on AIS patients who received MT beyond six hours of stroke onset from 2015 to 2022. The patients' occlusions were in the internal carotid artery (ICA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), or posterior circulation. Our evaluation included the modified Rankin scale (mRS) and 90-day mortality rates, as well as complications, such as symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH). Results: Thirty-one patients were included in this study, with a mean age of 75.6 ± 15.1 years, of whom 54.8% were male. The median NIHSS score at presentation was 17. Successful recanalization (TICI 2b to 3) was achieved in 90.3% of patients and the rate of sICH was 6.4%. No difference was observed between the two age groups. The younger age group (<80 years old) showed a better clinical outcome (mRS 0–2; p < 0.05, Fisher's exact test) compared with the older age group. The overall mortality rate was 6.4%. Conclusion: Our study shows that (MT) can be performed effectively and safely within an extended time window, resulting in satisfactory functional outcomes, particularly in the younger age group. Patients with schizophrenia have a high mortality risk, and the role of antipsychotic medications remains inconclusive. In an aging society, older patients with schizophrenia warrant increased attention. This study investigated the association of antipsychotic medication dosages with mortality in patients with schizophrenia by using data from Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database from 2010 to 2014. This study included 102,964 patients with schizophrenia and a subgroup of 6433 older patients in addition to an age- and sex-matched control group. The findings revealed that among patients with schizophrenia, the no antipsychotic exposure group had the highest mortality risk (3.61- and 3.37-fold higher risk for overall and cardiovascular mortality, respectively) in the age- and sex-adjusted model, followed by the high, low, and moderate exposure groups. A similar pattern was observed in the older patients with schizophrenia. High exposure to antipsychotics was associated with the highest risks of overall and cardiovascular mortality (3.01- and 2.95-fold higher risk, respectively). In conclusion, the use of antipsychotics can be beneficial for patients with schizophrenia with recommended exposure levels being low to moderate. In older patients, high antipsychotic exposure was associated with the highest mortality risk, indicating that clinicians should be cautious when administering antipsychotic medications to such patients. Urban park green areas are part of territorial space planning, shouldering the mission of providing residents with high-quality ecological products and public space. Using a combination of several measurement models such as the BCG (Boston Consulting Group) matrix, ESDA (Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis), MLR (Machine Learning Regression), GWR (Geographically Weighted Regression), and GeoDetector, this paper presents an empirical study on the changes in Urban Park Green Areas (UPGAs) in the Grand Canal of China. By quantitatively measuring the spatio–temporal evolution patterns of UPGAs, this study reveals the driving mechanisms behind them and proposes policy recommendations for planning and management based on performance evaluation. The spatio–temporal evolution of UPGAs and their performance in China's Grand Canal are characterized by significant spatial heterogeneity and correlation, with diversified development patterns such as HH (High-scale–High-growth), HL (High-scale–Low-growth), LH (Low-scale–High-growth), and LL (Low-scale–Low-growth) emerging. The evolution performance is dominated by positive oversupply and positive equilibrium, where undersupply coexists with oversupply. Therefore, this paper recommends the implementation of a zoning strategy in the future spatial planning of ecological green areas, urban parks, and green infrastructure. It is also recommended to design differentiated construction strategies and management policies for each zoning area, while promoting inter-city mutual cooperation in the joint preparation and implementation of integrated symbiosis planning. Furthermore, the spatio–temporal evolution of the UPGAs in the Grand Canal of China is influenced by many factors with very complex dynamic mechanisms, and there are significant differences in the nature, intensity, spatial effects, and interaction effects between different factors. Therefore, in the future management of ecological green areas, urban parks, and green infrastructure, it is necessary to interconnect policies to enhance their synergies in population, aging, industry and economy, and ecological civilization to maximize the policy performance.
