(1) Background: Depression and anxiety are the most common and severe mental disorders. This research estimated the prevalence and disease burden of depression and anxiety from 1990 to 2044. (2) Methods: Data on disease burden, population, and risk factors were identified and gathered from the Global Health Data Exchange database. The time trends, sex and age differences, key factors, and regional variations in and predictions of depression and anxiety were analyzed based on the age-standardized incidence rate, prevalence rate, and DALY rate. (3) Results: Our findings revealed that the burden of depression and anxiety was heavy. Specifically, the age-standardized DALY rate of depression started to decrease compared with trends related to anxiety disorders. Meanwhile, females bear a heavier burden for both depression and anxiety. Seniors and the middle-aged population carry the highest burden regarding mental disorders. Both high- and low-socio-demographic-index countries were found to be high-risk regions for depressive disorders. The disease burden attributed to childhood sexual abuse, bullying victimization, and intimate partner violence has increased since 1990. Finally, projections regarding depression and anxiety revealed geographic and age variations. The traditional production mode of the sericulture industry is no longer suitable for the development requirements of modern agriculture; to facilitate the sustainable development of the sericulture industry, factory all-age artificial diet feeding came into being. Understanding the structural characteristics and properties of silk fibers obtained from factory all-age artificial diet feeding is an important prerequisite for application in the fields of textiles, clothing, biomedicine, and others. However, there have been no reports so far. In this paper, by feeding silkworms with factory all-age artificial diets (AD group) and mulberry leaves (ML group), silk fibers were obtained via two different feeding methods. The structure, mechanical properties, hygroscopic properties, and degradation properties were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Structurally, no new functional groups appeared in the AD group. Compared with the ML group, the structure of the two groups was similar, and there was no significant difference in mechanical properties and moisture absorption. The structure of degummed silk fibers is dominated by crystalline regions, but α-chymotrypsin hydrolyzes the amorphous regions of silk proteins, so that after 28 d of degradation, the weight loss of both is very small. Simple Summary: Primary CNS lymphomas (PCNSLs) in children and young adults are not common. In this study, we studied immunophenotype, gene rearrangement, homozygous deletion of CDKN2A and HLA, and mutation profiling of 34 PCNSL patients aged between 7 and 39 years and correlated the findings with clinical features and outcome. We found that the PCNSLs of the pediatric and young adult patients were immunophenotypically different from the PCNSLs of the older patients. They were also molecularly different from the latter group, as many of the common molecular findings identified in the latter were not present or common in the PCNSLs of the pediatric and young adult patients. Pediatric brain tumors are often noted to be different from their adult counterparts in terms of molecular features. Primary CNS lymphomas (PCNSLs) are mostly found in elderly adults and are uncommon in children and teenagers. There has only been scanty information about the molecular features of PCNSLs at a young age. We examined PCNSLs in 34 young patients aged between 7 and 39 years for gene rearrangements of BCl2, BCL6, CCND1, IRF4, IGH, IGL, IGK, and MYC, homozygous deletions (HD) of CDKN2A, and HLA by FISH. Sequencing was performed using WES, panel target sequencing, or Sanger sequencing due to the small amount of available tissues. The median OS was 97.5 months and longer than that for older patients with PCNSLs. Overall, only 14 instances of gene rearrangement were found (5%), and patients with any gene rearrangement were significantly older (p = 0.029). CDKN2A HD was associated with a shorter OS (p < 0.001). Only 10/31 (32%) showed MYD88 mutations, which were not prognostically significant, and only three of them were L265P mutations. CARD11 mutations were found in 8/24 (33%) cases only. Immunophenotypically, the cases were predominantly GCB, in contrast to older adults (61%). Simple Summary: High-grade gliomas (HGGs) in the cerebellum of children have been rarely described. We studied the histological and molecular features of a series of five pediatric high-grade gliomas in the cerebellum. These unique cases showed histological and immunohistochemical similarities to medulloblastoma, which is a main differential diagnosis of poorly differentiated tumors in the cerebellum in children. Furthermore, these tumors showed high scores by NanoString-based transcriptomic assay for medulloblastoma. Genomic methylation profiling, however, revealed that they clustered to the glioblastoma subclasses. TP53 mutations were found in all cases by panel sequencing. This study adds to the rare pathological and molecular characterization of pediatric cerebellar high-grade gliomas and shows that their histological, immunohistochemical, and transcriptomical characteristics overlap with those of medulloblastoma. We recommend the use of both methylation array and TP53 screening in the differential diagnoses of poorly differentiated embryonal-like tumors of the cerebellum. A major differential diagnosis for poorly differentiated tumors in the cerebellum in children is medulloblastoma. In this study, we described the histological and molecular features of a series of five pediatric high-grade gliomas of the cerebellum. They actually showed histological and immunohistochemical features that overlapped with those of medulloblastomas and achieved high scores in NanoString-based medulloblastoma diagnostic assay. Methylation profiling demonstrated these tumors were heterogeneous epigenetically, clustering to GBM_MID, DMG_K27, and GBM_RTKIII methylation classes. MYCN amplification was present in one case, and PDGFRA amplification in another two cases. Interestingly, target sequencing showed that all tumors carried TP53 mutations. Our results highlight that pediatric high-grade gliomas of the cerebellum can mimic medulloblastomas at histological and transcriptomic levels. Our report adds to the rare number of cases in the literature of cerebellar HGGs in children. Time delays are a signature of many physical systems, including the brain, and considerably shape their dynamics; moreover, they play a key role in consciousness, as postulated by the temporo-spatial theory of consciousness (TTC). However, they are often not known a priori and need to be estimated from time series. In this study, we propose the use of permutation entropy (PE) to estimate time delays from neural time series as a more robust alternative to the widely used autocorrelation window (ACW). In the first part, we demonstrate the validity of this approach on synthetic neural data, and we show its resistance to regimes of nonstationarity in time series. Mirroring yet another example of comparable behavior between different nonlinear systems, permutation entropy–time delay estimation (PE-TD) is also able to measure intrinsic neural timescales (INTs) (temporal windows of neural activity at rest) from hd-EEG human data; additionally, this replication extends to the abnormal prolongation of INT values in disorders of consciousness (DoCs). Surprisingly, the correlation between ACW-0 and PE-TD decreases in a state-dependent manner when consciousness is lost, hinting at potential different regimes of nonstationarity and nonlinearity in conscious/unconscious states, consistent with many current theoretical frameworks on consciousness. In summary, we demonstrate the validity of PE-TD as a tool to extract relevant time scales from neural data; furthermore, given the divergence between ACW and PE-TD specific to DoC subjects, we hint at its potential use for the characterization of conscious states. Lappaconitine (LA) is a C-18 diterpene alkaloid isolated from Aconitum sinomontanum Nakai that has been shown to relieve mild to moderate discomfort. Various researchers have tried to explain the underlying mechanism of LA's effects on chronic pain. This article uses metabolomics technology to investigate the metabolite alterations in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) when lappaconitine hydrobromide (LAH) was injected in an inflammatory pain model, to explain the molecular mechanism of its analgesia from a metabolomics perspective. The pain model used in this study was a complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced inflammatory pain model in rats. There were two treatment groups receiving different dosages of LAH (4 mg/kg LAH and 8 mg/kg LAH). The analgesic mechanism of LAH was investigated with an analgesic behavioral test, tissue sections, and metabolomics. The results of the analgesic behavioral experiment showed that both 4 mg/kg LAH and 8 mg/kg LAH could significantly improve the paw withdrawal latency (PWL) of rats. The tissue section results showed that LAH could reduce the inflammatory response and enlargement of the paw and ankle of rats and that there was no significant difference in the tissue sections of the DRG. The metabolomics results showed that retinol metabolism and glycerophospholipid metabolism in the CFA-induced inflammatory pain model were significantly affected and may exacerbate the inflammatory reactions and initiate persistent pain; in addition, the linoleic acid metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, and alanine, aspartate, and glutamate metabolism were also slightly affected. Among them, the alpha-linolenic acid metabolism was up-regulated after LAH treatment, while the retinol metabolism was down-regulated. For precise delineation of glioma extent, amino acid PET is superior to conventional MR imaging. Since metabolic MR sequences such as chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) imaging and MR spectroscopy (MRS) were developed, we aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of combined CEST and MRS to predict glioma infiltration. Eighteen glioma patients of different tumor grades were enrolled in this study; 18F-fluoroethyltyrosine (FET)-PET, amide proton transfer CEST at 7 Tesla(T), MRS and conventional MR at 3T were conducted preoperatively. Multi modalities and their association were evaluated using Pearson correlation analysis patient-wise and voxel-wise. Both CEST (R = 0.736, p < 0.001) and MRS (R = 0.495, p = 0.037) correlated with FET-PET, while the correlation between CEST and MRS was weaker. In subgroup analysis, APT values were significantly higher in high grade glioma (3.923 ± 1.239) and IDH wildtype group (3.932 ± 1.264) than low grade glioma (3.317 ± 0.868, p < 0.001) or IDH mutant group (3.358 ± 0.847, p < 0.001). Using high FET uptake as the standard, the CEST/MRS combination (AUC, 95% CI: 0.910, 0.907–0.913) predicted tumor infiltration better than CEST (0.812, 0.808–0.815) or MRS (0.888, 0.885–0.891) alone, consistent with contrast-enhancing and T2-hyperintense areas. Probability maps of tumor presence constructed from the CEST/MRS combination were preliminarily verified by multi-region biopsies. The combination of 7T CEST/MRS might serve as a promising non-radioactive alternative to delineate glioma infiltration, thus reshaping the guidance for tumor resection and irradiation. Simple Summary: China's lip and oral cavity cancer burden is rising. The elderly have a relatively heavy disease burden, mainly due to poor oral health awareness, the side effects of other diseases and delayed treatment. Moreover, the incidence of the elderly over 50 years old is predicted to increase further from 2020 to 2049 in China. Males have a heavier disease burden, mainly due to their smoking, drinking and work exposure. Early screening and health intervention policies incorporating key populations and risk factors may deserve the consideration of policy makers to reduce the disease burden. Lip and oral cavity cancer is a common malignancy faced by many developing countries, and the disease burden is high in China. This study explored this cancer burden and its risk factors using data from China in the GBD 2019, along with predicting the incidence trends in 2020–2049. Data on age-standardized rates (ASR), incidence, death and disability-adjusted life years (DALY), by sex, age and risk factors were collected from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). Joinpoint regression and Age–Period–Cohort (APC) models were selected to analyze the epidemic trend of this cancer in China, and descriptive analysis was used for the time trend and age distribution of risk factors. The Bayesian APC model was selected to foresee the incidence trend in 2020–2049. This cancer burden was found to be in an upward trend in China in 1990–2019. The upward trend was more pronounced among men than among women. These cancer deaths and DALYs are overwhelmingly attributable to smoking and drinking. On APC analysis, the younger generation in China demonstrated a lower cancer risk. In 2049, the incidence of this cancer is projected to be 3.99/100,000, 6.07/100,000, 7.37/100,000, 10.49/100,000, 14.82/100,000, 19.19/100,000, 20.71/100,000, 23.64/100,000, 16.42/100,000 and 9.91/100,000 among those aged 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80–84, 85–89, 85–89 and over 95 years, respectively. Phospholipids are pivotal polar lipids in human milk and essential for infants' growth and development, especially in the brain and cognitive development. Its content and composition are affected by multiple factors and there exist discrepancies in different studies. In this study, we determined five major phospholipids classes (phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine, and sphingomyelin) in 2270 human milk samples collected from 0 to 400 days postpartum in six regions of China. The high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with an evaporative light scattering detector (HPLC-ELSD) was performed to quantify the phospholipids. Total phospholipid median (IQR) content was in a range between 170.38 ± 96.52 mg/L to 195.69 ± 81.80 mg/L during lactation and was higher concentrated in colostrum milk and later stage of lactation (after 200 days postpartum) compared with that in the samples collected between 10 to 45 days postpartum. Variations in five major sub-class phospholipids content were also observed across lactation stages (phosphatidylethanolamine: 52.61 ± 29.05 to 59.95 ± 41.74 mg/L; phosphatidylinositol: 17.65 ± 10.68 to 20.38 ± 8.55 mg/L; phosphatidylserine: 15.98 ± 9.02 to 22.77 ± 11.17 mg/L; phosphatidylcholine: 34.13 ± 25.33 to 48.64 ± 19.73 mg/L; sphingomyelin: 41.35 ± 20.31 to 54.79 ± 35.26 mg/L). Phosphatidylethanolamine (29.18–32.52%), phosphatidylcholine (19.90–25.04%) and sphingomyelin (22.39–29.17%) were the dominant sub-class phospholipids in Chinese breast milk during the whole lactation period. These results updated phospholipids data in Chinese human milk and could provide evidence for better development of secure and effective human milk surrogates for infants without access to breast milk. Health workforce misdistribution is a major challenge faced by almost all countries. A more profound understanding of the dynamics of the health labor market provides evidence for policy makers to balance health workforce distribution with solid evidence. However, one major deficit of existing theoretical and empirical studies is that they often ignore the intra-regional spillovers of the health labor market. This study builds a theoretical “supply–demand–spillover” model that considers both intra-regional supply and demand-side factors, and inter-regional spillovers, hence providing a theoretical reference point for further in-depth studies. Using spatial econometric panel models, the effect of all determinants and spillovers were empirically measured based on a Chinese panel data set, shedding light on health workforce policies in China. Polypropylene (PP) light weight meshes are commonly used as hernioplasty implants. Nevertheless, the growth of bacteria within textile knitted mesh intersections can occur after surgical mesh implantation, causing infections. Thus, bacterial reproduction has to be stopped in the very early stage of mesh implantation. Herein, novel antimicrobial PP meshes grafted with β-CD and complexes with triclosan were prepared for mesh infection prevention. Initially, PP mesh surfaces were functionalized with suitable cold oxygen plasma. Then, hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) was successfully grafted on the plasma-activated PP surfaces. Afterwards, β-CD was connected with the already HDI reacted PP meshes and triclosan, serving as a model antimicrobial agent, was loaded into the cyclodextrin (CD) cavity for desired antibacterial functions. The hydrophobic interior and hydrophilic exterior of β-CD are well suited to form complexes with hydrophobic host guest molecules. Thus, the prepared PP mesh samples, CD-TCL-2 and CD-TCL-6 demonstrated excellent antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli that were sustained up to 11 and 13 days, respectively. The surfaces of chemically modified PP meshes showed dramatically reduced water contact angles. Moreover, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and Thermogravimetric (TGA) evidenced that there was no significant effect of grafted hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and CD on the structural and thermal properties of the PP meshes. The rise and spread of antimicrobial resistance is creating an ever greater challenge in wound management. Nanofibrous membranes (NFMs) incorporated with antibiotics have been widely used to remedy bacterial wound infections owing to their versatile features. However, misuse of antibiotics has resulted in drug resistance, and it remains a significant challenge to achieve both high antibacterial efficiency and without causing bacterial resistance. Here, the 'MOF-first' strategy was adopted, the porphyrinic metal-organic frameworks nanoparticles (PCN−224 NPs) were pre-synthesized first, and then the composite antibacterial PCN−224 NPs @ poly (ε-caprolactone) (PM) NFMs were fabricated via a facile co-electrospinning technology. This strategy allows large amounts of effective MOFs to be integrated into nanofibers to effectively eliminate bacteria without bacterial resistance and to realize a relatively fast production rate. Upon visible light (630 nm) irradiation for 30 min, the PM−25 NFMs have the best 1O2 generation performance, triggering remarkable photodynamic antibacterial effects against both S. aureus, MRSA, and E. coli bacteria with survival rates of 0.13%, 1.91%, and 2.06% respectively. Considering the photodynamic antibacterial performance of the composite nanofibrous membranes functionalized by porphyrinic MOFs, this simple approach may provide a feasible way to use MOF materials and biological materials to construct wound dressing with the versatility to serve as an antibacterial strategy in order to prevent bacterial resistance. As a southwestern province of China, Sichuan is confronted with geographical disparities in access to healthcare professionals because of its complex terrain, uneven population distribution and huge economic gaps between regions. With 10-year data, this study aims to explore the county-level spatial disparities in access to different types of healthcare professionals (licensed doctors, registered nurses, pharmacists, technologists and interns) in Sichuan using temporal and spatial analysis methods. The time-series results showed that the quantity of all types of healthcare professionals increased, especially the registered nurses, while huge spatial disparities exist in the distribution of healthcare professionals in Sichuan. The local Moran's I calculations showed that high–high clusters (significantly high healthcare professional quantity in a group of counties) were detected in Chengdu (capital of Sichuan) and relatively rich areas, while low–low clusters (significantly low healthcare professional quantity in a group of counties) were usually found near the mountain areas, namely, Tsinling Mountains and Hengduan Mountains. In this study, 3-benzoylisoxazolines were synthesized by reacting alkenes with various α-nitroketones using chloramine-T as the base. The scope of α-nitroketones and alkenes is extensive, including different alkenes and alkynes to form various isoxazolines and isoxazoles. Additive manufacturing (3D Printing) has become a promising manufacturing method as it can produce parts in a flexible and efficient way, especially for very irregular parts. However, during the printing process, the material experiences a great temperature change from the melting temperature to room temperature; this causes high thermal strains and induces distinct deformations which degrade the quality of the printed parts, especially in metal 3D printing. In order to reduce possible problems and find possible solutions, a prior evaluation by simulation is often adopted. Nevertheless, since the 3D printing process generates parts in a layer-by-layer way, the analysis model should also be layer-by-layer arranged and used with a layer-by-layer based analysis process to simulate the layer-by-layer additive printing; otherwise, the simulation may not match the real behavior. In order to meet these requirements, a new meshless method is proposed to match the situations and handle these problems. As a meshless method, the modeling is not constrained by the element distribution. In addition, the analysis model generated with the proposed method can be arranged in a layer-by-layer way and combined with the proposed layer-by-layer analysis scheme, so it can then match and simulate the printing processes. Furthermore, the layer-by-layer arranged models can be automatically created, directly based on the STL (STereo-Lithography) geometry model, which is a de facto standard in the 3D printing industry. This makes the proposed approach more straightforward and efficient. To validate the proposed method, two parts with holes inside have been printed and simulated for comparison. To analyse the prevalence of severe and critical COVID-19 cases and its determinants, a systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted using Review Manager. Four English and two Chinese databases were used to identify and explore the relationships between the severity of COVID-19 and its determinants, with no restrictions on publication date. The odds ratio and 95% CI were combined to assess the influencing level of all factors. Twenty-three articles containing a total of 15,828 cases of COVID-19 were included in this systematic review. The prevalence of severe and critical COVID-19 cases was 17.84% and 4.9%, respectively. A total of 148 factors were identified, which included behavioural, symptom, comorbidity, laboratory, radiographic, exposure, and other factors. Among them, 35 factors could be included in the meta-analysis. Specifically, for example, the male (OR 1.55, 95% CI 1.42–1.69) and elderly (OR 1.06, 95% CI 1.03–1.10) populations tended to experience severe and critical illness. Patients with cough, dyspnea, fatigue, fever, and gastrointestinal symptoms could have severe and critical diseases. Regarding laboratory results, albumin, aspartate aminotransferase, creatinine, D-dimer, fibrinogen, neutrophils, procalcitonin, platelets, and respiratory rate were potential factors that could be used to predict the severity of COVID. Recent study indicates that by using the inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors inside smartphones, we can obtain similar navigation solutions to the professional ones. However, the sampling rates of the gyros and accelerometers inside some types of smartphones are not set in the same frequencies, i.e., the gyros of "Huawei p40" are in 50 Hz while the accelerometer is 100 Hz. The conventional method is resampling the higher frequency to the lower frequency ones, which means the resampled accelerometer will lose half frequency observations. In this work, a modified Kalman filter was proposed to integrate all these different rate IMU data in the GNSS/IMU-smartphone coupled navigation. To validate the proposed method, a terrestrial test with two different types of android smartphones was done. With the proposed method, a slight improvement of the attitude solutions can be seen in the experiments under the GNSS open-sky condition, and the obvious improvement of the attitude solutions can be witnessed at the simulated GNSS denied situation. The improvements by 45% and 23% of the horizontal position accuracy can be obtained from the experiments under the GNSS outage of 50 s in a straight line and 30 s in a turning line, respectively. This study examined the role of the ubiquitin E3-ligase RNF123 in modulating downstream NF-κB1 targets in glioblastoma (GB) tumor progression. Our findings revealed an oncogenic pathway (miR-155-5p-RNF123-NF-κB1-p50-SerpinE1) that may represent a new therapeutic target pathway for GB patients with isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 and 2 (IDH) WT (wild type). Mechanistically, we demonstrated that RNF123 is downregulated in IDH WT GB patients and leads to the reduction of p50 levels. RNA-sequencing, reverse-phase protein arrays, and in vitro functional assays on IDH WT GB cell lines with RNF123 overexpression showed that SerpinE1 was a downstream target that is negatively regulated by RNF123. SERPINE1 knockdown reduced the proliferation and invasion of IDH WT GB cell lines. Both SerpinE1 and miR-155-5p overexpression negatively modulated RNF123 expression. In clinical translational analysis, RNF123, SerpinE1, and miR-155-5p were all associated with poor outcomes in GB patients. Multivariable analysis in IDH WT GB patients showed that concurrent low RNF123 and high SerpinE1 was an independent prognostic factor in predicting poor overall survival (p < 0.001, hazard ratio (HR) = 2.93, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.7–5.05), and an increased risk of recurrence (p < 0.001, relative risk (RR) = 3.56, 95% CI 1.61–7.83). Shear localization is the main deformation mode for the near beta titanium alloy Ti-5Al-5Mo-5V-1Cr-1Fe loaded at high strain rates at either room temperature or cryogenic temperature. Nanoindentation, transmission electron microscopy, and high-resolution electron microscopy technique are applied to character the microstructure features and mechanical properties in the shear band of near beta titanium alloy. A white and straight band is observed in the shear region. Both microhardness and nanoindentaion hardness in the shear region are inferior to those in matrix. The different microstructure in the edge and the center in the shear band contribute to different mechanical properties. The plasticity of the entire shear band is almost homogenous when specimens are deformed at the cryogenic temperature. Rotational dynamic recrystallization is responsible for the formation of the ultrafine grains in the shear band. The edge of the shear band is composed of elongated grains, while there are ultrafine equiaxed grains in the center of the shear band. Deformation temperature has significant influence on the process of the grain refinement and the phase transformation in the shear band (SB). The grain sizes of the shear band in the specimen deformed at room temperature are larger than those in the specimens deformed at cryogenic temperature. The shear band consists of α phase grains in the specimen deformed at room temperature, and the shear band consists of α phase and lath-like α′ phase grains in the specimen deformed at cryogenic temperature. National basic public health services (BPHSs) are important for promoting the health of rural populations. A better understanding of rural BPHSs from the viewpoint of residents utilizing the services can help health-related departments and primary health care (PHC) centers further improve rural BPHSs. By conducting a large-scale cross-sectional survey in 10 western provinces of China, the study depicts rural resident experiences with rural BPHSs. Of the 9019 participants, 59.33% and 66.48% did not receive services related to health examinations or health education in the six months prior to the survey, respectively. A total of 56.90% were satisfied with the rural BPHSs, and the mean overall satisfaction score was 3.61 ± 0.908 (out of a maximum of 5). The most satisfying domain for rural residents with BPHSs was the attitude of PHC workers, whereas rural residents with chronic diseases were the least satisfied with the health management. Satisfaction with the attitude of PHC workers was identified as the strongest determinant of rural residents' overall satisfaction with BPHSs. Mesh infection is a major complication of hernia repair. After knitted mesh implantation, bacteria can grow within textile structures causing infection. In this work, polypropylene (PP) mesh devices were two-step grafted with hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and β–cyclodexrins (CD) and then loaded with suitable antimicrobial levofloxacin HCL for hernia mesh-infection prevention. First, oxygen plasma was able to create surface roughness, then HDI was successfully grafted onto PP fiber surfaces. Afterwards, CD was covalently grafted onto the HDI treated PP meshes, and levofloxacin HCL (LVFX) was loaded into the CD cavity of the modified meshes. The modified devices were evaluated for sustained antibiotic properties and drug-release profiles in a phosphate buffer, and sustained drug release was observed between interfaces of meshes and aqueous environment. The antibiotic-loaded PP mesh samples demonstrated sustained antibacterial properties for 7 and 10 days, respectively, against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The CD-captured levofloxacin HCL showed burst release after 6 h but later exhibited sustained release for the next 48 h. Among all samples, the modified mesh LVFX-6 was more stable and showed more sustained drug release and could be employed in future clinical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The natural resistance-associated macrophage protein gene (Nramp), has been identified as one of the significant candidate genes responsible for modulating vertebrate natural resistance to intracellular pathogens. Here, we identified and characterized a new Nramp family member, named as maNramp, in the blunt snout bream. The full-length cDNA of maNramp consists of a 153 bp 5′UTR, a 1635 bp open reading frame encoding a protein with 544 amino acids, and a 1359 bp 3′UTR. The deduced protein (maNRAMP) possesses the typical structural features of NRAMP protein family, including 12 transmembrane domains, three N-linked glycosylation sites, and a conserved transport motif. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that maNRAMP shares the significant sequence consistency with other teleosts, and shows the higher sequence similarity to mammalian Nramp2 than Nramp1. It was found that maNramp expressed ubiquitously in all normal tissues tested, with the highest abundance in the spleen, followed by the head kidney and intestine, and less abundance in the muscle, gill, and kidney. After lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation, the mRNA level of maNramp was rapidly up-regulated, which reached a peak level at 6 h. Health Literacy (HL) is an important determinant of health. Many scholars have conducted a large number of studies on the level of Chinese students' HL and its associated factors. However, previous studies on HL level and the factors that influence it have been contradictory. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to estimate the level of Chinese students' HL and its three dimensions (knowledge, behavior and skills) and to identify factors associated with HL in Chinese students. Two investigators independently searched literature, selected research and extracted data through comprehensively searching of four international electronic databases and three Chinese electronic database to identify all relevant observational studies on affecting factors for HL in Chinese students published in English and Chinese from database January, 2010 to September, 2020. In total, 61 articles were extracted in the study. The results showed that the level rates of HL and its three dimensions were 26%, 35%, 26%, 51%, respectively. For Chinese students, the significant factors were urban residents, senior class students, well performance at school, the Han nationality, focus on health knowledge, less exposure to video games, highly educated parents, income of one-child families, receiving health education, having medical background. This study provides some inspirations for improving the level of Chinese students' HL and their health. First, the findings may help Chinese policy makers understand the overall HL of Chinese students and their levels across three dimensions (knowledge, behavior and skills). Second, protective factors for Chinese students' HL were found in this research, which will help to improve the level of Chinese students' HL, stimulate students' awareness of prevention, and lay the foundation for a healthy China.

Owing to lack of appropriate model systems, investigations of meningioma biology have come to a stop. In this study, we developed a comprehensive digestion method and defined a culture system. Using this method and system, primary meningioma cells in conditioned suspension medium and a hypoxic environment could be amplified in spheres and were passaged for more than ten generations. Meningioma sphere cells were positive for meningioma cell markers and negative for markers of neural cell types. Importantly, we found the cells expressed the stem cell marker, CD133, but not nestin. All of the tumor sphere cell populations showed a slower degree of cell proliferation than that of human glioma cells and fetal neural stem cells (NSCs). Further studies showed that the proliferative rate was positively correlated with CD133 expression. The higher the CD133 expression, the faster the cell proliferation. With the increase in cell generations, the cell proliferation rate gradually slowed down, and CD133 expression also decreased. Single CD133(+) cells rather than CD133(-) cells could form spheres. Thus, the results above indicated that those cells expressing CD133 in spheres might be stem-like cells, which may be responsible for efficient amplification of human meningioma cells. Decreased expression of CD133 may lead to the failure of long-term passaging.
