Common rust (CR), caused by Puccina sorghi, is a major foliar disease in maize that leads to quality deterioration and yield losses. To dissect the genetic architecture of CR resistance in maize, this study utilized the susceptible temperate inbred line Ye107 as the male parent crossed with three resistant tropical maize inbred lines (CML312, D39, and Y32) to generate 627 F7 recombinant inbred lines (RILs), with the aim of identifying maize disease-resistant loci and candidate genes for common rust. Phenotypic data showed good segregation between resistance and susceptibility, with varying degrees of resistance observed across different subpopulations. Significant genotype effects and genotype × environment interactions were observed, with heritability ranging from 85.7% to 92.2%. Linkage and genome-wide association analyses across the three environments identified 20 QTLs and 62 significant SNPs. Among these, seven major QTLs explained 66% of the phenotypic variance. Comparison with six SNPs repeatedly identified across different environments revealed overlap between qRUST3-3 and Snp-203,116,453, and Snp-204,202,469. Haplotype analysis indicated two different haplotypes for CR resistance for both the SNPs. Based on LD decay plots, three co-located candidate genes, Zm00001d043536, Zm00001d043566, and Zm00001d043569, were identified within 20 kb upstream and downstream of these two SNPs. Zm00001d043536 regulates hormone regulation, Zm00001d043566 controls stomatal opening and closure, related to trichome, and Zm00001d043569 is associated with plant disease immune responses. Additionally, we performed candidate gene screening for five additional SNPs that were repeatedly detected across different environments, resulting in the identification of five candidate genes. Tassel weight (TW) is a crucial agronomic trait that significantly affects pollen supply and grain yield development in maize breeding. To improve maize yield and develop new varieties, a comprehensive understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying tassel weight is essential. In this study, tropical maize inbred lines, namely CML312, CML373, CML444, and YML46, were selected as female parents and crossed with the elite maize inbred line Ye107, which served as the common male parent, to develop a multi-parent population comprising four F8 recombinant inbred line (RIL) subpopulations. Using 6616 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers, we conducted genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) and genomic selection (GS) on 642 F8 RILs in four subpopulations across three different environments. Through GWAS, we identified 16 SNPs that were significantly associated with TW, encompassing two stable loci expressed across multiple environments. Furthermore, within the candidate regions of these SNPs, we discovered four novel candidate genes related to TW, namely Zm00001d044362, Zm00001d011048, Zm00001d011049, and Zm00001d031173 distributed on chromosomes 1, 3, and 8, which have not been previously reported. These genes are involved in processes such as signal transduction, growth and development, protein splicing, and pollen development, all of which play crucial roles in inflorescence meristem development, directly affecting TW. The co-localized SNP, S8_137379725, on chromosome 8 was situated within a 16.569 kb long terminal repeat retrotransposon (LTR-RT), located 22.819 kb upstream and 26.428 kb downstream of the candidate genes (Zm00001d011048 and Zm00001d011049). When comparing three distinct GS models, the BayesB model demonstrated the highest accuracy in predicting TW. This study establishes the theoretical foundation for future research into the genetic mechanisms underlying maize TW and the efficient breeding of high-yielding varieties with desired tassel weight through GS. Banded leaf and sheath blight (BLSB) in maize is a soil-borne fungal disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, resulting in significant yield losses. Investigating the genes responsible for regulating resistance to BLSB is crucial for yield enhancement. In this study, a multiparent maize population was developed, comprising two recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations totaling 442 F8RILs. The populations were generated by crossing two tropical inbred lines, CML444 and NK40-1, known for their BLSB resistance, as female parents, with the high-yielding but BLSB-susceptible inbred line Ye107 serving as the common male parent. Subsequently, we utilized 562,212 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) generated through genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) for a comprehensive genome-wide association study (GWAS) aimed at identifying genes responsible for BLSB resistance. The objectives of this study were to (1) identify SNPs associated with BLSB resistance through genome-wide association analyses, (2) explore candidate genes regulating BLSB resistance in maize, and (3) investigate pathways involved in BLSB resistance and discover key candidate genes through Gene Ontology (GO) analysis. The GWAS analysis revealed nineteen SNPs significantly associated with BLSB that were consistently identified across four environments in the GWAS, with phenotypic variation explained (PVE) ranging from 2.48% to 11.71%. Screening a 40 kb region upstream and downstream of the significant SNPs revealed several potential candidate genes. By integrating information from maize GDB and the NCBI, we identified five novel candidate genes, namely, Zm00001d009723, Zm00001d009975, Zm00001d009566, Zm00001d009567, located on chromosome 8, and Zm00001d026376, on chromosome 10, related to BLSB resistance. These candidate genes exhibit association with various aspects, including maize cell membrane proteins and cell immune proteins, as well as connections to cell metabolism, transport, transcriptional regulation, and structural proteins. These proteins and biochemical processes play crucial roles in maize defense against BLSB. When Rhizoctonia solani invades maize plants, it induces the expression of genes encoding specific proteins and regulates corresponding metabolic pathways to thwart the invasion of this fungus. The present study significantly contributes to our understanding of the genetic basis of BLSB resistance in maize, offering valuable insights into novel candidate genes that could be instrumental in future breeding efforts to develop maize varieties with enhanced BLSB resistance. In this study, hotspot regions, QTL clusters, and candidate genes for eight ear-related traits of maize (ear length, ear diameter, kernel row number, kernel number per row, kernel length, kernel width, kernel thickness, and 100-kernel weight) were summarized and analyzed over the past three decades. This review aims to (1) comprehensively summarize and analyze previous studies on QTLs associated with these eight ear-related traits and identify hotspot bin regions located on maize chromosomes and key candidate genes associated with the ear-related traits and (2) compile major and stable QTLs and QTL clusters from various mapping populations and mapping methods and techniques providing valuable insights for fine mapping, gene cloning, and breeding for high-yield and high-quality maize. Previous research has demonstrated that QTLs for ear-related traits are distributed across all ten chromosomes in maize, and the phenotypic variation explained by a single QTL ranged from 0.40% to 36.76%. In total, 23 QTL hotspot bins for ear-related traits were identified across all ten chromosomes. The most prominent hotspot region is bin 4.08 on chromosome 4 with 15 QTLs related to eight ear-related traits. Additionally, this study identified 48 candidate genes associated with ear-related traits. Out of these, five have been cloned and validated, while twenty-eight candidate genes located in the QTL hotspots were defined by this study. This review offers a deeper understanding of the advancements in QTL mapping and the identification of key candidates associated with eight ear-related traits. Aging is a complex process of impaired physiological integrity and function, and is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegeneration, and cancer. The cellular environment of the aging brain exhibits perturbed bioenergetics, impaired adaptive neuroplasticity and flexibility, abnormal neuronal network activity, dysregulated neuronal Ca2+ homeostasis, accumulation of oxidatively modified molecules and organelles, and clear signs of inflammation. These changes make the aging brain susceptible to age-related diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. In recent years, unprecedented advances have been made in the study of aging, especially the effects of herbal/natural compounds on evolutionarily conserved genetic pathways and biological processes. Here, we provide a comprehensive review of the aging process and age-related diseases, and we discuss the molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic properties of herbal/natural compounds against the hallmarks of brain aging. In this paper, cooperative control and optimal control methods are used for the formation control of mixed-order heterogeneous multi-agent systems. The system consists of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). The system is represented in a state space using a block Kronecker product. The static and dynamic formation control protocols are proposed respectively, and the graph theory is used to prove that formation control protocols can realize system formation. Furthermore, the optimal control and cooperative control are introduced into the static and the dynamic formation control protocols, and the static cooperative optimal formation control protocol and the dynamic cooperative optimal formation control protocol are designed. Through MATLAB simulation, the static cooperative optimal control protocol and static formation control protocol are compared, and the dynamic cooperative optimal control protocol and dynamic formation control protocol are compared. By comparison, the state variables of the system can reach convergence quickly, and the system can complete formation in a short time, which verifies the effectiveness of the optimal theory and cooperative control. Excretory–secretory antigens (ESAs) of Cysticercus cellulosae can directly regulate the proliferation and differentiation of host T regulatory (Treg) cells, thus inhibiting host immune responses. However, previous studies have only focused on this phenomenon, and the molecular mechanisms behind the ways in which C. cellulosae ESAs regulate the differentiation of host Treg/Th17 cells have not been reported. We collected CD3+ T cells stimulated by C. cellulosae ESAs through magnetic bead sorting and used label-free quantification (LFQ) proteomics techniques to analyze the signaling pathways of C. cellulosae ESAs regulating Treg/Th17 cell differentiation. Through gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), we found that C. cellulosae ESAs could upregulate the TGF-β signaling pathway and downregulate Th17 cell differentiation in piglet T cells. Interestingly, we also found that the IL-2/STAT5 signaling pathway also affects the downregulation of Th17 cell differentiation. C. cellulosae ESAs activate the TGF-β signaling pathway and the IL-2/STAT5 signaling pathway in host T cells to further regulate the differentiation of Treg/Th17 cells in order to evade host immune attack. A suitable living environment is the common aspiration of city residents and the inherent requirement of sustainable development. This paper takes 114 resource-based cities in China as the research objects, constructs a pseudo human settlement environment (PSH) system based on network data, and constructs a real human settlement environment (RSH) system based on traditional data, measures the coupling coordination degree of the pseudo and real human settlement environment, and uses Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to analyze its improvement path. The conclusions are as follows: (1) The evaluation index of real human settlements in China's resource-based cities continues to grow, and the evaluation index of pseudo human settlements increases first and then decreases. (2) The coupling coordination degree between the resource-based pseudo city and the real human settlement environment presents an inverted U-shaped change trend, and the overall distribution presents a three-level ladder-like distribution of east-central-west. (3) A single condition has a weak ability to explain the coupling coordination degree of human settlements; the coupling coordination degree of resource-based cities has formed three improvement paths: opening + finance driven model, opening + education + finance driven model, and education + finance driven model. Ginsenosides, active substances in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer (ginseng), extend lifespan in multiple species, ameliorate age-associated damage, and limit functional decline in multiple tissues. However, their active components and their molecular mechanisms are largely unknown. Here, ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1) promoted longevity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Treatment with Rg1 decreased aging-mediated surface wrinkling, enhanced stress resistance, decreased reactive oxygen species' production and apoptosis, improved antioxidant enzyme activity, and decreased the aging rate. Proteomic analysis indicated that Rg1 delays S. cerevisiae senescence by regulating metabolic homeostasis. Protein–protein interaction networks based on differential protein expression indicated that CDC19, a homologue of pyruvate kinase, and SDH2, the succinate dehydrogenase iron–sulfur protein subunit, might be the effector proteins involved in the regulation by Rg1. Further experiments confirmed that Rg1 improved specific parameters of mitochondrial bioenergetics and core enzymes in the glycolytic pathway. Mutant strains were constructed that demonstrated the relationships between metabolic homeostasis and the predicted target proteins of Rg1. Human tissues and disease models require well-defined biomimetic microenvironments. During the past decade, innovative developments in materials science, microfabrication, and polymer science have provided us with the ability to manipulate cellular microenvironments for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering applications. Solution blow spinning is a facile fiber fabricating method that requires a simple apparatus, a concentrated polymer solution within a volatile solvent, and a high-pressure gas source. Commercially available airbrushes, typically used for painting and cosmetic makeup, have successfully generated a range of nanofibers and films. Applications under investigation are similar to electrospinning and include enzyme immobilization, drug delivery, filtration, infection protection, tissue engineering, and wound healing. Cervical cancer is a common gynecological malignancy afflicting women all over the world. Ginsenoside Rh2 (GRh2), especially 20(S)-GRh2, is a biologically active component in the natural plant ginseng, which can exhibit anticancer effects. Here, we aimed to investigate the effect of 20(S)-GRh2 on cervical cancer and elucidate the underlying mechanism through RNA-seq. In this study, the CCK-8 assay showed that 20(S)-GRh2 inhibited HeLa cell viability in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Caspase 3 activity and Annexin V staining results showed that 20(S)-GRh2 induced apoptosis of HeLa cells. Gene function enrichment analysis revealed that the biological process gene ontology (GO) terms were associated with the apoptotic signaling pathway. Biological process GO terms' similarity network indicated that apoptosis might be from endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERs). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis revealed that 20(S)-GRh2 primarily modulates apoptosis pathway genes. Combined protein–protein interaction network, hub gene screening, and qPCR validation data showed that ERs-related genes (ATF4 and DDIT3) and the downstream apoptotic genes (JUN, FOS, BBC3, and PMAIP1) were potential novel targets of 20(S)-GRh2-inducing cervical cancer cell apoptosis. Differential transcript usage analysis indicated that DDIT3 is also a differential transcript and its usage of the isoform (ENST00000552740.5) was reduced by 20(S)-GRh2. Molecular docking suggested that 20(S)-GRh2 binds to the targets (ATF4, DDIT3, JUN, FOS, BBC3, and PMAIP1) with high affinity. In conclusion, our findings indicated that 20(S)-GRh2 might promote ERs-related apoptosis of cervical cancer cells by regulating the DDIT3-based targets' signal pathway. Simple Summary: The lack of precision biomarkers hinders the development of individualized immunotherapy for esophageal cancer (ESCA) patients. The activation of WNT signaling has proved to be associated with the primary resistance to immunotherapy. Therefore, our study aims to develop efficient biomarkers based on WNT signaling to guide ESCA immunotherapy. In the TCGA cohort with 196 cases and our BJCH cohort with 95 cases, we successfully constructed an IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo signature and validated its correlation with the poor prognosis of ESCA patients. Moreover, in 2 GEO cohorts with a total of 68 cases and our BJIM cohort with 21 cases, we verified that IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo ESCA patients had a good response and prognosis with immunotherapy. Our findings indicate that the IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo signature was a potential immunotherapeutic biomarker for ESCA. PD-(L)1 inhibitor could improve the survival of locally advanced esophageal cancer (ESCA) patients, but we cannot tailor the treatment to common biomarkers. WNT signaling activation was associated with primary resistance to immunotherapy. In this study, we used our two clinical cohorts (BJCH n = 95, BJIM n = 21) and three public cohorts to evaluate and verify a new immunotherapeutic biomarker based on WNT signaling in ESCA patients. Our findings showed that WNT signaling-related genes stratified TCGA patients into Cluster 1, 2, and 3, among which, Cluster 3 had the worst prognosis. The most up- and down-regulated genes in Cluster 3 were IGFBP1 and WNT3A. Further analysis validated that IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo ESCA patients had significantly poor RFS and OS in the TCGA and BJCH cohorts. Interestingly, IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo patients had a good response and prognosis with immunotherapy in three independent cohorts, exhibiting better predictive value than PD-L1 expression (signature AUC = 0.750; PD-L1 AUC = 0.571). Moreover, IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo patients may benefit more from immunotherapy than standard treatment (p = 0.026). Immune cell infiltration analysis revealed a significant increase in DC infiltration in IGFBP1hiWNT3Alo patients post-immunotherapy (p = 0.022), which may enhance immune response. The risk of exposure to mycotoxins through the consumption of wheat flours has long been a concern. A total of 299 wheat flours marketed in Shanghai Province of China were surveyed and analyzed for the co-occurrence of 13 mycotoxins through an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method. The detection rates of mycotoxins in wheat flours ranged from 0.7~74.9% and their average contamination levels in wheat flours (0.2~57.6 µg kg−1) were almost lower than the existing regulations in cereals. However, their co-contamination rate was as high as 98.1%, especially Fusarium and Alternaria mycotoxins. Comparative analysis of different types of wheat flours showed that the average contamination levels in refined wheat flours with low-gluten were lower. Based on these contamination data and the existing consumption data of Shanghai residents, point evaluation and the Monte Carlo assessment model were used to preliminarily evaluate the potential dietary exposure risk. The probable daily intakes of almost all mycotoxins, except for alternariol, were under the health-based guidance values for 90% of different consumer groups. In this paper, the distributed optimal control method is used to study the cooperative formation of heterogeneous multi-agents in the air–ground environment. The considered system consists of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). The optimal control theory is introduced into the formation control protocol, the distributed optimal formation control protocol is designed, and the stability is verified by graph theory. Furthermore, the cooperative optimal formation control protocol is designed, and the stability is analyzed using a block Kronecker product and matrix transformation theory. Through the comparison of simulation results, the introduction of optimal control theory shortens the formation time of the system and accelerates the convergence speed of the system. In the context of sustainable development, economic resilience provides a new research perspective for resource-based cities to resist external shocks and risks. The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics and determinants of resource-based cities' economic resilience in China, and to provide effective policy recommendations. This paper constructs an index system to measure the economic resilience of 114 resource-based cities in China from 2005 to 2019. This paper uses spatial analysis methods and the Theil index to reveal spatiotemporal evolution and regional disparities. Then, it uses the spatial Durbin model to reveal influencing factors from the perspective of spatial spillover effects. The conclusions are as follows: Firstly, the economic resilience of resource-based cities in China shows a growth trend. The spatial polarization of economic resilience in resource-based cities has intensified, showing a distribution pattern of high in the east and low in the west and northeast, with the cold spot of economic resilience moving from the southwest to the northeast. Secondly, the distribution of economic resilience in the eight economic regions is spatially heterogeneous. Inter-regional disparity is the main source of different economic resilience in the eight major economic regions. Thirdly, market potential and talent development potential are the direct drivers of economic resilience in resource-based cities. Nationalization, industrial specialization, and fiscal risk inhibit the development of economic resilience. Resource dependence not only hinders local innovation and transformation ability, but also negatively impacts the economic resilience of surrounding cities. Therefore, resource-based cities need to promote the diversification of industrial structures, and ensure resource allocation through the combination of the market and the government. In this research, we explored the synthesis optimization of the silica-based quaternized adsorption material (SG-VTS-VPQ) and its adsorption behavior for Pu(IV). By optimizing the synthesis process, the grafting amount of 4-vinylpyridine reached 1.25 mmol·g−1. According to the analysis of NMR and XPS, the quaternization rate of pyridine groups reached 91.13%. In the adsorption experiments, the thermodynamic experiment results show that the adsorption of Pu(IV) by SG-VTS-VPQ is more in line with the Langmuir adsorption model and the adsorption type is a typical chemical adsorption; the kinetic results show that adsorption process is more in line with the pseudo first-order kinetic model, and the larger specific surface area of SG-VTS-VPQ plays an important role in the adsorption. The results of the adsorption mechanism show that the adsorption of Pu(IV) by SG-VTS-VPQ is mainly complex anion Pu(NO3)62− and Pu(NO3)5−. This research provides in-depth and detailed ideas for the surface modification and application of porous silica gel, and at the same time provides a new way to develop the direction of the analysis of pretreatment materials in the spent fuel reprocessing field. Dynamic and precise manipulation of the gas flow in a liquid environment through a facile and reliable approach is of great importance for directional gas transportation and multiphase chemical reactions. In this research, elastic superhydrophobic strings were prepared by a one-step, non-fluorinated dip-coating strategy. The surface-treatment string demonstrated a good superaerophilicity underwater. By simply elongating or shortening superaerophilic strings, the gas flux underwater was precisely manipulated in a gas-siphon underwater experiment. The result reveals that a large strain of the treated string induces a low gas flow, and a rope woven with more strings results in a larger range of gas flow regulation. The elastic superhydrophobic/superaerophilic string was utilized to adjust the reaction time of carbon dioxide and sodium hydroxide aqueous solution successfully. Furthermore, in a wet oxidation experiment for treating simulated flue gas composed of nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen and oxygen, superhydrophobic and stretched strings with a strain of 200% demonstrated a 7.9% higher NO removal efficiency than that of untreated strings. Interestingly, NO removal efficiency can be regulated by mechanical stretching of gas-conducting strings. We compare the relationship between the Arctic Oscillation (AO) and ozone concentration in the lower stratosphere over the Arctic during 1980–1994 (P1) and 2007–2019 (P2) in January and February using reanalysis datasets. The out-of-phase relationship between the AO and ozone in the lower stratosphere is significant in January during P1 and February during P2, but it is insignificant in January during P2 and February during P1. The variable links between the AO and ozone in the lower stratosphere over the Arctic in January and February are not caused by changes in the spatial pattern of AO but are related to the anomalies in the planetary wave propagation between the troposphere and stratosphere. The upward propagation of the planetary wave in the stratosphere related to the positive phase of AO significantly weakens in January during P1 and in February during P2, which may be related to negative buoyancy frequency anomalies over the Arctic. When the AO is in the positive phase, the anomalies of planetary wave further contribute to the negative ozone anomalies via weakening the Brewer–Dobson circulation and decreasing the temperature in the lower stratosphere over the Arctic in January during P1 and in February during P2. 20(S)-Ginsenoside Rg3 (GRg3) has various bioactivities including anti-cancer effects and inhibition of autophagy. However, no reports have investigated the appearance of autophagy or the connection between autophagy and apoptosis in HeLa cells treated with 20(S)-GRg3. Cell viability was measured by CCK-8 (cell counting kit-8) assays. Apoptosis and the cell cycle were analyzed by Hoechst 33342 staining and flow cytometry. Apoptotic pathways were examined by ROS (reactive oxygen species) determination and rhodamine 123 assays. Western blot analysis was used to determine changes in protein levels. Autophagy induction was monitored by acidic vesicular organelle staining and EGFP-LC3 transfection. 20(S)-GRg3 inhibited autophagy of cells in a starved state, making it impossible for cells to maintain a steady state through autophagy, and then induced apoptosis. 20(S)-GRg3 blocked the late stage of autophagy (fusion of lysosomes and degradation of autophagic lysosomes), including a decrease in acidic vesicular organelle fluorescence, increased LC3 I–II conversion, accumulation of EGFP-LC3 fluorescence, GFP-mRFP-LC3 red-green fluorescence ratio, degradation of the substrate p62, and loss of the balance between autophagy and apoptosis, which induced apoptosis. ROS increased, the mitochondrial membrane potential decreased, apoptotic inducer AIF was released from mitochondria, and nuclear transfer occurred, triggering a series of subsequent apoptotic events. Autophagy inducer rapamycin inhibited the apoptosis induced by 20(S)-GRg3, whereas autophagy inhibitor BA1 promoted apoptosis induced by 20(S)-GRg3. Therefore, 20(S)-GRg3 promoted HeLa cell apoptosis by regulating autophagy. In the autophagic state, 20(S)-GRg3 can be used as a novel autophagy inhibitor in synergy with tumor-blocking therapies such as chemotherapy, which supports its application in the medical field. Accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ), which results in the formation of senile plaques that cause oxidative damage and neuronal cell death, has been accepted as the major pathological mechanism of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Hence, inhibition of Aβ-induced oxidative damage and neuronal cell apoptosis represents the effective strategies in combating AD. Ginsenoside Re (Re) has pharmacological effects against Aβ-induced neurotoxicity. However, its molecular mechanism remains elusive. The present study evaluated the effect of Re against Aβ-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis in SH-SY5Y cells, and investigated the underlying mechanism. We demonstrate that Re inhibits the Aβ-triggered mitochondrial apoptotic pathway, as indicated by maintenance of mitochondrial functional, elevated Bcl-2/Bax ratio, reduced cytochrome c release, and inactivation of caspase-3/9. Re attenuated Aβ-evoked reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) phosphorylation, and JNK activation. ROS-scavenging abrogated the ability of Re to alter ASK-1 activation. Simultaneously, inhibition of JNK abolished Re-induced Bax downregulation in Aβ-challenged SH-SY5Y cells. In addition, Re enhanced activation of the nuclear factor-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in Aβ-induced SH-SY5Y cells. Knockdown of Nrf2 by small interfering RNA targeting Nrf2 abolished the protective effect of Re. Our findings indicate that Re could be a potential therapeutic approach for the treatment of AD. In this research, the authors studied the synthesis of a silicon-based quaternary ammonium material based on the coupling agent chloromethyl trimethoxysilane (KH-150) as well as its adsorption and separation properties for Th(IV). Using FTIR and NMR methods, the silicon-based materials before and after grafting were characterized to determine the spatial structure of functional groups in the silicon-based quaternary ammonium material SG-CTSQ. Based on this, the functional group grafting amount (0.537 mmol·g -1 ) and quaternization rate (83.6%) of the material were accurately calculated using TGA weight loss and XPS. In the adsorption experiment, the four materials with different grafting amounts showed different degrees of variation in their adsorption of Th(IV) with changes in HNO 3 concentration and NO 3 - concentration but all exhibited a tendency toward anion exchange. The thermodynamic and kinetic experimental results demonstrated that materials with low grafting amounts (SG-CTSQ 1 and SG-CTSQ 2 ) tended to physical adsorption of Th(IV), while the other two tended toward chemical adsorption. The adsorption mechanism experiment further proved that the functional groups achieve the adsorption of Th(IV) through an anion-exchange reaction. Chromatographic column separation experiments showed that SG-CTSQ has a good performance in U-Th separation, with a decontamination factor for uranium in Th(IV) of up to 385.1, and a uranium removal rate that can reach 99.75%.

In this study, hotspot regions, QTL clusters, and candidate genes for eight ear-related traits of maize (ear length, ear diameter, kernel row number, kernel number per row, kernel length, kernel width, kernel thickness, and 100-kernel weight) were summarized and analyzed over the past three decades. This review aims to (1) comprehensively summarize and analyze previous studies on QTLs associated with these eight ear-related traits and identify hotspot bin regions located on maize chromosomes and key candidate genes associated with the ear-related traits and (2) compile major and stable QTLs and QTL clusters from various mapping populations and mapping methods and techniques providing valuable insights for fine mapping, gene cloning, and breeding for high-yield and high-quality maize. Previous research has demonstrated that QTLs for ear-related traits are distributed across all ten chromosomes in maize, and the phenotypic variation explained by a single QTL ranged from 0.40% to 36.76%. In total, 23 QTL hotspot bins for ear-related traits were identified across all ten chromosomes. The most prominent hotspot region is bin 4.08 on chromosome 4 with 15 QTLs related to eight ear-related traits. Additionally, this study identified 48 candidate genes associated with ear-related traits. Out of these, five have been cloned and validated, while twenty-eight candidate genes located in the QTL hotspots were defined by this study. This review offers a deeper understanding of the advancements in QTL mapping and the identification of key candidates associated with eight ear-related traits. These insights will undoubtedly assist maize breeders in formulating strategies to develop higher-yield maize varieties, contributing to global food security.
