The molecular structure of coal is complex, and the existing research methods are limited, so it is difficult to clarify its influence mechanism on the spontaneous-combustion characteristics of coal. In this paper, the previous extraction, FTIR, TPR, TG-DSC and other experimental results are combined to analyze the extraction weakening effect and the correlation analysis of the spontaneous-combustion characteristic parameters of raffinate coal. The results show that extraction can destroy the connection bond of coal molecules, change the content of dominant active groups in the coal spontaneous-combustion reaction, increase the lower limit of the key temperature nodes of coal spontaneous-combustion or extend the temperature range, resulting in an increase in the ignition-point temperature of coal and a decrease in coal quality. This paper will provide a theoretical basis for the study of the microscopic mechanism of coal spontaneous-combustion and then provide new ideas for the development of an active prevention and control technology for coal spontaneous-combustion. Through the application of cloud top temperature data and the extraction of supercooled cloud information in cloud-type data from the next-generation Himawari-8 geostationary satellite with high spatial–temporal resolution, a quantitative evaluation of the forecasting performance of the weather modification model named the Cloud and Precipitation Explicit Forecasting System (CPEFS) was conducted. The evaluation, based on selected forecast cases from 8 days in September and October 2018 initialized at 00 and 12 UTC every day, focused especially on the forecasting performance in supercooled clouds (vertical integrated supercooled liquid water, VISL > 0), including the comprehensive spatial distribution of cloud top temperature (CTT) and 3 h precipitation over 0.1 mm (R3 > 0.1). The results indicated that the forecasting performance for VISL > 0 was relatively good, with the Threat Score (TS) ranging from 0.46 to 0.67. The forecasts initialized at 12 UTC slightly outperformed the forecasts initialized at 00 UTC. Additionally, the corresponding spatial Anomaly Correlation Coefficient (ACC) of CTT between forecasts and observations was 0.23, and the TS for R3 > 0.1 reached as high as 0.87. For a mix of cold and warm cloud systems, there was a correlation between the forecasting performance of VISL > 0 and CTT. Lead (Pb) is a common environmental neurotoxicant that results in abnormal neurobehavior and impaired memory. Avicularin (AVL), the main dietary flavonoid found in several plants and fruits, exhibits neuroprotective and hepatoprotective properties. In the present study, the effects of AVL on Pb-induced neurotoxicity were evaluated using ICR mice to investigate the molecular mechanisms behind its protective effects. Our study has demonstrated that AVL treatment significantly ameliorated memory impairment induced by lead (Pb). Furthermore, AVL mitigated Pb-triggered neuroinflammation, ferroptosis, and oxidative stress. The inhibition of Pb-induced oxidative stress in the brain by AVL was evidenced by the reduction in malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and the enhancement of glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities. Additionally, in the context of lead-induced neurotoxicity, AVL mitigated ferroptosis by increasing the expression of GPX4 and reducing ferrous iron levels (Fe2+). AVL increased the activities of glycogenolysis rate-limiting enzymes HK, PK, and PYG. Additionally, AVL downregulated TNF-α and IL-1β expression while concurrently enhancing the activations of AMPK, Nrf2, HO-1, NQO1, PSD-95, SNAP-25, CaMKII, and CREB in the brains of mice. Complex terrain features such as mountains and hills can obstruct the airflow and force upward motion, thereby altering local atmospheric circulation patterns. During the rainy season, these terrain characteristics are more prone to causing intense local precipitation, leading to geological hazards such as floods and debris flows. These phenomena are closely linked to the intricate influence of terrain on wind fields, highlighting the necessity for in-depth research into wind field characteristics under complex terrain conditions. To address this, we propose a neural-network-based model leveraging terrain data and horizontal wind speed data to predict atmospheric motion characteristics and terrain uplift effects in specific terrain conditions. To enhance the generalization ability of the model, we innovatively extract key physical information from the horizontal wind vector data as training parameters. By comparing with the results of the Fluent model, we validate the model's capability in dynamic downscaling and flow field modeling. Experimental outcomes demonstrate that our model can generate terrain-adapted convective warning data with a high accuracy, even when terrain features are altered. Under unoptimized conditions, the results at a maximum resolution of 50 m require only 26 s, and the computation time can be further reduced with algorithmic improvements. Digital microfluidics is a novel technique for manipulating discrete droplets with the advantages of programmability, small device size, low cost, and easy integration. The development of droplet sensing methods advances the automation control of digital microfluidics. Impedance measurement emerges as a promising technique for droplet localization and characterization due to its non-invasive nature, high sensitivity, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness. However, traditional impedance measurement approaches in digital microfluidics based on the high-voltage actuating signal are limited in sensing accuracy in practical applications. In this paper, we propose a novel droplet impedance sensing system for digital microfluidics by introducing a low-voltage and addressable measurement circuit, which enables impedance measurement over a wide frequency range. The proposed measurement system has also been used for detecting the droplet composition, size, and position in a digital microfluidic chip. The improved impedance sensing method can also promote the applications of the digital microfluidic, which requires high accuracy, real-time, and contactless sensing with automatic sample pretreatment. The acoustic temperature measurement method has a broad application prospect due to its advantages of high precision, non-contact, etc. It is expected to become a new method for hidden fire source detection in mines. The acoustic time of flight (TOF) can directly affect the accuracy of acoustic temperature measurement. We proposed a quadratic correlation-based phase transform weighting (PHAT-β) algorithm for estimating the time delay of the acoustic temperature measurement of a loose coal. Validation was performed using an independently built experimental system for acoustic temperature measurement of loose coals under multi-factor coupling. The results show that the PHAT-β algorithm estimated acoustic TOF values closest to the reference line as the sound travelling distance increased. The results of coal temperature inversion experiments show that the absolute error of the PHAT-β algorithm never exceeds 1 °C, with a maximum value of 0.862 °C. Using the ROTH weighted error maximum, when the particle of the coal samples is 3.0–5.0 cm, the absolute error maximum is 4.896 °C, which is a difference of 3.693 °C from the error minimum of 1.203 °C in this particle size interval. The accuracy of six algorithms was ranked as PHAT-β > GCC > PHAT > SCOT > HB > ROTH, further validating the accuracy and reliability of the PHAT-β algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GRT-X, which targets both the mitochondrial translocator protein (TSPO) and the Kv7.2/3 (KCNQ2/3) potassium channels, has been shown to efficiently promote recovery from cervical spine injury. In the present work, we investigate the role of GRT-X and its two targets in the axonal growth of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons. Neurite outgrowth was quantified in DRG explant cultures prepared from wild-type C57BL6/J and TSPO-KO mice. TSPO was pharmacologically targeted with the agonist XBD173 and the Kv7 channels with the activator ICA-27243 and the inhibitor XE991. GRT-X efficiently stimulated DRG axonal growth at 4 and 8 days after its single administration. XBD173 also promoted axonal elongation, but only after 8 days and its repeated administration. In contrast, both ICA27243 and XE991 tended to decrease axonal elongation. In dissociated DRG neuron/Schwann cell co-cultures, GRT-X upregulated the expression of genes associated with axonal growth and myelination. In the TSPO-KO DRG cultures, the stimulatory effect of GRT-X on axonal growth was completely lost. However, GRT-X and XBD173 activated neuronal and Schwann cell gene expression after TSPO knockout, indicating the presence of additional targets warranting further investigation. In recent years, cadmium (Cd) contamination in agricultural soil has emerged as a significant global environmental issue, posing irreversible harm to crops and human health. As a result, efficient soil remediation techniques are urgently needed. For this issue, synergistic remediation by material and plant is an effective approach. In this study, a natural and green adsorption material (starch/montmorillonite composite, SMC) of Cd was prepared, which was further employed in synergistic remediation toward soil Cd contamination with the cadmium hyperaccumulator plant Bidens bipinnata. The results of the pot experiment demonstrated that an available Cd removal rate of 77.92 could be obtained, and the results of the field experiments demonstrate that the concentrations of Cd in contaminated soil could be reduced below the risk-screening values for agricultural land. Further analyses, including a microbial community diversity study, changes in soil BCR fraction components, and a TCLP toxicity leaching experiment, unequivocally elucidated that the synergy of SMC and Bidens bipinnata enhanced the remediation efficiency of Cd in contaminated soil. The atmospheric flow field and weather processes exhibit complex and variable characteristics at small scales, involving interactions between terrain features and atmospheric physics. To investigate the mechanisms of these process further, this study employs a Lagrangian particle motion model combined with a Euler background field approach to construct a small-scale atmospheric flow field model. The model streamlines the modeling process by combining the benefits of the Lagrangian dynamics model and the Eulerian integration scheme. To verify the effectiveness of the Euler–Lagrange hybrid model, experiments using the Fluent wind field model were conducted for comparison. The results show that both models have their advantages in handling terrain-induced wind fields. The Fluent model excels in simulating the general characteristics of wind fields under specific terrain, while the Euler–Lagrange hybrid model is better at capturing the upstream and downstream disturbances of the terrain on the atmospheric flow field. These findings provide powerful tools for in-depth diagnostic analysis of atmospheric flow simulation and convective precipitation processes. Notably, the Euler–Lagrange hybrid model demonstrates excellent computational efficiency, with an average computation time of approximately 2 s per time step in a Python environment, enabling rapid simulation of 40 time steps within approximately 90 s. Simple Summary: Bees are important pollinators that play a role in balancing ecosystems; however, their survival rates have decreased due to many factors, including pathogens and exposure to pesticides. Bees have native mechanisms to help them tackle such challenges, and yet, these may not be enough. To this end, gut symbionts are beneficial, as they can help stimulate bees' immune systems and detoxify ingested toxic chemicals. To enhance the efficiency of these mechanisms, genetic engineering is proposed in this work to further optimize the ability of bee gut symbionts, particularly in the dominant bacteria Snodgrassella alvi and Gilliamella apicola. Engineering strategies are discussed according to the gut symbiotic bacteria's main roles in digestion, essential nutrient provision, and pesticide detoxification. Bees play a crucial role as pollinators, contributing significantly to ecosystems. However, the honeybee population faces challenges such as global warming, pesticide use, and pathogenic microorganisms. Promoting bee growth using several approaches is therefore crucial for maintaining their roles. To this end, the bacterial microbiota is well-known for its native role in supporting bee growth in several respects. Maximizing the capabilities of these microorganisms holds the theoretical potential to promote the growth of bees. Recent advancements have made it feasible to achieve this enhancement through the application of genetic engineering. In this review, we present the roles of gut symbionts in promoting bee growth and collectively summarize the engineering approaches that would be needed for future applications. Particularly, as the engineering of bee gut symbionts has not been advanced, the dominant gut symbiotic bacteria Snodgrassella alvi and Gilliamella apicola are the main focus of the paper, along with other dominant species. Moreover, we propose engineering strategies that will allow for the improvement in bee growth with listed gene targets for modification to further encourage the use of engineered gut symbionts to promote bee growth. With global warming and intensified human activities, extreme convective precipitation has become one of the most frequent natural disasters. An accurate and reliable assessment of severe convective precipitation events can support social stability and economic development. In order to investigate the accuracy enhancement methods and data fusion strategies for the assessment of severe convective precipitation events, this study is driven by the horizontal reflectance factor (ZH) and differential reflectance (ZDR) of the dual-polarization radar. This research work utilizes microphysical information of convective storms provided by radar variables to construct the precipitation event assessment model. Considering the problems of high dimensionality of variable data and low computational efficiency, this study proposes a dual-polarization radar echo-data-layering strategy. Combined with the results of mutual information (MI), this study constructs Bayes–Kalman filter (KF) models (RF, SVR, GRU, LSTM) for the assessment of severe convective precipitation events. Finally, this study comparatively analyzes the evaluation effectiveness and computational efficiency of different models. The results show that the data-layering strategy is able to reduce the data dimensions of 256 × 256 × 34,978 to 5 × 2213, which greatly improves the computational efficiency. In addition, the correlation coefficient of interval III–V calibration period is increased to 0.9, and the overall assessment accuracy of the model is good. Among them, the Bayes–KF-LSTM model has the best assessment effect, and the Bayes–KF-RF has the highest computational efficiency. Further, five typical precipitation events are selected for validation in this study. The stratified precipitation dataset agrees well with the near-surface precipitation, and the model's assessment values are close to the observed values. This study completely utilizes the microphysical information offered by dual-polarized radar ZH and ZDR in precipitation event assessment, which provides a wide range of application possibilities for the assessment of severe convective precipitation events. After a transmission line is covered by ice in winter, ice-shedding and vibration occurs under special meteorological and external dynamic conditions, which leads to intense transmission line shaking. Transmission line ice-shedding and vibration often cause line flashover trips and outages. In January 2018, three 500 kV transmission lines, namely, the 500 kV Guanli line, the 500 kV Dushan line, and the 500 kV Guanqiao line, tripped and cut off due to ice-shedding and vibration in Anhui province, seriously threatening the safe operation of a large power grid. Current studies mainly focus on analyzing the influence factors and characteristics of line ice-shedding and investigating suppression measures, but they only analyze the correlation between each influencing factor and icing or shedding, and do not consider the coupling effects between multiple factors. In this paper, the key influencing factors and the probability distribution of transmission line ice-shedding were analyzed, and a multiple-factor coupling fault probability calculation model of line ice-shedding based on Copula function was proposed. The fault probability was calculated directly by considering multiple influence factors at the same time, which effectively overcame the error caused by multi-factor transformation in fuzzy membership degree and other methods. This paper addresses a novel multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem with flexible resource profiles (F-MSRCPSP), in which the resource allocation of each activity consists of a certain number of discrete resources and is allowed to be adjusted over its duration. The F-MSRCPSP aims, therefore, to determine the flexible resource profile of each activity to minimize the make-span and total cost simultaneously. Then, a hybrid multi-objective fruit fly optimization algorithm is proposed to handle the concerned problem. In the proposed algorithm, two flexible parallel and serial schedule generation schemes are introduced, aiming to schedule activities and adjust allocated resource combinations. Additionally, two heuristic strategies are proposed to effectively select suitable resource combinations for activities. Moreover, a series of operators has been developed, including the rejoining operator, empirical re-arrangement operator, and empirical re-selection operator. These operators aim to accelerate the convergence speed and enhance the exploration of the proposed algorithm. Finally, the orthogonal test is used to select the optimal parameter combination, and comparative experiments based on tests with different scales are conducted, along with a t-test. Astragalus is a medicinal plant with obvious rhizosphere effects. At present, there are many Astragalus plants with high application value but low recognition and resource reserves in the northwestern area of Yunnan province, China. In this study, metagenomics was used to analyze the microbial diversity and community structure of rhizosphere soil of A. forrestii, A. acaulis, and A. ernestii plants grown in a special high-cold environment of northwestern Yunnan, China, at different altitudes ranging from 3225 to 4353 m. These microbes were taxonomically annotated to obtain 24 phyla and 501 genera for A. forrestii, 30 phyla and 504 genera for A. acaulis, as well as 39 phyla and 533 genera for A. ernestii. Overall, the dominant bacterial phyla included Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Acidobacteria, while the dominant fungal ones were Ascomycota and Basidiomycota. At the genus level, Bradyrhizobium, Afipia, and Paraburkholderia were the most prevalent bacteria, and Hyaloscypha, Pseudogymnoascus, and Russula were the dominant fungal genera. Some of them are considered biocontrol microbes that could sustain the growth and health of host Astragalus plants. Redundancy analysis revealed that pH, TN, and SOM had a significant impact on the microbial community structures (p < 0.05). Finally, triterpene, flavonoid, polysaccharide, and amino acid metabolisms accounted for a high proportion of the enriched KEGG pathways, which possibly contributed to the synthesis of bioactive constituents in the Astragalus plants. The glands of bees are responsible for generating and secreting various biologically active substances that significantly impact bee physiological health and adaptability. This study aimed to investigate the effects of adding citric acid (CA) to bee feed on gland development and royal jelly quality. By formulating feed with varying proportions of CA, evaluation was undertaken of pollen feeding by honeybees under laboratory conditions, along with the impact of CA on the development of major glands, to determine suitable addition proportions. Further optimization of the CA proportion involved feeding colonies and evaluating royal jelly production and quality. The results indicated that feed containing 0.75% CA significantly extended the lifespan of bees and increased their pollen consumption. Gland development in bees showed a positive correlation with CA addition within the range of 0.25% to 0.75%, especially at 0.50% and 0.75%, which notably accelerated the development of mandibular, hypopharyngeal, and cephalic salivary glands, with active proliferation and differentiation of glandular cells and maintenance of normal gland size and morphology. CA added to feed stimulated vigorous secretion of wax glands in worker bees, resulting in prolific wax construction. Colonies consuming feed containing 0.50% CA produced royal jelly with significantly reduced moisture and total sugar content and increased levels of 10-HDA, total phenolic acids, total proteins, and acidity. These findings demonstrate that CA consumption significantly prolongs bee lifespan, increases consumption, promotes gland development, and enhances royal jelly quality. Ca2+ plays a crucial role as a secondary messenger in plant development and response to abiotic/biotic stressors. Calcium-dependent protein kinases (CDPKs/CPKs) are essential Ca2+ sensors that can convert Ca2+ signals into downstream phosphorylation signals. However, there is limited research on the function of CDPKs in the context of wheat–Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) interaction. In this study, we aimed to address this gap by identifying putative CDPK genes from the wheat reference genome and organizing them into four phylogenetic clusters (I-IV). To investigate the expression patterns of the TaCDPK family during the wheat–Pst interaction, we analyzed time series RNA-seq data and further validated the results through qRT-PCR assays. Among the TaCDPK genes, TaCDPK7 exhibited a significant induction during the wheat–Pst interaction, suggesting that it has a potential role in wheat resistance to Pst. To gain further insights into the function of TaCDPK7, we employed virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) to knock down its expression which resulted in impaired wheat resistance to Pst, accompanied by decreased accumulation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), increased fungal biomass ratio, reduced expression of defense-related genes, and enhanced pathogen hyphal growth. These findings collectively suggest that TaCDPK7 plays an important role in wheat resistance to Pst. Fat has a high energy density, and excessive fatness has been recognized as a problem for egg production and the welfare of chickens. The identification of a genetic polymorphism controlling fat deposition would be helpful to select against excessive fatness in the laying hen. This study aimed to estimate genomic heritability and identify the genetic architecture of abdominal fat deposition in a population of chickens from a Dongxiang blue-shelled local breed crossbred with the White Leghorn. A genome-wide association study was conducted on abdominal fat percentage, egg production and body weights using a sample of 1534 hens genotyped with a 600 K Chicken Genotyping Array. The analysis yielded a heritability estimate of 0.19 ± 0.04 for abdominal fat percentage; 0.56 ± 0.04 for body weight at 72 weeks; 0.11 ± 0.03 for egg production; and 0.24 ± 0.04 for body weight gain. The genetic correlation of abdominal fat percentage with egg production between 60 and 72 weeks of age was −0.35 ± 0.18. This implies a potential trade-off between these two traits related to the allocation of resources. Strong positive genetic correlations were found between fat deposition and weight traits. A promising locus close to COL12A1 on chromosome 3, associated with abdominal fat percent, was found in the present study. Another region located around HTR2A on chromosome 1, where allele substitution was predicted to be associated with body weight gain, accounted for 2.9% of phenotypic variance. Another region located on chromosome 1, but close to SOX5, was associated with egg production. These results may be used to influence the balanced genetic selection for laying hens. This paper investigates the latent classes of parking preference for drivers and the economic effects after implementing Parking Space Comprehensive Utilization (PSC) in traditional business districts (TBD), with a particular focus on the parking preferences of electric vehicle users (EVU). Firstly, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) is used to reduce dimensionality and determine the latent structure. Then, based on the Latent Class Model (LCM), the customers are classified, and the proportion of each class under various latent variables is analyzed. Finally, the paper conducts a quantitative analysis of economic effects by considering different psychological factors across different customer classes. With the data obtained from revealed preference (RP) and stated preference (SP) surveys, this paper identifies the customers' preferences for the three scenarios presented. The results show that (1) customers can be classified into four classes: core customers (CCS, 34%), potential customers (PCS, 29%), regular customers (RCS, 22%), and marginal customers (MCS, 15%), among which EVU do not show a significant preference for parking charging facilities in TBD; (2) the potential economic improvements for these four classes are: 9%, 12%, 8%, and 10%; (3) CCS has the greatest potential to increase store revenue by ¥7041, while PCS has the greatest potential to increase store customer flow by 31%. Consider three electromagnetic scattering models, namely, electromagnetic scattering by an elastic body, by a chiral medium, and by a cylinder at oblique incidence. We are concerned with the corresponding inverse problems of determining the locations and shapes of the scatterers from phaseless far-field patterns. There are certain essential differences from the usual inverse electromagnetic scattering problems, and some fundamental conclusions need to be proved. First, we show that the phaseless far-field data are invariant under the translation of the scatterers and prove the reciprocity relations of the scattering data. Then, we justify the unique determination of the scatterers by utilizing the reference ball approach and the superpositions of a fixed point source and plane waves as the incident fields. Data processing of low-altitude remote sensing visible images from UAVs is one of the hot research topics in precision agriculture aviation. In order to solve the problems of large model size with slow detection speed that lead to the inability to process images in real time, this paper proposes a lightweight target detector CURI-YOLOv7 based on YOLOv7tiny which is suitable for individual citrus tree detection from UAV remote sensing imagery. This paper augmented the dataset with morphological changes and Mosica with Mixup. A backbone based on depthwise separable convolution and the MobileOne-block module was designed to replace the backbone of YOLOv7tiny. SPPF (spatial pyramid pooling fast) was used to replace the original spatial pyramid pooling structure. Additionally, we redesigned the neck by adding GSConv and depth-separable convolution and deleted its input layer from the backbone with a size of (80, 80) and its output layer from the head with a size of (80, 80). A new ELAN structure was designed, and the redundant convolutional layers were deleted. The experimental results show that the GFLOPs = 1.976, the parameters = 1.018 M, the weights = 3.98 MB, and the mAP = 90.34% for CURI-YOLOv7 in the UAV remote sensing imagery of the citrus trees dataset. The detection speed of a single image is 128.83 on computer and 27.01 on embedded devices. Therefore, the CURI-YOLOv7 model can basically achieve the function of individual tree detection in UAV remote sensing imagery on embedded devices. This forms a foundation for the subsequent UAV real-time identification of the citrus tree with its geographic coordinates positioning, which is conducive to the study of precise agricultural management of citrus orchards. An accurate and reliable estimation of photovoltaic models holds immense significance within the realm of energy systems. In pursuit of this objective, a Boosting Flower Pollination Algorithm (BFPA) was introduced to facilitate the robust identification of photovoltaic model parameters and enhance the conversion efficiency of solar energy into electrical energy. The incorporation of a Gaussian distribution within the BFPA serves the dual purpose of conserving computational resources and ensuring solution stability. A population clustering strategy is implemented to steer individuals in the direction of favorable population evolution. Moreover, adaptive boundary handling strategies are deployed to mitigate the adverse effects of multiple individuals clustering near problem boundaries. To demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness of the BFPA, it is initially employed to extract unknown parameters from well-established single-diode, double-diode, and photovoltaic module models. In rigorous benchmarking against eight control methods, statistical tests affirm the substantial superiority of the BFPA over these controls. Furthermore, the BFPA successfully extracts model parameters from three distinct commercial photovoltaic cells operating under varying temperatures and light irradiances. A meticulous statistical analysis of the data underscores a high degree of consistency between simulated data generated by the BFPA and observed data. The global control problem of high-order nonlinear systems with unknown odd rational powers and nonlinearities has been solved in this paper for the first time. Barrier functions were introduced into the controller to set the controller free from rational powers, which solved the problem caused by unknown odd rational powers. In utilizing barrier functions and their inverse functions, two transformations were constructed for the state and tracking errors, which resulted in the global tracking controller for the high-order odd-rational-powers nonlinear systems with unknown system nonlinearities. No knowledge of system nonlinearities and odd rational powers is required to construct the controller in this paper, and only control gains are assumed to be positive to guarantee the controllability of the system, which implies that the proposed method is model-free and has much more relaxed conditions than all the existing methods for high-order nonlinear systems. In this paper, the adaptive synchronization problem of quaternion-valued Cohen–Grossberg neural networks (QVCGNNs), with and without known parameters, is investigated. On the basis of constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, and utilizing parameter identification theory and decomposition methods, two effective adaptive feedback schemes are proposed, to guarantee the realization of global synchronization of CGQVNNs. The control gain of the above schemes can be obtained using the Matlab LMI toolbox. The theoretical results presented in this work enrich the literature exploring the adaptive synchronization problem of quaternion-valued neural networks (QVNNs). Current methodologies for insulator defect detection are hindered by limitations in real-world applicability, spatial constraints, high computational demand, and segmentation challenges. Addressing these shortcomings, this paper presents a robust fast detection algorithm combined segmentation head networks with harnessing self-attention and transformer (HST-Net), which is based on the You Only Look Once (YOLO) v5 to recognize and assess the extent and types of damage on the insulator surface. Firstly, the original backbone network is replaced by the transformer cross-stage partial (Transformer-CSP) networks to enrich the network's ability by capturing information across different depths of network feature maps. Secondly, an insulator defect segmentation head network is presented to handle the segmentation of defect areas such as insulator losses and flashovers. It facilitates instance-level mask prediction for each insulator object, significantly reducing the influence of intricate backgrounds. Finally, comparative experiment results show that the positioning accuracy and defect segmentation accuracy of the proposed both surpass that of other popular models. It can be concluded that the proposed model not only satisfies the requirements for balance between accuracy and speed in power facility inspection, but also provides fresh perspectives for research in other defect detection domains. The functional group structures of coal molecules are one of the most important factors affecting spontaneous combustion. However, it is difficult to determine the exact effects of such structures. Extraction technology is able to modify the functional groups in coal as a means of inhibiting spontaneous combustion reactions. The present work extracted coal from the Caojiatan mine in northern Shaanxi, China, with various solvents. The extraction effectiveness of these solvents was found to decrease in the order of dioctyl sulfosuccinate (AOT) > water > n-hexane > cyclohexane + AOT + ethanol > cyclohexane > ethanol > methanol. With the exception of the AOT, the concentration of functional groups in the extracted coal was decreased compared with that in a control specimen extracted using only water. Ethanol, n-hexane, and methanol provided the optimal extraction efficiencies in terms of capturing coal molecules with aromatic structures, aliphatic structures, and oxygen-containing groups, respectively. The results of this work are expected to assist in future research concerning the extraction of coal molecules with specific functional groups. Investigating the propagation and influencing mechanism that transitions a meteorological drought to a hydrological drought in a changing environment is crucial for understanding the formation process and mechanism of hydrological drought. Furthermore, it is essential to establish an effective hydrological drought warning system based on meteorological drought. To assess the dynamic changes in the spread of meteorological drought to hydrological drought during various seasons, this study employs the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Standardized Runoff Index (SRI), and Normalized Vegetation Index (NDVI) to represent meteorological, hydrological, and vegetation droughts, respectively, in the Ganjiang River Basin (GRB) from 2002 to 2020. Considering that meteorological drought can be caused not only by insufficient precipitation but also by excessive evaporation, an additional index, namely the Evaporative Demand Drought Index (EDDI), is constructed to quantify meteorological drought resulting from evaporation factors. The article analyzes the characteristics of the spatiotemporal evolution of meteorological, hydrological, and vegetation drought. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient is employed to calculate the propagation time of different seasons from meteorological drought to hydrological/vegetation drought and from hydrological drought to vegetation drought. Furthermore, we examine the propagation relationship among meteorological, hydrological, and vegetation drought in the time-frequency domain through cross-wavelet analysis and explore the key factors and physical mechanisms that influence the propagation of drought in various seasons. The result shows: The propagation time from meteorological to hydrological drought (SPI-SRI) is shortest in spring, extended during summer and autumn, and longest in winter. The meteorological drought arising from excessive evapotranspiration in autumn has the most substantial impact on hydrological drought. Vegetation drought and meteorological/hydrological drought exhibit significant intermittent resonance periods in 0~6 months and significant stable resonance periods in 7~15 months. Obesity represents a major health challenge because it substantially increases the risk of metabolic diseases. Capsaicin, the major active ingredient of Capsicum spp., has been reported to possess anti-obesity activity. Hereon, the effect of capsaicin on glucose uptake and consumption in hepatocytes was extensively studied. Capsaicin was shown to accelerate the glucose uptake/consumption and the ATP production of hepatocytes. The elevation of intracellular Ca2+ was thought to be a potential mechanism. By transcriptome analysis, 78, 146 and 507 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between capsaicin and the control group for 4 h, 12 h and 24 h treatments. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis showed that most of the DEGs were involved in canonical pathways, like MAPK and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways. Clustering analysis showed that many DEGs were associated with glucose and amino acid metabolism. The variation trend in genes related to glucose and amino acid metabolism (like CTH, VEGFA, PCK2 and IGFBP3) in the quantitative PCR (q-PCR) assay was consistent with the transcriptome data. Toxicity, emissions and structural damage results on lithium-ion battery (LIB) thermal runaway triggered by the electrothermal method were performed in this work. The electrothermal triggering method was determined to study the thermal runaway behaviors of three types of commercial LIBs. The structural damage of the cathode material of the batteries after thermal runaway was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that as the state of charge (SOC) of the battery increases, the lower the temperature at which thermal runaway occurs, and the more badly the structural damage of the electrode material after thermal runaway. Qualitative analysis of products from LIBs thermal runaway emissions was conducted by GC-MS, and the toxicity and formation mechanism of the emissions were analyzed in detail. Dozens of toxic substances were detected from the emissions after thermal runaway of batteries using LixNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 and LiCoO2 as the cathode material, the types of toxic substances increase gradually with the increase in the SOC, while as for batteries using LiFePO4 as the cathode material, most types of toxic substances were detected from 30% SOC. The shaft tubular pump device is widely used in various water diversion projects because of its ultra-low head and large flow characteristics. Due to the tip clearance between the blade and the shroud, it is easy to cause hydraulic mechanical performance changes, induced vibration, and noise, which seriously affects the safe and stable operation of the pump. Steady and unsteady three-dimensional flow field numerical simulations of a shaft tubular pump device were carried out using computational fluid dynamics to investigate the impeller flow properties of the device under various flow conditions, including the tip clearance leakage flow (TCLF) and change rule of pressure pulsation. The TCLF, vortex morphology evolution, and pressure pulsation properties of the impeller tip clearance were analyzed. The results show that with an increase in the flow rate, the influence of the tip clearance size on the tip clearance flow decreases, the TCLF decreases, and the axial velocity of the water flow at the tip clearance increases. When the flow rate increases, the swirling strength of the tip leakage vortex decreases, and the distance between the tip leakage vortex and the suction surface of the blade increases. With the increase in flow rate, the pressure pulsation amplitude at the tip clearance increases first and then decreases. The focus of this study is to analyze the variation of tip clearance flow field and pressure pulsation under multiple working conditions, aiming to provide some help for improving the performance of the pump device and ensuring its safe operation. The study of wearable systems based on surface electromyography (sEMG) signals has attracted widespread attention and plays an important role in human–computer interaction, physiological state monitoring, and other fields. Traditional sEMG signal acquisition systems are primarily targeted at body parts that are not in line with daily wearing habits, such as the arms, legs, and face. In addition, some systems rely on wired connections, which impacts their flexibility and user-friendliness. This paper presents a novel wrist-worn system with four sEMG acquisition channels and a high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) greater than 120 dB. The circuit has an overall gain of 2492 V/V and a bandwidth of 15~500 Hz. It is fabricated using flexible circuit technologies and is encapsulated in a soft skin-friendly silicone gel. The system acquires sEMG signals at a sampling rate of over 2000 Hz with a 16-bit resolution and transmits data to a smart device via low-power Bluetooth. Muscle fatigue detection and four-class gesture recognition experiments (accuracy greater than 95%) were conducted to validate its practicality. Chitin is the main component of fungal cell walls, which can be recognized by pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMP). Chitinase in filamentous fungi has been reported to degrade immunogenic chitin oligomers, thereby preventing chitin-induced immune activation. In this study, we identified the chitinase families in 10 fungal genomes. A total of 131 chitinase genes were identified. Among the chitinase families, 16 chitinase genes from Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) were identified, and the expression of PstChia1 was the highest during Pst infection. Further studies indicated that PstChia1 is highly induced during the early stages of the interaction of wheat and Pst and has chitinase enzyme activity. The silencing of PstChia1 revealed that PstChia1 limited the growth and reduced the virulence of Pst. The expression level of TaPR1 and TaPR2 was induced in PstChia1 knockdown plants, suggesting that PstChia1 is involved in regulating wheat resistance to Pst. The mammalian brain, with its complexity and intricacy, poses significant challenges for researchers aiming to understand its inner workings. Optical multilayer interference tomography (OMLIT) is a novel, promising imaging technique that enables the mapping and reconstruction of mesoscale all-cell brain atlases and is seamlessly compatible with tape-based serial scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for microscale mapping in the same tissue. However, currently, OMLIT suffers from imperfect coatings, leading to background noise and image contamination. In this study, we introduced a new imaging configuration using carbon spraying to eliminate the tape-coating step, resulting in reduced noise and enhanced imaging quality. We demonstrated the improved imaging quality and validated its applicability through a correlative light–electron imaging workflow. Our method successfully reconstructed all cells and vasculature within a large OMLIT dataset, enabling basic morphological classification and analysis. We also show that this approach can perform effectively on thicker sections, extending its applicability to sub-micron scale slices, saving sample preparation and imaging time, and increasing imaging throughput. Consequently, this method emerges as a promising candidate for high-speed, high-throughput brain tissue reconstruction and analysis. In order to optimize the bus departure time considering uncertain factors, this paper constructed an uncertain bi-level programming model for departure frequency and scheduling of a bus line. The uncertainty of passenger arrival and bus operation time were taken into account, combined with actual operation conditions. Nanchang 207 bus line was taken as an example to optimize the departure frequency and scheduling in the morning peak hour. The optimal departure frequency in the morning peak hour is 12 times. The overall index value of the route's non-uniform scheduling during peak hours increased by 0.06 and 9.23% compared with uniform scheduling. The analysis results show that the effect of the non-uniform scheduling is obvious. The issue of bus line departure frequency and scheduling has a positive effect on improving the efficiency of public transportation, reducing operating costs and promoting the sustainable development of the public transportation system. The selection of appropriate grapevine trellis systems is of great importance for regulating vine vigor, forming grape yield, improving fruit quality, and labor-saving field management in the North China Plain. The effects of two trellis systems on the viticultural characteristics and fruit quality of three table grape cultivars: RuiduHongyu (RDHY), RuiduXiangyu (RDXY), and Red Globe (RG) were investigated. The two trellis systems were: (i) T trellis, with shoots positioned horizontally and downwards; and (ii) V trellis, with shoots positioned upright with an inclined angle. Headspace-solid-phase micro-extraction combined with gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS) was used to determine the compositions and contents of the monoterpenes in the fruit. The results showed that for RDHY and RG, the T trellis showed better shoot growth consistency. The sugar–acid ratios of RDHY in 2019 and RDXY in 2021 under the T trellis were significantly higher than those under the V trellis. In 2020 and 2021, RDHY showed significantly higher total anthocyanin, flavonoid, and proanthocyanidin concentrations under the T trellis. The total monoterpene content in RDHY berries was significantly higher under the T trellis. The aromatic profiles of RDHY and RDXY grapes were similar and were mainly composed of citrus, other floral, other fruit, and rose aromatic characteristics. Among them, the main aromatic characteristics varied greatly among the different treatments. In conclusion, the Eurasian table grape cultivars with muscat flavor showed a more moderate and controllable vine vigor, consistent shoot growth, better fruit quality and taste, and greater accumulation of polyphenolic compounds and monoterpenes under the T trellis system. Rolling contact fatigue (RCF) of vacuum induction melted–vacuum arc remelted (VIM-VAR) M50 bearing steel under high loads was carried out, using a three-ball-rod RCF tester. Dark etching regions (DER) and butterflies were found in the subsurface region below the raceway of the RCF-tested sample. The DER appeared in the region of maximum shear stress located at a depth of 30 μm to 170 μm below the raceway. Carbon atoms migrated through high-density dislocations, and part of the martensite plates was transformed into cellular ferrites, due to the redistribution of dislocations during the deformation of martensite under the action of cyclic shear stress. Butterflies appeared in the region of maximum shear stress located at a depth of 20 μm to 314 μm below the raceway. Butterflies were initiated in the primary carbides, with length values ranging from 5 μm to 15 μm. The plate martensite in the butterfly wings was transformed into nanocrystalline ferrites, due to the increase in the dislocation density and rearrangement of dislocations during the extension of fatigue cracks from the primary carbides to the matrix under cyclic shear stress. One of the challenges to the analysis of interactions between soil and piles in lateral spreading is the modeling of the progress generated by excess pore pressure and soil strength and stiffness degradation. In this paper, a pile–soil interaction analysis method that introduces the thixotropic-induced excess pore pressure model (TEPP) to describe the progressive development of the stress–strain rate connection of liquefying soil is proposed. The reliability of the method was verified by comparing the calculated results with that of the shake table test. Then, the parametric analyses of soil–pile interactions were carried out. The results show that the bending moment and horizontal displacement of pile foundations increase with the increase in superficial viscosity and inclination angle of the site. The horizontal dislocation and bending moment of the pile foundation increase with the decrease in loading frequency as a result of the property of amplifying low-frequency loads and filtering high-frequency loads of liquefied soil. A four-component synthesis of 2-phenyl-9H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indoles was developed using indole-3-carboxaldehydes, aromatic aldehyde and ammonium iodide as the raw materials under transition-metal-free conditions. To improve the starting performance of the P2.5 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with a wet dual-clutch transmission, an adaptive starting control strategy is presented in this paper, which controls the two clutches simultaneously involved in the starting process. A fuzzy controller is designed to identify the starting intention and determine the target torque under different working conditions. The starting process is divided into five periods, and linear quadratic optimal control is adopted to obtain the reference torque trajectory for the third period, while the others are determined by adaptive control by changing the adjustment coefficients according to the starting conditions. The combined pressure feedback controller based on the PID algorithm is proposed to control the wet clutch torque to follow the reference torque trajectory. The MATLAB/Simulink software platform is used to simulate the control strategy. The results show that the proposed strategy can shorten the starting time and reduce the level of jerk. Moreover, with the first-gear starting, the friction work of the whole process and clutch C1 is, respectively, reduced by 1.68% and 4.62% for slowly starting and 23.37% and 23.6% for quickly starting, which can significantly prolong the service lifetime of the clutch compared with the traditional single-clutch starting strategy. Electronically protected health information is held in computerized healthcare records that contain complete healthcare information and are easily shareable or retrieved by various health care providers via the Internet. The two most important concerns regarding their use involve the security of the Internet and the privacy of patients. To protect the privacy of patients, various regions of the world maintain privacy standards. These are set, for example, by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe. Most recently developed authenticated key agreement schemes for HIPAA and GDPR privacy/security involve modular exponential computations or scalar multiplications on elliptic curves to provide higher security, but they are computationally heavy and therefore costly to implement. Recent studies have shown that cryptosystems that use modular exponential computation and scalar multiplication on elliptic curves are less efficient than those based on Chebyshev chaotic maps. Therefore, this investigation develops a secure and efficient non-certificate-based authenticated key agreement scheme that uses lightweight operations, including Chebyshev chaotic maps and hash operations. The proposed scheme overcomes the limitations of alternative schemes, is computationally more efficient, and provides more functionality. Along with the prevalence of photovoltaic (PV) procurement contracts, the corruption between auctioneers and potential electricity suppliers has attracted the attention of energy regulators. This study considers a corruption-proof environment wherein corruption is strictly suppressed. It elaborates a mechanism to explore the impact of corruption-proof measures on PV procurement auctions. It adopts incentive compatible constraints based on revelation principle to reflect PV firms' optimal utilities. It employs first-price and first-score auctions and uses the Bayesian Nash equilibrium to provide a description of market outcomes. The results show that several strategies have different impacts on social welfare, PV firms' utility, and the benefits of corruption. First, a first-price auction cannot act as a suitable policy because it may encourage corruption. Second, the first-score choice is desirable for social welfare to fit the forthcoming high-quality and low-price surroundings. Third, the first-score strategy maximizes PV firms' utility and total income. The implications suggest that regulators ought not to employ first-price auctions in the future PV market from the perspective of social welfare. The 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO/PBR) is a multifunctional evolutionary highly conserved outer mitochondrial membrane protein. Decades of research has reported an obligatory role of TSPO/PBR in both mitochondrial cholesterol transport and, thus, steroid production. However, the strict dependency of steroidogenesis on TSPO/PBR has remained controversial. The aim of this study was to provide insight into the steroid profile in complete C57BL/6-Tspotm1GuWu(GuwiyangWurra)-knockout male mice (TSPO-KO) under basal conditions. The steroidome in the brain, adrenal glands, testes and plasma was measured by gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). We found that steroids present in wild-type (WT) mice were also detected in TSPO-KO mice, including pregnenolone (PREG), progestogens, mineralo-glucocorticosteroids and androgens. The concentrations of PREG and most metabolites were similar between genotypes, except a significant decrease in the levels of the 5α-reduced metabolites of progesterone (PROG) in adrenal glands and plasma and of the 5α-reduced metabolites of corticosterone (B) in plasma in TSPO-KO compared to WT animals, suggesting other regulatory functions for the TSPO/PBR. The expression levels of the voltage-dependent anion-selective channel (VDAC-1), CYP11A1 and 5α-reductase were not significantly different between both groups. Although the combination of polymyxin and tigecycline is widely used in treating carbapenem-resistant bacterial infections, the benefit of this combination is still uncertain. To assess whether adding polymyxin B to the high-dose tigecycline regimen would result in better clinical outcomes than the high-dose tigecycline therapy in patients with pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii, we conducted a propensity score-matched cohort study in a single center between July 2019 and December 2021. Of the 162 eligible patients, 102 were included in the 1:1 matched cohort. The overall 14-day mortality in the matched cohort was 24.5%. Compared with high-dose tigecycline, the combination therapy was not associated with better clinical outcomes, and showed similar 14-day mortality (OR, 0.72, 95% CI 0.27–1.83, p = 0.486), clinical cure (OR, 1.09, 95% CI 0.48–2.54, p = 0.823), microbiological cure (OR, 0.96, 95% CI 0.39–2.53, p = 0.928) and rate of nephrotoxicity (OR 0.85, 95% CI 0.36–1.99, p = 0.712). Subgroup analyses also did not demonstrate any statistical differences. Based on these results, it is reasonable to recommend against adding polymyxin B to the high-dose tigecycline regimen in treating pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae and A. baumannii. The application of self-tapping screws as reinforcement on glulam connections has been proven effective. However, the implication of different thread configurations on the effectiveness of reinforcement remains unknown. This paper conducted experiments using screws with various thread configurations in embedment-strength tests and tensile connection tests. Results show that self-tapping screws with one third of thread achieved similar improvement in the embedment strength and mechanical properties of connections as fully threaded screws. This implies that properly reducing the thread length on self-tapping screws ensures easier screw installation than using fully threaded screws. The influence of screw-to-dowel distance was also investigated and two distances (0.5 d and 1 d) were adopted, with 'd' being the diameter of the dowel. The difference in embedment strength due to different screw-to-dowel distances was insignificant. The group with screws placed in contact (0.5 d) with the dowel achieved 5% higher embedment strength than the group with screws placed at a 1 d distance. The connection tests showed good agreement with the embedment-strength tests. This confirms that self-tapping screws with reduced thread can enhance the load-carrying capacity and ductility of connections to a level similar to connections reinforced by fully threaded screws. The key role of ice in cooking has been neglected. Here, we found negatively charged bulk nanobubbles (BNBs: average size ~60 nm and zeta potential <−20 mV) can be generated in ice-melted water through freeze/thaw-induced cavitation when we studied a local delicacy, 'ice-stewed mutton'. Freeze/thaw-induced BNBs are so robust that they can, in turn, isolate food from water; in this way, they protect and enhance the delicacy by protecting protein structures and preventing flavorful components from being lost. In comparison to cooking with ordinary water, cooking with ice can switch 'stewing' to 'BBQ', which has been proved experimentally via diverse characterization from the nano to micro scale. This study not only provides a novel mechanism for ice-based cooking but also might shed light on the design of potential applications of BNBs in chemical engineering and biomedicine. Streptococcus pneumoniae is one of the most common bacterial pathogens of a wide range of community-acquired infections. It has been more and more recognized that this bacterium could also play a role as a cause of nosocomial infections. In this study, by retrospective analysis of the phenotypic resistance characteristics and genomic characteristics of 52 S. pneumoniae isolates in a hospital in Beijing, China, from 2018 to 2022, we explored the carriage of resistance genes and mutations in penicillin-binding proteins corresponding to the resistances, and identified the population diversity based on the prediction of serotypes and identification of sequence types (STs). The isolates displayed resistances to erythromycin (98%), tetracycline (96%), sulfonamide (72%) and penicillin G (42%). Among the 52 isolates, 41 displayed multiple-drug resistance. In total, 37 STs and 21 serotypes were identified, and the clonal complex 271 serogroup 19 was the most prevalent subtype. Only 24 isolates (46.2%) of 7 serotypes were covered by the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccination. The isolates showed high carriages of resistance genes, including tet(M) (100%) and erm(B) (98.1%); additionally, 32 isolates (61.5%) had mutations in penicillin-binding proteins. We also observed 11 healthcare-associated infections and 3 cases infected by different subtypes of isolates. We did not find nosocomial transmissions between the patients, and these cases might be associated with the asymptomatic colonization of S. pneumoniae in the human population. Hierarchical porous silicon carbide (SiC) attracts great attention due to its superior chemical resistance, high thermal shock resistance, and excellent thermal stability. The preparation of a porous SiC monolith via a simple sol–gel method is limited by either the high cost of the raw materials or the special time-consuming drying process. Herein, we report an ambient drying sol–gel approach for the synthesis of organic–inorganic hybrid monolithic gels which can be converted into hierarchical porous SiC monoliths upon pyrolysis at 1400 °C. The as-synthesized SiC monoliths possess hierarchical pores with macropores of 4.5 µm and mesopores of 2.0 nm. The porosities, specific surface areas and compressive strengths of the hierarchical porous SiC monoliths are 71.3%, 171.5 m2/g and 7.0 ± 0.8 MPa, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
