This article presents the properties of a Ti coating (angle of grain growth, thickness of the deposited layer, adhesion, and roughness of the deposited layer) deposited on the inner surface of a steel tube. The Ti coating was deposited using the EB PVD (electron beam physical vapor deposition) method. The areas in which the measurements were carried out are defined by the height of the measured area under the target (from 305 to 425 mm) and the radius of the tube (from 100 to 140 mm). The measurements showed that the angle of grain growth is in an interval from 40 to 61°. The results of the statistical analysis demonstrate that the height of the measured area and the tube radius significantly impact the angle of grain growth and adhesion. On the other hand, the impact of the height of the measured area and the tube radius on the roughness of the applied coating was not confirmed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article describes a method of obtaining data from the examination of an impact process by capturing it with a TroubleShooter TSHRMM high-speed camera and evaluating the results of a video analysis of the impact of the load on a conveyor belt using MiDAS Player version 5.0.0.3. By using the conveyor belt deflection obtained from the video analysis and the visual damage to the conveyor belt from an impactor, damage classification models were created. This model was created for two groups of experiments that took place without the presence of a support system and with the presence of a support system, respectively. Measurements of the dynamic load of conveyor belts of identical strengths were used to evaluate and compare the data for belts with and without a support system. The goal was to identify the effects of the support system in terms of a relative amount of impact energy absorbed by a conveyor belt. A dynamic model was designed based on selected parameters of the impact process. The nature of a civil aviation occurrence may be defined in three different categories while considering its severity. General categories include civil aviation accidents, serious incidents and incidents. The present article analyses the civil aviation occurrences in Slovakia which happened in the period from 2000 to 2019. In this period, there was a significant increase in the number of civil aviation occurrences, and incidents, in particular, represented the highest percentage. A Pareto analysis was applied to identify the key incident categories (wildlife strike, technical failures of the aviation technology and unauthorised penetration of airspace). A multiple regression analysis and the Poisson regression were used to create two models of correlations between the number of civil aviation occurrences and the selected input variables. Both models are statistically significant, and, based on the AIC (Akaike Information Criterion), the Poisson regression model appeared to be of higher quality. The model showed, for example, that an increase in variables (the number of commercial aircrafts aged over 14 years and the number of total aircraft movements) resulted in a slight increase in the expected number of civil aviation occurrences.
