The growth of government (GoG) has garnered significant attention among scholars and practitioners across disciplines such as economics, political science, and public management. Despite the optimism surrounding this concept, its future trajectory in the twenty-first century remains uncertain. Extant literature explaining the rationales for organizational growth in the public sector is inconclusive which pertains mostly to the absence of an appropriate methodological approach. Therefore, this research underscores the need for a comprehensive framework to examine the determinants of the growth. Particularly, the burgeoning literature on new public management (NPM) as well as behavioural public administration provides huge potentials to examine the role of the interplay of organizational structure and learning orientation in exacting the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on the growth of government on GoG. The conceptual framework was guided by the hermeneutic approach that focuses on interpreting texts or phenomena by understanding the contextual elements to uncover deeper meaning and insights. It does so by drawing upon different streams of literature including entrepreneurial orientation, learning orientation, organizational structure, and the growth of government. In order to operationalize the framework, a succinct set of propositions is proposed. The purpose of this study is to understand the interplay between environmental dynamism, digitalization capability, green entrepreneurial orientation, and sustainable performance by using contingency theory and the dynamic capabilities perspective as a comprehensive theoretical lens. More specifically, this study examines the impact of environmental dynamism on the development of digitalization capability and verifies the mediating role of green entrepreneurial orientation between digitalization capability and sustainable performance. As a result of analyzing 450 Chinese manufacturing firms, it was confirmed that environmental dynamism had a significant positive effect on the development of digitalization capability. In addition, the partial mediation effect of green entrepreneurial orientation on digitalization capability and sustainable performance was also identified. This indicates that firms with a green entrepreneurial orientation can better achieve sustainable development through digitalization capability. As a result, this study provides important implications for promoting sustainable development in both the literature and practice and also presents a contribution to current knowledge. Green entrepreneurial orientation (GEO) is defined as organizations' entrepreneurial efforts to integrate ecologically sustainable practices and values to undertake sustainable decisions and actions to improve their environmental performance. Though recent research has shown how important GEO is for attaining sustainability in a company setting, there is a limited understanding on the factors that determine GEO and how and when it affects a firm's performance. Additionally, it draws attention to unexplored areas of the mediating and moderating factors that affect the connections between GEO and its outcomes. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) of the GEO to synthesize empirical findings about how it is investigated in the literature during the period 2014–2024. The PRISMA method is used in this study to evaluate relevant GEO research, and SLR matrix utilized for analyzing the GEO literature in peer-reviewed English publications. A comprehensive evaluation of theoretical, methodological, and empirical issues pertaining to conceptual approaches, antecedents, dynamics, and results of GEO was conducted on 59 studies. This study contributes several findings to the entrepreneurship literature. These research findings give implications for both theory and practice. Within a theoretical framework, this study provides a comprehensive viewpoint on GEO research and creates novel insights for further research, enhancing the extant theories in the GEO literature. In practice, this study facilitates the perceptions of eco-conscious entrepreneurs, managers and experts, and other stakeholders of the organizations regarding developing an appropriate GEO by understanding the antecedents and outcomes of it for successful organizations and the ways to use and improve them probably. This study aims to understand the multifaceted role of entrepreneurial orientation between institutional pressures, green innovation, and sustainable performance by using institutional theory and the entrepreneurship perspective as a comprehensive theoretical lens. To be more specific, this study not only analyzes the impact of institutional pressures consisting of regulatory, normative, and cognitive pressures on green innovation and the mediating effect of entrepreneurial orientation but also examines the moderating effect of entrepreneurship between green innovation and sustainable performance. Empirical results based on survey data from 483 listed firms in China indicate a positive effect between institutional pressures and green innovation and confirm the mediating effect of entrepreneurial orientation. Meanwhile, between green innovation and sustainable performance, entrepreneurial orientation showed a significant negative moderating effect. Our findings show that institutional pressures can drive corporate green innovation and suggest that entrepreneurial orientation can help achieve green innovation by encouraging them to challenge more innovative environmental practices based on institutional pressure. This study examines the mediating role of green entrepreneurship orientation and the green information system on green supply chain management and firms' environmental performance relationship. It also investigates the moderating role of management support in the above association. The data were gathered from 355 manufacturing employees conveniently via a structured questionnaire administered during the survey. PLS-SEM was employed to analyse the data. Green entrepreneurial orientation and the green information system mediate the green supply chain management and environmental performance relationship. Equally, management support moderates the same association. Applying information technology capabilities (ITC) to business processes is critical in the current data and information age. However, various bottlenecks and barriers restrict the adoption of ITC. To address these obstacles, fostering an entrepreneurial orientation (EO) can be beneficial. Drawing on the dynamic capabilities view, this study develops and tests a model that empirically analyzes how EO influences the adoption of ITC. The proposed model also assesses the separate and joint effects of EO and ITC on firm performance (FP). The research hypotheses were tested using a survey of 157 Chilean firms, and the PLS-SEM method was applied. The findings indicate that EO promotes the development of ITC and that the synergistic relationship between the two positively affects FP. Knowledge plays a pivotal role as a strategic asset for organizations that aim to improve and sustain competitive advantage. Despite the implementation of knowledge management systems to promote knowledge sharing, many employees exhibit knowledge-hiding behavior, deliberately withholding crucial information in the workplace. In this context, the current study aims to investigate the impact of knowledge-hiding behavior on entrepreneurial orientation (EO) within organizations. Specifically, we seek to explore how knowledge hiding influences employees' inclination towards entrepreneurial behaviors such as innovation, risk-taking, and proactiveness. By examining the potential negative effects of knowledge hiding on entrepreneurial behaviors, we aim to identify barriers to innovation and risk taking in organizations. Furthermore, we examine the mediating role of factual autonomy in the relationship between knowledge hiding and entrepreneurial orientation. Understanding the mediating role of factual autonomy can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms through which knowledge hiding impacts entrepreneurial behavior. Additionally, we aimed to investigate the impact of knowledge hiding on organizational-level outcomes, specifically entrepreneurial orientation, and job autonomy. To investigate this phenomenon, we conducted a cross-sectional multilevel study involving 214 employees from 16 different companies in the Romanian business sector, including telecom, banking, retail, services, and IT&C. Our findings reveal that knowledge hiding has a significant impact on job autonomy and entrepreneurial orientation. The proposed model accounted for 45.9% of the variance in entrepreneurial orientation and 37.7% of the variance in job autonomy. These results have important implications for both theory and practice, highlighting the need for further exploration into how knowledge hiding impacts different aspects of organizational work design. The present examination serves as a valuable research platform for understanding the multidimensional irregularities within organizations and highlights the importance of addressing knowledge hiding behavior to foster a culture of innovation and risk-taking in organizations. The promotion of entrepreneurial orientation among college faculty members is crucial for the sustainable growth and success of the organization in a competitive higher education market. Despite numerous studies that reported on the effect of entrepreneurial orientation, there is limited research specific to college organizations in a competitive higher education setting. This study aimed to explore the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation among faculty members and organizational performance at colleges located outside of the Seoul metropolitan area in South Korea. To achieve this goal, data were collected through an online survey administered to 466 faculty members at 25 colleges surrounding Seoul between July and October 2022. Statistical analyses, including descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, were conducted using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 software. The results showed a positive impact of innovativeness in entrepreneurial orientation on college competitiveness and organizational commitment, proactiveness in entrepreneurial orientation on college competitiveness, and risk-taking in entrepreneurial orientation on both college competitiveness and organizational commitment. These findings suggest that promoting faculty members' entrepreneurial orientation and supporting their innovative efforts can benefit college organizations in a competitive higher education environment. The textile industry of Pakistan, a major contributor to its economy, is encountering serious sustainability challenges, akin to many developing nations. The literature is replete with assertions on the importance of sustainability; however, cross-functional research is sporadic. This paper theoretically links Green HRM (GHRM) practices, Green SCM (GSCM) practices, and Triple Bottom Line (TBL) performance within this context. In scaffolding through Resource Orchestration (ROT) and Dynamic Capabilities (DCT) theories, a conceptual framework is proposed. We posit that GSCM transforms GHRM practices into tangible, eco-friendly supply chain activities resulting in enhanced sustainable performance, thereby playing a mediating role. Additionally, a unique interplay of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) as a moderator between GHRM and GSCM is introduced. Firms with higher levels of EO employ innovative approaches to implement GHRM practices into their supply chain strategies, leading to robust GSCM initiatives. The literature review indicates that research on the synergistic effects of GHRM and GSCM on TBL performance in developing nations is scarce. The study warrants carrying out empirical validation and provides a clear plan for future research. Nowadays, the attitude of companies seems to play a relevant role in detecting and exploiting opportunities to create value, especially in terms of knowledge and cooperation. Thereon, the concept of entrepreneurial orientation has become relevant over the last years. Firms are entrepreneurially oriented when their decision-making, techniques, and procedures allow them to identify opportunities, develop a proactive mindset, and use creative ways to achieve their objectives. The purpose of this paper is to empirically analyze the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and companies' innovation capacity, in addition to the mediating effect of entrepreneurial networks and firms' learning capacity in this relationship. A sample of 197 Spanish companies in the energy sector is analyzed using the variance-based structural equation modeling technique (PLS-SEM), using the software "SmartPLS" in its version 3.9. The results show a direct positive and significant influence of entrepreneurial orientation on companies' innovation capacity, as well as the existence of an indirect effect through the mediation of entrepreneurial networks and the learning capacity of firms. It is concluded that businesses must dedicate time and resources to develop a strong entrepreneurial orientation which, in addition to allowing them to exploit external entrepreneurial networks, boosts their learning and innovation capabilities, favoring the development of new sustainable possibilities for value creation. This study aims to explore potential mechanisms of ambidextrous leadership (AL) in product innovativeness from the perspective of organizational agility (OA) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in firms operating in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. A quantitative research method was used with 405 questionnaires, and the respondents were randomly selected from reputable databases. Structural equation modeling was employed to evaluate the model fit and conduct hypothesis testing. The findings suggest that ambidextrous leadership demonstrates a significant positive influence on product innovativeness and OA; also, through the mediating role of OA, it is possible to analyze both the direct and indirect relationships among the factors. Additionally, the moderating effect of EO on the intercorrelations among these factors was explored. This study enhances existing knowledge on leadership dynamics in the context of new product development, highlights the importance of adaptability in leadership, and sheds light on the interplay between OA, EO, and new product innovation. This study highlights the role of product innovativeness in sustainable AI product development. Enhanced product innovativeness not only sustains AI product development but also promotes environmental sustainability. This is achieved through the minimization of energy use, reduction in material requirements, and prevention of pollution. Firms are using these insights to develop sustainable and eco-friendly products, as well as create new market opportunities while reducing environmental impact. Social innovation as an outcome of social entrepreneurship represents the primary drive of social enterprises (SEs). In the emergent context of a digitally transforming entrepreneurship scenario, this study intends to investigate the role of digital capabilities (DC) in social innovation performance (SIP) in SEs while considering the underlying effects of a firm-level entrepreneurial orientation (EO). Utilizing a quantitative survey approach, the study acquired a total of 344 valid responses from SEs in Saudi Arabia. The data analysis performed through partial least square structural equation modeling (SmartPLS 3.0) revealed that DC have no direct impact on SIP in SEs. However, DC influence SIP through the full mediation effects of EO dimensions of social proactiveness, and social innovativeness. The mediation effects of social risk-taking on the DC-SIP relationship were not established. This work is the first to conceptualize and test a theoretical framework linking the DC and EO constructs concerning SIP in SEs. Most research on open innovation focuses on innovation performance. However, few people have explored the driving factor of open innovation. This study is based on the entrepreneurial perspective, combined with the new institutional theory, taking 243 A-share listed military-civilian integration companies in China from 2016–2020. A multiple linear regression method is used to discuss the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on the open innovation of military-civilian integration enterprises, and the mediating role of organizational legitimacy. The empirical research results show that: entrepreneurial orientation positively influences the open innovation of military-civilian integration enterprises; political relevance plays a mediating role in the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on open innovation; compared with the military-to-civilian enterprises, political relevance is more important to the civilian-to-military enterprises. The research findings can not only enrich the open innovation theory but also have an important guiding significance for the military-civilian integration technology innovation in China. Most research on institutional pressure focuses on mature enterprises. However, compared with mature enterprises, new ventures are more sensitive to institutional pressure due to their lack of legitimacy. Based on the theoretical path of "environment–strategy–performance", this study investigated the influence of institutional pressure on entrepreneurial performance as well as the mediating role of green entrepreneurial orientation and the moderating role of network centrality. An empirical analysis based on 288 survey samples from China showed the following: coercive pressure has not only a direct positive impact but also an indirect positive impact on entrepreneurial performance through green entrepreneurial orientation; normative pressure and mimetic pressure positively affect entrepreneurial performance through green entrepreneurial orientation; green entrepreneurial orientation has a positive impact on entrepreneurial performance; network centrality positively regulates the relationships between coercive pressure, mimetic pressure, normative pressure and green entrepreneurial orientation. The paper concluded by highlighting the importance of the conclusions for new ventures to improve their performance as well as for policy makers to optimize the institutional environment for entrepreneurship. The beneficial relationship of entrepreneurial orientation with performance has been extensively acknowledged in the literature. However, empirical evidence is not straightforward and requires consideration of the interplay of different variables, context, and rationales through which this causal complexity of the performance-enhancing mechanism of entrepreneurial orientation influences firm performance. In this paper we examine the way the entrepreneurial behavior of the organization unfolds and affects performance through specific configurations resulting from the simultaneous interaction of strategic networking and dynamic environment in the setting of Southeast European SMEs. We apply hierarchical regression to a sample of 963 small and medium-sized enterprises. Empirical findings provide support for applying the configurational approach and show that companies of high entrepreneurial orientation and high strategic networking operating in a dynamic environment achieve the highest effect on a business performance. Research results further indicate that strategic networking is a mechanism that achieves the greatest efficiency in a dynamic environment and with the presence of a firm's entrepreneurial orientation. Despite scholarly debates on the role of entrepreneurial orientation, its effect on new venture performance remains largely understudied, particularly in the context of emerging economies. Determining this association is crucial and has an important implication for scholars and managers of SMEs to increase performance. Therefore, using the resource-based view and upper-echelon theories, this study examines this link by considering the mediating role of opportunity exploitation and the moderating role of transformational leadership in the case of an emerging market in Lebanon. The resource-based view theory discusses the importance of intangible and tangible resources in obtaining a sustainable competitive edge. The upper-echelon theory also connects the attributes of firm performance and top employee management. To achieve this purpose, we conducted a comprehensive survey of 411 managers and owners, 346 of whom were men and 65 of whom were women, of SMEs in the top five provinces of North Lebanon, South Lebanon, Mount Lebanon, Beirut, and Bekaa, where the majority of SMEs are located. This study also collected the data in 2022 and performed moderated mediation analysis to probe this nexus. The empirical results show that entrepreneurial orientation has a positive direct and indirect (through opportunity exploitation) effect on new venture performance. Furthermore, it reveals that opportunity exploitation has a positive effect on new venture performance and partially mediates the entrepreneurial orientation–new venture performance nexus. Furthermore, the results highlight that transformational leadership moderates the direct entrepreneurial orientation–new venture performance nexus, and the positive relationship is stronger for managers (or owners) with higher-level transformational leadership. Moreover, the results reveal that transformational leadership moderates the indirect effect between entrepreneurial orientation and new venture performance through opportunity exploitation, and the extent of the indirect effect is enhanced for managers (or owners) with higher-level transformational leadership. The results are robust and have important policy implications. The current research offers crucial managerial implications for the management of SMEs by paying attention to significant drivers of entrepreneurial orientation and opportunity exploitation. The findings also suggest that entrepreneurs and managers of new ventures must transform their entrepreneurial strategic posture into opportunity exploitation behaviors by pinpointing market inefficiencies and consumer needs, launching novel products and services, and taking advantage of opportunities for new products to enter the market to maximize financial gain. This study explores how a state-based franchisee association of a multinational quick-service restaurant franchisor introduced three world-first innovations through the activation of the five dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation (EO). The antecedents to this activation were also explored. A historical extended case study focusing on a revelatory case was undertaken. In-depth analysis using a rigorous qualitative methodology was facilitated by the triangulation of informant interviews, publicly available data, archival data, and artefacts. The three innovations explored involved the apparent activation of all five dimensions of EO by the franchisee association. The franchisee association's structure and the provenance of its franchisee members, in being either externally recruited or internally recruited, appeared to have a bearing on whether product or process innovations were pursued. Five antecedents that enhance the propensity of franchisee associations to activate the dimensions of EO were also identified, and a preliminary model was constructed. Whilst the EO of franchisors and franchisees has previously been examined, this study is the first to explore franchisee associations as a vehicle for EO. With around 75% of franchisors incorporating some form of franchisee association, better understanding how to harness their innovative potential could bestow a competitive advantage upon those franchise systems able to do so. Through the methodology of a case study, this paper presents a holistic analysis of the relationship between innovation capacity, entrepreneurial orientation, flexibility, and environmental factors. Three studies were conducted in the context of chemical-pharmaceutical industries, SMEs, in a small economy. Likewise, they analyze the relationship between the innovation capacity and internationalization of those companies. The studies provide further evidence of the relationships between areas of interest, where links among entrepreneurial orientation, flexibility, externalities (local and international), and innovation capacity are clear. Finally, this paper contributes to the theory-building on innovation capacity and internationalization from a scholarly perspective while presenting a practical view for practitioners. Amid changes in the business environment and increased competition, sustainable innovation has become the key for new ventures to survive and develop. Innovation capability is considered to be closely related to entrepreneurial orientation and organizational learning. However, there was no in-depth analysis of sustainable innovation capability from an ambidextrous perspective to distinguish from traditional single-episode innovation and no systematic empirical study to explore the internal relationship among the three factors mentioned above in a new venture scenario. Employing the ambidextrous perspective, this paper explored the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on the sustainable innovation capabilities of new ventures and examined the mediating effect of ambidextrous learning. Using the multisource data of 279 new ventures from China, this paper empirically tested the research hypothesis. The results showed that: (1) The three dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation have a significant positive impact on the sustainable innovation capability of new ventures; (2) Ambidextrous learning partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the sustainable innovation capability of new ventures; (3) Both the equilibrium and interaction effects of ambidextrous learning positively affect the sustainable innovation capability of new ventures. This study clarified the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the sustainable innovation capability of new ventures, emphasized the equilibrium and interaction in ambidextrous learning, and provided theoretical support for new ventures to form and develop sustainable innovation capability. Social entrepreneurship is becoming widely recognized as essential to developing economies and societies. However, we find that the lack of a clear and cohesive conceptualization for understanding the distinctive context and reliable role of social entrepreneurship is a challenging aspect. Furthermore, the research is lacking in developing country perspectives. Accordingly, this study argues that a social entrepreneurship conceptual model needs to be developed from a developing country perspective to advance the literature on the social entrepreneurship notion. Specifically, this study followed a qualitative research approach and conducted in-person semi-structured interviews with 24 Sri Lankan social enterprises by adopting the maximum variation sampling technique. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Consequently, our model explicates how social entrepreneurial orientation leads to the triple bottom line through dynamic capability and social innovation. The proposed model anticipates that social entrepreneurial orientation alone cannot achieve the triple bottom line in social entrepreneurship. Thus, based on existing research evidence, we believe that the following constructs—social entrepreneurial orientation, dynamic capabilities, social innovations, and the triple bottom line—can be integrated to provide a solid conceptual model for social entrepreneurial ventures in developing countries. Many academic studies have focused on exploring various interactions between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and firm performance, where, in general, the findings confirmed their existence to be of positive character. However, many authors indicated a need to further test the possibilities concerning the nonlinearity between EO and firm performance. Moreover, since many research studies on this topic have been conducted in developed countries, there is still a need for such studies in developing countries, especially in the region of southeast Europe. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the existence of nonlinearity between EO and subjective financial performance among SMEs in southeastern European countries. Data was collected from decisionmakers of the 963 SMEs operating in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Proposed hypotheses were tested using hierarchical linear regression analysis. Research results confirmed existence of the positive direct relationship EO has on financial performance, including the positive effects on sales growth and profit-to-sales ratio. On the other hand, results have not confirmed existence of nonlinearity effects that EO has on financial performance, sales growth, nor on the profit-to-sales ratio. The paper investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and sustainable firm performance with the mediating role of innovation output in family and non-family businesses in the post-transition economy. In order to analyze these relationships, quantitative research on a sample of 322 Polish organizations was conducted. The research results show a few differences between family and non-family businesses concerning the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on innovativeness and sustainable organizational performance. The study objective is to empirically examine the mediating role of organizational culture on entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and business performance relationships in Algerian manufacturing SMEs. A sample of 180 Algerian Small medium enterprise (SME) owners/managers was collected for the year 2021 by using structured questionnaires. This study has contributed to the existing theory by evaluating the mediating role of Organizational Culture (OC) by using interaction effect in partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results have supported the hypothesized direct and mediate relationship: Entrepreneurial Orientation has the highest effect on the Organizational culture. On the other hand, Entrepreneurial Orientation has a medium influence on business performance. In addition, Organizational culture has a medium influence on business performance. Additionally, Entrepreneurial orientation and organizational culture together explain 50.2% of the variances for the business performance construct. On the other hand, 38.9% of the variances are explained by the entrepreneurial orientation for the organizational culture construct. Their relationship receives considerable scholarly attention in the literature, but few studies have been conducted among Algerian manufacturing SMEs. Hence, this investigation's purpose is to add to the research in the newer context of Algeria. Thus, this study was an attempt to bridge this gap in the literature. This study can be used to supplement existing theories on organizational culture and small-business performance. This paper discovers an excellent link between entrepreneurial orientation and small and medium enterprise performance, with organizational culture as a partial mediating factor. This research also has significant implications for academics and practitioners to understand better entrepreneurial orientation, organizational culture perspectives, and organizational performance. In the changing market environment due to the fourth industrial revolution, entrepreneurial orientation and innovation can accelerate the company's sustainable growth, and performance improvement through the mutual relationship between leaders and members is essential. This study investigated the effect of the innovation behavior of entrepreneurial orientation on job performance by focusing on the conditional indirect effect of leader-member exchange (LMX) in the mediated relationship. To this end, research data were collected from 324 employees from different SMEs in South Korea. Based on the results, entrepreneurial orientation had a positive effect on innovation behavior and job performance. In addition, it was found that innovation behavior had a positive effect on job performance and partially mediated the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and job performance. LMX showed a conditional indirect effect in the mediated model and moderated the relationship between risk-taking and job performance. The results have significant implications for SMEs pursuing entrepreneurial orientation, which was discussed. This research seeks to investigate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation dimensions (behavioral dimension EOBD and attitudinal dimension EOAD) and firm performance (FP) through a sequential mediation model of innovation capability (IC) and firm resilience capability (FRC) in a specific context. Sample data for this study were collected using a questionnaire survey from 225 randomly selected SMEs in Saudi Arabia and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results revealed that there are significant relationships between EO dimensions and IC. No direct relationships were found between EO dimensions and FRC or between EOAD and FP. Therefore, IC plays a mediating role in the relationships between EO dimensions and FRC. In addition, FRC does not play a mediating role in the relationships between EO dimensions and FP. On the contrary, it plays a partial mediation between IC and FP. To our knowledge, little research has investigated simultaneously the effects of EO, IC, FRC and FP in the Saudi context. Our study contributes to the literature on entrepreneurship, innovation and resilience by providing new empirical evidence. Based upon social identity theory, having a strategic entrepreneurial orientation is crucial for ventures seeking funding, since entrepreneurial orientation (viewed as an entrepreneurial organizational culture) has a significant influence on investors' decision-making for resource allocation. However, the attitude of investors toward women entrepreneurs' behavioral orientation is controversial. Women entrepreneurs may not benefit from specific behavioral orientations because of gender bias. In this study, we had a sample of 5105 'design and technology' campaigns with explicit gender information on Kickstarter, utilizing a computer-aided text analysis dictionary of entrepreneurial orientation to examine whether the five dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation signals affected the relationship between women entrepreneurs and their performance in reward-based crowdfunding. Our findings demonstrated that investors tended to support women entrepreneurs who displayed many of the signals for autonomy and risk-taking, while backers were skeptical of women entrepreneurs displaying a high number of the signals for proactiveness. This study will enable an in-depth understanding of the link between investors' decision-making and women's entrepreneurial behaviors, in addition to determining which specific entrepreneurial behavior is important for helping women entrepreneurs to obtain funding in the context of reward-based crowdfunding, from a practical perspective. Entrepreneurial orientation influences the development of organizations and the need to undertake it implies assuming certain risks for entrepreneurs who must respond to the constant dynamism of the business world in search of new opportunities for success. The objective was to find the conditions for and against the entrepreneurial orientation that exists in the State of Hidalgo, through the opinion of 300 experts in entrepreneurship. A measuring instrument was used and adapted in 2019 by the National Network of MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) of the Consortium of Mexican Universities (CUMEX), based on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and the information was collected through an online questionnaire. The main results show the need to strengthen entrepreneurial orientation, improving aspects regarding financing, government programs, the opening of the internal market and regulations, and social and cultural issues; likewise, an important finding is that the generalized perception of this phenomenon is more positive than if each dimension is analyzed in a particular way, along with the factors that compose it. The corona crisis caused discontinuity within the financial sector, which has further increased the importance of innovation for sustainability and the capability to manage discontinuity. The aim of this research is to investigate how the corona crisis affected the relationship between sustainability-oriented innovation, sustainable entrepreneurial orientation, and absorptive capacity in the financial sector. Empirical research was carried out in the Dutch financial sector during the corona crisis by means of semi-structured interviews with senior managers, semi-structured group interviews with employees, observations, and documentation. The results of this qualitative exploratory case-study research show that the corona crisis has caused discontinuity for the case organization, which has led to an increase in uncertainty and a decrease in risk appetite. However, the degree of proactivity, innovativeness, knowledge adaptation, knowledge acquisition, knowledge exploitation, and knowledge transformation have also increased as a result of the corona crisis. Therefore, the case organization was able to manage discontinuity and realize more sustainability-oriented innovation. Findings seem to indicate that for the case organization, the corona crisis had a predominantly positive effect on (the relationship between) sustainability-oriented innovation, sustainable entrepreneurial orientation, and absorptive capacity. In the 21st century, small and medium service firms face difficulty sustaining their performance. Additionally, the literature on entrepreneurial orientation (EO) in SMEs is scarce. Moreover, the role of cost leadership strategy as a mediator lacks researchers' attention. Therefore, this research aims to examine the relationship between EO and SMEs performance with the mediating role of cost leadership strategy. Based on the contingency theory, a theoretical model has been drawn. A survey approach with a questionnaire technique has been adapted to achieve the study objectives. The data were collected from 283 service SMEs in three states of Malaysia. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique was employed to analyze the empirical data. The study findings highlight that risk-taking and open innovation have no direct relationship with SMEs' performance. However, through the mediation role of cost leadership, risk-taking and open innovation have a significant association with performance. Furthermore, the findings indicate that proactiveness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy have a positive and direct relationship with performance, whereas in the presence of cost leadership, competitive aggressiveness has a partial mediating effect. This study investigates the effect of entrepreneurial orientation (EO; one of the most broadly acknowledged firm-level constructs) on the performance of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore, we analyze the moderator effect of creating shared value (CSV) on firm performance. Our analysis was conducted using a structural equation model on a stratified sampling method of 294 manufacturing and service SMEs in Korea. The results show that an SME's efforts in some variables in EO constructs are statistically positively related to both its financial (economic benefits) and non-financial performance (social benefits). Our study results also reveal that there is a significant positive moderator effect of CSV on the EO-performance relationship. This implies that CSV, when bundled with EO, can boost firm performance and provide SMEs with not only a competitive and sustainable advantage but also reduces their risk. This research contributes to the extant literature by investigating the interactive effect of CSV on the relationship between EO and firm performance in the context of SMEs, which has received scant attention in the extant literature. Traditional energy consumption raises greenhouse gas emissions, which is a major concern in China. Agricultural energy consumption accounts for one third of China's greenhouse gas emissions. Thus, current patterns of energy consumption on farms are both unsustainable and inadequate since rural communities in emerging nations have limited access to energy sources. This study explores the factors affecting the adoption of renewable energy on farms and examines the effect of such adoption on technical efficiency. The data were collected from 801 farmers selected through a multistage random and purposive sampling method in a face-to-face survey in China. Logistic regression, data envelopment analysis and propensity score matching were used to analyze the data. The descriptive statistics depicted that renewable energy technology was adopted by more than 25% of the total farmers. The logistic regression results depicted that education, farm size, government financial support, perceptions of renewable energy (usefulness, cost effectiveness, environmental friendliness and information availability) and farmer entrepreneurial orientation dimensions (risk-taking, innovativeness and pro-activeness) all significantly affected the adoption of renewable energy technology on farms. Farmers who perceived renewable energy as more useful and cost-effective than conventional energy technology were 1.89 and 2.13 times more likely to adopt it on their farms, respectively. Farmers who perceived renewable energy as more environmentally friendly than traditional energy technology were 1.54 times more likely to use it on their farms. The findings also showed that innovative farmers were 2.24 times more likely to adopt renewable energy technology on their farms. The propensity score matching results showed that the technical efficiency of adopters of renewable energy was 10% higher than that of nonadopters. The study suggests that agriculture must be transformed to fulfill the existing and forthcoming demand for food and energy in an impartial and ecologically sustainable manner. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to examine the role of the knowledge management process as a mediating variable in the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance. This study employed a quantitative method and utilised a self-administered questionnaire. A total of 350 data were collected from the owners/founders of online businesses. A Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed to test the proposed hypotheses of the study. The findings indicated that entrepreneurial orientation positively the knowledge management process, which in turn exerts a positive effect on the organizational performance of a company. Additionally, the indirect effect analysis revealed that the knowledge management process plays a significant role as a mediator between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance. The research fills a gap in the literature by considering a mediating variable in enhancing the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance. Over-reliance on hired jobs in the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy has discouraged most graduates from becoming entrepreneurs. This leads to unemployment, poverty and low economic growth that breed insecurity. Drawing from the formative perspective, this study analyzed the mediating role of self-efficacy (SELF) and the moderating effect of entrepreneurial support (ENTSP) in relation to individual-level entrepreneurial orientation (ILEO; innovativeness, risk taking and proactiveness) and venture creation (VC) among Nigerian graduates. A reflective/formative type II method was applied to test the model's relationships using 291 survey responses. The result of partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) reveals that the indirect relationship between ILEO and VC through SELF was positive and significant but negatively moderated by ENTSP, implying that not all instances of ILEO will result in VC through SELF because ILEO can directly lead to VC. The finding also indicates ENTSP did not have an impact on strengthening the relationship between SELF and VC. A limitation lies in the chosen method that weakens the generalizability of the result, but future studies considering a longitudinal survey are suggested. This study extends the entrepreneurial orientation model to enhance the venture creation literature theoretically and practically. Microenterprises' internal capability landscape and how it relates to the firms' global performance (GP) is sparsely studied and understood. Discrete relationships between a capability and GP may have some empirical evidence, but how microenterprises' capabilities quantitatively relate to each other and together to GP still had no answer. Our model investigates the impact of dynamic managerial capabilities (DMCs) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) on operational capabilities (OCs), and of those on GP, moderated by competitive intensity (CI). The data were acquired in a survey by questionnaire to 402 Portuguese microenterprises and treated using covariance-based structural equation modeling. We confirm that DMCs and EO have a positive, statistically significant, and substantive impact on OCs, explaining over half its variance, where any relation to GP is fully mediated by OCs. Furthermore, we found that OCs hold a positive, statistically significant, and substantive impact on GP, explaining nearly a quarter of its variance. CI as a moderator, with a marginal effects analysis, shows limited significance in a short range of values and never any substantive significance. Our results highlight that, for a healthy microenterprise business ecosystem, a great deal of attention and capacitation must be given to microenterprises' managers, specifically their DMCs, EO, and, eventually, OCs. Entrepreneurship has become a key part of economies, and having an entrepreneurial orientation for SMEs is essential for success. EO and dimensions may differ in different cultures and different countries, thus a cross-cultural validation is suggested by the existing literature, which is lacking Malaysian perspectives. The objective of this study is to examine the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and business performances of Malay-based SMEs in Malaysia and used the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach for data analysis. The research model for this study was drawn from the literature on entrepreneurship. This study identified five entrepreneurial orientations and tested hypotheses on which EO has a significant influence on business performance with empirical data from a sample of 407 Malay-based SMEs in Malaysia. The PLS regression analysis shows that risk-taking, proactiveness, innovativeness, and achievement factors are the significant elements of entrepreneurship orientation. Nevertheless, one independent variable, i.e., autonomy does not exhibit any relationship. This study offers a significant contribution to the current literature by empirically analyzing the link between the subcomponent of EO and business performance, specifically in the Malaysian SME sector, which has not been explored comprehensively. The paper's interesting findings can serve to remind entrepreneurs that they cannot neglect the element of EO in their activities, particularly the success of the business. The research could be useful for policymakers to obtain some ideas and develop policies to help SMEs in Malaysia. Specifically, to enhance the performance in the SMEs sectors, the government should enforce easy to use, consistent, and standardized policies in all SMEs sectors and for all other stakeholders in boosting these sectors. Amid global disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, entrepreneurship is more important than ever before, believed to be a key driver of economic development and recovery as well as poverty alleviation. However, although research on entrepreneurial benefits is becoming well-established, our understanding of the effects of specific social processes on entrepreneurial orientation is fairly limited. The research gap is even larger in an ethnic entrepreneurship setting. This study, therefore, aims to understand the impact of social capital on entrepreneurial orientation through self-efficacy in Dayak, the indigenous ethnic, non-Malay people of Borneo. Utilizing a survey, we found that social capital is positively related to entrepreneurial orientation, and self-efficacy was found to mediate this relationship. Kinship or regional ties among Dayak group members foster social capital in the form of trust, solidarity, and reciprocal obligations. However, although Dayaks are willing to learn and participate in economic activities, including becoming entrepreneurs, they are unlikely to take initiative due to both financial and non-financial obstacles. For these reasons, we suggest an institutional economic approach, designing a specific educational program to help improve the Dayak's self-efficacy in escalating their entrepreneurship commitment. The stiff competition in the market, and continuous pressures from various stakeholders such as customers, business owners, environmental authorities, and society, in general, to produce unique products and services, protect the environment, and obtain competitive advantage continue to challenge the sustainability of enterprises in the market, especially the small ones. The study targeted a sample of 284 small entrepreneurs across various regions of Saudi Arabia. The responses were collected with a convenience sample through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings revealed that both green entrepreneurial self-efficacy (GESE) and green entrepreneurial orientation (GEO) have a positive relationship with green innovation (GI). Digital business transformation is considered an effective business strategy that appears to have gained attention since the enterprises are challenged to continuously improve their business practices as well as capabilities. The use of digital technologies could reduce the influence of external crises and could introduce massive changes in business operations by providing better business models. Moreover, adopting digital technology can influence both economic sustainability and social value of enterprises and can improve regional socio-economic conditions. There are few recent studies on how technology can empower enterprises at different phases of growth and sustainability; furthermore, very few studies are available that determine how adopting different modern digital technologies can create value for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Therefore, this study aims to close this gap and investigate the moderating role of entrepreneurial orientation. With the support of resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capability view (DCV) theories, along with a literature review, a theoretical model has been developed. It was then validated using the PLS-SEM technique considering 319 respondents who are SME employees in India. The findings show that adopting digital technologies has a significant impact on the creation of economic sustainability and social value for SMEs. Using a survey of 324 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the Yangtze River Delta in China, this study discusses the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, absorptive capacity, environmental dynamism, and corporate technological innovation performance. The results based on a moderated moderation model show that the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation performance is significantly positive. The absorptive capacity can positively moderate this relationship. Digital transformation is important not only in the manufacturing sector but can also help service-based organizations to achieve competitive advantage. Therefore, this study has examined the impact of digital transformation on competitive advantage and the mediating role of entrepreneurial orientation. Innovation capability is considered a moderator between digital transformation and competitive advantage. The data for the research were gathered from service companies in Jordan, and AMOS was utilized for the analysis. The results revealed that digital transformation not only influences competitive advantage but also affects entrepreneurial orientation. Entrepreneurial orientation significantly mediates the relationship between digital transformation and competitive advantage. In addition, innovation capabilities moderate the relationship between digital transformation, competitive advantage, and entrepreneurial orientation. Since environmental issues are becoming an integral part of business performances, policymakers and managers have started recognizing the importance of green innovation towards sustainable business performances. The role of the automotive parts industry is crucial in minimizing environmental degradation and promoting sustainable development. Yet few studies have focused on the connection between green entrepreneurial orientation and green innovation that may affect small and medium enterprise (SME) business performance. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of green entrepreneurial orientation on green innovations, and its effects on sustainable business performances in the automotive parts industry in Thailand. The sample consists of 226 SMEs in the automotive parts industry in Thailand. The partial least square method (PLS-SEM) has been used for the analysis of data. The results of the study show that green innovations have the strongest influence on economic and environmental performances. This study contributes to resource-based view theory by incorporating green innovation as a strategic competency of SMEs' performance. This paper analyzes the dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation in Furniture SMEs in East Java, Indonesia, towards competitive advantage. This study uses a quantitative approach with the survey method. This study uses primary data that is self-reported using a self-administered survey by distributing questionnaires directly to 84 owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) Furniture in Western East Java, Indonesia. A measurement used the structural equation model (SmartPLS 3.0) to analyze data. Five hypotheses were proposed, and only four had positive significant and positive effects on competitive advantage, that is, the influence of entrepreneurial orientation consisting of proactiveness, innovativeness, aggressiveness, and autonomy. In contrast, the hypothesis related to risk-taking towards the competitive advantage of SMEs Furniture has no positive and significant effect. The findings of this study show that the dominant influence of the entrepreneurial orientation dimension is aggressiveness. The theoretical implication of this research is that furniture business players need to continuously improve their aggressiveness in entrepreneurship according to the theoretical findings in this study, such as introducing innovative products made from local materials and following market trends. This research adds to the theory of aggressiveness in entrepreneurship to encourage innovations that will make industries that use local natural resources more competitively and help government policies. Aggressiveness is required by the furniture business to improve competitiveness for a labor-intensive industry with reliable local content to spur economic growth in Indonesia. Entrepreneurial orientation has become an enormously significant construct in the innovation studies literature. Predominantly for SMEs, its role has been widely recognized in almost all regional contexts across the globe. The present study is aimed at investigating the effects of entrepreneurial orientation, transformational leadership and organizational commitment on innovation performance. The data for the present study were collected from 1095 employees working at various levels in SMEs. The present study used partial least square structural equation modeling to examine the constructed hypotheses. The findings suggested the significantly positive direct relationships among entrepreneurial orientations, organizational commitment and innovation performance. Besides, organizational commitment positively mediated the relationships between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation performance. Additionally, this study also found the significant moderation of transformational leadership among entrepreneurship orientation and organizational commitment. Leaders of small and medium-sized enterprises should practice entrepreneurial orientation (innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking) and transformation leadership (articulating a compelling vision, focus on goal achievement, and creative problem solving) to enhance the innovation performance of their firms. Moreover, this study provides a robust mechanism for leaders at SMEs to develop strategies for enhancing the willingness of the firms to bring innovation and offer new products and services. The policymakers should enhance the emotional attachment of employees with their firms, sense of moral obligation to remain with the firm which will, in turn, increase the organizational commitment of employees for innovation performance. Globally, environmental regulatory pressures are mounting, eliciting concern for their effects on migrant workers who return home to found businesses. These entrepreneurial migrants contribute to rural economic growth and urbanization, yet concurrently confront the challenge of stringent environmental rules. The study aims to dissect the environmental regulatory pressure's influence on the legitimacy of these entrepreneurial migrants and the underlying mechanisms. It further investigates the role of a green entrepreneurial orientation as a mediator and the moderating influence of entrepreneurial narratives on this relationship. Utilizing quantitative research methodologies, the analysis is grounded in extensive, firsthand data from an empirical study of migrant entrepreneurs. The findings corroborate a direct link between environmental regulatory pressure and the legitimacy of migrant entrepreneurs while highlighting the mitigating impact of green orientation and the moderating role of narratives. Specifically, environmental regulatory pressure significantly enhances the legitimacy of migrant entrepreneurs. Green entrepreneurial orientation buffers this impact, while entrepreneurial narratives moderate the relationship. This research offers a novel theoretical framework for comprehending the legitimacy dynamics of migrant entrepreneurs amidst environmental regulation and provides actionable guidance for these entrepreneurs to pursue green entrepreneurship in compliance with regulatory demands.
