Advancements in wireless communication and automation have revolutionized mobility systems, notably through autonomous vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). UAV spatial coordinates, determined via Global Positioning System (GPS) signals, are susceptible to cyberattacks due to unencrypted and unauthenticated transmissions with GPS spoofing being a significant threat. To mitigate these vulnerabilities, intrusion detection systems (IDSs) for UAVs have been developed and enhanced using machine learning (ML) algorithms. However, Adversarial Machine Learning (AML) has introduced new risks by exploiting ML models. This study presents a UAV-IDS employing AML methodology to enhance the detection and classification of GPS spoofing attacks. The key contribution is the development of an AML detection model that significantly improves UAV system robustness and security. Our findings indicate that the model achieves a detection accuracy of 98%, demonstrating its effectiveness in managing large-scale datasets and complex tasks. Wireless physical layer authentication has emerged as a promising approach to wireless security. The topic of wireless node classification and recognition has experienced significant advancements due to the rapid development of deep learning techniques. The potential of using deep learning to address wireless security issues should not be overlooked due to its considerable capabilities. Nevertheless, the utilization of this approach in the classification of wireless nodes is impeded by the lack of available datasets. In this study, we provide two models based on a data-driven approach. First, we used generative adversarial networks to design an automated model for data augmentation. Second, we applied a convolutional neural network to classify wireless nodes for a wireless physical layer authentication model. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, we assessed our results using an original dataset as a baseline and a generated synthetic dataset. The emergence of Industry 5.0 has revolutionized technology by integrating physical systems with digital networks. These advancements have also led to an increase in cyber threats, posing significant risks, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This research investigates the resistance of SMEs in Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom (UK) to cyber security measures within the context of Industry 5.0, with a specific focus on governance and policy. It explores the cultural and economic factors contributing to this resistance, such as limited awareness of cyber security risks, financial constraints, and competing business priorities. Additionally, the study examines the role of government policies and regulations in promoting cyber security practices among SMEs and compares the approaches adopted by Saudi Arabia and the UK. By employing a mixed methods analysis, including interviews with SME owners and experts, the research highlights challenges and opportunities for improving cyber security governance and policy in both countries. The findings emphasize the need for tailored solutions due to the differing cultural and economic contexts between Saudi Arabia and the UK. Specifically, the study delves into the awareness and implementation of cyber security measures, focusing on SMEs in Saudi Arabia and their adherence to the Essential Cyber Security Controls (ECC-1:2018) guidelines. Furthermore, it examines the existing cyber security awareness practices and compliance in the UK, while also comparing official guidance documents aimed at supporting SMEs in achieving better cyber security practices. Based on the analysis, greater engagement with these documents is recommended in both countries to foster awareness, confidence, and compliance among SMEs, ultimately enhancing their cyber security posture. SQL injection attacks are one of the most common types of attacks on Web applications. These attacks exploit vulnerabilities in an application's database access mechanisms, allowing attackers to execute unauthorized SQL queries. In this study, we propose an architecture for detecting SQL injection attacks using a recurrent neural network autoencoder. The proposed architecture was trained on a publicly available dataset of SQL injection attacks. Then, it was compared with several other machine learning models, including ANN, CNN, decision tree, naive Bayes, SVM, random forest, and logistic regression models. The experimental results showed that the proposed approach achieved an accuracy of 94% and an F1-score of 92%, which demonstrate its effectiveness in detecting QL injection attacks with high accuracy in comparison to the other models covered in the study. Recently, the concept of e-commerce product review evaluation has become a research topic of significant interest in sentiment analysis. The sentiment polarity estimation of product reviews is a great way to obtain a buyer's opinion on products. It offers significant advantages for online shopping customers to evaluate the service and product qualities of the purchased products. However, the issues related to polysemy, disambiguation, and word dimension mapping create prediction problems in analyzing online reviews. In order to address such issues and enhance the sentiment polarity classification, this paper proposes a new sentiment analysis model, the Ensemble Random Forest-based XG boost (ERF-XGB) approach, for the accurate binary classification of online e-commerce product review sentiments. Two different Internet Movie Database (IMDB) datasets and the Chinese Emotional Corpus (ChnSentiCorp) dataset are used for estimating online reviews. First, the datasets are preprocessed through tokenization, lemmatization, and stemming operations. The Harris hawk optimization (HHO) algorithm selects two datasets' corresponding features. Finally, the sentiments from online reviews are classified into positive and negative categories regarding the proposed ERF-XGB approach. Hyperparameter tuning is used to find the optimal parameter values that improve the performance of the proposed ERF-XGB algorithm. The performance of the proposed ERF-XGB approach is analyzed using evaluation indicators, namely accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-score, for different existing approaches. Compared with the existing method, the proposed ERF-XGB approach effectively predicts sentiments of online product reviews with an accuracy rate of about 98.7% for the ChnSentiCorp dataset and 98.2% for the IMDB dataset. Recently, cloud computing resources have become one of the trending technologies that permit the user to manage diverse resources and a huge amount of data in the cloud. Task scheduling is considered one of the most significant challenges and ineffective management results in performance degradation. It is necessary to schedule the task effectively with maximum resource utilization and minimum execution time. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel technique for effective task scheduling with enhanced security in the cloud computing environment. A novel convolutional neural network optimized modified butterfly optimization (CNN-MBO) algorithm is proposed for scheduling the tasks, thereby maximizing the throughput and minimizing the makespan. Secondly, a modified RSA algorithm is employed to encrypt the data, thereby providing secure data transmission. Finally, our proposed approach is simulated under a cloudlet simulator and the evaluation results are analyzed to determine its performance. In addition to this, the proposed approach is compared with various other task scheduling-based approaches for various performance metrics, namely, resource utilization, response time, as well as energy consumption. The experimental results revealed that the proposed approach achieved minimum energy consumption of 180 kWh, a minimum response time of the 20 s, a minimum execution time of 0.43 s, and maximum utilization of 98% for task size 100. An SQL injection attack, usually occur when the attacker(s) modify, delete, read, and copy data from database servers and are among the most damaging of web application attacks. A successful SQL injection attack can affect all aspects of security, including confidentiality, integrity, and data availability. SQL (structured query language) is used to represent queries to database management systems. Detection and deterrence of SQL injection attacks, for which techniques from different areas can be applied to improve the detect ability of the attack, is not a new area of research but it is still relevant. Artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques have been tested and used to control SQL injection attacks, showing promising results. Recently, the Internet of Things (IoT) has gained tremendous popularity in several realms such as smart cities, healthcare, industrial automation, etc. IoT networks are increasing rapidly, containing heterogeneous devices that offer easy and user-friendly services via the internet. With the big shift to IoT technology, the security of IoT networks has become a primary concern, especially with the lack of intrinsic security mechanisms regarding the limited capabilities of IoT devices. Therefore, many studies have been interested in enhancing the security of IoT networks. IoT networks need a scalable, decentralized, and adaptive defense system. Although the area of development provides advanced security solutions using AI and Blockchain, there is no systematic and comprehensive study talking about the convergence between AI and Blockchain to secure IoT networks. In this paper, we focus on reviewing and comparing recent studies that have been proposed for detecting cybersecurity attacks in IoT environments. In recent years, educational institutions have worked hard to automate their work using more trending technologies that prove the success in supporting decision-making processes. Most of the decisions in educational institutions rely on rating the academic research profiles of their staff. An enormous amount of scholarly data is produced continuously by online libraries that contain data about publications, citations, and research activities. This kind of data can change the accuracy of the academic decisions, if linked with the local data of universities. The linked data technique in this study is applied to generate a link between university semantic data and a scientific knowledge graph, to enrich the local data and improve academic decisions. As a proof of concept, a case study was conducted to allocate the best academic staff to teach a course regarding their profile, including research records. Further, the resulting data are available to be reused in the future for different purposes in the academic domain. Epilepsy is a nervous system disorder. Encephalography (EEG) is a generally utilized clinical approach for recording electrical activity in the brain. Although there are a number of datasets available, most of them are imbalanced due to the presence of fewer epileptic EEG signals compared with non-epileptic EEG signals. This research aims to study the possibility of integrating local EEG signals from an epilepsy center in King Abdulaziz University hospital into the CHB-MIT dataset by applying a new compatibility framework for data integration. The framework comprises multiple functions, which include dominant channel selection followed by the implementation of a novel algorithm for reading XLtek EEG data. The resulting integrated datasets, which contain selective channels, are tested and evaluated using a deep-learning model of 1D-CNN, Bi-LSTM, and attention. The results achieved up to 96.87% accuracy, 96.98% precision, and 96.85% sensitivity, outperforming the other latest systems that have a larger number of EEG channels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Teaching offensive security (ethical hacking) is becoming a required component of information security curricula to develop better cybersecurity practitioners. Many academics and industry professionals believe that a good knowledge of the attacks a system can face is required to protect a system. The early detection of an attack is critical to effectively defending a system. We can't wait for threats to be discovered in the wild to begin planning our defenses. For our study, we designed and developed an offensive model that aims to remain concealed in an image until it reaches the target location. Our attack approach exploits image steganography, which involves embedding malicious code and a geolocation code into a digital image. This study aimed to discover new ways to attack computer systems and stimulate awareness of such attacks among browser developers, thus encouraging them to handle images with more care. In our experiments, both stego-image analysis and geolocation techniques are tested. Our experience has confirmed that converting indiscriminate attacks into targeted attacks is possible. Recent years have seen a lot of interest in the study of chaotic structures and their accompanying cryptography frameworks. In this research, we came up with a new way to encrypt images that used the chaos and a modified block cipher named the SHARK cipher. The new algorithm looks at the creation of random sequences as a problem that needs to be solved in the best way possible, and then it uses the Duffing chaotic map to get even better random sequences. Chaos has been combined with a revised edition of the SHARK structure to make the algorithm design more robust with increased confusion and diffusion. The offered algorithm includes a complex encryption and decryption structure with minimal time consumption for secure data transmission. The proposed algorithm is verified with the encryption of some standard images of different sizes. Numerous analyses have been performed to see how well the algorithm works against a variety of assaults, and the outcomes show that the cryptosystem has a good level of robustness. The comparative results are also performed in this work, which guarantees the excellent performance of our cryptosystem. The system is also subjected to chosen-plaintext and chosen-ciphertext attacks which implies that it can resist many classical cryptographic attacks. Given the increase in online shopping and the prevailing research gap, this study designed and implemented an online shopping system for Gulf brands. It presents an online customization feature-based design and implementation concerning the case of GhazzawiGowns. The study used the B/S model (browser/server) to design and implement an online shopping system for Gulf brands. This system was developed because online shopping is increasing in the Gulf. Users were asked to provide their input concerning the services and website usage. Feedback showed that the developed system could effectively meet customers' online shopping needs. However, only a few agreed that Gulf brands provided customization. This highlights that very few services are being offered online that give users a choice to customize products. The provided functions and descriptions of the system were user-friendly and provided greater accessibility to address various design issues. DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks have now become a serious risk to the integrity and confidentiality of computer networks and systems, which are essential assets in today's world. Detecting DDoS attacks is a difficult task that must be accomplished before any mitigation strategies can be used. The identification of DDoS attacks has already been successfully implemented using machine learning/deep learning (ML/DL). However, due to an inherent limitation of ML/DL frameworks—so-called optimal feature selection—complete accomplishment is likewise out of reach. This is a case in which a machine learning/deep learning-based system does not produce promising results for identifying DDoS attacks. At the moment, existing research on forecasting DDoS attacks has yielded a variety of unexpected predictions utilising machine learning (ML) classifiers and conventional approaches for feature encoding. These previous efforts also made use of deep neural networks to extract features without having to maintain the track of the sequence information. The current work suggests predicting DDoS attacks using a hybrid deep learning (DL) model, namely a CNN with BiLSTM (bidirectional long/short-term memory), in order to effectively anticipate DDoS attacks using benchmark data. By ranking and choosing features that scored the highest in the provided data set, only the most pertinent features were picked. The utilization of mobile learning continues to rise and has attracted many organizations, university environments and institutions of higher education all over the world. The cloud storage system consists of several defense issues since data security and privacy have become known as the foremost apprehension for the users. Uploading and storing specific data in the cloud is familiar and widespread, but securing the data is a complicated task. This paper proposes a cloud-based mobile learning system using a hybrid optimal elliptic curve cryptography (HOECC) algorithm comprising public and private keys for data encryption. The proposed approach utilizes an adaptive tunicate slime-mold (ATS) algorithm to generate optimal key value. Thus, the data uploaded in the cloud system are secured with high authentication, data integrity and confidentiality. The study investigation employed a survey consisting of 50 students and the questionnaire was sent to all fifty students. In addition to this, for obtaining secure data transmission in the cloud, various performance measures, namely the encryption time, decryption time and uploading/downloading time were evaluated. Recently Internet of Things (IoT) attains tremendous popularity, although this promising technology leads to a variety of security obstacles. The conventional solutions do not suit the new dilemmas brought by the IoT ecosystem. Conversely, Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) is intelligent and adaptive systems mimic the human immune system which holds desirable properties for such a dynamic environment and provides an opportunity to improve IoT security. In this work, we develop a novel hybrid Deep Learning and Dendritic Cell Algorithm (DeepDCA) in the context of an Intrusion Detection System (IDS). The framework adopts Dendritic Cell Algorithm (DCA) and Self Normalizing Neural Network (SNN). The aim of this research is to classify IoT intrusion and minimize the false alarm generation. Also, automate and smooth the signal extraction phase which improves the classification performance. The proposed IDS selects the convenient set of features from the IoT-Bot dataset, performs signal categorization using the SNN then use the DCA for classification. The experimentation results show that DeepDCA performed well in detecting the IoT attacks with a high detection rate demonstrating over 98.73% accuracy and low false-positive rate. Also, we compared these results with State-of-the-art techniques, which showed that our model is capable of performing better classification tasks than SVM, NB, KNN, and MLP. We plan to carry out further experiments to verify the framework using a more challenging dataset and make further comparisons with other signal extraction approaches. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have grown exponentially in the education context and the use of digital products by children is increasing. As a result, teachers are taking advantage of ICTs to include mobile devices such as Tablets or Smartphones inside the classroom as playful support material to motivate children during their learning. Designing an interactive experience for a child with a special need such as a hearing impairment is a great challenge. In this article, two interactive systems are depicted, using a non-traditional interaction, by the following stages: analysis, design and implementation, with the participation of children with cochlear implant in the Institute of Blind and Deaf Children of Valle del Cauca, Colombia and the ASPAS Institute, Mallorca, Spain, who evaluated both interactive systems, PHONOMAGIC and CASETO. Positive results were obtained, showing that the use of real objects can greatly influence the environment in which children interact with the game, allowing them to explore and manipulate the objects supporting their teaching-learning processes. As the amount of historical data available in the legal arena has grown over time, industry specialists are driven to gather, compile, and analyze this data in order to forecast court case rulings. However, predicting and justifying court rulings while using judicial facts is no easy task. Currently, previous research on forecasting court outcomes using small experimental datasets yielded a number of unanticipated predictions utilizing machine learning (ML) models and conventional methodologies for categorical feature encoding. The current work proposes forecasting court judgments using a hybrid neural network model, namely a long short-term memory (LSTM) network with a CNN, in order to effectively forecast court rulings using historic judicial datasets. By prioritizing and choosing features that scored the highest in the provided legal data set, only the most pertinent features were picked. After that, the LSTM+CNN model was utilized to forecast lawsuit verdicts. In contrast to previous related experiments, this composite model's testing results were promising, showing 92.05 percent accuracy, 93 percent precision, 94 percent recall, and a 93 percent F1-score. Forecasting disease outbreaks in real-time using time-series data can help for the planning of public health interventions. We used a support vector machine (SVM) model using epidemiological data provided by Johns Hopkins University Centre for Systems Science and Engineering (JHU CCSE), World Health Organization (WHO), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to predict upcoming records before the WHO made an official declaration. Our study, conducted on the time series data available from 22 January till 10 March 2020, revealed that COVID-19 was spreading at an alarming rate and progressing towards a pandemic. The initial insight that confirmed COVID-19 cases were increasing was because these received the highest number of effects for our selected dataset from 22 January to 10 March 2020, i.e., 126,344 (64%). The recovered cases were 68289 (34%), and the death rate was around 2%. Moreover, we classified the tweets from 22 January to 15 April 2020 into positive and negative sentiments to identify the emotions (stress or relaxed) posted by Twitter users related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our analysis identified that tweets mostly conveyed a negative sentiment with a high frequency of words for #coronavirus and #lockdown amid COVID-19. Energy saving is a significant research area in Saudi Arabia; however, significant problems have emerged related to its distribution and consumption. Use of an agent is assumed to combat these problems by forming efficient coalitions to control the energy consumption and energy distribution process. This study presents a novel algorithm for distributing the value calculation among the cooperative agents. This is likely to reduce the consumption of energy and extend the coalition lifetime used. The developed algorithm is compared with the basic modified coalition formation algorithm for evaluating its effectiveness. The results showed a reduction in cooling consumption by 20% after applying optimization algorithms. The amount of reduction in the cooling consumption reflects a 31% reduction in expected cooling costs, without affecting the household comfort. The term "mobile learning" (or "m-learning") refers to using handheld phones to learn and wireless computing as a learning tool and connectivity technology. This paper presents and explores the latest mobile platform for teaching and studying programming basics. The M-Learning tool was created using a platform-independent approach to target the largest available number of learners while reducing development and maintenance time and effort. Since the code is completely shared across mobile devices (iOS, Android, and Windows Phone), students can use any smartphone to access the app. To make the programme responsive, scalable, and dynamic, and to provide students with personalised guidance, the core application is based on an analysis design development implementation and assessment (ADDIE) model implemented in the Xamarin framework. The application's key features are depicted in a prototype. An experiment is carried out on BS students at a university to evaluate the efficacy of the generated application. A usefulness questionnaire is administered to an experimental community in order to determine students' expectations of the developed mobile application's usability. The findings of the experiment show that the application is considerably more successful than conventional learning in developing students' online knowledge assessment abilities, with an impact size of 1.96. The findings add to the existing mobile learning literature by defining usability assessment features and offering a basis for designing platform-independent m-learning applications. In Internet of Things (IoT) environments, privacy and security are among some of the significant challenges. Recently, several studies have attempted to apply blockchain technology to increase IoT network security. However, the lightweight feature of IoT devices commonly fails to meet computational intensive requirements for blockchain-based security models. In this work, we propose a mechanism to address this issue. We design an IoT blockchain architecture to store device identity information in a distributed ledger. We propose a Blockchain of Things (BCoT) Gateway to facilitate the recording of authentication transactions in a blockchain network without modifying existing device hardware or applications. Furthermore, we introduce a new device recognition model that is suitable for blockchain-based identity authentication, where we employ a novel feature selection method for device traffic flow. The 5th generation (5G) wireless networks propose to address a variety of usage scenarios, such as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine-type communications (mMTC), and ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC). Due to the exponential increase in the user equipment (UE) devices of wireless communication technologies, 5G and beyond networks (B5G) expect to support far higher user density and far lower latency than currently deployed cellular technologies, like long-term evolution-Advanced (LTE-A). However, one of the critical challenges for B5G is finding a clever way for various channel access mechanisms to maintain dense UE deployments. Random access channel (RACH) is a mandatory procedure for the UEs to connect with the evolved node B (eNB). The performance of the RACH directly affects the performance of the entire network. Currently, RACH uses a uniform distribution-based (UD) random access to prevent a possible network collision among multiple UEs attempting to access channel resources. However, in a UD-based channel access, every UE has an equal chance to choose a similar contention preamble close to the expected value, which causes an increase in the collision among the UEs. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a Poisson process-based RACH (2PRACH) alternative to a UD-based RACH. A Poisson process-based distribution, such as exponential distribution, disperses the random preambles between two bounds in a Poisson point method, where random variables occur continuously and independently with a constant parametric rate. In this way, our proposed 2PRACH approach distributes the UEs in a probability distribution of a parametric collection. Simulation results show that the shift of RACH from UD-based channel access to a Poisson process-based distribution enhances the reliability and lowers the network's latency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Self-interacting proteins (SIPs) is of paramount importance in current molecular biology. There have been developed a number of traditional biological experiment methods for predicting SIPs in the past few years. However, these methods are costly, time-consuming and inefficient, and often limit their usage for predicting SIPs. Therefore, the development of computational method emerges at the times require. In this paper, we for the first time proposed a novel deep learning model which combined natural language processing (NLP) method for potential SIPs prediction from the protein sequence information. More specifically, the protein sequence is de novo assembled by k-mers. Then, we obtained the global vectors representation for each protein sequences by using natural language processing (NLP) technique. Finally, based on the knowledge of known self-interacting and non-interacting proteins, a multi-grained cascade forest model is trained to predict SIPs. Comprehensive experiments were performed on yeast and human datasets, which obtained an accuracy rate of 91.45% and 93.12%, respectively. From our evaluations, the experimental results show that the use of amino acid semantics information is very helpful for addressing the problem of sequences containing both self-interacting and non-interacting pairs of proteins.
