The response of dryland vegetation to climate change is particularly sensitive in the context of global climate change. This paper analyzes the characteristics of spatial and temporal dynamics of vegetation cover in the Tarim River Basin, China, and its driving factors in order to investigate the response of vegetation growth to water storage changes in the basin. The Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), the GRACE gravity satellite, and meteorological data from 2002 to 2022 are used to decipher the characteristics of the response of water storage changes to vegetation changes, which is of great significance to the realization of regional ecological development and sustainable development. The results of the study show the following: (1) The vegetation in the Tarim River Basin has an overall increasing trend, which is mainly distributed in the Aksu Basin and the Weigangkuche River Basin and is spatially distributed in the form of a ring. (2) Vegetation distribution greatly improved during the 20-year study period, dominated by high-cover vegetation, with a change rate of 200.36%. Additionally, vegetation changes are centered on the watersheds and expand to the surrounding area, with a clear increase in vegetation in the Kumukuri Basin. Areas with a vegetation Hurst index of <0.5 account for 63.27% of the study area, and the areas with a continuous decrease were mainly located in the outer contour area of the Tarim River and Kumu Kuri Basins. (3) There are obvious spatial differences in the correlation between EVI and temperature and precipitation elements. The proportion of areas with positive correlation with temperature within the study area is 64.67%. EVI tends to be consistent with the direction of migration of the center of gravity of the population and GDP, and the areas with positive correlation between vegetation and terrestrial water reserves are mainly distributed in the northern slopes of the Kunlun Mountains, with an area proportion of about 50.513%. Simple Summary: Bordetella bronchiseptica (B. bronchiseptica) is a severe zoonotic pathogen widespread in aquaculture environments. However, information on the distribution and resistance of this pathogen remains scarce in pig farms. This study isolated and analyzed B. bronchiseptica from pig farms in central China and revealed a high frequency of resistance to this pathogen, with most strains forming biofilms. In addition, a B. bronchiseptica strain with a heteroresistant phenotype to gentamicin was isolated, which is a rare case and requires vigilance. This study enhances our understanding of the biological characteristics, such as the distribution and resistance, of B. bronchiseptica in pig farms in central China. This can provide valuable data for future related research and pathogen prevention and control. Bordetella bronchiseptica is a significant contributor to respiratory disease in pigs, leading to substantial economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. We isolated 52 B. bronchiseptica strains from 542 samples collected from pigs with atrophic rhinitis and bronchopneumonia in central China. Multi-locus sequence typing identified two prevalent sequence types: ST6 (69.23%) and ST7 (30.77%). PCR-based detection of seven virulence genes (fhaB, prn, cyaA, dnt, bteA, fla, and bfrZ) revealed that six of these genes were present in over 90% of the isolates, with bfrZ being the exception at 59.62%. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, performed using the K-B method, demonstrated high sensitivity to enrofloxacin, polymyxin, and doxycycline but a notable resistance to tylosin, trimethoprim, tobramycin, ciprofloxacin, and amikacin. Remarkably, 86.54% of the isolates exhibited a multidrug-resistant phenotype. Notably, we successfully screened a strain of B. bronchiseptica with a heteroresistance phenotype to gentamicin using population analysis profiling, which is a rare case. Biofilm-formation assays indicated that 96.15% of the isolates possessed biofilm-forming capabilities. These findings provide crucial insights into the prevalence of B. bronchiseptica in central China, facilitating the development of effective preventive measures to safeguard both animal and human health. The reservoir in the Anyue gas field, located in the Sichuan basin of China, belongs to the second member of the Dengying formation and has distinctive geological features. It is characterized by strong heterogeneity, low porosity, low permeability, and locally developed natural fractures. The reservoir space consists primarily of corrosion holes, natural fractures, and similar voids. Moreover, the lower reservoir exhibits high water saturation and a homogeneous bottom-water interface. Since it is a carbonate-based hydrocarbon reservoir with low porosity and permeability, deep acid fracturing has proven to be an efficient method for enhancing individual well production. However, the reconstruction of the second member of the Dengying formation reservoir poses significant challenges. The reservoir contains high-angle natural fractures, small vertical stress differences, and is located in close proximity to the gas–water interface. As a result, it becomes difficult to control the height of the acid break. Improper acid break treatment may easily result in water production affecting gas well production. To explore ways to control the longitudinal extension of acid fractures, 3D numerical models focusing on the initiation and expansion of acid fractures have been developed. This model takes into account geological and engineering factors such as stress differences, acid fracture displacements and scales, and their effects on the longitudinal extension of acid fractures. It was revealed that the pressure difference is the main controlling factor for the acid fracture height, followed by the reservoir thickness, the interlayer thickness, and the viscosity of the working fluid. Technical countermeasures for controlled fracture and high-acid fracturing tailored to different reservoir characteristics have been proposed, and design parameters for controlled fracture and high-acid fracturing can be optimized. By effectively controlling the vertical extension of the acid fracture, it is possible to maximize production from a single well while avoiding interference from the lower water layer. X-ray diffraction (XRD) is extensively used in archaeometric investigation. Herein, we provide a novel XRD spectrum-based untargeted strategy for the classification of ancient painted pottery for various dynasties. It was accomplished using the original spectrum without a phase identification. To eliminate the influence of baseline drift, a new baseline drift correction algorithm was specifically designed for XRD spectra. The algorithm was implemented using local minimum values in the analyzed signal in an iterative optimization manner. The results indicated that with the aid of the algorithm, the baseline drift problem can be successfully resolved, and the classification of ancient painted pottery can be greatly improved. Finally, the developed strategy was successfully used to discriminate ancient painted pottery from the Han and Tang dynasties in the cities of Guyuan and Zhongwei, China. The occurrence of root-knot nematode disease has seriously constrained the development of the Chinese herbal medicine industry. China is one of the largest producers of Polygonatum sibiricum and Peucedanum praeruptorum in the world, but the unidentified root-knot nematodes have become important pests of these two Chinese herbal medicines in China. Both morphological characteristics and molecular identification were used to identify the nematodes. The identification results showed that Meloidogyne incognita and M. arenaria were the causal species of root-knot nematode infection in P. sibiricum, and M. hapla was the causal species of the infection in P. praeruptorum. Through investigation, this is the first report of M. incognita and M. arenaria infecting P. sibiricum, and M. hapla infecting P. praeruptorum, in China. The expansion of rural construction land in China has led to ecological consequences under the context of rural depopulation, despite government land use controls. While previous studies have investigated the local factors contributing to the expansion of rural construction land, the semi-urbanisation of urban immigrants distant from rural areas has received less attention. To better understand the connections between the semi-urbanisation in the urban areas and the construction land expansion in rural areas, this study constructed a network/spatial lag of N/X (N/SLX) model that incorporated the network lagged term of the socio-economic traits of semi-urbanised migrants to analyse how urban semi-urbanisation influenced rural construction land. Our findings suggest that both the income of rural-urban migrants and the difficulty of obtaining urban household registration are positively correlated with the expanding extent of rural construction land. Conversely, the living expenses of migrants and city economic development are negatively correlated with that of rural construction land. Considering our findings, we propose that policies facilitating the settlement and integration of rural out-migrants into cities and proceeding urbanisation based on county towns are crucial to curb the inefficient expansion of rural construction land. Eutrophication is prevalent in urban lakes; however, a knowledge gap exists regarding eutrophication influences on carbon dynamics in these ecosystems. In the present study, we investigated the carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentration and diffusion fluxes in Lake Tangxun (the largest shallow Chinese urban lake) in the autumn and winter of 2022 and spring and summer of 2023. We found that Lake Tangxun served as a source of GHGs, with average emission rates of 5.52 ± 12.16 mmol CO2 m−2 d−1 and 0.83 ± 2.81 mmol CH4 m−2 d−1, respectively. The partial pressure of dissolved CO2 (pCO2) (averaging 1321.39 ± 1614.63 μatm) and dissolved CH4 (dCH4) (averaging 4.29 ± 13.71 μmol L−1) exceeded saturation levels. Seasonal variability was observed in the pCO2 and dCH4 as well as CH4 fluxes, while the CO2 flux remained constant. The mean pCO2 and dCH4, as well as carbon emissions, were generally higher in summer and spring. pCO2 and dCH4 levels were significantly related to total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and ammonium-nitrogen (N-NH4+), and N-NH4+ was a main influencing factor of pCO2 and dCH4 in urban eutrophic lakes. The positive relationships of pCO2, dCH4 and trophic state index highlighted that eutrophication could elevate CO2 and CH4 emissions from the lake. This study highlights the fact that eutrophication can significantly increase carbon emissions in shallow urban lakes and that urban lakes are substantial contributors to the global carbon budget. China's argillaceous limestone reservoir has a lot of oil and gas resources, and hydraulic fracturing of the argillaceous limestone reservoir faces many difficulties. The first problem is that the heterogeneity of the argillaceous limestone reservoir is strong, and it is difficult to optimize fracturing parameters. The second problem is that there are a lot of natural fractures in the argillaceous limestone reservoir, which leads to a lot of fracturing fluid loss. The third problem is that the closure pressure of the argillaceous limestone reservoir is high, and the conductivity of fractures decreases rapidly under high closure pressure. The last problem is that the fracture shape of the argillaceous limestone reservoir is complex, and the law of proppant migration is unclear. The main research methods in this paper include reservoir numerical simulation, fluid-loss-reducer performance evaluation, flow conductivity tests and proppant migration visualization. To solve the above problems, this paper establishes the fracturing productivity prediction model of complex lithology reservoirs and defines the optimal hydraulic fracturing parameters of the argillous limestone reservoir in the Sichuan Basin. The 70/140 mesh ceramide was selected as the fluid loss additive after an evaluation of the sealing properties of different mesh ceramides. At the same time, the hydraulic fracture conductivity test is carried out in this paper, and it is confirmed that the fracture conductivity of 70/140 mesh and 40/70 mesh composite particle-size ceramics mixed according to the mass ratio of 5:5 is the highest. When the closure pressure is 40 MPa, the conductivity of a mixture of 70/140 mesh ceramic and 40/70 mesh ceramic is 35.6% higher than that of a mixture of 70/140 mesh ceramic and 30/50 mesh ceramic. The proppant migration visualization device is used to evaluate the morphology of the sand dike formed by the ceramsite, and it is clear that the shape of the sand dike is the best when the mass ratio of 70/140 mesh ceramsite and 40/70 mesh ceramsite is 6:4. The research results achieved a good stimulation effect in the SC1 well. The daily oil production of the SC1 well is 20 t, and the monitoring results of the wide-area electromagnetic method show that the fracturing fracture length of the SC1 well is up to 129 m. Sichuan Basin, located in southwestern China, is renowned for its abundant oil and gas resources. Among these valuable reserves, Da'anzhai seashell limestone stands out as a significant contributor to the region's energy industry. Da'anzhai seashell limestone is a type of sedimentary rock that contains substantial amounts of organic matter. Over millions of years, the accumulation and transformation of this organic material have resulted in the formation of vast reservoirs rich in oil and natural gas. These reservoirs are found within the layers of Da'anzhai seashell limestone. The geological conditions in Sichuan Basin have played a crucial role in the development and preservation of these resources. The basin's unique tectonic history has created favorable conditions for the generation and accumulation of hydrocarbon. Additionally, the presence of faults and fractures within the rock formations has facilitated fluid migration and trapping, further enhancing the resource potential. The exploitation of Da'anzhai seashell limestone resources has significantly contributed to China's energy security and economic growth. Oil extracted from these reserves not only meets domestic demand, but also supports various industries such as transportation, manufacturing, and power generation. Natural gas derived from this source plays an essential role in heating homes, fueling industrial processes, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by replacing coal as a cleaner-burning alternative. Efforts to explore and exploit Da'anzhai seashell limestone continue through advanced technologies such as seismic imaging techniques, horizontal drilling methods, and hydraulic fracturing (fracking), among others. These technological advancements enable more efficient extraction while minimizing the environmental impact. It is worth noting that sustainable management practices should be implemented to ensure the responsible utilization of these resources without compromising the ecological balance or endangering local communities. To apply the discrete element method (DEM) to simulate the interaction process between soda saline–alkali soil and subsoiling component in Northeast China, establishing the soda saline–alkali soil particle model and selecting more accurate simulation parameters are important. In this paper, we studied the soda saline–alkali soil of the Songnen Plain in China. First, we studied the geometric shape of soda saline–alkali soil particles and proposed a modeling method for single soil particles based on the multisphere combination method. Considering the cohesion of soda saline–alkali soil particles, the Hertz–Mindlin with JKR (JKR) model was used as the contact model between soil particles. Then, the calibration method was used to obtain simulation parameters of soils that are difficult to obtain experimentally. We conducted soil angle of repose (AoR) tests, the Plackett–Burman (PB) tests, and steepest ascent (SA) tests in turn to perform a sensitivity analysis for microscopic contact parameters and select the parameters that have a significant effect on the response value (static AoR), i.e., soil surface energy, soil–soil static friction coefficient, and soil–soil rolling friction coefficient. Then, the optimal combination of simulation parameters was obtained via the Box–Behnken (BB) tests, using ANOVA to optimize the multiple regression equation. Finally, the optimal parameter combination was verified by the AoR test and the direct shear (DS) test. The results showed that the parameters had good adaptability for the AoR test. However, the simulation results of the DS test were significantly different from the experimental values. Therefore, the contact model needs to be further modified by adding Bonding bonds between soil particles based on the JKR model and further correcting for Rayleigh time step, shear modulus, and surface energy. By comparing the simulation and the experimental results, it was found that the simulation results obtained from both the DS test and AoR test had relatively small errors relative to physical tests, the two trends are the same, and the values are similar. Satellite aerosol products are pivotal in studies of regional air quality and global climate change. Compared with accurate in situ observations, satellite measurements provide valuable large-scale atmospheric information. However, limitations such as clouds and retrieval assumptions result in a significant number of missing values in satellite aerosol optical depth (AOD) products, which severely hampers the representativeness. To address this issue, spatial interpolation of the AOD data is necessary to improve data coverage. In this study, one year of AOD observation data from the MODIS C6.1 version was applied to analyze the spatiotemporal correlated characteristics. The statistical parameters were used as dynamic interpolation weights to develop a novel interpolation method called empirical correlation weighting (ECW) based on MODIS AOD over Northern China in 2016. The ECW interpolation results were obtained at a 0.05° resolution (~5 km). The results showed that the spatial coverage of the Deep Blue (DB) and Dark Target (DT) products increased from 43.88% to 70.65% and from 15.04% to 32.62%, respectively. The reconstruction of the ECW method illustrated good agreement with original values in three cases and in two experimental areas. The mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE) in the two experiments were 0.1171 and 0.0809, and 0.1212 and 0.0838, respectively, indicating that the ECW exhibited the better accuracy than ordinary Kriging (OK) and Thin Plate Spline (TPS). The AERONET validation results indicated that the values of RMSE and MAE were slightly higher after interpolation compared with those before interpolation, maintaining relatively low values, 0.241 and 0.257, 0.140 and 0.150, respectively. The Minjiang River is an important first-level tributary of the Yangtze River. Understanding the driving factors of water quality variations in the Minjiang River is crucial for future policy planning of watershed ecology protection of the Yangtze River. The water quality of the Minjiang River is impacted by both meteorological factors and anthropogenic factors. By using wavelet analysis, machine learning, and Shapley analysis approaches, the impacts of meteorological factors and anthropogenic factors on the permanganate index (CODMn) and ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) concentrations at the outlet of the Minjiang River Basin were quantified. The observed CODMn and NH3-N concentration data in the Minjiang River from 2016 to 2020 were decomposed into long-term trend signals and periodic signals. The long-term trends in water qualities showed that anthropogenic factors were the major driving factors, accounting for 98.38% of the impact on CODMn concentrations and 98.18% of the impact on NH3-N concentrations. The periodic fluctuations in water qualities in the Minjiang River Basin were mainly controlled by meteorological factors, with an impact of 68.89% on CODMn concentrations and 63.94% on NH3-N concentrations. Compared to anthropogenic factors, meteorological factors have a greater impact on water quality in the Minjiang River Basin during both the high-temperature and rainy seasons from July to September and during the winter from December to February. The separate quantification of impacts of driving factors on the varying water quality signals contributed to the originality in this work, providing more intuitive insights for the assessment of the influences of policies and the climate change on the water quality. Exploring the relationship between finance and economic growth is a key direction of financial economics. However, most of the literature starts from the aggregate perspective and uses the GDP or per capita GDP as the explained variable to study the role of finance. Such a perspective ignores the heterogeneity of financial activities with respect to geographical distribution and makes it difficult to distinguish the roles of factor input and efficiency improvement. Because of this, this article introduces a "density" perspective on new economic geography and the measurement of the efficiency of the transition of development economics into financial economics. This article uses the stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) method to measure the technical efficiency (TE) of 272 cities in China from 2005 to 2018 and then, based on "forward-looking" and "backward-looking" methods, measures the impact of financial density on urban technical efficiency. This study found that overall, before the financial crisis in 2008, the contribution of financial density to technical efficiency showed a downward trend, and in the regional and provincial dimensions, the distribution of financial density's contribution to technical efficiency was generally in line with that of backward regions, with less regularity in developed regions. In the urban dimension, the contribution rate of financial density to resource-based cities with slow technological progress or advanced cities with rich financial resources is not very prominent and may even play a negative role; however, cities that are at a medium level of development, rich in population resources, have convenient transportation, and have a certain industrial foundation can greatly promote the improvement of technical efficiency. Therefore, it may be possible to optimize the marginal contribution of urban financial density to the technical efficiency of Chinese cities by encouraging the flow of financial resources and activities from cities with small marginal effects to those with large marginal effects. The evaluation of housing conditions is a crucial aspect of determining the well-being of residents and the sustainable development of settlements. Assessing housing conditions at a macro-level is imperative to understand the differences in well-being and livability among residents in various regions within a country. Unfortunately, the spatial variation characteristics of housing conditions in China have not been extensively studied at the county scale. Thus, this study examines the housing conditions in China by using 2846 counties as the basic research unit. A housing condition evaluation index system, comprising seven indicators, is constructed based on three aspects: housing spaciousness, internal facilities, and elevator configuration. The entropy value method is used to determine the weights of the indicators, and the spatial difference patterns and spatial autocorrelation characteristics of the housing conditions and types of housing conditions in China are analyzed. The correlation analysis method is used to analyze the correlation between the subtypes of housing conditions and county fundamentals (population density, urbanization, foreign population, and rental housing). The results show that: (1) the configuration of elevators is the most important indicator of the differences in housing conditions in China; (2) the better housing conditions in China are distributed on the southeast side of the "Hu Line", while the worse areas are distributed on the northwest side of the "Hu Line", showing significant spatial clustering characteristics, while the distribution of the different subtypes of housing conditions and their distribution in the H–H and L–L zones also have significant variability; (3) housing conditions in China's urban areas are generally better than those in non-urban areas, and the internal infrastructure conditions of urban housing and the degree of elevator configuration are better than those in non-urban areas; and (4) the correlation between housing conditions and county fundamentals varies depending on the regional level. At the national and urban levels, a negative correlation exists between county fundamentals and housing spaciousness, although a positive correlation exists with internal infrastructure and elevator configuration. Urbanization has the greatest impact on housing conditions in these areas. In non-urban areas, there is significant variability in the correlation between county fundamentals and housing conditions. Heritage buildings are a crucial aspect of a country's cultural heritage, serving as a means of preserving and passing down its history and traditions to future generations. The heritage buildings in southern China possess significant conservation, utilization, and research value. However, research is lacking on the spatial distribution characteristics and subdivision types of these buildings in the region. This study aimed to investigate the spatial agglomeration and distribution characteristics of heritage buildings in southern China, as well as the factors contributing to the formation of these spatial distribution patterns. This article focused on the protection of 981 heritage buildings in southern China since the founding of China. The study examined the buildings' spatial agglomeration and distribution characteristics from various dynasties and subdivided types. It utilized the average nearest neighbor analysis, unbalance index, and kernel density estimation to analyze this distribution. Additionally, this study also investigated the primary factors influencing the spatial distribution and differentiation of these buildings. The results demonstrated the following: (1) In general, the spatial distribution of heritage buildings in southern China is characterized by unevenness and clustering, with a concentration in the eastern coastal and Sichuan provinces. (2) In terms of temporal dimension, the spatial distribution of heritage buildings exhibits unique characteristics in various dynastic zones. (3) In the type dimension, the number of different types of heritage buildings varies greatly. (4) Further analysis of the distribution and types of heritage buildings indicates that quantitative differences are primarily influenced by natural, human, and socio-economic factors. This research was unique as it explored the geospatial distribution characteristics and determinants of heritage buildings. It offers a valuable perspective on the spatial distribution of heritage buildings and can serve as a reference for future studies on the preservation and protection of such buildings in China. Surface water quality assessment is an important component of environmental protection and sustainable development. In this study, 24 sampling sites were arranged in the Wanquan River area of Hainan Island, China, in 2021, and nine water quality indicators were measured. The water quality of the Wanquan River was assessed using the single factor pollution index method and the Nemerow pollution index method; the spatial distribution characteristics of pollutants were revealed, and the sources of pollution were further analyzed using factor analysis. The results show that the overall water quality of the Wanquan River basin is good, with the average values of all indicators meeting China's Class III water quality standards. The results of the single factor pollution index method showed that 29% of the sampling sites were in the no pollution class, 38% in the slight pollution class, 25% in the light pollution class, and 8% in the moderate pollution class. The results of the Nemerow pollution index showed that 25% of the sampling sites were in the clean category, 17% in the cleaner category, 42% in the light category, and 17% in the moderate category. The results of the factor analysis show that agricultural activities and domestic sewage discharge are the main sources of pollution, with nitrogen and phosphorus being the most important factors affecting water quality. This paper proposes several measures to reduce water pollution in the Wanquan River, including improving agricultural activities, improving wastewater treatment, and strengthening environmental monitoring. The findings have practical implications for reducing water pollution in rivers and lakes and can provide a reference for policy decisions related to water resource management and environmental protection. As an important ecological ecotone of water and land ecosystems, the lakeside is characterized by a variety ecosystem services and high vulnerability. Forest land is important in resolving the ecological risks of the lakeside area and building its ecological base. It is important to explore the effect of change in forest land on landscape ecological risk in the lakeside area, alleviate the contradiction between ecological protection and construction and development in the area, and realize sustainable development. The present study attempted to explore the spatial and temporal evolutionary features of forest land in the Erhai rim region from 2000 to 2020 using bivariate spatial autocorrelation and multi-scale geographical weighted regression (MGWR) models. The following are the findings of this investigation of the 2000–2020 period: (1) the forest land area in the region generally decreased, first increasing and then decreasing, and was mainly occupied by cultivated land and artificial surfaces; (2) the total landscape ecological risk in the region presented an upward trend, and medium- and higher-risk areas were the main risk areas, with the latter increasing; (3) the impact of forest land expansion and contraction intensity on landscape ecological risk exhibited spatial and temporal heterogeneity. The main forms of forest land change at different stages differed, and the impacts on landscape ecological risk were also different. Reasonable forest land expansion can effectively alleviate the growth in landscape ecological risk, whereas the shrinkage of forest land would aggravate the landscape ecological risk in the Erhai rim region. Soil organic carbon (SOC) forms the largest terrestrial organic carbon (C) pool, which is regulated by complex connections between exogenous C input, microbial activity, and SOC conversion. Few studies have examined the changes in natural abundance C due to microbial activity after exogenous C inputs in karst lime soils in China. In this research, the 13C isotope tracer technique was employed to investigate the priming effect of SOC on typical lime soil (0~20 cm) of 13C_litter and 13C_calcium carbonate (CaCO3) through a mineralization incubation experiment. Samples were collected at 5, 10, 20, 40, 60, and 80 days of incubation and analyzed for SOC mineralization, SOC distribution across fractions (>250 μm, 53~250 μm, and <53 μm), and soil microbial diversity. A control consisting of no exogenous C addition was included. SOC mineralization and SOC priming were considerably higher (15.48% and 61.00%, respectively) after litter addition compared to CaCO3. The addition of either litter or CaCO3 reduced the total organic C (TOC) and macroaggregate (>250 μm) and microaggregate (53~250 μm) C fractions by 2150.13, 2229.06, and 1575.06 mg C kg−1 Cbulk on average and increased the mineral particulate C fraction (<53 μm) by 1653.98 mg C kg−1 Cbulk. As the incubation time extended, a significantly positive correlation was apparent between SOC priming and soil fungal diversity, as well as between the mineral particulate C fraction and soil bacterial diversity. The effect of soil fungal diversity on SOC priming (R = 0.40, p = 0.003) significantly exceeded that of bacterial diversity on SOC sequestration (R = 0.27, p = 0.02). Our results reveal that after adding litter or CaCO3, soil fungi stimulate SOC mineralization and decomposition and soil bacteria enhance SOC sequestration, with the effects of fungi being more pronounced. In recent years, coastal areas have been threatened by many potential hazards due to global warming, glacier melting and sea level rise. Understanding their evolutionary history and development trends can help predict disasters and further reduce the corresponding losses. The Hanjiang River delta in the southeastern part of China is the second largest delta in Guangdong Province and has such challenges. Studying the sedimentary evolution and delta initiation of the Hanjiang Delta is beneficial for understanding the response of the Hanjiang Delta to present and future sea level and climate changes. In this research, we drilled a series of cores from the Hanjiang subaqueous delta, which contains information on the sedimentary environment, climate change and sea level change during the late Quaternary. Combined with previous research results and under the constraint of high-precision and high-resolution AMS14C and OSL, we carried out a multi-proxy analysis that included micropaleontology and grain size to obtain information on the sedimentary environment, sea level change and climate change. We then further discussed the initiation of the Hanjiang delta and its primary factors. The Quaternary sediments began depositing in the early Late Pleistocene (MIS5), and three sedimentary cycles can be recognized from bottom to top. The dating results also indicate that the first two cycles were formed during the late Pleistocene, while the last cycle was formed during the Holocene. The initiation of the Hanjiang Delta was indicated by a progradation in the process of a transition from estuary to a typical delta. At this time, the rate of delta progradation seaward was fast, and increasing amounts of sediments moved through the third line of islands into the sea. The barrier–lagoon system began to develop in the estuary of Hanjiang during this period. With the sequential construction of the delta, the lagoon was filled and covered by delta deposition, and the barrier bar moved to the sea; thus, the barrier-coast delta depositional model was established in the study area. Since the last glacial period (LGM), the Hanjiang River Delta and other river deltas in the region seem to have experienced similar evolutionary histories, including the filling of incised paleo-valleys and estuaries in the Early Holocene and deltaic progradation in the Middle to Late Holocene, controlled by sea level change. Urbanization not only affects a region's economic development but also impacts its land use structure. As the largest inland river basin in China, the Tarim River Basin has experienced rapid economic growth and urbanization in recent years, posing a serious threat to its soil and water resources and ecological sustainability. In this study, four remote sensing data products from 1990–2020 are selected to explore the distribution of land use types and their land structure changes in the basin in the context of rapid urbanization. The results show that the built-up land area increased by 2855.74 km2 during 1990–2020, mainly from the transfer of grassland and barren land. Furthermore, the migration of the center of gravity of built-up land moved from the desert to oasis areas, indicating that the urbanization process intensified during the study period. The overall trend is toward a continuous increase in arable and built-up land area and a continuous decrease in barren land. Future trends in the Tarim River Basin predict that arable land will decrease and that built-up land will continue to increase. However, the increase in built-up land will level off, mainly due to the transfer of arable land and grassland, which accounts for 37.94% and 20.40%, respectively. The migration characteristics of the center of gravity of each land type in the basin varied widely during 1990–2020, but the land structure will tend toward a gradual balance in the future. Therefore, in the context of increasing urbanization, focusing on the sustainable development of regional soil and water resources and ecology is crucial for the coordinated development of regional resources and economy. The Tarim River Basin (TRB) is situated in the hinterland of northwest China, which is an extremely arid and fragile ecological zone. In recent years, the region's ecological civilization construction has been facing huge challenges that are exacerbated by climate change and human activities. In order to verify the current ecological status of TRB, this paper explores the spatial and temporal variation in ecosystem service value (ESV) and the impact mechanism based on LUCC data from 2000 to 2020, using the adjusted unit area value equivalent method, the elasticity index method and the geo-probe analysis method. The results show that: (1) the ESV of the TRB has fluctuated since 2000, increasing by CNY 14.02 billion, especially in the Hotan River region. Among the individual ecosystem services, the increase in regulatory services is the largest, rising to CNY 8.842 billion. The growth of ESV mostly occurred in the mountains and oases. (2) The rise in ESV is mainly due to the conversion of barren land to water and grassland; ESV loss is mainly affected by the conversion of water to cropland and barren land and grassland to cropland and barren land. (3) Human activity impact or intensity (HAI) is the key driving factor for the spatial stratified heterogeneity of ESV, followed by elevation (DEM). In the interaction analysis, HAI∩DEM interaction is the primary reason for ESV's spatial differentiation. The study's findings show that the combined effects of human activities, DEM, and hydrothermal conditions underlie the spatial stratified heterogeneity of ESV in the TRB. The lyophylloid agarics are a group of ecologically highly diversified macrofungi, some of which are very popular edible mushrooms. However, we know little about lyophylloid species diversity in China. In this study, we described four new species from China: Lyophyllum atrofuscum, L. subalpinarum, L. subdecastes, and Ossicaulis sichuanensis. We conducted molecular phylogenetic analyses of Lyophyllaceae based on the nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (nLSU) and the internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS). Phylogenetic analyses by the maximum likelihood method and Bayesian inference showed that the four new species are unique monophyletic species. Identifying the spatial changes in farming–pastoral ecotone (FPE) is of utmost importance for the development of strategies for ecological protection in ecologically fragile areas. This study employed spatial autocorrelation and spatial clustering techniques to map FPE at the pixel scale using CLCD data with a spatial resolution of 30 × 30 m in the years 1985, 2000, and 2021, and then analyzed the changes of the FPE in northern China. The results showed that the FPE is mainly located at the border between the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the adjacent provinces, which is along the Hu-line and the 400-mm isohyetal line. The area of the FPE was 63.94 × 104 km2, 62.90 × 104 km2, and 53.81 × 104 km2 in 1985, 2000, and 2021, respectively, accounting for 6.7%, 6.6%, 5.6% of the total land area in China. The FPE boundary moved northwestward during 1985–2021, demonstrating retreating, fragmenting, and shrinking tendencies. The decreased areas and the moving distances of the gravity center are six times and four times greater during 2000–2021 than that during 1985–2000, respectively. Moreover, the discontinuous change in FPE was mainly due to the increase in forest land, especially for the conversion of grassland to forest land. Gas reservoirs discovered in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin generally have high temperatures (up to 172.22 °C) and high pressures (up to 171.74 MPa). If using the PVT laboratory to get the gas compressibility factor, data from the laboratory are so little that it will not satisfy the demands of reservoir engineering calculations. There are many empirical correlations for calculating the Z-factor; however, these correlations give large errors at high gas reservoir pressures. The errors in estimating the Z-factor will lead to large errors in estimating all the other gas properties such as gas formation volume factor, gas compressibility, and gas in place. In this paper, a new accurate Z-factor correlation has been developed based on PVT data by correcting the high-pressure part of the most commonly used Dranchuk-Purvis-Robinson Correlation. Multivariate nonlinear regression is used to establish the independent variable function of pseudo-critical temperatures and pressures. By comparing it with the PVT data, the DPR correlation is continuously corrected to be suitable for ultra-deep gas reservoirs with HTHP. The new correlation can be used to determine the Z-factor at any pressure range, especially for high pressures, and the error is less than 1% compared to the PVT data. Then, based on the corrected Z-factor, the Cullender-Smith method is used to calculate the bottom hole pressure in the middle of the reservoir. Relevant studies have demonstrated that urban green spaces composed of various types of plants are able to alleviate the morbidity and mortality of respiratory diseases, by reducing air pollution levels. In order to explore the relationship between the spatial pattern of urban green spaces and air pollutant concentrations, this study takes 37 garden cities with subtropical monsoon climate in China as the research object and selects the urban air quality monitoring data and land use type data in 2019 to analyze the relationship between the spatial pattern and the air pollutant concentration through the landscape metrics model and spatial regression model. Moreover, the threshold effect of the impact of green space on air pollutant concentrations is estimated, as well. The results showed that the spatial pattern of urban green space was significantly correlated with the concentrations of PM2.5 (PM with aerodynamic diameters of 2.5 mmor less), NO2 (Nitrogen Dioxide), and SO2 (Sulfur dioxide) pollutants in the air, while the concentrations of PM10 (PM with aerodynamic diameters of 10 mmor less) pollutants were not significantly affected by the green space pattern. Among them, the patch shape index (LSI), patch density (PD) and patch proportion in landscape area (PLAND) of forest land can affect the concentration of PM2.5, NO2, and SO2, respectively. The PLAND, PD, and LSI of grassland and farmland can also have an additional impact on the concentration of SO2 pollutants. The study also found that there was a significant threshold effect within the impact mechanism of urban green space landscape pattern indicators (LSI, PD, PLAND) on the concentrations of PM2.5, NO2, and SO2 air pollutants. The results of this study not only clarified the impact mechanism of the spatial pattern of urban green space on air pollutant concentrations but also provided quantitative reference and scientific basis for the optimization and updating of urban green space to promote public health. Livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (LA-MRSA) is an important zoonotic pathogen, often multi-resistant to antimicrobial agents. Among swine, LA-MRSA of clonal complex (CC) 398 dominates in Europe, Australia and the Americas, while LA-MRSA-CC9 is the main epidemic lineage in Asia. Here, we comparatively investigated the metabolic properties of rare and widespread porcine LA-MRSA isolates from Germany and China using Biolog Phenotype MicroArray technology to evaluate if metabolic variations could have played a role in the development of two different epidemic LA-MRSA clones in swine. Overall, we were able to characterize the isolates' metabolic profiles and show their tolerance to varying environmental conditions. Sparse partial least squares discriminant analysis (sPLS-DA) supported the detection of the most informative substrates and/or conditions that revealed metabolic differences between the LA-MRSA lineages. The Chinese LA-MRSA-CC9 isolates displayed unique characteristics, such as a consistently delayed onset of cellular respiration, and increased, reduced or absent usage of several nutrients. These possibly unfavorable metabolic properties might promote the ongoing gradual replacement of the current epidemic LA-MRSA-CC9 clone in China with the emerging LA-MRSA-CC398 lineage through livestock trade and occupational exposure. Jujube is a characteristic light-demanding fruit tree, but fruit quality is frequently degraded because of the weak light in protected cultivation facilities in south China. In this study, a black shade net was used to set three light intensities artificially: no shading (0%, control, NS), moderate shading (45%, MS), and severe shading (76%, SS) to investigate the effect of low light on sugar metabolism of jujube. Compared with NS, chlorophyll and carotenoid contents in shaded leaves were increased, while specific leaf weight was decreased. A decrease in sucrose content, rather than fructose and glucose, was the main factor affecting sugar content in shaded leaves and fruits. Low expression of ZjSS2 and ZjSS3 inhibited sugar synthesis in shaded leaves, thereby reducing sucrose content by 23.7% in SS leaf than that in NS. Compared with NS, sucrose content in SS fruit was decreased by 58.1%, which was mainly caused by the down-regulated expression of ZjSS2 and ZjSPS1. In conclusion, sugar accumulation in leaf and fruit with shading treatment was suppressed, which was associated with differential transcription levels of related metabolic genes. Assessment of relationships between functional diversity and ecological stoichiometry in plant communities can aid in determining the relative variability and ecological complementarity of functional attributes among species, which is a better approach to understanding ecosystem processes and functions than studying species taxonomic diversity. Here, we analyzed the relationships among community weighted means of functional traits, functional diversity, and leaf and soil chemical properties of plant communities during various stages of vegetation restoration in Mao Lan National Karst Forest Nature Reserve, located in humid subtropical Guizhou of China. Our results showed significant changes in four weighted functional traits of plant communities at different restoration stages, namely, plant height, leaf width to leaf length ratio, and leaf area. Additionally, with the progression of the recovery of plant communities, functional richness, functional separation, and quadratic entropy, the coefficient tended to increase. Functional divergence tended to gradually decrease. The association of functional diversity with soil chemical properties was stronger than that with leaf ecological stoichiometry. Regarding leaf and soil chemical properties, soil phosphorus content and leaf C:P were particularly important in influencing functional diversity. Our overall findings indicate that functional traits shift from "acquisitive" to "conservative" as the community is restored. The area with the highest concentration of carbon emission activities is construction land. However, few studies have been conducted that investigated the different effects of various types of construction land on carbon emissions and the extent of their impact. To address this shortcoming, this study constructed a multi-indicator evaluation system with 393 counties in Southwest China and integrated ordinary least squares and spatial regression models to deeply analyze the different impacts of construction land types on carbon emissions. The results revealed that (1) in Southwest China, carbon emissions were generally distributed in clusters, with significant spatial variability and dependence; (2) the distribution of urban land scale, rural settlement land scale, and other construction land scale all showed obvious spatial clustering differences; (3) all three types of construction land's effect on carbon emissions was positive, and the direction of impact was in line with theoretical expectations; and (4) the other construction land scale had the highest effect on carbon emissions, followed by rural settlement land scale, while the urban land scale was slightly lower. The findings help to further explain the different impacts of construction land types on carbon emissions and provide theoretical references for the government to formulate more refined emissions reduction policies. The family Boletaceae primarily represents ectomycorrhizal fungi, which play an essential ecological role in forest ecosystems. Although the Boletaceae family has been subject to a relatively global and comprehensive history of work, novel species and genera are continually described. During this investigation in northern China, many specimens of boletoid fungi were collected. Based on the study of their morphology and phylogeny, four new species, Butyriboletus pseudoroseoflavus, Butyriboletus subregius, Tengioboletus subglutinosus, and Suillellus lacrymibasidiatus, are introduced. Morphological evidence and phylogenetic analyses of the single or combined dataset (ITS or 28S, rpb1, rpb2, and tef1) confirmed these to be four new species. The evidence and analyses indicated the new species' relationships with other species within their genera. Detailed descriptions, color photographs, and line drawings are provided. Five new Cortinarius species, C. neobalaustinus, C. pseudocamphoratus, C. subnymphatus, C. wuliangshanensis and C. yanjiensis spp. nov., are proposed based on a combination of morphological and molecular evidence. Cortinarius neobalaustinus is characterized by a very weakly hygrophanous and yellowish-brown to brown pileus and small and weakly verrucose basidiospores. Cortinarius pseudocamphoratus can be characterized by a viscid pileus, a strongly unpleasant smell, amygdaloid to somewhat ellipsoid basidiospores and lageniform to subfusiform cheilocystidia. Cortinarius subnymphatus is identified by a strongly hygrophanous pileus that is reddish-brown with a black-brown umbo, a yellowish universal veil and ellipsoid to subamygdaloid basidiospores. Cortinarius wuliangshanensis is characterized by a moderately to strongly hygrophanous, translucently striated and yellowish to reddish-brown pileus and rather weakly and moderately verrucose basidiospores. Cortinarius yanjiensis is distinguished by a weakly to moderately hygrophanous and yellowish to brown pileus and moderately to rather strongly verrucose basidiospores. The phylogenetic analyses were performed with maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference methods based on the data set of nuc rDNA ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS), D1–D2 domains of nuc 28S rDNA (28S) and RNA polymerase II second largest subunit (rpb2), and the results show that C. neobalaustinus, C. wulianghsanensis and C. yanjiensis cluster in sect. Illumini, C. pseudocamporatus belongs to sect. Camphorati and C. subnymphatus belongs to sect. Laeti. In addition, a study of basidiospores under field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) was conducted. Landslides are destructive geological hazards that occur all over the world. Due to the periodic regulation of reservoir water level, a large number of landslides occur in the Three Gorges Reservoir area (TGRA). The main objective of this study was to explore the preference of machine learning models for landslide susceptibility mapping in the TGRA. The Wushan segment of TGRA was selected as a case study. At first, 165 landslides were identified and a total of 14 landslide causal factors were constructed from different data sources. Multicollinearity analysis and information gain ratio (IGR) model were applied to select landslide causal factors. Subsequently, the landslide susceptibility mapping using the calculated results of four models, namely, support vector machines (SVM), artificial neural networks (ANN), classification and regression tree (CART), and logistic regression (LR). The accuracy of these four maps were evaluated using the receive operating characteristic (ROC) and the accuracy statistic. Results revealed that eliminating the inconsequential factors can perhaps improve the accuracy of landslide susceptibility modelling, and the SVM model had the best performance in this study, providing strong technical support for landslide susceptibility modelling in TGRA. Artificial recharge engineering has been widely used to solve the water resource crisis. However, there are still some safety hazards regarding reclaimed water quality. Here, chlorinated secondary effluent (SE) was injected into saturated porous media composed of high–purity quartz sands. The column experiment was conducted and modeled through a developed numerical model to predict the evolution of physical clogging. Some representative inorganic and organic indicators were measured both at different times and in different column sections. The study showed that the relative hydraulic conductivity (K/K0) decreased significantly by approximately 63.5% in 40 h. Especially for the first 3 cm of the column, the clogging was the most serious, with a decrease of approximately 85.8%. The porous media has a certain degree of filtration effect on turbidity, TOC, protein (Pr) and polysaccharide (PS) but has slight removal for other water quality indicators. Pr is the main component of the intercepted TOC, and its content is higher than that of Ps. Moreover, the inorganic and organic parameter variations along the column further verified that the organic floc particles were mainly retained in the first 3 cm. The 3D excitation/emission matrix (3DEEM) fluorescence spectra illustrated that the humic acids and fulvic acids were easy to release and that their injection may be harmful to groundwater quality. The study will lay a theoretical foundation and provide a guiding scheme for optimizing China's reclaimed water reuse technology, ensuring the safety of reclaimed water quality. Objective: To develop and validate an admission warning strategy that incorporates the general emergency department indicators for predicting the hospital discharge outcome of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) in China. Methods: This admission warning strategy was developed in a primary cohort that consisted of 605 patients with TBI who were admitted within 6 h of injury. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and multivariable logistic regression analysis were used to develop the early warning strategy of selected indicators. Two sub-cohorts consisting of 180 and 107 patients with TBI were used for the external validation. Results: Indicators of the strategy included three categories: baseline characteristics, imaging and laboratory indicators. This strategy displayed good calibration and good discrimination. A high C-index was reached in the internal validation. The multicenter external validation cohort still showed good discrimination C-indices. Decision curve analysis (DCA) showed the actual needs of this strategy when the possibility threshold was 0.01 for the primary cohort, and at thresholds of 0.02–0.83 and 0.01–0.88 for the two sub-cohorts, respectively. In addition, this strategy exhibited a significant prognostic capacity compared to the traditional single predictors, and this optimization was also observed in two external validation cohorts. Conclusions: We developed and validated an admission warning strategy that can be quickly deployed in the emergency department. This strategy can be used as an ideal tool for predicting hospital discharge outcomes and providing objective evidence for early informed consent of the hospital discharge outcome to the family members of TBI patients. Karst forests have complex and unique carbon cycle characteristics. Soil organic carbon saturation deficit (CSD) is an important indicator of soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration potential; exploring its characteristics and driving factors is a priority theme in current research on the carbon cycles of terrestrial ecosystems. In this study, 171 topsoil samples from typical karst forests in southwest China were used as the study objects. A SOC maximum saturation capacity model was constructed using the boundary line method. The CSD is equal to the maximum saturated capacity of SOC minus the current SOC. We analyzed the CSD and its main driving factors in different regions and succession stages. The results showed that the fractions of carbon and SOC contents in the karst forests at different successional stages in descending order were as follows: climax stage > arbor stage > shrub stage > herb stage. The CSD was the highest at the herb stage in Maolan, Yuntai Mountain, and Dashahe at 83.04%, 89.99%, and 89.97%, respectively, followed by the shrub stage with 48.69%, 78.50%, and 84.95%, and the lowest at the arbor stage with 25.69%, 43.44%, and 60.49%. The main drivers of CSD in the karst forest of Maolan were litter carbon input, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total SOC, and were litter carbon input at Yuntai Mountain and litter carbon input and neutral phosphatase at Dashahe. The results indicate that the core driver of CSD in the karst forest is litter carbon input, and this can be adjusted in the future to regulate the carbon sequestration capacity of SOC. Landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) can provide valuable information for local governments in landslide prevention and mitigation. Despite significant improvements in the predictive performance of LSM, it remains a challenge to be carried out in areas with limited availability of data. For example, in the early stage of road construction, landslide inventory data can be particularly scarce, while there is a high need to have a susceptibility map. This study aims to set up a novel procedure for coupling the knowledge-driven and data-driven models for LSM in an area with limited landslide inventory data. In particular, we propose a two-step approach. The first step consists of applying four data-driven models (logistic regression, decision tree, support vector machines, and random forest (RF)) to derive a regional susceptibility map. In the second step, the application of a heuristic model (analytic hierarchy process, AHP) is proposed to calculate a local susceptibility map for the areas with incomplete landslide inventories. The final landslide susceptibility map is obtained by merging the most accurate regional map (RF) with the local map. We apply this novel procedure to a landslide-prone region with developed road construction (National Highway G69) in Wanzhou district, where landslide inventory is difficult to update due to timely recovery from landslide-induced road damage. Results show that the proposed methodology allows identifying new landslide-prone areas, and improving LSM predictive performance, as demonstrated by the fact that two new landslides developed along G69 were perfectly classified in the highly susceptible areas. The results show that implementing the landslide susceptibility assessment with different geographical settings and combining them into best-sensitivity partitions is more accurate than focusing on creating new models or hybrid models. The upper reaches of the Yangtze River are a very important ecological barrier in China, but the ecological benefits of large-scale Cupressus funebris Endl.plantations are low. This study investigated 12 plantations of different compositions and densities, including two densities of Cinnamomum septentrionale Hand.-Mazz. (Cs), Alnus cremastogyne Burk. (Ac), and Toona sinensis (A. Juss.) Roem. (Ts), and mixed plantations of Cs + Ac (CA), Ts + Cs (TC), Ts + Ac (TA), and Ac + Ts + Cs (ATC) and the cutting-blank (CB), and, at the same time, the unreconstructed pure C. funebris (Cf) forest was set as the control. We aimed to explore the influence mechanism of upper tree composition and density on shrub diversity, as well as the relationship between shrub diversity and niche. Our research results are as follows: (1) Among all the patterns, the TA, CA, and TC patterns are the most conducive to improving the diversity of shrubs. The composition and density of different trees have a great influence on the diversity of shrubs. (2) Niche is closely related to the diversity of shrubs. In the patterns of low niche overlap between dominant shrubs, the diversity of shrubs is greater. Root lodging (RL) in maize can reduce yield and grain quality. A wide–narrow row planting pattern can increase maize yield in the growing regions of northeastern China, but whether it can improve RL resistance is not clear. Therefore, in this study, the root architecture distribution, root physiological activity, and root lodging rate under planting pattern 1 (uniform ridge of 65 cm, east–west ridge direction) and pattern 2 (wide–narrow rows, 40 double narrow rows and 90 wide rows, north–south ridge direction) were studied. The results showed that the RL rate under pattern 2 was significantly lower than that under pattern 1. The number and diameter of nodal roots on the upper node, the root failure moment, and the root bleeding sap intensity at the 3 weeks after VT under pattern 2 were significantly higher than those under pattern 1. Root length density in the 0–40 cm soil layer tended to be inter-row distributed. Therefore, the RL resistance of maize under pattern 2 was increased through an adjustment in the root architecture distribution and root physiological activity in northeastern China. Ionospheric delay is a crucial error source and determines the source of single-frequency precise point positioning (SF-PPP) accuracy. To meet the demands of real-time SF-PPP (RT-SF-PPP), several international global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) service (IGS) analysis centers provide real-time global ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) products. However, the accuracy distribution of VTEC products is nonuniform. Proposing a refinement method is a convenient means to obtain a more accuracy and consistent VTEC product. In this study, we proposed a refinement method of a real-time ionospheric VTEC model for China and carried out experiments to validate the model effectiveness. First, based on the refinement method and the Centre National d'Études Spatiales (CNES) VTEC products, three refined real-time global ionospheric models (RRTGIMs) with one, three, and six stations in China were built via GNSS observations. Second, the slant total electron content (STEC) and Jason-3 VTEC were used as references to evaluate VTEC accuracy. Third, RT-SF-PPP was used to evaluate the accuracy in the positioning domain. Results showed that even if using only one station to refine the global ionospheric model, the refined model achieved a better performance than CNES and the Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (CODE). Landslides are a common natural hazard that causes casualties and unprecedented economic losses every year, especially in vulnerable developing countries. Considering the high cost of in-situ monitoring equipment and the sparse coverage of monitoring points, the Sentinel-1 images and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technique were used to conduct landslide monitoring and analysis. The Muyubao landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir area in China was taken as a case study. A total of 37 images from March 2016 to September 2017 were collected, and the displacement time series were extracted using the Stanford Method for Persistent Scatterer (StaMPS) small baselines subset method. The comparison to global positioning system monitoring results indicated that the InSAR processing of the Muyubao landslide was accurate and reliable. Combined with the field investigation, the deformation evolution and its response to triggering factors were analyzed. During this monitoring period, the creeping process of the Muyubao landslide showed obvious spatiotemporal deformation differences. The changes in the reservoir water level were the trigger of the Muyubao landslide, and its deformation mainly occurred during the fluctuation period and high-water level period of the reservoir. Conservative agricultural practices have been adopted to improve soil quality and maintain crop productivity. An efficient intercropping of maize with mushroom has been developed in Northeast China. The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the effects of planting patterns on the diversity and structure of the soil bacterial communities at a 0–20 cm depth in the black soil zone of Northeast China. The experiment consisted of monoculture of maize and mushroom, and intercropping in a split-plot arrangement. The characteristics of soil microbial communities were performed by 16S rRNA gene amplicom sequencing. The results showed that intercropping increased soil bacterial richness and diversity compared with maize monoculture. The relative abundances of Acidobacteria, Chloroflexi, Saccharibacteria and Planctomycetes were significantly higher, whereas Proteobacteria and Firmicutes were lower in intercropping than maize monoculture. Redundancy analysis suggested that pH, NO3−-N and NH4+-N contents had a notable effect on the structure of the bacterial communities. Moreover, intercropping significantly increased the relative abundance of carbohydrate metabolism pathway functional groups. Overall, these findings demonstrated that intercropping of maize with mushroom strongly impacts the physical and chemical properties of soil as well as the diversity and structure of the soil bacterial communities, suggesting this is a sustainable agricultural management practice in Northeast China. Ground-based multi-axis differential optical absorption spectroscopy (MAX-DOAS) measurements were performed during the summer (13 June–20 August) of 2014 at a rural site in North China Plain. The vertical profiles of aerosol extinction (AE) in the lower troposphere were retrieved to analyze the temporal variations of AE profiles, near-surface AE, and aerosol optical depth (AOD). The average AOD and near-surface AE over the period of study were 0.51 ± 0.26 and 0.33 ± 0.18 km−1 during the effective observation period, respectively. High AE events and elevated AE layers were identified based on the time series of hourly AE profiles, near-surface AEs and AODs. It is found that in addition to the planetary boundary layer height (PBLH) and relative humidity (RH), the variations in the wind field have large impacts on the near-surface AE, AOD, and AE profile. Among 16 wind sectors, higher AOD or AE occur mostly in the directions of the cities upstream. The diurnal variations of the AE profiles, AODs and near-surface AEs are significant and influenced mainly by the source emissions, PBLH, and RH. The AE profile shape from MAX-DOAS measurement is generally in agreement with that from light detection and ranging (lidar) observations, although the AE absolute levels are different. There is accumulating evidence that the abundance and biomass of lianas are increasing with global climate change in the Neotropics. However, our knowledge of growth–trait relationships among lianas is surprisingly rare. Here, we monitored the relative growth rate of 2860 individuals from seven deciduous and four evergreen liana species in a 20 ha subtropical cloud forest dynamics plot at high elevation (2472–2628 m a.s.l.) in southwest China. We linked the relative growth rate of lianas with nine leaf traits associated with leaf morphology, nutrient concentrations, and water hydraulic capacity as indicated by leaf vein density, and five stem wood traits related to stem water transport capacity and wood density. Our results showed that deciduous lianas have higher relative growth rates than their evergreen counterparts. Across all lianas studied, the relative growth rate was positively correlated with the leaf area and specific leaf area, but negatively correlated with leaf dry matter content. The relative growth rate of lianas was strongly correlated with nitrogen concentration after excluding the legume liana species. The relative growth rate was decoupled from leaf phosphorus and potassium concentrations, leaf vein density, and stem vessel traits across all lianas investigated. For four evergreen lianas, there were positive associations of the relative growth rate with the leaf thickness and diameter of the largest vessels. This study is the first to illustrate the relationships of liana growth with leaf and stem traits in the high-elevation subtropical cloud forest. In the process of urbanization in China, the problem of atmospheric suspended particulate matter pollution is becoming increasingly serious. It has been impossible to completely rely on pollution source control measures to solve this problem for a long time due to the diversity and complexity of pollution sources. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore alternate solutions to significantly improve air quality through increasing the capacity of green space in cities as these locations can provide multiple ecosystem services. In this study, a three-dimensional classification system was created by utilizing Beijing's urban forest as a study area. Considering the meteorological factors, change of month and time and the characteristics of the forest itself, the significance and difference of reducing the concentration of atmospheric suspended particulate matter by the forest with different vegetation structures were tested. The results showed that meteorological factors such as wind velocity, temperature, and relative humidity all had a very significant effect on the concentration of atmospheric suspended particulate matter in the conditions of this study. The concentration was highest in winter, followed by spring and autumn, and lowest in summer. The concentration in the morning was the lowest of the day, increasing in the noon and afternoon with time. It was the lowest in the closed single-layered mixed forest, and the highest in the open lawn green space. By comparing the forest with gradient areas of 0.5 ha and 3.0 ha, it was found that with the increase in the area, the green space did not necessarily show a better dust retention effect, and the vegetation structure type of the green space often had more important influence. There was a very significant correlation between vegetation structure and plant diversity (Shannon–Wiener Diversity Index and Simpson Diversity Index). Biodiversity could significantly support and strengthen urban forest ecological service functions that improve air quality. Increasing the plant species diversity could lead to lower particulate matter concentration. The research conclusions could provide theoretical and practical bases for how to select the combination of vegetation structure in the planning and design of urban forest oriented to improve air quality. A lunar observation campaign was conducted using a hyper-spectral imaging spectrometer in Lijiang, China from December 2015 to February 2016. The lunar hyper-spectral images in the visible to near-infrared region (VNIR) have been obtained in different lunar phases with absolute scale established by the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), China using the lamp–plate calibration system. At the same time, the aerosol optical depth (AOD) is measured regularly by a lidar and a lunar CE318U for atmospheric characterization to provide nightly atmosphere extinction correction of lunar observations. This paper addressed the complicated data processing procedure in detail from raw images of the spectrometer into the spectral lunar irradiance in different lunar phases. The result of measurement shows that the imaging spectrometer can provide lunar irradiance with uncertainties less than 3.30% except for absorption bands. Except for strong atmosphere absorption region, the mean spectral irradiance difference between the measured irradiance and the ROLO (Robotic Lunar Observatory) model is 8.6 ± 2% over the course of the lunar observation mission. The ROLO model performs more reliable to clarify absolute and relative accuracy of lunar irradiance than that of the MT2009 model in different Sun–Moon–Earth geometry. The spectral ratio analysis of lunar irradiance shows that band-to-band variability in the ROLO model is consistent within 2%, and the consistency of the models in the lunar phase and spectrum is well analyzed and evaluated from phase dependence and phase reddening analysis respectively. To better understand the variability and heterogeneity of pore size distributions (PSDs) in the Longmaxi Shale, twelve shale samples were collected from the Xiaoxi and Fendong section, Sichuan Province, South China. Multifractal analysis was employed to study PSDs of mesopores (2–50 nm) and micropores (<2 nm) based on low-pressure N2/CO2 adsorption (LP-N2/CO2GA). The results show that the PSDs of mesopores and micropores exhibit a multifractal behavior. The multifractal parameters can be divided into the parameters of heterogeneity (D−10–D10, D0–D10 and D−10–D0) and the parameters of singularity (D1 and H). For both the mesopores and micropores, decreasing the singularity of the pore size distribution contributes to larger heterogeneous parameters. However, micropores and mesopores also vary widely in terms of the pore heterogeneity and its controlling factors. Shale with a higher total organic carbon (TOC) content may have a larger volume of micropores and more heterogeneous mesopores. Rough surface and less concentrated pore size distribution hinder the transport of adsorbent in mesopores. The transport properties of micropores are not affected by the pore fractal dimension. The wide dissemination of New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase genes (blaNDM) has resulted in the treatment failure of most available β-lactam antibiotics, with IncX3-type blaNDM-5-carrying plasmids recognised as having spread worldwide. In China, bacteria carrying these plasmids are increasingly being detected from diverse samples, including hospitals, communities, livestock and poultry, and the environment, suggesting that IncX3 plasmids are becoming a vital vehicle for blaNDM dissemination. To elucidate the fitness cost of these plasmids on the bacterial host, we collected blaNDM-negative strains from different sources and tested their ability to acquire the blaNDM-5-harboring p3R-IncX3 plasmid. We then measured changes in antimicrobial susceptibility, growth kinetics, and biofilm formation following plasmid acquisition. Overall, 70.7% (29/41) of our Enterobacteriaceae recipients successfully acquired the blaNDM-5-harboring p3R-IncX3 plasmid. Contrary to previous plasmid burden theory, 75.9% (22/29) of the transconjugates showed little fitness cost as a result of plasmid acquisition, with 6.9% (2/29) of strains exhibiting enhanced growth compared with their respective wild-type strains. Following plasmid acquisition, all transconjugates demonstrated resistance to most β-lactams, while several strains showed enhanced biofilm formation, further complicating treatment and prevention measures. Moreover, the highly virulent Escherichia coli sequence type 131 strain that already harbored mcr-1 also demonstrated the ability to acquire the blaNDM-5-carrying p3R-IncX3 plasmid, resulting in further limited therapeutic options. This low fitness cost may partly explain the rapid global dissemination of blaNDM-5-harboring IncX3 plasmids. Our study highlights the growing threat of IncX3 plasmids in spreading blaNDM-5. The Himawari-8 geostationary weather satellite, which is an Earth observing satellite launched in October 2014, has been applied in climate, environment, and air quality studies. Using hourly observation data from the Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) on board Himawari-8, a new dark target algorithm was proposed to retrieve the aerosol optical depth (AOD) at 1 km and 5 km resolutions over mainland China. Because of the short satellite operation time and lack of AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET) sites across China, we cannot derive robust and representative surface reflectance relationships for the visible to near-infrared channels by atmospheric correction. Therefore, we inherited the empirical reflectance relationship from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and we used the AHI and MODIS spectral response functions to make the relationship more suitable for AHI. Ultimately, our AOD products can better reflect the regional characteristics with the AHI sensor. Seasonal averages showed that our product is more similar to MODIS Collection 6 (C6) Dark Target (DT) AOD than the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) AHI AOD, but the difference is largest in winter. In addition, we evaluated several satellite retrieval products (our AHI AOD, JAXA AHI AOD, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) VIIRS AOD, MODIS DT AOD, and MODIS DB AOD) against AERONET AOD from July 2016 to June 2017. The results showed that our AHI measurements demonstrate good agreement with, but exhibit a little overestimation, as compared to ground-based AERONET measurements with a correlation coefficient of 0.83 and an root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.112. The hourly validation also showed stable statistical results. A time series comparison with ground-based observations from two AERONET sites (Beijing-CAMS and XiangHe) showed that our AHI AOD products have trends as those in MODIS DB AOD, but that the bias in Beijing-CAMS is positive and higher than that in XiangHe. This error and the slight overestimation may be caused by the single continental aerosol model assumption and not considering the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). This paper investigates the impact of land use/cover type changes in the Haideigou open-pit coal mine on the evolution of the landscape patterns and ecological and environmental quality in the mine area, based on medium- and high-resolution remote sensing images in 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021 using ArcGIS 10.5, Fragstats 4.2, and the Google Earth Engine platform. The results show that: (1) From 2006 to 2021, the area of cropland and waste dumps in the Heidaigou mining area changed significantly, the land use shifted in a single direction, and the overall land use change was unbalanced. (2) Through the analysis of landscape indicators, it was shown that the diversity of the landscape patches in the study area increased, connectivity decreased, and the patches became more fragmented. (3) Based on the changes in the mean value of the RSEI over the past 15 years, the ecological environment quality of the mining area deteriorated first and then improved. The quality of the ecological environment in the mining area was significantly affected by human activities. This study provides an important basis for achieving the sustainability and stability of ecological environmental development in mining areas.

The integration of chronic disease management (CDM) services into the essential public health services offered by primary care facilities has been a major strategy in China's healthcare reform since 2009. We aimed to measure the percentage of patients with chronic diseases in China who believed that they could easily obtain CDM services at a nearby primary care facility in mainland China and determine its association with the EQ visual analog scale (EQ-VAS) score and the utility index of the 5-level EQ-5D version (EQ-5D-5L). A cross-sectional survey was conducted nationwide between 20 June 2022 and 31 August 2022, involving 5525 patients with chronic diseases from 32 provincial-level administrative divisions, of which 48.1% ( n = 2659) were female with a median age of 55.0 years. The median EQ-VAS score was 73.0 and the utility index of the EQ-5D-5L was 0.942. A majority of patients reported definite (24.3%) or mostly (45.9%) easy access to CDM services from nearby primary care facilities. Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that easy access to CDM services in primary care facilities was positively associated with higher HRQoL. Our findings indicate that, as of 2022, approximately 70% of patients with chronic diseases in mainland China had easy access to CDM services provided by primary care facilities, which was significantly and positively associated with their health status.
