Carbon dots (CDs) are luminescent carbon nanoparticles with significant potential in analytical sensing, biomedicine, and energy regeneration due to their remarkable optical, physical, biological, and catalytic properties. In light of the enduring ecological impact of non-biomass waste that persists in the environment, efforts have been made toward converting non-biomass waste, such as ash, waste plastics, textiles, and papers into CDs. This review introduces non-biomass waste carbon sources and classifies them in accordance with the 2022 Australian National Waste Report. The synthesis approaches, including pre-treatment methods, and the properties of the CDs derived from non-biomass waste are comprehensively discussed. Subsequently, we summarize the diverse applications of CDs from non-biomass waste in sensing, information encryption, LEDs, solar cells, and plant growth promotion. In the final section, we delve into the future challenges and perspectives of CDs derived from non-biomass waste, shedding light on the exciting possibilities in this emerging area of research. Purpose: This review systematically summarizes the studies of the relationship between primary-to-secondary school students' motor skills and academic achievement, and analyzes the relationship between gross and fine motor skills and performance in different subjects. Method: Five electronic databases, Web Of Science, PubMed, PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus, and Academic Search Premier, were searched in March 2023. Semi-quantitative assessment methods were used to analyze the results of the included studies. Results: Seventy-eight articles were included in this systematic review. The semi-quantitative assessment results showed that gross (+, 65.0/62.5%) and fine motor skills (+, 83.3/80%) were positively correlated with overall performance and language performance, with ≥60% of the associations in the same direction. For different subjects, fine motor skills were positively correlated with students' mathematics (+, 75.0%), reading (+, 72.7%), writing (+, 66.7%), and spelling (+, 60.0%) scores. However, the association between gross motor skills and students' mathematics achievement (?, 52.8%), reading (?, 53.8%), and spelling (?, 50.0%) is uncertain, with <60% of the associations in the same direction. Conclusions: It is wise to direct our gaze toward the evolution of motor skills among students, especially primary school students. To improve our understanding of flaming, smoldering, or self-extinction in the burning of wood, it is necessary to quantify the conditions that lead to self-extinguished and self-sustained smoldering combustion. Experiments were performed in a cone calorimeter under an external irradiation of 10 to 25 kW/m2 to analyze the temperature and mass loss of self-extinguished and self-sustained smoldering. The smoldering front depth was the significant parameter used to capture the smoldering characteristic, and it was defined as the axial thickness that reaches the smoldering characteristic temperature. The critical smoldering front depth of self-extinguished smoldering was lower than 10–15 mm for 30 mm thick wood at 15.5 kW/m2 irradiation. This critical depth decreased with the increase in heat flux, from 26.5 ± 1.5 mm at 10 kW/m2 to 11 ± 1 mm at 25 kW/m2. A simple theoretical analysis is proposed to explain the smoldering thickness threshold of self-sustained smoldering propagation based on the local heat balance. The equation predicts that the critical depth decreases as the heat flux increases, from 23.9 mm at 8 kW/m2 to 7.3 mm at 25 kW/m2. The predicted critical depth and heating duration were consistent with the experimental results. Due to the difficulty in dealing with non-stationary and nonlinear vibration signals using the single decomposition method, it is difficult to extract weak fault features from complex noise; therefore, this paper proposes a fault feature extraction method for rolling bearings based on complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) and variational mode decomposition (VMD) methods. CEEMDAN was used to decompose the signal, and the signal was then screened and reconstructed according to the component envelope kurtosis. Based on the kurtosis of the maximum envelope spectrum as the fitness function, the sparrow search algorithm (SSA) was used to perform adaptive parameter optimization for VMD, which decomposed the reconstructed signal into several IMF components. According to the kurtosis value of the envelope spectrum, the optimal component was selected for an envelope demodulation analysis to realize fault feature extraction for rolling bearings. Finally, by using open data sets and experimental data, the accuracy of envelope kurtosis and envelope spectrum kurtosis as a component selection index was verified, and the superiority of the proposed feature extraction method for rolling bearings was confirmed by comparing it with other methods. High-sugar and high-fat diets cause significant harm to health, especially via metabolic diseases. In this study, the protective effects of the antidiabetic drug exenatide (synthetic exendin-4), a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, on high-fat and high-glucose (HFHG)-induced renal injuries were investigated in vivo and in vitro. In vivo and in vitro renal injury models were established. Metabolomic analysis based on 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance was performed to examine whether exenatide treatment exerts a protective effect against kidney injury in diabetic rats and to explore its potential molecular mechanism. In vivo, 8 weeks of exenatide treatment resulted in the regulation of most metabolites in the diabetes mellitus group. In vitro results showed that exendin-4 restored the mitochondrial functions of mesangial cells, which were perturbed by HFHG. The effects of exendin-4 included the improved antioxidant capacity of mesangial cells, increased the Bcl-2/Bax ratio, and reduced protein expression of cyt-c and caspase-3 activation. In addition, exendin-4 restored mesangial cell energy metabolism by increasing succinate dehydrogenase and phosphofructokinase activities and glucose consumption while inhibiting pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 activity. In conclusion, GLP-1 agonists improve renal injury in diabetic rats by ameliorating metabolic disorders. This mechanism could be partially related to mitochondrial functions and energy metabolism. Due to their symmetrized dot pattern, rolling bearings are more susceptible to noise than time–frequency characteristics. Therefore, this article proposes a symmetrized dot pattern extraction method based on the Frobenius and nuclear hybrid norm penalized robust principal component analysis (FNHN-RPCA) as well as decomposition and reconstruction. This method focuses on denoising the vibration signal before calculating the symmetric dot pattern. Firstly, the FNHN-RPCA is used to remove the non-correlation between variables to realize the separation of feature information and interference noise. After, the residual interference noise, irrelevant information, and fault features in the separated signal are clearly located in different frequency bands. Then, the ensemble empirical mode decomposition is applied to decompose this information into different intrinsic mode function components, and the improved DPR/KLdiv criterion is used to select components containing fault features for reconstruction. In addition, the symmetrized dot pattern is used to visualize the reconstructed signal. Finally, method validation and comparative analysis are conducted on the CWRU datasets and experimental bench data, respectively. The results show that the improved criteria can accurately complete the screening task, and the proposed method can effectively reduce the impact of strong noise interference on SDPs. The permanent magnet vernier synchronous machine (PMVSM) has the characteristics of high torque density and high power density and has advantages in the field of low-speed and high-torque applications. The PMVSM utilizes rich harmonics for torque enhancement, but it can also cause an increase in radial electromagnetic force and vibration noise. In this paper, we take a 12-slot 10-pole PMVSM as an example to analyze the source of radial electromagnetic force, vibration and noise. The electromagnetic finite-element model and structural finite-element model of the PMVSM are established for calculation. Through the analysis and calculation of two-dimensional electromagnetic fields, the radial electromagnetic force distribution of the PMVSM is obtained. We derive the radial electromagnetic force formula of the PMVSM and verify the correctness of the formula through harmonic analysis of the radial electromagnetic force. The sources of radial electromagnetic forces at various orders and frequencies within the PMVSM are analyzed and summarized by coupling the radial electromagnetic force obtained from the electromagnetic finite-element model to the structural finite-element model and conducting electromagnetic vibration harmonic response analysis on the PMVSM. The measured acceleration spectrum of the prototype is compared with the finite-element method (FEM) results, verifying the correctness of the finite-element simulation results for electromagnetic vibration. This research work delves into the potential impact of occupational stress on the mental health, performance, and job satisfaction of civil aviation pilots. To explore this triadic relationship, a battery of six distinct scales was employed, including the Chinese Civil Aviation Pilot Occupational Stress Scale, the Symptom Check List-90 (SCL-90), the Flight Performance Scale, the Job Satisfaction Scale, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ), and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ). A total of 131 valid questionnaires were collected for analysis, yielding a valid response rate of 65.5%. The findings demonstrate a negative correlation between occupational stress experienced by Chinese civil aviation pilots and their mental health, performance, and job satisfaction. Notably, a positive coping style was identified as a moderator in the relationship between occupational stress and flight performance, effectively mitigating the negative impact of stress on flight performance. Similarly, a negative coping style was found to moderate the relationship between occupational stress and job satisfaction, attenuating the adverse effects of occupational stress on job satisfaction. This study underscores the predictive utility of investigating the occupational stress experienced by pilots for understanding their mental health, performance, and job satisfaction. Furthermore, it highlights the potential for adjusting the negative impact of occupational stress on flight performance and job satisfaction through interventions that target pilots' coping styles. Compared to traditional power grids, microgrids have a more flexible operating mode. There are various distributed power sources within the microgrid, and different types of distributed power sources have different control methods. Once a short-circuit fault occurs in the microgrid, these characteristics will increase the difficulty of microgrid fault diagnosis and reduce the accuracy of microgrid fault diagnosis. This paper proposes an error-correcting particle swarm optimization back propagation microgrid fault diagnosis method for the diagnosis of short-circuit faults in microgrids that identifies the accuracy of alarm signals, corrects unreasonable signals, and obtains the correct fault set of the microgrid through the temporal logic relationship between each protection. Using the particle swarm optimization back propagation (PSO-BP) neural network algorithm to train fault alarm signals, fast convergence can be achieved, and accurate diagnostic results can be obtained after the sixth generation training is completed. As this fault diagnosis algorithm is applied to line protection equipment, it can be used to diagnose all types of short-circuit faults. The mode and mechanism of diabetic periodontitis-induced alveolar-osteocyte death are still unclear. This study aimed to investigate the occurrence of ferroptosis in alveolar osteocytes during diabetic periodontitis and the therapeutic potential of resveratrol to alleviate osteocyte ferroptosis. Diabetic periodontitis was induced in C57/BL6-male mice and treated with or without resveratrol. Periodontitis pathogenicity was analyzed by micro-CT and histology, and alveolar-osteocyte ferroptosis was analyzed by immunohistochemistry. MLOY4 osteocytes were treated with P. gingivalis-derived lipopolysaccharide (LPS)+advanced glycosylated end products (AGEs) mimicking diabetic periodontitis condition in vitro, with or without resveratrol or ferrostatin-1 (ferroptosis inhibitor). Osteocyte ferroptosis and expression of inflammatory mediators were analyzed. Diabetic periodontitis aggravated periodontitis pathogenicity and inhibited the expression of GPX4 and SLC7A11 in alveolar osteocytes and resveratrol alleviated these effects. LPS+AGEs triggered osteocyte ferroptosis in vitro as indicated by the downregulated GPX4 and SLC7A11, upregulated malondialdehyde, disrupted mitochondrial morphology, and overexpressed pro-inflammatory mediators IL-1β, TNF-α, SOST, RANKL, and IL-6, and ferrostatin-1 or resveratrol treatment reversed these effects. LPS+AGEs upregulated pIKBα and pNF-κB p65 expression in osteocytes, and resveratrol or ferrostatin-1 reversed this effect. In conclusion, diabetic periodontitis triggers alveolar osteocyte ferroptosis possibly via disruption of the SLC7A11/GPX4 axis, and resveratrol has therapeutic potential to correct this biological event. Matrix metalloproteinase-12 (MMP12), or macrophage metalloelastase, plays important roles in extracellular matrix (ECM) component degradation. Recent reports show MMP12 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases. To date, this review represents the latest comprehensive overview of MMP12 in various oral diseases, such as periodontitis, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), orthodontic tooth movement (OTM), and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Furthermore, the current knowledge regarding the distribution of MMP12 in different tissues is also illustrated in this review. Studies have implicated the association of MMP12 expression with the pathogenesis of several representative oral diseases, including periodontitis, TMD, OSCC, OTM, and bone remodelling. Although there may be a potential role of MMP12 in oral diseases, the exact pathophysiological role of MMP12 remains to be elucidated. Understanding the cellular and molecular biology of MMP12 is essential, as MMP12 could be a potential target for developing therapeutic strategies targeting inflammatory and immunologically related oral diseases. The particle size of pellets is an important parameter in steel big data, and the high density and high overlap rate of pellets bring a great challenge to particle size detection. To address this problem, a particle size intelligent detection algorithm with an improved watershed and a Gaussian mixture model (GMM) is proposed. First, the initial segmentation of the pellets and background is achieved by using adaptive binary segmentation, and then the secondary fine segmentation of the pellets and background is achieved by combining morphological operations such as skeleton extraction and marked watershed segmentation; then, the contour of the connected domain of pellets is calculated, and the non-overlapping pellets in the foreground and the overlapping pellets are filtered according to the roundness of their contours. Finally, the number of overlapping pellets is predicted by Gaussian reconstruction of the grayscale image of the overlapping pellets, and the number and granularity of the overlapping pellets are predicted by the Gaussian reconstruction of the overlapping pellets. The experimental results showed that the algorithm achieved a 91.98% segmentation accuracy in the experimental images. Compared with other algorithms, the algorithm can also effectively suppress the over-segmentation and under-segmentation problems, and it can effectively realize the pellet size detection of dense, overlapping pellets such as those on a pelletizing disk, which provides an effective technical means for the metallurgical performance analysis of pellet ore and intelligent pellet-making driven by big data. The cholesterol-oxidized metabolite 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-OHC) is synthesized by CYP27A1, which is a key factor in vitamin D and oxysterol metabolism. Both vitamin D and 27-OHC are considered to play important roles in Alzheimer's disease (AD). The study aims to research the effects of co-supplementation of vitamin D, folic acid, and vitamin B12 on learning and memory ability in vitamin D-deficient mice, and to explore the underlying mechanism. In this study, C57BL/6J mice were fed a vitamin D-deficient diet for 13 weeks to establish a vitamin D-deficient mice model. The vitamin D-deficient mice were then orally gavaged with vitamin D (VD), folic acid (FA), and vitamin B12 (VB12) alone or together for eight weeks. Following the gavage, the learning and memory ability of the mice were evaluated by Morris Water Maze and Novel object recognition test. The CYP27A1-related gene and protein expressions in the liver and brain were determined by qRT-PCR. The serum level of 27-OHC was detected by HPLC-MS. Serum levels of 25(OH)D, homocysteine (Hcy), and S-Adenosylmethionine (SAM) were measured by ELISA. After feeding with the vitamin D-deficient diet, the mice performed longer latency to a platform (p < 0.001), lower average speed (p = 0.026) in the Morris Water Maze, a lower time discrimination index (p = 0.009) in Novel object recognition, and performances were reversed after vitamin D, folic acid and vitamin B12 supplementation alone or together (p < 0.05). The gene expressions of CYP27A1 in the liver and brain were upregulated in the vitamin D-deficiency (VDD) group compared with the control (CON) group (p = 0.015), while it was downregulated in VDD + VD and VDD + VD-FA/VB12 groups compared with the VDD group (p < 0.05), with a similar trend in the protein expression of CYP27A1. The serum levels of 27-OHC were higher in the VDD group, compared with CON, VDD + VD, and VDD + VD-FA/VB12 group (p < 0.05), and a similar trend was found in the brain. The serum 25(OH)D levels were significantly decreased in the vitamin D-deficiency group (p = 0.008), and increased in the vitamin D-supplemented group (p < 0.001). The serum levels of SAM were higher in the B vitamins-supplemented group, compared with CON and VDD groups (p < 0.05). This study suggests that CYP27A1 expression may be involved in the mechanism of learning and memory impairment induced by vitamin D deficiency. Co-supplementation with vitamin D, folic acid, and vitamin B12 significantly reverses this effect by affecting the expression of CYP27A1, which in turn regulates the metabolism of 27-OHC, 25(OH)D, and SAM. Atherosclerosis is the most common disease of the vascular system and the metabolic disorder is one of its important molecular mechanisms. SAP protein is found to be highly expressed in atherosclerotic blood vessels. Our previous study found that SAP deficiency can significantly inhibit the development of atherosclerosis. However, the regulatory effect of SAP deficiency on AS metabolism is unknown. Based on 1H-NMR metabonomics, this study investigated the serum metabolic changes in ApoE−/−;SAP−/− mice compared with ApoE−/− mice during the whole progression of atherosclerosis. The results showed that acetate, pyruvate, choline and VLDL + LDL were statistically regulated to the normal levels as in C57 mice by SAP deficiency in ApoE−/−;SAP−/− mice at 8 w (without obvious plaques). With the appearance and aggravation of atherosclerotic plaques (8 + 4 w and 8 + 8 w), the four metabolites of acetate, pyruvate, choline and VLDL + LDL were continuously regulated, which were denoted as the metabolic regulatory markers of SAP deficiency. We also found that the changes in these four metabolites had nothing to do with high-fat diet. Therefore, it was revealed that SAP deficiency regulated the metabolic disorders in ApoE−/− prior to the appearance of obvious atherosclerotic plaques, which is one of the important mechanisms leading to the inhibition of atherosclerosis, providing a new basis for the application of SAP in atherosclerosis. The occupational stress, anxiety symptoms and TABP of Chinese civil aviation pilots are investigated by using questionnaires based on the effort-reward-imbalance (ERI) scale, the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and a TABP scale established based on Chinese people's inherent characteristics. The study revealed that higher occupational stress experienced by Chinese civil aviation pilots exacerbated their anxiety symptoms, and that overcommitment and TABP mediated the relationship between occupational stress and anxiety symptoms. Periodontal diseases are predisposing factors to the development of many systemic disorders, which is often initiated via leukocyte infiltration and vascular inflammation. These diseases could significantly affect human health and quality of life. Hence, it is vital to explore effective therapies to prevent disease progression. Periodontitis, which is characterized by gingival bleeding, disruption of the gingival capillary's integrity, and irreversible destruction of the periodontal supporting bone, appears to be caused by overexpression of selectins in periodontal tissues. Selectins (P-, L-, and E-selectins) are vital members of adhesion molecules regulating inflammatory and immune responses. They are mainly located in platelets, leukocytes, and endothelial cells. Furthermore, selectins are involved in the immunopathogenesis of vascular inflammatory diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancers, and so on, by mediating leukocyte recruitment, platelet activation, and alteration of endothelial barrier permeability. Therefore, selectins could be new immunotherapeutic targets for periodontal disorders and their associated systemic diseases since they play a crucial role in immune regulation and endothelium dysfunction. However, the research on selectins and their association with periodontal and systemic diseases remains limited. This review aims to discuss the critical roles of selectins in periodontitis and associated systemic disorders and highlights the potential of selectins as therapeutic targets. The input of pollutants into the lake has ainfluence on the water quality of the lake. Detailing the contribution of water and nutrients from the inflow rivers are essential for lake water management. Major ions Na+ and Cl− were applied to trace contributions of water and total nitrogen (TN) from the inflow rivers to West Dongting Lake. By using the two-source mixing model and the two-component TN mixing model, the results showed that water and TN in West Dongting Lake were mainly contributed by local rivers rather than the three outfalls, in which the contribution of Yuan River was larger than that of Li River. However, the contribution rates of water and TN of the three outfalls to West Dongting Lake during the wet season reached above 20% and 30%, respectively, indicating that the contribution of the three outfalls to West Dongting Lake could not be ignored. Among them, the contributions of Songzi outfall were higher than those from Taiping and Ouchi outfalls. Therefore, we suggest that the relevant departments should identify key river management targets during different water periods, implement refined management over water pollution in West Dongting Lake, and prioritize the pollutant input of Yuran River and Songzi outfall (especially during the wet season). This study demonstrates that major ion tracing is suitable for estimating the contribution rates of different nutrient sources in the river-lake system, which will provide valuable information for protecting the water quality of West Dongting Lake in the future. Research has proven that light treatment, specifically red light radiation, can provide more clinical benefits to human health. Our investigation was firstly conducted to characterize the tissue morphology of mouse breast post 660 nm laser radiation with low power and long-term exposure. RNA sequencing results revealed that light exposure with a higher intervention dosage could cause a number of differentially expressed genes compared with a low intervention dosage. Gene ontology analysis, protein–protein interaction network analysis, and gene set enrichment analysis results suggested that 660 nm light exposure can activate more transcription-related pathways in HC11 breast epithelial cells, and these pathways may involve modulating critical gene expression. To consider the critical role of the Wnt/T-catenin pathway in light-induced modulation, we hypothesized that this pathway might play a major role in response to 660 nm light exposure. To validate our hypothesis, we conducted qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence staining, and Western blot assays, and relative results corroborated that laser radiation could promote expression levels of β-catenin and relative phosphorylation. Significant changes in metabolites and pathway analysis revealed that 660 nm laser could affect nucleotide metabolism by regulating purine metabolism. These findings suggest that the Wnt/β-catenin pathway may be the major sensor for 660 nm laser radiation, and it may be helpful to rescue drawbacks or side effects of 660 nm light exposure through relative interventional agents. Dysregulated brain cholesterol metabolism is one of the characteristics of Alzheimer's disease (AD). 27-Hydroxycholesterol (27-OHC) is a cholesterol metabolite that plays an essential role in regulating cholesterol metabolism and it is suggested that it contributes to AD-related cognitive deficits. However, the link between 27-OHC and cholesterol homeostasis, and how this relationship relates to AD pathogenesis, remain elusive. Here, 12-month-old ApoE ε4 transgenic mice were injected with saline, 27-OHC, 27-OHC synthetase inhibitor (anastrozole, ANS), and 27-OHC+ANS for 21 consecutive days. C57BL/6J mice injected with saline were used as wild-type controls. The indicators of cholesterol metabolism, synaptic structure, amyloid β 1-42 (Aβ1-42), and learning and memory abilities were measured. Compared with the wild-type mice, ApoE ε4 mice had poor memory and dysregulated cholesterol metabolism. Additionally, damaged brain tissue and synaptic structure, cognitive decline, and higher Aβ1-42 levels were observed in the 27-OHC group. Moreover, cholesterol transport proteins such as ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1), apolipoprotein E (ApoE), low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), and low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein1 (LRP1) were up-regulated in the cortex after the 27-OHC treatment. The levels of cholesterol metabolism-related indicators in the hippocampus were not consistent with those in the cortex. Additionally, higher serum apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) levels and lower serum ApoE levels were observed in the 27-OHC group. Notably, ANS partially reversed the effects of 27-OHC. In conclusion, the altered cholesterol metabolism induced by 27-OHC was involved in Aβ1-42 deposition and abnormalities in both the brain tissue and synaptic structure, ultimately leading to memory loss in the ApoE ε4 transgenic mice. From the point of view that pellet microstructure determines its metallurgical properties, an improved support vector machine (SVM) model for pellet metallurgical properties forecast is studied based on the mineral phase characteristics, in order to improve the evaluation efficiency of pellet metallurgical properties. The forecast model is composed of a SVM with self-adaptive selection of kernel parameters and a SVM with self-adaptive compounding of kernel types. This not only guarantees the super interpolation ability of the forecast model, but also takes into account its good generalization performance. Based on 200 sets of original sample information, the quantitative relationship between the main characteristics of mineral phase and the grade labels of pellet metallurgical properties (reduction expansion index RSI, reduction index RI, low temperature reduction and pulverization index RDI) was determined by the improved SVM model. With the simulation results of RSI, RI, and RDI with the accuracy of 100%, 98%, and 100% respectively, the precise forecast of pellet metallurgical properties based on mineral phase is realized. Inorganic perovskite ferroelectric-based nanomaterials as sustainable new energy materials, due to their intrinsic ferroelectricity and environmental compatibility, are intended to play a crucial role in photoelectrochemical field as major functional materials. Because of versatile physical properties and excellent optoelectronic properties, ferroelectric-based nanomaterials attract much attention in the field of photocatalysis, photoelectrochemical water splitting and photovoltaic. The aim of this review is to cover the recent advances by stating the different kinds of ferroelectrics separately in the photoelectrochemical field as well as discussing how ferroelectric polarization will impact functioning of photo-induced carrier separation and transportation in the interface of the compounded semiconductors. The silicon content of the molten iron is an important indicator of the furnace temperature trend in blast furnace smelting. In view of the multi-scale, non-linear, large time lag and strong coupling characteristics of the blast furnace smelting process, a dynamic prediction model for the silicon content of molten iron is established based on the analysis of comprehensive furnace temperature characterization data. The isolated forest algorithm is used to detect anomalies and analyze the causes of the anomalies in conjunction with the blast furnace mechanism. The maximum correlation-minimum redundancy mutual information feature selection method is used to reduce the dimensionality of the furnace temperature characterization data. The grey correlation analysis with balanced proximity is used to obtain the correlation between the furnace temperature characterization parameters and the silicon content of the molten iron at different time lags and to integrate the furnace temperature characterization data set. The GRA-FCM model is used to divide the parameter set of the integrated furnace temperature characterization and construct a parameter directed network from multiple control parameters to multiple state parameters. The GWO-SVR model is used to predict the state parameters of each delay step by step to achieve dynamic prediction of the silicon content of the molten iron. Finally, the control parameters are adjusted backwards according to the prediction results of the state parameters and the silicon content of the molten iron and expert experience to achieve accurate control of the furnace temperature. Starting from the actual production situation of a blast furnace, the characteristic parameters are divided into control parameters and state parameters. Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) activity deficiency contributes to salt-sensitive hypertension in humans and mice. However, the role of ileal microbiota in salt sensitivity in ANP deficiency-related cardiac injury has not been investigated yet. This study used ANP−/− mice to analyze the role of the salt-sensitive ileal microbiome on cardiac injury. ANP−/− mice showed an increase in blood pressure (BP), the heart weight/body weight (HW/BW) ratio, and cardiac hypertrophy compared with wild-type (WT) mice. ANP deficiency did not impact the histological structure but reduced occludin expression in the ileum. Antibiotics significantly relieved BP and cardiac hypertrophy in ANP−/− mice. A high-salt diet (HSD) increased BP, the HW/BW ratio, and cardiac hypertrophy/fibrosis in WT and ANP−/− mice, and an HSD treatment in ANP−/− mice exacerbated these cardiac parameters. The HSD markedly decreased muscularis layer thickening, villus length, and numbers of Paneth and goblet cells in the ileum of WT and ANP−/− mice. Furthermore, the HSD increased the level of TLR4 and IL-1β in ANP−/− mice ileum compared with WT mice. Antibiotics reduced the HW/BW ratio, cardiac hypertrophy/fibrosis, and the level of TLR4 and IL-1β in the ileum, and rescued the muscularis layer thickening, villus length, and numbers of Paneth and goblet cells in the ileum of HSD-ANP−/− mice. Importantly, ANP deficiency induced the colonization of Burkholderiales bacterium YL45, Lactobacillus johnsonii, and Lactobacillus reuteri in the ileum on the NSD diet, which was only observed in HSD-induced WT mice but not in WT mice on the NSD. Besides, the HSD significantly enhanced the sum of the percentage of the colonization of Burkholderiales bacterium YL45, Lactobacillus johnsonii, and Lactobacillus reuteri in the ileum of ANP−/− mice. Ileal microbiota transfer (IMT) from ANP−/− mice to healthy C57BL/6J mice drove Lactobacillus johnsonii and Lactobacillus reuteri colonization in the ileum, which manifested an increase in BP, the HW/BW ratio, cardiac hypertrophy, and ileal pathology compared with IMT from WT mice. The HSD in C57BL/6J mice with IMT from ANP−/− mice drove the colonization of Burkholderiales bacterium YL45, Lactobacillus johnsonii, and Lactobacillus reuteri in the ileum and further exacerbated the cardiac and ileal pathology. To plan the work of power generation equipment, it is necessary to ensure that the power supply is sufficient and to achieve the minimum cost to ensure the safety and economy of the microgrid. Based on back propagation neural network–local mean decomposition–long short-term memory (BPNN–LMD–LSTM) load prediction, the design is based on a fixed-time consistency algorithm with random delay to predict the economic dispatch of microgrids. Firstly, the initial power load prediction sequence is obtained by continuous training of the back propagation neural network (BPNN); the residual sequence with other influencing factors is decomposed by local mean decomposition (LMD); and the long short-term memory neural network (LSTM) is used to predict the output prediction residual sequence, and the final short-term power load prediction is obtained. Based on predicting load, the fixed-time consistency algorithm with random delay is used to add supply and demand balance constraints to optimize the power distribution of the power generation units of the distributed microgrid and reduce the power generation cost of the microgrid. The results show that the prediction model has better prediction accuracy, and the scheduling algorithm based on the prediction model has a faster convergence rate to reach the lowest power generation cost. The work describes the design, manufacturing, and user interface of a thin-film gas transducer platform that is able to provide real-time detection of toxic vapor. This proof-of-concept system has applications in the field of real-time detection of hazardous gaseous agents that are harmful to the person exposed to the environment. The small-size gas sensor allows for integration with an unmanned aerial vehicle, thus combining high-level mobility with the ability for the real-time detection of hazardous/toxic chemicals or use as a standalone system in industries that deal with harmful gaseous substances. Space launch projects are extremely risky, and any equipment failure or human error may lead to disastrous consequences. Probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) is beneficial to qualitative analysis of risk, but it has not been paid enough attention in risk analysis for space launch systems (SLSs). Compared with most qualitative risk analysis in this field, this paper proposes a risk analysis framework based on Bayesian network (BN) with fuzzy method, which is suitable for probabilistic risk analysis of SLS. This method establishes a risk analysis model of SLS based on statistics and expert experience and reduces the uncertainty of the model by using fuzzy theory. By predicting the system risk probabilities, diagnosing the key risk causes, determining the risk conduction path, and performing a sensitivity analysis, the proposed risk analysis framework is aimed at alleviating this drawback to deal more effectively with the uncertainties in the field of space launches. This paper investigates the event-triggered fault diagnosis (FD) problem for interval type-2 (IT2) Takagi–Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy networked systems. Firstly, an FD fuzzy filter is proposed by using IT2 T-S fuzzy theory to generate a residual signal. This means that the FD filter premise variable needs to not be identical to the nonlinear networked systems (NNSs). The evaluation functions are referenced to determine the occurrence of system faults. Secondly, under the event-triggered mechanism, a fault residual system (FRS) is established with parameter uncertainty, external disturbance and time delay, which can reduce signal transmission and communication pressure. Thirdly, the progressive stability of the fault residual system is guaranteed by using the Lyapunov theory. For the energy bounded condition of external noise interference, the performance criterion is established using linear matrix inequalities. The matrix parameters of the target FD filter are obtained by the convex optimization method. A less conservative fault diagnosis method can be obtained. Dysregulation of cholesterol metabolism and its oxidative products—oxysterols—in the brain is known to be associated with neurodegenerative diseases. It is well-known that 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-OHC) and 24S-hydroxycholesterol (24S-OHC) are the main oxysterols contributing to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the molecular mechanism of how 27-OHC and 24S-OHC cause cognitive decline remains unclear. To verify whether 27-OHC and 24S-OHC affect learning and memory by regulating immune responses, C57BL/6J mice were subcutaneously injected with saline, 27-OHC, 24S-OHC, 27-OHC+24S-OHC for 21 days. The oxysterols level and expression level of related metabolic enzymes, as well as the immunomodulatory factors were measured. Our results indicated that 27-OHC-treated mice showed worse learning and memory ability and higher immune responses, but lower expression level of interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interferon (IFN-λ2) compared with saline-treated mice, while 24S-OHC mice performed better in the Morris water maze test than control mice. No obvious morphological lesion was observed in these 24S-OHC-treated mice. Moreover, the expression level of interleukin-17A (IL-17A), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and macrophage inflammatory protein 3α (MIP-3α) were significantly decreased after 24S-OHC treatment. Notably, compared with 27-OHC group, mice treated with 27-OHC+24S-OHC showed higher brain 24S-OHC level, accompanied by increased CYP46A1 expression level while decreased CYP7B1, retinoic acid-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt) and IL-17A expression level. In conclusion, our study indicated that 27-OHC is involved in regulating the expression of RORγt, disturbing Th17/Treg balance-related immune responses which may be associated with the learning and memory impairment in mice. This paper constructs a spatiotemporal feature fusion network (STNet) to enhance the influence of spatiotemporal features of signals on the diagnostic performance during motor fault diagnosis. The STNet consists of the spatial feature processing capability of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and the temporal feature processing capability of recurrent neural networks (RNN). It is used for fault diagnosis of motor vibration signals. The network uses dual-stream branching to extract the fault features of motor vibration signals by a convolutional neural network and gated recurrent unit (GRU) simultaneously. The features are also enhanced by using the attention mechanism. Then, the temporal and spatial features are fused and input into the softmax function for fault discrimination. After that, the fault diagnosis of motor vibration signals is completed. In addition, several sets of experimental evaluations are conducted. The experimental results show that the vibration signal processing method combined with spatiotemporal features can effectively improve the recognition accuracy of motor faults. Lesion mimic mutants provide ideal genetic materials for elucidating the molecular mechanism of cell death and disease resistance. The maize necrotic leaf mutant (nec-t) is a recessive mutant with necrotic spots and yellow-green leaves. In this study, we found that nec-t was a light and temperature-dependent mutant. Map-based cloning and the allelic test revealed that nec-t was a novel allelic mutant of the Necrotic4 gene. Necrotic4 encodes the coproporphyrinogen III oxidase (CPX1), a key enzyme in the tetrapyrrole pathway, catalyzing coproporphyrinogen III oxidate to protoporphyrinogen IX. Subcellular localization showed that the necrotic4 protein was localized in the chloroplast. Furthermore, RNA-seq analysis showed that the Necrotic4 mutation caused the enhanced chlorophyll degradation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) response. The mechanism of plant lesion formation induced by light and temperature is not clear. Our research provides a basis for understanding the molecular mechanism of necrosis initiation in maize. Background: Grain security is crucial for social stability and ecosystem conservation regionally and globally, and it is particularly concerned widely in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) due to its high altitude and harsh climate for agriculture. Method: In this paper, we calculated and analyzed per capita food and grain consumption, including direct grain consumption, grain for fodder, industry consumption, seeds consumption, and wastage consumption and its changes in the QTP during 1995–2019. Results: The results showed that (1) in 2019, the average food consumption per capita was 333.35 kg, was stable since 1995. The dietary structure of residents was composed of direct grain consumption (44.15%), meat (10.72%), and milk (6.94%). The consumption of meat and milk was higher than the national average. (2) The average daily intake of energy and protein, animal protein, and the ratio of high-quality protein and fat energy were 2156.21 kcal·d−1, 73.53 g·d−1, 23.06 g·d−1, 38.32%, and 27.77% in 2019. Their changes were −342.98 kcal·d−1, −8.91 g·d−1, 11.16 g·d−1, 18.37%, and 11.08%, respectively. (3) The corresponding grain consumption per capita was 284.90 kg·a−1 in 1995, 262.19 kg·a−1 in 2010, and then remained stable until 2019. Conclusion: The study suggested that food consumption per capital was guaranteed at the well-off level since 2010, and food and dietary structure of residents were corresponding to physical geographic and climatic environment in the QTP. The conflict between food security and the ecosystem conservation can be managed without scarifying nature as the total grain consumption was stable since 2010, and the yield per unit area and total grain yield were both increasing since 2003 for agricultural condition improved in the QTP. Chloroplasts play an essential role in plant growth and development. Any factors affecting chloroplast development will lead to abnormal plant growth. Here, we characterized a new maize mutant, albino seedling mutant 81647 (as-81647), which exhibits an entirely albino phenotype in leaves and eventually died before the three-leaf stage. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) demonstrated that the chloroplast thylakoid membrane was impaired and the granum lamellae significantly decreased in as-81647. Map-based cloning and transgenic analysis confirmed that PPR647 encodes a new chloroplast protein consisting of 11 pentratricopeptide repeat domains. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) assays and transcriptome analysis (RNA-seq) showed that the PPR647 mutation significantly disrupted the expression of PEP-dependent plastid genes. In addition, RNA splicing and RNA editing of multiple chloroplast genes showed severe defects in as-81647. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) has been reported in one-third of women worldwide at different life stages, due to the complex balance in the ecology of the vaginal microbiota. It is a common cause of abnormal vaginal discharge and is associated with other health issues. Since the first description of anaerobic microbes associated with BV like Gardnerella vaginalis in the 1950s, researchers have stepped up the game by incorporating advanced molecular tools to monitor and evaluate the extent of dysbiosis within the vaginal microbiome, particularly on how specific microbial population changes compared to a healthy state. Moreover, treatment failure and BV recurrence rate remain high despite the standard antibiotic treatment. Consequently, researchers have been probing into alternative or adjunct treatments, including probiotics or even vaginal microbiota transplants, to ensure successful treatment outcomes and reduce the colonization by pathogenic microbes of the female reproductive tract. Surface texturing is a common modification method for altering the surface properties of a material. Predicting the response of a textured surface to scratching is significant in surface texturing and material design. In this study, scratches on a thermoplastic material with textured surface are simulated and experimentally tested. The effect of texture on scratch resistance, surface visual appearance, surface deformation and material damage are investigated. Bruise spot scratches on textured surfaces are found at low scratch forces (<3 N) and their size at different scratch forces is approximately the same. There is a critical point between the bruise spot damage and the texture pattern damage caused by continuous scratching. Scratch resistance coefficients and an indentation depth-force pattern are revealed for two textured surfaces. A texture named "Texture CB" exhibits high effectiveness in enhancing scratch visibility resistance and can increase the scratch resistance by more than 40% at low scratch forces. Slit2 (slit guidance ligand 2), a ligand of the Roundabout1 (Robo1) transmembrane receptor, is often overexpressed in colorectal carcinomas (CRCs). In this study, we performed data mining in the Metabolic gEne RApid Visualizer (MERAV) database and found that Slit2 and TGF-β1 (Transforming growth factor-β1) are highly expressed in carcinomas relative to those in tumor-free tissues from healthy volunteers or wild type mice. Furthermore, expression of Slit2 and TGF-β1 in CRCs increases with pathological stages. Serum levels of Slit2 in patients with CRC and in ApcMin/+ mice with spontaneous intestinal adenoma were significantly increased compared with those in healthy controls. Specific blockage of Slit2 binding to Robo1 inactivated TGF-β/Smads signaling and inhibited tumor cell migration and metastasis, which can be partially restored by treatment with TGF-β1. However, specific inhibition of TGF-β1/Smads signaling reduced CRC tumor cell migration and invasion without affecting cell proliferation. This study suggests that activation of Slit2/Robo1 signaling in CRC induces tumor metastasis partially through activation of the TGF-β/Smads pathway. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Harmful algal blooms (HABs), eutrophication, and internal pollutant sources from sediment, represent serious problems for public health, water quality, and ecological restoration worldwide. Previous studies have indicated that Modified Local Soil (MLS) technology is an efficient and cost-effective method to flocculate the HABs from water and settle them onto sediment. Additionally, MLS capping treatment can reduce the resuspension of algae flocs from the sediment, and convert the algal cells, along with any excessive nutrients in-situ into fertilisers for the restoration of submerged macrophytes in shallow water systems. Furthermore, the capping treatment using oxygen nanobubble-MLS materials can also mitigate sediment anoxia, causing a reduction in the release of internal pollutants, such as nutrients and greenhouse gases. This paper reviews and quantifies the main features of MLS by investigating the effect of MLS treatment in five pilot-scale whole-pond field experiments carried out in Lake Tai, South China, and in Cetian Reservoir in Datong city, North China. Data obtained from field monitoring showed that the algae-dominated waters transform into a macrophyte-dominated state within four months of MLS treatment in shallow water systems. The sediment-water nutrient fluxes were substantially reduced, whilst water quality (TN, TP, and transparency) and biodiversity were significantly improved in the treatment ponds, compared to the control ponds within a duration ranging from one day to three years. The sediment anoxia remediation effect by oxygen nanobubble-MLS treatment may further contribute to deep water hypoxia remediation and eutrophication control. Combined with the integrated management of external loads control, MLS technology can provide an environmentally friendly geo-engineering method to accelerate ecological restoration and control eutrophication. The aim of this study was to explore the effect of gap environmental factors on the plant population regeneration pattern in the Castanopsis kawakamii natural forest. We used the detrended canonical correspondence analysis (DCCA) method to study coupling relationships between species distribution in the regeneration layer and environmental factors. The results showed that: (1) The main environmental factors that influenced species distribution in the forest gaps and non-gaps were different, and the highest explanation rate of environmental factors was the soil temperature below the surface 10 cm (ST10); (2) The relationships between species distribution in the regeneration layer of the forest gaps and non-gaps were mainly restricted by environmental factors, given the environmental factors complied with the ecological niche hypothesis; and (3) For the endangered C. kawakamii population, there were positive and negative relationships between the environmental factors and the various species in the forest gaps and non-gaps, whilst the effects of such relationships were varied. Some management operations, including the creation of artificial gaps and adequate fertilization in the non-gaps, could more effectively promote the growth and regeneration of the C. kawakamii population. Atherosclerosis is the most common disease of the vascular system and the metabolic disorder is one of its important molecular mechanisms. SAP protein is found to be highly expressed in atherosclerotic blood vessels. Our previous study found that SAP deficiency can significantly inhibit the development of atherosclerosis. However, the regulatory effect of SAP deficiency on AS metabolism is unknown. Based on 1 H-NMR metabonomics, this study investigated the serum metabolic changes in ApoE -/- ;SAP -/- mice compared with ApoE -/- mice during the whole progression of atherosclerosis. The results showed that acetate, pyruvate, choline and VLDL + LDL were statistically regulated to the normal levels as in C57 mice by SAP deficiency in ApoE -/- ;SAP -/- mice at 8 w (without obvious plaques). With the appearance and aggravation of atherosclerotic plaques (8 + 4 w and 8 + 8 w), the four metabolites of acetate, pyruvate, choline and VLDL + LDL were continuously regulated, which were denoted as the metabolic regulatory markers of SAP deficiency. We also found that the changes in these four metabolites had nothing to do with high-fat diet. Therefore, it was revealed that SAP deficiency regulated the metabolic disorders in ApoE -/- prior to the appearance of obvious atherosclerotic plaques, which is one of the important mechanisms leading to the inhibition of atherosclerosis, providing a new basis for the application of SAP in atherosclerosis., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
