This study investigates the outcomes of infection-prevention measures like selective digestive track decontamination (SDD) and selective oropharyngeal decontamination (SOD) as treatment measures for patients in intensive care units (ICUs). The results indicate that both the measures significantly reduce mortality rates among patients in the ICU.
