The article presents a study which aims to assess myocardial glucose uptake in patient with PRKAG2 cardiac syndrome. Positron emission tomography (PET) and F-Fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (FDG) imaging were used in the study to examine its effectiveness in the assessment of myocardial glucose uptake. Results showed that the disease is related with a reduction of glucose uptake. It concludes that the imaging techniques were useful tool to assess alterations in myocardial glucose transport.

The article presents a study which investigates the clinical impact of computed tomography coronary angiography (CTA) on invasive coronary angiography (ICA) referrals, CTA accuracy and normalcy rate. The study reviewed consecutive patients undergoing ICA before and after implementing a dedicated cardiac CT program and compared with 3 other centers to determine the impact of CTA. It concludes that the clinical implementation of CTA positively impact ICA by reducing the frequency of normal ICA.
