The article analyzes the current state of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based agricultural knowledge transfer of female farmers in Bangladesh involved in agricultural operations to enhance farm productivity for agricultural contribution. The farmers of ICT service centers posses some tools to meet their agricultural needs. Like male farmers, female ones also use ICT tools like mobile, radio, computer and television.

It is known that rural libraries have an important role in increasing literacy and improving the quality of life of the community by holding empowerment activities. This study aims to determine the role of the Leshutama Library in the community empowerment of Pakisaji Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung, East Java, Indonesia. The research is a case study done using a qualitative approach. The subject of this research was the Leshutama Library in which 7 persons were determined as the informants. Sources of data obtained in this study include primary and secondary data sources. Data collection was done through observation, in-depth interviews, and document. Data analysis was done using data reduction and presentation from which conclusions could be drawn. The result of this research is that the Leshutama Library plays an active role in empowering the community in various fields, namely the environment, community skills, and literacy. In the environmental field, the result could be shown from the library’s initiative to plant trees and preserve forests, in improving community skills, the library conducts manual screen printing and soybean fermentation training, and in literacy by providing reading collection materials and form study groups. According to the Western empiricists, an awareness or familiarity gained by experience is knowledge (Hume: Noonan 1999). Knowledge is the sum total of information conserved by civilizations and education is enriched by knowledge. Education is one of the paramount ways for the achievement of women empowerment. Women empowerment is one of the most challenging steps in surmounting the hindrance in a woman's life that will finally enhance her qualities to contour her life and society. Women empowerment is integral to the achievement of all millennium development goals. Undoubtedly, the role of education in women empowerment is predominant and it has to be spread among women. So, we need to understand the importance of women's education. In order to encourage education for women the Government of West Bengal has introduced Kanyashree Prakalpa (K.P) Public Service Scheme in 2013 to provide financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 to the girl children for improving their studies. The main aim of this scheme is to reduce dropout from schools and prevent child marriage all over the state. With the help of this assistance the girl children of West Bengal made themselves empowered in different sectors such as Self Employed Tailoring, Assistant Beauty Therapist, General Duty Assistant, and Domestic Data Entry Operator and in various other sectors. The Public Libraries have a great role in achieving women empowerment by disseminating information of education, skill development training, jobs, agricultural and business related news etc towards girl children. Public Libraries located in West Bengal are important institutions and tools of the society. Disseminating knowledge of the society is a great challenge for the Public Library and its duty is not limited to just issuing and reissuing books. The Government of West Bengal has appointed 184 retired Librarians considering their importance and efficiency of their work4. The present study conducted in South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal among 20 Librarians, 40 School teachers and 40 Gram Panchayat members has assimilated their opinion about women empowerment through public services scheme, Kanyashree Prakalpa (K.P). The main aim of the study is to evaluate the role of Public Libraries, School teachers and Gram Panchayats in women's empowerment through K.P. As a result, this Kanyashree project creates a great opportunity for the socio- economic empowerment of girls. As per Michelle Obama, "No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half of its citizens". It is quite lucid that empowerment of women means making women economically and socially independent, self-reliant, confident and positive in attitude. Kanyashree Prakalpa is considered as one of the most significant tools in this regard with a participatory approach for the empowerment of women. This helps the women to develop themselves individually and to participate in the developmental activities of the family and society. The main objective of the conduct of the study is to find out the level of socio-economic empowerment of women through Kanyashree Prakalpa. The result of the study clearly shows that Kanyashree Prakalpa creates a great opportunity for women for their socio-economic empowerment. This study aim at identifying the communication asset and usage by rural women in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. Three hundred and forty-five respondents were proportionally selected from the population while questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Respondents were randomly selected from ten villages and questionnaires were administered. The research questions were formulated and tested statistically using simple percentage, Chi square analysis to determine goodness of fit and the Two-way Analysis of Variance to determine significance of response categories against the factors. The study found that ICT are used for women empowerment in Agricultural practice and economic activities in Ika North East Local Government Area. The women acquire ICT skills through age groups, friends and relatives. Lack of facilities, inadequate access to ICT facilities, epileptic power supply, insufficient knowledge on the use of ICT and breakdown of ICT equipment are problems militating against ICT use among rural women in the study area. Provision of adequate power supply, provision of enough ICT equipment/services at low cost, organization of ICT training regularly for women are recommended as solution to the identified problems. In light of a high HIV/AIDS prevalence rate among women in Zimbabwe, this study sought to assess the extent to which the Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN) was effective in disseminating HIV/AIDS information to combat the pandemic among women. Literature reviewed that in as much as information was crucial in the fight against HIV/AIDS; there are other strategies that should be employed in combating HIV/AIDS to complement information dissemination activities such as economic empowerment of women and promotion of gender equality. The evaluation research design was used to accomplish the research objectives. The population of the study consisted of thirty-five women and five ZWRCN staff. Thirty out of the thirty-five women responded to a questionnaire whilst three out of five ZWRCN staff members responded to an interview. The study revealed that most women did not have access to HIV/AIDS information they needed. Where such information was available, it was not based on formal needs assessment, hence, mostly irrelevant. The study recommended the ZWRCN to engage in effective needs assessment as well as partnering with other organisations whose mandate was gender and HIV/AIDS. The expected outcome of this recommendation was hoped to ensure the reversal of the pandemic among women.
