The article describes what constitutes a living wage in Great Britain. The Living Wage Foundation reported about 10,000 London residents having gained a living wage of 8.30 pounds per hour since 2001 with public sector employers, private businesses and educational establishments leading the groups fostering said wage. Low pay is distinguished from in-work poverty as unequal rewards for work done while the latter pertains to households thriving on low incomes and which have at least one earner.
