There are different definitions on young-adult stroke, however, most stroke specialists prefer the stroke patient who is under 45 years old as young-adult stroke (YAS). YAS patients may be misdiagnosed in the emergency rooms or general clinic, and finally missing out on important timesensitive treatment such as intravenous r-tPA thrombolysis or intra-artery embolectomy. Accumulated studies have indicated that the rise of the incidence of young-adult stroke, but it is not detailed investigated in China. And also, the etiology and pathogenesis of young-adult stroke is complex, such as atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, arterial dissection, arteritis, etc. Urgent needs are unmet to investigate the etiology and pathogenesis for the individualized precision therapy. Blood test, sonography, HR-MRI, CTA, or DSA is beneficial to find the hereditary, dissection or other etiologies for YAS patients in the advanced stroke center. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
