The Orlando Easterly Wetlands in Orlando, FL, is one of the largest constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment, capable of treating 20 million gallons of wastewater per day. Mimicking the diversity of natural wetland systems, the project has 17 cells with three types of plant communities, namely, a marsh planted with cattail and bulrush, another marsh with more than 60 submergent and emergent herbaceous species and a hardwood swamp planted with tree seedlings and understory plants.
