本研究では, 衛星リモートセンシングを用いて広大な面積を有する大規模最終処分場の安定化状況をモニタリングする手法について検討した. 上海市廃棄物老港処置場を対象とし, 現地調査で得られた廃棄物層ガス組成と衛星リモートセンシングで得られたNDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index: 正規化差分植生指標) との関連性について検討した. 両者の間には一定の相関が見られ, NDVIを使用することで廃棄物層のガス組成を推定できることを示した. また, 多時期の衛星画像から得られたNDVIの時期変動パターンを用いることで, 処分場内の植生を分類し, 植生遷移状況の推定及び植生遷移段階が遅延していると考えられる箇所を検出する手法について検討した.

広大な面積を有するアジアメガシティの大規模廃棄物処分場を効率的にモニタリングするシステムの構築を目指し, その基礎調査として上海市の老港廃棄物処置場において現地調査を実施した. 具体的には, 埋立地表層の植生状況に関する調査結果を埋立地の安定化指標として活用できるかを検討するため, 埋立完了からの経過時間の異なる4区画において, 埋立地表層の植生状況と埋立ガス等の安定化指標との関係について調査した・その結果, 埋立完了後最初に植物が出現するのは, 覆土が比較的厚く保水性が高い場所であったこと, 埋立完了後2年の区画では, 被植地において埋立ガスフラックスが大きかったこと, 埋立完了からの時間経過とともに, 被植地では埋立ガス濃度が減少していた一方, 裸地では埋立ガス濃度は高い値を維持していたこと, および, 老港廃棄物処置場における植生遷移系列の特徴, を確認した.植生情報は, 埋立区画内の相対的な安定化度の違いを評価するための指標としでの利用可能性があることを述べた.

本研究では、埋立地の再生事業に伴うGHG排出量の推計手法を示し、ケーススタディとして既存埋立地のごみを掘り起こして20万トン分の埋立容量を確保こと想定した場合について試算を行った。併せて、埋立地を新規に建設したケースについても推計し、埋立地を再生したケースと比較した。推計結果から、埋立地再生によるCO2排出量は新規建設と比較して10～16倍大きいことを示した。また、生ごみ主体・嫌気性構造の埋立地において再生事業を行った場合、埋立地において発生するCH4を大きく削減できるため、これを考慮するとトータルのGHG排出量はマイナスとなる場合があることを示した。

本研究では, 中国有数の大規模廃棄物処分場である上海市の老港廃棄物処分場をケーススタディとし, 衛星リモートセンシングを用いた大規模廃棄物処分場のモニタリング手法について検討した. 具体的には, 老港廃棄物処分場の埋立進捗状況の把握, 地表面被覆状況と地表面温度との関連性, 埋立完了区画における植物活性度と埋立ガスとの関連性について分析した. その結果, 異なる時点の衛星画像について地表面被覆分類を行うことにより処分場の埋立進捗状況を把握できること, 地表面に廃棄物が露出している箇所の地表面温度が高いことが衛星画像からも確認できること, 植物活性度 (NDVI)の増加量を用いることで埋立ガスの発生状況を間接的に把握できる可能性を示した.

本研究では、再生土木資材に関わる法規制と市場それぞれの観点からリサイクルの状況を分析することで、今後のリサイクル促進に資することを試みた。 再生砕石については、地域別にみると、市場価格が需要に影響を与えていることを確認できた。 また、再生砕石の市場シェアには、バージン砕石の域内自給率が関係していることを示した。近年では価格が再生材需要に与える影響が薄れてきており、リサイクル関連法等の規制による影響が大きくなっていることが示唆された。 一方、アスファルト合材市場の需要量は価格にあまり影響されていないことを示した。 市場取引きを伴わないことが多い再利用土砂については、価格に関する分析はできなかったが、再資源化における他の土木資材との相違点について考察した。

近年急速な経済発展を遂げてきたアジアの諸都市においては, 環境インフラの整備は経済活動に直結するインフラに比して後回しにされている場合が多いと言える。このため本論文では, 都市環境インフラ整備戦略の予備的検討として, 中国都市における都市生活廃棄物処理・処分のためのインフラ需要予測とその充足度に関する分析を行った。具体的には, 中国の主要都市における都市生活廃棄物の排出特性及びその変化パターンについて分析を行った上で, 中国北京市における都市生活廃棄物排出量の今後の変化について, 現状維持型と先進国追従型の2種類のシナリオを設定し, 2020年までに必要となる都市生活廃棄物処理施設とその投資額を算定した。

LCAにおいて時間依存性のあるシナリオ分析を行うためのライフサイクル評価手法を検討した. 評価対象として, 長寿命型住宅として提案, 実用化が進んでいるスケルトン・インフィル (SI) 住宅を取り上げ, その普及シミュレーションを行った. ダイナミックに変化するシナリオとして, 住宅床面積の需要変化と運用段階における世帯人員数別CO2排出原単位を扱えるモデルとし, 1995年から2100年の105年間を評価対象とした. これにより, SI住宅普及によるLC-CO2及び解体廃棄物削減効果を試算した.

Per capita waste generation rate in China is decided by climate condition, economic or consumption level and household fuel by multiple regression analysis. Models for per capita waste collection rate are developed for whole nation, major city, and Shanghai. The total generation rate of China has been increasing rapidly during thepast twenty years because of urban population and per capita waste discharge increase, now per capita waste collection increase is slowing down and increase in total collection rate will mainly caused by urban population increase in the near future. There is geographic difference in per capita waste collection rate by analysis at province level; it is usually higher in colder northern area because coal is still used as family fuel. Major cities generally show cut in per capita generation rate at the primary phase of economic development because of popularization of gas using in family, then show increase with continues economic development. Share of organic materials and calorific value of waste in China's major cities keep increasing. China's domestic waste disposal systems need to be improved to meet the changed generation characteristics and demands for waste reduce, recycle and reclamation.

中国では, 改革開放政策以来, 急激な工業化と都市化が進行し, これに伴い大気汚染物質や水質汚濁物質の発生量は増加の一途にある. こうした環境問題の特性は, 地域ごとの工業発展パターンを反映した多様な特性を持つ. このため, 本論文では, 中国の都市環境に関する統計データに基づき, 工業化とそれに伴う汚染物質排出構造の地域的特性について分析する. 環境問題の分析フレームとしては, DPSER (Driving Force-Pressure-state-Effect-Response) モデルを用いる. これによって, 都市の工業化と汚染物質排出構造特性についての地域別比較分析を試みる.

China is faced with a number of environmental problems associated with industrialization and urbanization both taking place rapidly in accordance with the economic development. Worsening of environmental conditions in cities is especially serious, requiring immediate and effective measures. However, the situation differs among cities and analyses based on national averages have limitations. This paper aims in categorizing the cities into groups based on their environmental and economic characteristics, and discusses the situation of urban environment problems in China. It takes up four specific problem areas:(1) industrial pollution in terms of air and water pollution, (2) immigration to cities, (3) improvement of a urban infrastructures, and (4) household wastes. Characterization of cities are made by cluster analysis, and multiple regression analysis used to identify the factors which govern the urban environmental changes. It is suggested that the amount of foreign capital investment have a significant effect to the improvement of environmental conditions in Chinese cities.

More than seventy percent of China's primary energy supply depends upon coal, and no radical change is expected to take place in this basic structure during the early part of the next century. An energy supply structure that is so heavily dependent upon coal poses fundamental difficulty to the regionally balanced economic development in China. Main coal mines in China are distributed in the North-West region far from the coastal areas where economic development is rapid and the energy demand is increasing. Seventy percent of coal transport relies on railway, and 40 percent of freight transport by railway is devoted to the coal transport, which places heavier burdens on China's freight and passenger transport system. In this study, a prediction is made of future coal demand in each province of China up until 2010, and an estimate is made for the inter-provincial transport demand of coal. In 2010, the total coal demand in China will be 1.01 Ecal, i.e., 166 % of that in 1994, creating three times the demand in the coal transport by railway. Coal transport demand from Shang-xi Province to He-bei Province, for example, will increase from 0.6 million tons in 1994 to 1.7 million tons in 2010. The estimated transport demand of coal will far exceed the target figures presented in the long-term development plans, suggesting the need for greater investment in railway and other transport systems.

With the trend of “down-sizing”, philosophy and concept of computer-assissted environmental information systems are subject to drastic changes. Personal computers (PCs) have come to be more effectively used for processing large volume data than before; they can even match engineering work stations in terms of calculation speed and memory capacity. Moreover, PCs provide users with more freedom and flexibility of establishing user-oriented data handling and analysis systems. This paper presents an example of environmental information system based on the most modern PCs and an object-oriented programming language (VBA; Visual Basic for Applicaion). It demonstrates how non-professional users with relevant computer knowledge can develop geographical information system and other data processing systems.

The purpose of this study is to discuss environmental implications of increasing transport volume in Asian countries which are achieving rapid economic development. Increase in the number of automobile vehicles is most remarkable in cities which do not have appropriate mass transportation systems such as subways. From the global viewpoint, increasing freight transport and motorization in China attract our attention. The share of the tracks already exceeds 80 percent of the total automobile transport in China, and is still increasing. On the other hand, railways plays a dominant role in China's freight transport; their share being around 80%. As a whole, tracks play an important role in the short distance transportation while railways are responsible for the long distance. Carbon dioxide emission of transportation sector in China has been increasing mainly due to the increase of track transportation, although tracks fuel economy has been improved. With China's economic development, especially in the coastal region, transportation of coal from the North and West to the South and East will cause heavy burden on the railway transportation system. The coal transport from Shanxi Province to Hubei Province, in particular, is expected to be increased toward the year of 2010.
